The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were invited by Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa, to show them how the country is changing and saving veterans’ lives through sport in collaboration with the Invictus Games.

During the couple’s first day in Nigeria as part of their three-day tour, Meghan took the opportunity to praise her husband. Harry was speaking to school pupils at Wuse Lightway Academy – which is supported by their Archewell Foundation – about mental health. He said: “If you see your friend in your class not smiling, what are you going to do? “Are you going to check in on them? Are you going to ask them if they’re okay? Because it’s okay not to be okay.”

He also referred to people who have “lost a loved one in your family and you don’t know who to turn to or who to speak to”. The duke then handed the microphone to his wife and she took the opportunity to praise him.
