Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spotted comforting victims of the tragic Los Angeles wildfires which has left thousands of people’s homes completely destroyed

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been spotted consoling victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

Thousands of people have lost their homes in the tragic blazes that have swept the region, including A-listers such as Paris Hilton and Anthony Hopkins. The Sussexes recently revealed they had opened their Montecito home to friends and loved ones who have been forced to evacuate due to the nearby fires to stay with them. The couple are also believed to have donated supplies to people affected by the blazes, including clothing, children’s items, and other essential supplies.

Now, they have been spotted in conversation with victims of the travesty. The duo were seen handing out food parcels on Friday at the Pasadena Convention Centre, which is being used as an evacuation centre. They were seen hugging the founder of World Central Kitchen, Jose Andres, as the organisation distributes meals to victims.

Their security team is said to have been coordinating an evacuation plan while packing essentials for their children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

A neighbour recently said: “It’s not chaos here yet but the fire is moving fast and we are not taking any chances.” The couple and their neighbours have been given public safety survival kits. In a statement, the couple said: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued. If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas.”

The couple continued: “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating. Some families and people have been left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys & clothing, and other essentials. The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need.”

The series of major fires in California have killed 10 people so far and ravaged communities. They have also sent thousands of people fleeing their properties, including in areas popular with celebrity homes.

Paris Hilton has continued to update her followers on the devastation after saying she watched her house be destroyed live on TV. In a heartbreaking Instagram upload, the socialite described the fires as looking like “hell” on earth. “Heartbroken to find out what happened to my house by seeing that it was burned to the ground on live TV,” she wrote in a story, which accompanied a clip of the devastation.

“Heartbroken beyond words,” she continued. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.” She added: “This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.

“While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires.
