Strictly Come Dancing 2024 fans were left questioning the BBC series’ latest theme, with many left annoyed at the song choices as the remaining couples took to the dance floor
Not all Strictly Come Dancing viewers were enjoying the show on Saturday night, as Halloween week arrived.
As the pairings and judges dressed in spooky outfits and performed Halloween themed routines, some fans were left questioning “terrible” decisions. As the couples all performed, it was quickly apparent that not all of the songs matched the theme.
While the sets and the costumes matched the Halloween memo, some of the songs were questionable. From Staying Alive by The Bee Gees and Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader, to Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life, some fans were left calling out the song choices.
Many viewers said it “didn’t feel like Halloween at all” as they all repeated how the songs did not match the theme. One viewer posted online: “Doesn’t even feel like Halloween week on #Strictly it’s my fav too. So disappointed.”
Another said: “Not sure that song fits the theme tbh,” as a third said: “These song choices are terrible for a Halloween special not gonna lie.” A fourth fan wrote: “Ah that classic Halloween song, Canned Heat by Jamiroquai.”
The comments kept on coming too, with one reading: “And now they think That’s Life is a #Halloween song as well!” Another said: “All these well known Halloween songs.”

A further comment read: “Is it just me or are these songs not very “Halloween-esque”? Where are the Jives to Monster Mash.” Halloween drama aside, Chris McCausland had a plea for the judges, warning them to ‘be nice’ amid fears he could leave the BBC series this weekend.
The comedian took to the dance floor for a Halloween themed performance with his pro dancer Dianne Buswell. But after his routine, he immediately had a warning for the judges amid fears from himself and viewers he could be next to leave the show.
Telling the judges to “be nice”, he warned them amid fans noticing he was in the “death slot”. With the pair dancing first out of all the pairings, viewers believed their performance position left them at risk of being in the dance-off on Sunday.
Chris himself suggested he and Dianne were at risk due to their chosen dance, with them performing the Samba. Chris pointed out that two of the axed contestants performed a Samba before they were voted off the series.
Fears aside, Chris was on hand to back his fellow stars as he warned the judges: “You lot tonight be nice to everybody, or I am gonna eat your brains,” remaining in character. Judge Motsi Mabuse quipped back: “I’m scared,” as Craig Revel Horwood also mocked the warning.
