Loose Women star Coleen Nolan complained about the storyline for her ex-husband Shane Richie on EastEnders as he made his return as Alfie Moon to win Kat Slater back
Coleen Nolan expressed her disappointment over Shane Richie’s EastEnders storyline as her ex made his return to the BBC One soap.
The Loose Women panellist discussed her former husband’s stint on the show during today’s episode of the ITV lunchtime programme, where she was joined by anchor Charlene White and panellists Katie Piper and Dame Kelly Holmes. As they chatted about her ex Shane’s return to the soap as Alfie Moon, Coleen lamented over the storyline.

As they discussed the storyline on today’s episode of Loose Women, Coleen shared her thoughts on his return.
Fellow panellist Katie Piper asked Coleen: “Don’t you think Kat and Phil make a great couple?” but she was quick to disagree and made her feelings very clear and ranted: “No! No I’m sorry, it’s ridiculous. You would not pick Phil over Alfie. Absolutely [speaking from past experience]. Kat and Alfie just go together; they’ve been together for years. Phil’s just always miserable.”
“Well he’s not anymore now he’s got Kat,” Katie chimed in but Coleen laughed off the comment.

It comes after Shane described it as an “honour” to be returning to the show.
Of his return, he said: “It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be asked back to my TV home of Albert Square. I’m looking forward to catching up with some old cast mates and meeting some new ones. The new exec producer Chris Clenshaw has been instrumental in wanting to bring Alfie Moon back with some wonderful storylines… and who am I to say no?! I can’t wait.”

Chris Clenshaw described Alfie as one of the “most iconic, loveable and most memorable characters in soap”.
“Shane Richie created one of the most iconic, loveable and most memorable characters in soap, and to welcome him back to Walford is an absolute pleasure. A lot’s happened since Alfie’s been away from the Square but wherever his floral shirts go you can expect fun, frolics and, of course, the odd porky-pie. We’re over the moon to have him home,” he added.
