PRINCE Harry’s next step is ditching his royal title after he cut ties with Britain and made the US his “new country”, an expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to California in 2020 after choosing to quit the UK and step down as working royals.

Harry said this year he has “considered” US citizenship, which would mean renouncing his royal titles.
And experts fear Harry’s commitment to life in Montecito could signal his willingness to take that next step.
Royal author Phil Dampier believes he may never live in the UK again and said he would not be missed.
The British public “have lost respect for him and regard him as the prince of idleness and division”, he added.
Mr Dampier also thinks Harry backdated his US residency to the exact day he and Meghan, 42, were evicted from Frogmore Cottage to make point to King Charles and brother William.
HARRY’S VISA ROW
The key facts:
Harry claimed in his memoir Spare he has taken coke, weed and magic mushrooms.
A conservative think tank called the Heritage Foundation say the drug use claims pull Harry’s immigration status into question.
They took the US government to court demanding the Duke’s visa application is made public, to see if he lied about his past drug use.
If he did lie, Harry could be in breach of US federal law.
Government lawyers argue say releasing such documents would breach Harry’s privacy and security.
In an update of Company House records filed this week, the Duke of Sussex, 39, declared the United States his “new country” of residence.
However, in business documents filed for his eco firm Travalyst, Harry said he been a US resident since June 29 last year.
That was the day his father King Charles — backed by Harry’s brother William — ordered him to return the keys to his Windsor bolthole.
Mr Dampier believes it is a sign that Harry — who has launched several attacks on the Royal Family — has cut ties with the UK.
He said last night: “As always with Harry a lot can be read into his actions.
“Being ousted from Frogmore Cottage wounded him deeply.
“Charles and William knew it had to be done to emphasise Harry and Meghan were outside The Firm but he probably still thought he could keep a base here.
“Now he’s shown he accepts his life is in the US.”
Harry founded Travalyst in 2019 and previously listed himself as a UK resident.
He is due to return next month for a ten-year anniversary celebration of his Invictus Games.
Last week the US government handed over his previous visa application to a court amid claims he lied on it.
Harry confessed last year to drug-taking, which must be declared.
US presidential nominee Donald Trump warned: “If he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.”
IT’S INEVITABLE
ROYAL Photographer Arthur Edwards, 83, told The Sun it’s “quite sad
The longtime snapper said: “It looks like he’s backdated his US residency to when he and Meghan left these shores.
“It’s another sign that he’s really cut ties with the royal family. It’s sad, but you know, I suppose it’s inevitable.
“I’ve always said that I thought Prince Harry would one day come back here and work for the royal family.
“It now looks pretty certain that he’s made his mind up that America is home and that’s where he wants to stay.”
He continued: “One day he may even apply for citizenship. That way he’ll have to give up his title – the Duke of Sussex – so he probably won’t go that far.
“But yeah it’s quite sad because Harry was a very important part of the royal family here and he was much loved.
“Everywhere we went he was just loved. He was absolutely charming and especially with children.
“He was fantastic, but that’s probably not changed. He obviously no longer wants to spend any more time here.”
Mr Edwards also said Harry only seems to care about awards and baseball games.
He said: “Harry’s coming close to 40 now – he’s no child anymore.
“Instead of going to schools and charities and helping young people with mental health, he’s going to awards ceremonies and baseball games and polo matches.
“I don’t think it’s a real life. I think he was brilliant here and gave a lot.”
