Frankie Bridge’s H&M white linen shirt that’s ‘perfect for packing in hand luggage’

Frankie Bridge’s latest high street find is perfect for summer – and it costs just £27.99 from H&M

If there’s one fashion staple everyone needs in their holiday wardrobe, it’s a white linen shirt. The effortless piece goes with pretty much everything, and Frankie Bridge has found an affordable option on the high street that’s heading straight into our hand luggage.

The Loose Women panellist is never one to gate keep her fashion finds, regularly sharing her top high street picks as part of her weekly Frankie’s Faves series. And over the weekend, she posted about an oversized linen shirt from H&M that’s ‘perfect for mixing and matching’.

Made from a lightweight linen fabric – an ideal choice for the summer months for its water-wicking properties – the button-down shirt boasts a neat collar and chest pocket, with dropped shoulders and button cuffs for a relaxed feel while still being smart enough to wear for more polished occasions.

Speaking on the shirt, Frankie said. Today’s @favestheedit is hand luggage faves! An edit of the best looks to pack in your carry on. Lightweight, perfect for mixing and matching, easy to pack, but without compromising on style and being able to make multiple looks. A white linen shirt is a perfect day look or cover up to add in.”

Priced at £27.99, the shirt comes in sizes XS to XXL, and has racked up a number of five-star reviews, with an overall rating of 4.5 stars. One said: “Love this shirt. Can be worn casual with jeans, shorts, skirts or dressed up for the office. Very versatile. Love the colour.”

Another added: “Fab linen shirt. I plan to wear on holiday as a beach cover up so sized up to a L and it’s perfect (I am UK size 8-10). Also wore recently with jeans and did a French tuck. Great versatile piece that everyone needs in their wardrobe.”

“Quite a nice shirt I’ve got it in multiple colours and this is not the first time I buy them,” said a third. “From my experience, they are quite long lasting however because it’s linen it does wear it down a bit.”

With a fourth adding: “Absolutely LOVE this shirt. So stylish for summer and can be worn so many ways. Oversized so size down if you’re usually between sizes. The fabric is a great weight too, not at all flimsy.”

Those who gave it a lower score almost all had issues around sizing, some saying it’s too big, others saying its too small, one said: “This shirt is not oversized! True to size. I left it, despite I wanted oversized, because it is snow white colour, which is rare in H&M. I love snow white linen!” Though another wrote: “I bought an XS as I didn’t want it too oversized. However its still quite large.” But we always recommend using the online size guide to find your perfect fit.

Frankie styled hers with a pair of £36 Topshop denim Editor short in bleach, with a £12 Weekday Byron shiny bandeau bikini top in light blue, square toe beach flip flops for £4 at Boohoo finished off with a Mango large mixed check shopper bag in multi, costing £60.

But if a white shirt isn’t for you, it also comes in khaki, black and a pale pink, so you’re bound to find one perfect for slotting into your warm weather wardrobe.

Also from H&M, the 35-year-old recommended this Tie-strap dress, which costs less than £20. Coming in four colours, the £18.99 dress features a square neckline, tie-top spaghetti shoulder straps and a concealed zip and hook-and-eye fastener at one side. We’re also a little bit in love with her Mango raffia crossbody contrast handle bag, which costs £50 but is sure to become your wardrobe’s hardest-working accessory of the summer months.

But if it’s Frankie’s linen shirt you’re coveting, you can pick it up for under £30 here at H&M.
