Tom Brady Reveals The Most Devastating Loss Of His Legendary NFL Career

Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady may be the most accomplished player in NFL history, but even the GOATs suffer some all-time heartbreaking losses that they never fully get over.

Brady won an NFL-record seven Super Bowl championships in his 23-year career. The three-time league MVP holds every major QB record as well, including wins, passing yards, passing touchdowns and completions.

And despite all of his accomplishments, there’s one devastating loss in Brady’s career that he still wishes he could change.

During episode five of “The Dynasty” On Apple TV+ (h/t Jason Ounpraseuth of NESN.com), Brady cited the Patriots’ Super Bowl 42 loss to the New York Giants as the one game that he wishes he could have back:

“I was like, what the (expletive). That year we dominated, we destroyed teams. How did we lose? If there’s one game in history, I’d change, it’s that game. But you can’t change it. I think what you realize about football and about life is you never have it quite mastered. It was a tough lesson for me to learn.

Back in 2021, Brady told Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe that he’d trade two of his Super Bowl rings for a perfect season. His Patriots started out a perfect 18-0 in the 2007 season and postseason, only to fall to Eli Manning’s Giants 17-14 in the big game.

Brady redeemed himself by winning four more Super Bowls in the back half of his career, but it’s understandable that he’ll never get over the heartbreak of falling just short of completing the first 19-0 season in history.
