The interview with the Black Adam actor was a riot, as the two stars discussed a variety of subjects. One moment between them stood out, though, when Johnson asked for Barrymore’s consent before a particular act, and it has endeared the Rock to his fans even more.

The Charlie’s Angels actress started her show, The Drew Barrymore Show, in 2020. In the four years since the first episode aired, Drew Barrymore has invited a host of her colleagues and other personalities from the industry.

The popularity of the show has risen through the years, and Dwayne Jonson appeared on the show last week. Barrymore welcomed the WWE star in a hilarious fashion, as she replicated one of Johnson’s iconic looks from the 1990s. The host wore a black turtleneck top, a pair of jeans, and a wig, completing the look with the trademark golden necklace and a fanny pack around her waist.

Johnson has successfully forayed into the world of business. He was on the show to promote his new project, a collection of men’s skincare products called Papatui. As the two were engaged in a conversation, Barrymore pulled out a question from a fan in the fanny pack.

The fan asked the Rock if he could do five squats with Barrymore on his back. Johnson answered in the affirmative, and there was never any doubt in his ability to do so.

However, before Johnson hoisted Barrymore up on his shoulder, he informed her how he would be doing it. Even though Barrymore was enthusiastic about being lifted by the Rock, he also ensured that she was comfortable.

The Rock is a class act, and he proved it once again on the show. Not only did Johnson explain to Barrymore how he would lift her, but he also double-checked with Barrymore afterward.

While it might seem like an inconspicuous act by Dwayne Johnson to many, it is a lesson in how consent works. Sometimes people can be certain of something in the moment but have every right to change their mind later.
