Meghan Markle Blames Disorganized Hollywood for Calling Her ‘Hysterical’ and ‘Crazy’ — She Guarantees Her Latest Podcast Will Expose It
Meghan Markle has taken Hollywood to task, condemning the industry’s tendency to label women as “hysterical” and “crazy.” In her latest podcast episode of “Archetypes,” the Duchess of Sussex addressed how these stereotypes perpetuate harmful views of women.
Meghan specifically criticized two popular TV shows. She played a clip from “How I Met Your Mother,” where Neil Patrick Harris’s character says, “If she’s this crazy, she has to be this hot.” She also highlighted a quote from Jordan Peterson: “I don’t think that men can control crazy women.” Additionally, she cited a scene from “Scrubs” where Sarah Chalke’s character declares, “I cannot hide the crazy a minute longer!”
Meghan emphasized the severe impact of these labels, saying, “The word ‘crazy’ is thrown around so casually and the damage – it’s rotten for society and women, frankly everywhere. From relationships to families being shattered, reputations destroyed, and careers ruined.”
She reflected on her personal experiences, noting the intense scrutiny and harsh headlines she faced, which even led to thoughts of suicide, as revealed in her interview with Oprah Winfrey. This interview further strained her and Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family.
