Meghan Markle decided not to go to the King’s Coronation after being unsatisfied with a reply she had previously received from the monarch after she sent him a letter, a source revealed.

The duchess, 43, reportedly sent the King a letter when he was The Prince of Wales after her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The bombshell interview, which also included Prince Harry, hurled a number of accusations at the Royal Family, including the suggestion that certain members of the Firm had been concerned about the skin colour of the couple’s unborn baby.

According to reports, Meghan wrote a letter to Charles about the matter and even reportedly told him who made the remark.

The letter came after Charles had reached out to Meghan over the family rift.

However, sources told The Telegraph that the duchess was unimpressed with his reply, which was one of the reasons she did not attend his 2023 Coronation.

Prince Harry flew to the UK alone for the event last year and was seated next to his cousins, which was rows behind his brother Prince William, who he no longer speaks to.

The duke flew in especially for the ceremony and left soon after. It is believed he did not have a one-to-one meeting with his father during this time.

Since then, Harry’s relationship with the King seems to be on more stable footing, with the pair having spoken over the phone for the duke’s 40th birthday last month.

Harry also flew to the UK to see the King for a short meeting after finding out about the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.

The meeting was believed to have lasted less than an hour, with Prince William not joining the pair at Clarence House depsite the circumstances.
