Exclusive: Loose Women star Linda Robson ‘excited’ as she lands first film part in 10 years

Linda Robson has landed a role in an upcoming big screen gangster film which will start shooting in London later this year, with the role being her first film role in ten years

Loose Women star Linda Robson has been made an offer she can’t refuse – a part in a big-screen gangster film.

The 65-year-old is said to be “excited” to take on her first movie role in 10 years as part of British flick Bermondsey Tales: Fall of The Roman Empire.

Linda, best known from classic sitcom Birds of a Feather, plays Kath, a mob boss’s relative.

And she stars alongside ex- EastEnder Maisie Smith, 21, and Kidulthood actor Adam Deacon, 40.

A source said producers of the film, which starts shooting in London later this year, were desperate to land Linda.

One said: “Linda was mentioned at a very early stage by the Fugitive Film Productions – the team behind Bermondsey Tales.

“They were very keen to get her on board and are absolutely thrilled that she has agreed to play Kath.

“They feel she is perfect for the role and will do a brilliant job of bringing it to life.”

Linda last appeared on screen in a 2020 Christmas special of Birds of a Feather, which launched in 1989 and ran for 12 seasons.

The Bermondsey Tales role is her first movie casting since she appeared with Hollywood legend Bob Hoskins and Call the Midwife star Jenny Agutter in 2012 flick Outside Bet.

The source added: “Linda is very excited about the project and can’t wait to get stuck in once filming begins. She wants to really throw herself into it.”

The career boost comes after reports that her 33-year marriage to Mark Dunford is in crisis with the couple said to have endured “a bit of a rough patch”.

Linda recently went on a solo holiday to Majorca after her daughter Lauren, 40, pulled out of a family trip.
