British fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be left disappointed as a new documentary about the royal couple won’t be available to watch in the UK, it has been confirmed.

The documentary titled ‘Harry – The Lost Prince’ will be released by Germany’s ZDF network at 8.15pm on December 3 – but fans outside of Germany won’t be able to view it due to legal reasons.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, the German network confirmed that it won’t be available in the United Kingdom. Discussing their 24-hour live streams, they said: “Access from abroad is not possible due to legal restrictions.”

The show will also be available via their app – but this is only available in Germany.

The network has already confirmed that the show will follow Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down as senior working royals in 2020, as well as his “ongoing search for a meaningful role and the broader impact of this on the British monarchy”.#

The documentary will also explore the divide in public opinion about Harry and Meghan. It has previously been thought that younger audiences view Harry as a modernising force, all while more traditional or conservative circles see him as a threat to the Firm.

Discussing how the couple will likely be feeling in the run up to the bombshell release, with one PR expert claiming that they won’t be stressing as it will be like “water off of a duck’s back”.

Lynn Carratt, from Press Box PR, recently told the Mirror: “The new documentary will be water off of a duck’s back, while they value their privacy and won’t enjoy having no control over what is said, they know they will be subject to these documentaries at times and biographers will always publish books about their lives.”

She added: “From my understanding of the new TV documentary, Harry and Meghan are not part of it. [Instead], it’s interviews with people who live near them who’ve perhaps worked with them previously. Not Harry and Meghan, giving their insight into their own lives or own opinions.”

Speaking about what viewers could expect, she added: “Viewers will likely get an insight into the couple’s life now and what it is like to live close to them, but I don’t believe it will have any impact on their upcoming projects.”

The documentary will come just one week before Netflix release Harry’s documentary Polo, which will explore the royal’s favourite sport.

Meghan and Harry currently reside in California with their children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
