In a recent interview, Xavier Woods of The New Day made a bold prediction for the main event of WrestleMania 40’s second night. Woods believes the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will change hands.

Woods expressed his belief that Roman Reigns will lose his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to none other than Cody Rhodes. As the excitement builds for night two of WrestleMania 40, all eyes are on the epic clash for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The current champion, Roman Reigns, is gearing up to defend his title against the winner of the 2024 Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes.

However, Woods’ bold prediction adds an intriguing twist to the anticipation surrounding the event. Could Cody Rhodes indeed emerge victorious and dethrone the mighty Roman Reigns?

Xavier Woods Gave His Bold Prediction for Roman Reigns VS Cody Rhodes WrestleMania 40 Main Event Match

Xavier Woods has said that Roman Reigns’ long-standing reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is coming to an end at WrestleMania 40. Reigns has reigned as the Universal Champion for three and a half years, capturing the title back at Payback in 2020.

In a video from WWE Deutschland’s Facebook page, Xavier Woods predicted the result.
“No chance. There’s absolutely no way he walks out of WrestleMania with that championship. If he somehow manages to do so, I’ll have to watch my words, but I’m fully confident he won’t be champion after WrestleMania 40. Then, perhaps, we’ll have a champion who actually shows up and defends the title more regularly. Woods himself is gearing up for WrestleMania, where he’ll be competing in the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Ladder match. Meanwhile, all eyes are on Roman Reigns as he prepares to defend his title against Cody Rhodes in what promises to be an epic rematch of last year’s WrestleMania main event.

Roman Reigns is Closest to One Gigantic Record

Roman Reigns is on a historic run. Since his epic victory at Payback 2020, defeating Braun Strowman and the unforgettable Bray Wyatt to claim the WWE Universal Championship, he hasn’t looked back.  For a staggering 1,300 days, the title has remained firmly around his waist.

As anticipation builds for WrestleMania 40, where Reigns is slated to face off against Cody Rhodes, many speculate that this might be the event where the champion’s streak comes to an end. However, WWE’s booking strategy could potentially prolong Reigns’ reign to chase down a historic record previously held by the legendary Bruno Sammartino.

Earlier this year, Reigns surpassed Bruno Sammartino’s second reign record of 1,237 days. While this is an impressive feat in itself, it still pales in comparison to Sammartino’s unmatched reign of 2,803 days.

Roman Reigns stands as the only modern-era superstar even close to touching this gigantic record, currently holding the fourth spot for the longest championship reign. Will WrestleMania witness the fall of the champion, or will WWE rewrite history by extending Reigns’ reign? Only time will tell.
