Prince Harry is set to arrive on UK soil for the first time since February next week, with royal sources claiming he’s requested to meet up with his father King Charles. The Duke of Sussex, who briefly visited Charles earlier this year following his cancer diagnosis, is reportedly keen to see him again during his flying visit which will see him attend a service at St Paul’s Cathedral celebrating 10 years of the Invictus Games.

It’s believed that no senior royals will be present at this event, but according to insiders, Harry has offered an olive branch and asked his father to meet with him while he’s here in the UK. The Mirror reports that back in February this year, Harry briefly visited his father shortly after his cancer diagnosis. The monarch was reportedly only able to see his youngest son for less than an hour, before heading back to rest at Sandringham.

Sources have claimed that when Prince Harry contacted his father and asked for a meeting, King Charles had a simple four-word response to the request, that he would definitely do so ‘if he is able’.

“Harry has kept in regular contact with his father on several occasions and made no secret of his desire to see him when he can,” a source has said. “He has been especially concerned about him and hopes the King will be well and able to see him as planned.”

Charles was advised to pause his ‘public-facing engagements’ by his medical team when he began his cancer treatment. However, his doctors have recently said he can resume some of these, as they are “sufficiently pleased with the progress made so far” by the monarch.

His diary for the upcoming week is filling up, with a royal source claiming that he fully intends to squeeze in a meeting with Harry. He has reportedly stayed in contact with his youngest son since they reunited in February and things have “remained positive” between them, a source has claimed.
