Meghan Markle left red-faced after embarrassing wardrobe malfunction on royal tour with Prince Harry
Meghan Markle is known for her polished persona and sophisticated style but she suffered a huge slip-up in Tonga. Before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working members of the Royal Family, they carried out a number of tours and engagements representing the crown.
Back in 2018, Meghan, 43, went on a 16-day tour alongside Prince Harry, 40. The couple’s visit to Tonga was part of their first joint tour of the four countries.
Upon arrival at Fua’amotu airport in Nuku’alofa, the country’s capital, they were greeted by Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tukuʻaho. Although, Meghan who looked dazzling in a beautiful deep red dress suffered a huge wardrobe malfunction.
Little did she know that when they stepped out to meet King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u in the city centre, the tag was still attached to the bottom of her dress. As she greeted onlookers a gust of wind came from behind her which revealed the ticket under the hem.
The stunning look was from Self Portrait – which gave a nod to the people of Tonga as it was an exact colour match to their flag. Looking regal the dress features a large belt that cinched her in at the waist.

Meanwhile, it also boasted a stunning pleated midi-length gown that flowed just below the knee, with a round neck, long sleeves, and floral embroidery.
Meghan accessorised with a Christian Dior clutch bag and her signature Manolo Blahnik BB pumps – which she has in a range of different colours.
Despite the blunder it did not stop her and Prince Harry from stealing the show as all eyes were on them when they walked the red carpet.

Today the couple live in Montecito, California with their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lillibet, three – and rarely return back to the UK.
They recently squashed rumours that swirled suggesting that they had gone their separate ways.
Over the past few months, the couple have attended a number of solo events – which drew attention to their relationship – but earlier this month, they uploaded a joint video where they stood side by side.

Both Meghan and Harry shared an inspiring video about protecting children online just before Remembrance Day.
They put on a united front and co-ordinated with Meghan looking effortlessly chic in a navy blazer, which squashed the rumours that they are going their own ways when it comes to their personal life.
