BBC Strictly Chris McCausland’s forgotten soap stint revealed as fans left gobsmacked

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland previously appeared in a huge soap – and fans have been left floored after only just realising.

Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts were astonished to discover Chris McCausland’s appearance in a major soap.

The comic, aged 47, is currently strutting his stuff on the grand stage of BBC One’s glitzy show this year, joining a star-studded cast that includes Jamie Borthwick, Tasha Ghouri, and Shayne Ward.

Chris, who is partnered with the vibrant Dianne Buswell, has become a firm favourite, dazzling the judgesMotsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, Anton du Beke, and Craig Revel Horwoodand viewers alike with their weekly performances. Notably, Chris, who is visually impaired, continues to wow with his dance skills.

Before showing his moves on Strictly, Chris graced our screens in shows such as Would I Lie To You, Have I Got News For You, and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and voiced Rudi on Cbeebies Me Too!

Yet, its his past role on the iconic BBC soap EastEnders that has fans buzzing. Unbeknownst to many until now, Chris made a one-episode appearance as Karl back in 2018, reports the Mirror.

Amidst his current Strictly journey, Chris’ brief EastEnders gig has been brought to light once more. A fan posted an image of Chris in the soap, eliciting excited reactions online, with one viewer exclaiming: Didn’t know he was in ee omg.

Others expressed their surprise, with comments like: “How have I never noticed this until now? ” and another voicing their shock: I was so surprised like how did no one notice this. .

Chris’ character Karl made quite the impression on EastEnders, engaging with Bernadette Taylor (played by Clair Norris) in Kathy’s cafe and even sharing a game of chess. He wasn’t shy about making light-hearted jokes regarding his disability and playfully smeared sauce on his nose to throw Bernadette off her game although she ultimately triumphed in their second match.
