Harry and Meghan’s neighbours are ‘sick of them’

Harry and Meghan ‘looking to sell’ £11m mansion as neighbours are ‘sick of them’

The Sussexes are reportedly ‘never seen’ at their Montecito home, which they share with their two children Archie and Lillibet.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly ready to leave their Montecito mansion after reports from neighbours that they’re ‘never in’.

The Sussexes live at the impressive £11m Montecito mansion with their two children, Archie and Lillibet.

And according to the Mirror, they’re reportedly looking at a cheaper £3m home in Malibu, California, after passing on the chance to purchase a plot of land at the end of last year.

Californian locals say the couple are “never seen” at their nine-bedroom property which was used to film parts of their bombshell Netflix series Harry & Meghan last year.

One local Barry Maher, a PR and communication whizz whose TV credits include the Today show and programmes on NBC, told The Mirror people are becoming irritated with the couple’s “travelling soap opera” amid the pair’s dramatic life in the spotlight.

“Harry and Meghan live down the street but in a considerably pricier spot, though nobody around here is exactly living in cardboard boxes,” he explained. “Since we never see them, local tolerance seems to mirror USA tolerance in general.

“People who like them seem to have an unlimited tolerance, no matter what they do, somehow tied to the ‘handsome prince falls for commoner’ fairytale. Everyone else is either unimpressed by the travelling soap opera or is just sick of hearing about them.”

Harry reportedly tried to ‘sabotage’ the couple’s move to Malibu in October last year after visiting New York City and feeling ‘at home’ there instead – despite the couple’s alleged high-speed chase through Manhattan in May.

A source said Harry enjoyed “the fast pace, the culture, the social scene.” They also said it would be easier for Harry to visit family in London if they lived in New York, as the flight time is shorter.

“Harry was all gung-ho for the Malibu move a few months ago. Yes, it was Meghan’s idea, but he was excited about it. It feels odd that now he wants out of that Californian life and is suggesting they buy a place in New York instead. It’s almost like he’s trying to sabotage things because it makes zero logical sense,” the source told Heat magazine.

They said Meghan is still hoping to remain near Los Angeles for work opportunities. The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly been travelling to LA for meetings “multiple times a week”, with work expected to increase as their projects go into production.

“She says maybe once they’ve made a success of things in Hollywood, they can look at getting a place in New York,” the source told the magazine back in October.
