Carol Kirkwood was left blushing after her colleague almost took the weather presenter down for a cheeky on-air kiss. The meteorologist delivered her latest forecast on Monday’s edition of BBC Breakfast before the show was abruptly halted.

The 62-year-old, who tied the knot with her husband Steve last year, was left in shock when what, at first appeared to be a passerby, leaned in to grab the forecaster for a cheeky on-screen kiss.

Carol delivered her latest forecast in Covent Garden in London where fake snow fell as she spoke directly to Jon Kay and Sally Nugent who were live in the BBC studios.

She commented, “It’s really falling now… It’s fabulous.”

Sally replied, “How did you manage that? I always knew you had special powers but that is another level.”

Carol, who had been wearing mistletoe, admitted she had not had much luck with it before a passerby came on screen and grabbed the weather presenter.

She commented: “My mistletoe… it hasn’t done any tricks this morning.”

The man in question suddenly appeared as he pulled Carol into his arms for a cheeky on-air kiss as she yelped.

A flustered Carol commented, “Oh, I say… Tim.”

Sally and Jon chuckled following the on-air interruption as Carol confirmed to viewers the man in question was her colleague.

She said: “That’s Tim our science engineer. We’re good friends. I wasn’t expecting that.”

Jon chuckled: “She’s blushing.”

Sally cheekily remarked: “No she’s not. Although, I’m sure they’re really good friends now.”

Viewers reacted to the cheeky on-air moment on X as one person wrote: “OMG!” While another added: “That was hilarious.”

Queen Camilla has revealed what Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis rush to do when they get to Balmoral for their summer holidays.

In the documentary Charles III: The Coronation Year, which aired on BBC One last December, King Charles and the rest of the Royal Family allow the cameras an intimate glimpse into their inner life.

During one moment from the documentary, the King and Queen can be seen walking their dog around the Balmoral estate, with them crossing a footbridge over a river.

Camilla, 77, turns to the cameras and says: “It’s lovely to bounce on, that bridge. Every child, when they come here, they rush there and bounce about on the bridge for hours.”

Kate and William are known to enjoy taking their children to the secluded estate each summer, with George, Charlotte and Louis getting to spend some quality time there with their paternal grandfather and cousins.

As well as Kate and William’s children, other young members of the family also enjoy spending time at Balmoral – which was previously known as one of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s favourite royal residences.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are currently spending time at another one of the royal’s beloved estates, Sandringham.

Alzheimer’s Society has partnered with ITV to run a special campaign, which will run around some of their show announcements, from 23-31 December.

Throughout Christmas, ITV viewers will notice a change in the messages between shows, as Alzheimer’s Society has partnered with the network to broadcast the campaign.

Ruth, 64, who is an ambassador for Alzheimer’s Society, expressed her support for the cause, saying: “I’m delighted to be voicing the important messages for this year’s campaign.

Sheriff of the Hamilton County police department in Tennessee expressed his fury over a deputy of his who was arrested last week for allegedly soliciting and ‘sexually exploiting’ a 13-year-old girl.

The pre-teen’s father apparently discovered text messages between the victim and 25-year-old Johnathan Allen, a corrections deputy who graduated from a “basic law enforcement academy” just last month. The messages were ‘sexual in nature.’

Sheriff Austin Garrett said in a Dec. 5 statement: “I am furious over the alleged actions … and the disgusting nature of these charges. The HCSO holds our personnel to the highest of standards and this type of alleged behavior will not be tolerated.”

Allen has been placed on Administrative Leave pending a pre-disciplinary hearing, which will be held immediately per Civil Service rules. According to the sheriff’s department, an HCSO internal affairs investigation has also been initiated in addition to the ongoing criminal investigation.

Police charged Allen with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of criminal solicitation of a minor.

According to NBC affiliate WRCB, Allen met the girl on Reddit, telling her his name was ‘Josh.’ After a short conversation, he asked for her number and began texting back and forth with her. Police said they aren’t sure if he was planning to meet up with the teen. He did, however, ask for photos and videos of the minor.

The messages showed that they had spoken and at some point the girl questioned Allen’s age, as his ‘voice sounded mature.’ But he told the girl that he had just ‘gone through puberty.’

Police first received the report at the York County Sheriff’s Office, eventually tracing it back to Allen in Tennessee. Officers got an arrest warrant from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and searched Allen’s electronic devices on Thursday, December 5.

Another big case was opened in Pennsylvania last week when a Cumberland County pastor came under investigation for allegedly paying for sex acts after he visited a massage parlor in Pennsylvania that was recently shut down after it was accused of trafficking humans.

Stephen R. Melton was charged with at least two offenses after police claimed that the pastor paid for the sexual acts at least 68 times.

According to the Big Spring Presbyterian Church, Melton has been a priest since October 31, 2022. The investigation began when two massage parlors in Carlisle — Li’s Asian Massage and GL Massage — were shut down as a part of a nationwide crackdown in combatting human trafficking, reported Penn Live.

The man accused of setting a woman on fire inside a New York City subway train used a shirt to fan the flames, according to a prosecutor at his arraignment on murder charges on Tuesday.

Prosecutors today alleged that the suspect, Sebastian Zapeta, 33, approached the woman, who may have been sleeping on the train, and set her clothing on fire with a lighter.

Zapeta then fanned the flames with a shirt, engulfing her in fire, Assistant District Attorney Ari Rottenberg stated in court on Tuesday.

After the attack, Zapeta reportedly sat on a bench on the subway platform and watched, Rottenberg added. The victim’s identification is still pending.

Zapeta faces two counts of murder, accusing him of intentionally killing the woman and killing her while committing arson. He also faces one count of arson.

The top charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez described the attack as a “gruesome and senseless act of violence” and vowed it would be “met with the most serious consequences.”

The seemingly random attack took place Sunday morning on an F train stopped at the Coney Island station.

According to Rottenberg, Zapeta told detectives that he didn’t know what happened but identified himself in images of the attack. Zapeta’s lawyer, public defender Andrew Friedman, did not speak to reporters after the arraignment.

A message seeking comment was left for him. Video on social media appears to show some people looking on from the platform and at least one police officer walking by while the woman is on fire inside the train.

NYPD Transit Chief Joseph Gulotta said Sunday that several officers responded to the fire and one stayed to keep the crime scene “the way it’s supposed to be” while the others went to get fire extinguishers and transit workers.”

Officers on patrol on that station’s upper level smelled and saw smoke and went to investigate. What they saw was a person standing inside the train car fully engulfed in flames,” Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

They eventually put the fire out, but “unfortunately, it was too late,” Tisch said, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Zapeta was taken into custody Sunday afternoon while riding a train on the same subway line after teenagers recognized him from images circulated by the police.

A Brooklyn address for Zapeta released by police matches a shelter that provides housing and substance abuse support. The shelter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Federal immigration officials said Zapeta was deported in 2018 but later reentered the U.S. illegally.

The crime has fed into a growing sense of unease among New Yorkers regarding subway safety, further stirred by the chilling video circulating on social media. “It creeped me out real bad,” Deandre Nelson, 22, admitted after witnessing the attack.

Policing New York’s subway presents unique challenges due to its immense scale, incorporating trains running through 472 stations with countless entry points, spanning multiple floors and platforms.

Multiple people have been injured, including a child, after a taxi plowed into several pedestrians in New York City’s bustling Herald Square.

The horror unfolded at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 34th Street, right outside the iconic multistory Macy’s department store.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the crash was intentional or a simple accident nor how many people were hit, just that several people were taken to local hospitals, all in stable condition.

Herald Square is a busy hub that features many stores, including the iconic multistory Macy’s
Dean Moses, a reporter for AMNewYork, a local free newspaper, shot videos of the scene, which show first responders gathered around a taxi with its hood popped.

Reports from the Citizen app, which allows residents to report what they witness in real time, indicate that six people, including a child, were injured, which Moses confirmed with local first responders.

The severity of those injuries is yet in question, however — one Citizen report indicates that three sustained minor injuries while three others were seriously hurt. None of the injuries were described as life-threatening, however.

Those injuries were later confirmed by the police, who told ABC7 New York that one individual was taken to Bellevue Hospital and two to Cornell in serious condition. Those taken to Cornell were a 9-year-old boy and 41-year-old woman, presumably a mother-son duo, while a 49-year-old woman was taken to Bellevue.

The other three people injured — the ones not taken to the two aforementioned hospitals — were described as stable. They are ages 19, 37 and 49.

Moses reported that the taxi jumped a curb, which is when it struck the individuals who were injured. The crash happened just after 4 p.m. The police confirmed to CBS News that the taxi jumped the curb.

The police confirmed to ABC7 New York that the driver experienced a medical episode, which caused him to veer off the road. Not much is known beyond that, just that he is a 58-year-old man.

A heavy police presence following the incident led to road closures and severe traffic delays, including for some public transportation modes, including buses. Subway lines didn’t appear to be delayed as a result of the Herald Square incident.

Herald Square attracts thousands of people daily for its shopping, including at the massive Macy’s, which often sees Christmas Day influxes of customers.
