Rumors surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage have resurfaced, fueled by comments from Lady Colin Campbell, who has intensified speculation that the couple may be on the verge of separation. Recent reports and statements from royal insiders suggest that the Sussexes are reportedly leading increasingly separate lives, with some experts hinting that Meghan might soon make Prince Harry her next target for a breakup.
According to Radar Online, Meghan has distanced herself from various relationships, including family, close friends, and, notably, the British royal family. This behavior has led palace insiders to dub her the “Duchess Difficult,” citing her high standards and strong opinions. Meghan’s decisions to sever ties with family members, including her father, and her dramatic exit from royal duties—referred to as “Megxit”—underscore a pattern of decisiveness and a willingness to leave relationships behind.
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers commented on Meghan’s habit of taking a hard line with relationships. He pointed out a history of ending ties when they no longer serve her, referencing her past breakups with her first husband, Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson, and former friend Jessica Moroney, as well as her distancing from her father and other royal family members. Vickers noted that people generally act in character, suggesting Meghan could potentially do the same with Harry. As he explained, “She dumped her father, she dumped her first husband, she dumped a Canadian chef lover, she dumped Jessica Moroney, and she then dumped the entire British royal family. So, who’s going to be next for the chop? I think inevitably it’s probably Prince Harry. There will come a time when she thinks that she doesn’t need him.”
The biographer also speculated that if a split were to happen, Meghan might frame the narrative to position herself as the wronged party, casting Harry in a less favorable light. Recently, signs of independence have become more apparent between Harry and Meghan. While Harry embarked on a charity trip to the UK and attended events in New York, Meghan was notably absent from these appearances. Even on his milestone 40th birthday, Harry reportedly chose to hike with friends instead of celebrating at home with Meghan.
Lady Colin Campbell has voiced her own suspicions, noting that rumors of the couple’s rocky marriage have surfaced while King Charles and Queen Camilla are away in Australia. In response to the speculation, Lady C suggested that while Prince Harry may still be welcomed back into the royal fold by his father, it could take a significant shift for others to accept him. “I suppose they could have some form of rapprochement, but it would always be superficial. I understand that Catherine feels betrayed by Harry and would never trust him again. Charles loves his son and will always have a door open for him, especially if a divorce does happen.”
Lady C and other royal experts have echoed sentiments that Prince Harry’s influence outside the royal family has not met his expectations. While Meghan’s advocacy and media endeavors have kept her in the spotlight, Harry’s separation from royal duties has notably changed his public image. According to Lady C, without the royal platform, “Harry’s no global superstar; at best, he’s a global sensation.”

While critiquing Meghan’s tendency to seek advice only to ignore it, she maintained a slightly sympathetic view of Harry. Some speculate that Brown’s restrained comments may be an attempt to keep communication channels open with the palace. Lady C suggested that Brown might be positioning herself to assist Harry if he decides to return to the royal fold in the event of a divorce.
