Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary “behind closed doors”, a royal expert has claimed.
Meghan and Harry got married on May 19, 2018
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 19.
The couple, who got engaged 16 months after first meeting, got married in St George’s Chapel at Windsor in 2018.
According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, Meghan and Harry will likely mark the day in private, with celebrations taking place “behind closed doors”.
Speaking to Fruity Slots, he explained: “Celebrations will probably be behind closed doors, maybe a dinner party with some friends or maybe just the two of them.
“Maybe they’ll recreate that roast chicken dinner they had on the night they got engaged at their cottage in Windsor.”

Describing Harry as a “romantic”, Mr Harrold – who worked for King Charles between 2004 and 2011 – said that the former working royal has “always worn his heart of his sleeve”.
Recalling his time knowing the royal, he added according to the Mirror: “Prince Harry was always very romantic. When he used to go on dates, he was very sweet and kind, a true gentleman. Harry is very traditional and very romantic at heart.”
Speaking of how members of the Royal Family typically spend wedding anniversaries, he added: “Typically, the Royal Family do acknowledge wedding anniversaries, we usually see social media posts so it’ll be interesting to see if that happens this year. If they don’t, once again it goes to show the ongoing division. If it does happen, then I see that as an olive branch.”
Just a year after their wedding day, Meghan gave birth to the couple’s first child, Archie – who recently celebrated his fifth birthday.
Their daughter Lilibet, who will celebrate her third birthday next month, was born in 2021. Her birth came just one year after they stepped down as senior working royals and moved to the US.
