King Charles ‘angrier than anyone has ever seen him’ after Meghan Markle’s ‘rogue’ move

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly left King Charles and Prince William furious when they saw coverage of their trip to Nigeria.

King Charles was “angrier than anyone has ever seen him” after seeing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Nigeria visit last week, claims a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex infamously stepped down as senior working royals at the start of 2020, with Harry even stripped of several royal roles. The couple visited Nigeria last week – by invitation of the Nigerian military – as part of Harry’s Invictus Games and have been accused of treating the visit like a royal tour.

Speaking to the Mirror, royal author Tom Quinn said: “William is absolutely furious and determined to find a way to stop this happening in future. Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him.”

He added: “What’s really upset the applecart is the fact that the Nigerians treated Meghan and Harry as if they too thought this was an official tour – all the signs were there as the couple were greeted with dances, receptions, visits to schools and charities.”

Mr Quinn further explained that there had been concerns within the Royal Family that Meghan and Harry would “try and pull a fast one” and they now feel like this visit has “confirmed their worst fears”.

The expert added: “It’s as if Harry and Meghan have gone rogue – their Nigeria trip is a bold statement that they refuse to accept they are no longer working royals.

“William and Charles are scratching their heads and thinking, ‘How are we going to control this nightmare situation?'”

Explaining further about the actual visit being compared to a royal tour, Mr Quinn added: “Everything you might expect from an official Royal visit was there – the receptions, the visits to schools and charities, to wounded soldiers and the disabled.

“Meghan and Harry’s speeches and their whole attitude has been designed to give the impression that they are still fully paid-up royals and William and his father King Charles don’t like it one bit.”

The couple touched back down in the US on Monday. Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 2, are said to have been staying with thier maternal grandmother, Doria Ragland while their parents were in Nigeria.
