King Charles reportedly laughed so hard during one interaction that his bodyguard feared for his health.

Recalling a meeting with the monarch, television chef Ken Hom said that he once left the King in stitches.

According to the MailOnline, Ken Hom – who created the official party lamb recipe for King Charles’s Coronation, has been left “devastated” by the monarch’s recent cancer diagnosis.

Mr Hom, who previously had the disease himself, said that he recently met the monarch for the first time in a numbers of years, and whilst having a short chat he made the monarch laugh so much that his bodyguard came to check on him.

He recalled: “When I saw the King last, I hadn’t seen him in a couple of years. I said ‘Hi, Sir, you don’t remember me, but the last time we met we both had hair and you still have yours’.”

The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden spoke to Mr Hom about their meeting at the Golden Chopsticks Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

According to the article, Mr Hom added: “He laughed so hard, his bodyguard came over to check [that] he was ok.”

The King was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year, and revealed the news publicly on February 5.

His diagnosis came after a short stay in hospital for an enlarged prostate, which remains unrelated to his diagnosis.

On Tuesday, the King made his first appearance at a royal engagement since his diagnosis two months ago.

He was seen beaming as he visited a cancer hospital, University College Hospital, in London.

Arriving at the Macmillan Cancer Centre with Queen Camilla, Charles flashed a smile as he began chatting to patients and staff.

The 75-year-old wanted to use his visit to highlight some of the innovative research, supported by Cancer Research UK.
