Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not invited to Trooping the Colour for second year in a row

Yet again, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were left out of family affairs as they didn’t make the Trooping the Colour invite list. This marks the second year in a row

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t have the opportunity to show face at the annual Trooping the Colour.

For the second year in a row the Duke and Duchess didn’t make the invite list and the June 15 date is fast approaching. This isn’t anything new for the pair, though, who were left out last year, too, and excluded from a variety of major events for the royals.

People confirmed that they were intentionally excluded, despite making appearances back in 2018 and 2019. However, that was before the couple split from the monarchy and went off on their own ventures in the United States. The 2020 and 2021 Trooping the Colour events were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - JUNE 08: (EMBARGOED FOR PUBLICATION IN UK NEWSPAPERS UNTIL 24 HOURS AFTER CREATE DATE AND TIME) Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex travel down The Mall in a horse drawn carriage as they attend Trooping The Colour, the Queen's annual birthday parade, on June 8, 2019 in London, England. The annual ceremony involving over 1400 guardsmen and cavalry, is believed to have first been performed during the reign of King Charles II. Meghan and Harry did attend 2022’s special Trooping the Colour to honor the late Queen Elizabeth III. However, they were noticeably separate from the rest of the family who they continue to be on rocky terms with.

This year’s event is set to be a stunning display, including “over 1,400 officers and soldiers form the parade, together with two hundred horses; over four hundred musicians from ten bands and Corps of Drums march and play in unison. Some 113 words of command are given by the Officer in Command of the Parade,” according to the Seven British Army Regiments serving His Majesty.

The glamorous parade will start at Buckingham Palce and make a loop through The Mall to Horse Guards Parade. The King will be “greeted by a Royal Salute on Horse Guards Parade and a 41 Gun Salute fired by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery from The Green Park.”

Without an invite, the pair could theoretically attend as members of the public if they dared to make their way back to the country. However, considering Harry went to the UK for the Invictus Games and didn’t see his father, they’re likely not keen to be apart of the festivities this year, anyway.

The last time Harry saw his dad was in February following the news of the King’s cancer diagnosis. However, their meeting was kept fairly brief at the time. Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis fell shortly after and Meghan and Harry publicly sent support, but there was no mention about any private meetings.
