Prince Harry broke cover today to brief NATO officials in New York but royal fans had one thing to say.

Prince Harry made a new appearance today but some royal fans were not impressed.

The Duke of Sussex appeared via video at the NATO military committee in New York to speak about how “the unconquerable heroes of Invictus symbolise strength, perseverance and resilience”.

Harry’s passion project, the Invictus Games, supports wounded, injured and sick service members and veterans.

While the duke was seen addressing the NATO officials from his home in Montecito, California, the charity was represented by a delegation that attended in person and included Dominic Reid, Chief Executive of Invictus; Lord Allen, Chancellor of the Board of Trustees; and Richard Smith, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

However, Harry’s appearance at the meeting was not perceived well by some royal fans who took to social media to express their views.

One user wrote on X: “This is a f*****g joke. What country does Harry represent? What experience or wisdom can he offer? Do better. The world is laughing at @NATO.”

A second one agreed: “It’s embarrassing seeing a Z-list celebrity who these days is a bit of a joke being given a platform by NATO. He is all about publicity-seeking stunts to keep himself relevant.”

A third one opined: “With all due respect, Sir, a veteran with legitimate, verified combat experience would have been a much better choice. This one not only lacks that experience, but his only involvement with that organisation is for self-aggrandisement. He is a disgrace.”

However, others were keen to see the duke speak at such a high-profile event.

One user said: “I know he’s British but am I allowed to call him a Statesman? He’s out there doing real work that matters. Just proud of him.”

Another one wrote: “As usual. When he needs to be, he is a very serious man.”

A third one chimed: “Go Prince Harry!”

A fourth one said: “Prince Harry out here doing serious work with serious people.”

A fifth one added: “Look at our Prince Harry here briefing NATO.”
