BBC Strictly Come Dancing star makes sad admission as she leaves after surprise dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing aired its Musicals Week results show this evening, with a surprising exit on the cards for one pairing

Strictly Come Dancing aired a shock dance-off this evening following Musicals Week.

Tonight, the BBC show saw Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe face off against Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec in the dance-off. Both pairs performed their routines once again, with Montell and Johannes dancing their Rumba to I’m Here from the musical The Color Purple whilst Tasha and Aljaž performed their Argentine Tango to Ex-Wives from Six.

The judges were then asked to give their verdicts on who they wanted to save, with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all choosing to save Tasha and Aljaž, meaning they were through.

Head judge Shirley Ballas didn’t need to vote but she agreed that she would have decided to save Tasha and Aljaž. It therefore meant an exit for Montell and Johannes, with the Gladiators star making an emotional admission as she exited.

Speaking about Johannes, she said: “He has been amazing. Strictly has touched me in ways I never knew possible. I’m an Olympian and a Gladiator, but I have honestly struggled with confidence my whole life and being on the show, with the beautiful crew, the judges, the cast has just been such an honour. I have to say thank you to you [Johannes] because I really have found a friend and a brother in this man. I mean it from the bottom of my heart, I hope he’s in my life forever, because we have something very special.”

So I want to say to you, thank you for respecting our art form of Ballroom and Latin. The way you handled it was like a true pro. You’re my winner.”

On tonight’s results show, there was an incredible performance from The Schuyler Sisters from the musical Hamilton whilst the Strictly professionals danced to As If We Never Said Goodbye from Sunset Boulevard.

*Strictly Come Dancing’s semi-final will air next Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
