Boxing fans make same complaint after Jose Mourinho spotted ringside for Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou

‘The Special One’ is in Riyadh for the blockbuster fight.

Boxing fans have said the same thing after Jose Mourinho was spotted ringside in Riyadh before Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou.

Joshua and Ngannou will do battle at around 11pm UK time in a fight billed as ‘Knockout Chaos’.

A host of high-profile names from across the sporting world are in attendance at the event, including Manny Pacquiao, Tyson Fury, and even Real Madrid and Brazil legend Ronaldo.

Mourinho, meanwhile, has been spotted sitting in the front rows of the venue alongside the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh.

It has been a busy evening for Mourinho, who walked out with the trophy prior to the Egypt Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek – which also took place in Saudi Arabia.

He made a rapid journey across to the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh to take in the boxing action on what has been a highly-anticipated card.

But after seeing Mourinho and the reaction he received from those in attendance upon appearing on the big screen, plenty of boxing fans had the same complaint regarding the event as a whole.

One fan wrote: “Biggest cheer of the night so far was for Jose Mourinho. Cracking atmosphere…”

Another agreed: “Hahahaha only cheer of the night so far for Jose Mourinho.”

A third opined: “The atmosphere for boxing in Saudi is absolutely shocking.”

Mourinho is currently out of work after being sacked by Roma earlier this year.

The Portuguese icon delivered a Europa Conference League title to Rome in 2022, and reached the Europa League final last season, but a challenging run of form around the turn of the year into 2024 proved to be his undoing.

He has admitted that he has received job offers since he departed the club, but has yet to accept one.

Mourinho has been linked with a return to Chelsea, and with the soon-to-be vacant role at Bayern Munich once Thomas Tuchel leaves at the end of the current season.

UFC legend Nate Diaz makes crazy ‘real fight’ claim about Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua

Nate Diaz called out Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

UFC legend Nate Diaz has made a crazy ‘real fight’ claim about boxing superstars Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Diaz walked away from the UFC following his submission victory over fellow MMA legend Tony Ferguson as he took on Jake Paul in a boxing bout.

But he dropped a decision to ‘The Problem Child’ in his debut inside a squared circle.

However, the Stockton slugger likes his chances against WBC world heavyweight champion Fury and former title holder Joshua, claiming he’ll ‘f**k up’ the pair of British fighters in a ‘real fight’.

He made his outrageous claim while smoking a spliff in typical style.

Speaking to social media influencer Sneako, who recently got beat up by former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland in a spar, Diaz exclaimed: “I’ll f**k up Tyson Fury. I’ll f**k up Anthony Joshua. All these motherf**kers in a real fight, like, they don’t stand a chance. And then it’s like, we’ve got, everybody’s going on boxing [Floyd] Mayweather.”

The 38-year-old added: “We’re playing a little game… I don’t like being like, labeled as an ‘MMA fighter’.

    “I’m a boxer. I’m a Jiu-Jitsu guy. I’m a kickboxer. I don’t like any of the one-dimensional things by itself anyway. I like it all.”

Nate Diaz says he would f*** up Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in a “real fight” 😬

Diaz hasn’t fought since his defeat to Paul last August.

Being a free agent, he’s able to fight in any discipline or promotion.

Despite leaving the UFC, he eyed a spot on UFC 300, calling for a showdown against former foe Conor McGregor.

However, he doesn’t think he’ll compete on the April 13 card.

Asked about a fight at UFC 300, he replied: “I wanted to, but I don’t think so. I think I wanna do boxing, fight another fighter.

“I could fight anybody in the world right now, but no one can fight me. Everybody’s locked down to organisations, locked down to the UFC, PFL.”

  • Mike Tyson’s troubled times: After being wheelchair-bound due to sciatica, struggling to overcome his cocaine addiction and being on the verge of dying… the boxing icon, 57, is returning against 27-year-old Jake Paul

Mike Tyson’s troubled times: After being wheelchair-bound due to sciatica, struggling to overcome his cocaine addiction and being on the verge of dying… the boxing icon, 57, is returning against 27-year-old Jake Paul

The early chapters of Mike Tyson‘s life read like a rags-to-riches fairy tale. Born and raised in the gritty neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York, Tyson found solace and discipline in the sport of boxing. Under the tutelage of legendary trainer Cus D’Amato, Tyson honed his craft with an intensity and ferocity that surpassed his young age.

Tyson won his first 19 professional fights by knockout – 12 of them in the first round – and became youngest boxer ever to win a heavyweight title at 20 years, 4 months, and 22-days-old.

But, with fame came a host of personal demons that would haunt Tyson for years to come. His tumultuous relationships, legal entanglements, and struggles with addiction to cocaine and alcohol became fodder for tabloid headlines.

Now, Tyson is set to return to the ring at 57 years old to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in what they are hoping will be confirmed as a sanctioned fight in Arlington Texas.

So, with the above in mind, Mail Sport have taken a look back at Tyson’s tumultuous journey through the ages – dissecting what can only be described as one of the most compelling narratives in sport.

Born on June 30, 1966, in Brooklyn, Tyson’s early life was marked by poverty, crime, and hardship. Raised by a single mother in the rough neighborhoods of Brooklyn, Tyson found himself drawn to the streets, where he quickly gained a reputation for his ferocious temper and fighting prowess.

He was in and out of juvenile detention centers before finding his true calling at the gym. Under the guidance of D’Amato, Tyson honed his skills with a dedication and intensity that set him apart from his peers.

By the age of 20, Tyson had become the heavyweight champion of the world, a feat that made him the youngest boxer ever to hold the title.

With his lightning-fast speed, devastating power, and uncanny ability to intimidate opponents, Tyson was a force to be reckoned with inside the ring. His fights became must-see events, drawing millions of viewers and catapulting him to global superstardom.

But, it wasn’t all plain sailing for Tyson. His personal life was spiraling out of control, leading to a series of high-profile incidents that threatened to derail his career and his life.

One of the defining moments of Tyson’s career came in 1990 when he faced off against James ‘Buster’ Douglas in Tokyo, Japan. Considered a mere formality by many, Tyson was expected to dispatch Douglas with ease.

However, Douglas had other plans. In one of the greatest upsets in boxing history, Douglas knocked out Tyson in the 10th round, ending his reign as heavyweight champion and sending shockwaves throughout the boxing world.

Despite the setback against Douglas, Tyson continued to compete at the highest level, reclaiming the heavyweight title in 1996 with a victory over Frank Bruno. His comeback was short-lived, however, as Tyson’s personal demons continued to plague him, leading to a series of legal troubles and controversies both inside and outside the ring.

In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington and sentenced to six years in prison, although he was released on parole after three.

Tyson has always stated everything between him and Washington had taken place with her full consent and denied reports stating he had forced himself on her.

Meanwhile, Tyson’s former wife – actor Robin Givens – said in divorce papers that their late-1980s marriage was plagued by ‘unprovoked rages of violence and destruction.’

Describing his time in prison, Tyson explained on an episode of The Pivot podcast: ‘I’m just very grateful – I’m a cool guy, I’m a good person, I treated everybody nice. I had the best three years of my life in prison.’

Tyson revealed how he kept up an impressive training routine while behind bars to prepare him for his return to professional boxing.

‘I was doing running,’ he revealed, ‘Doing eight or nine miles around. And at night time I would run for four hours, just in my room. I would jump and stuff, just jumping up.’

Tyson finished by saying: ‘My cell has a concrete floor, right? I indented it with my feet into the concrete floor. I was 285lbs. I came out 215lbs.’

After his release from prison, Tyson fought Peter McNeeley, a 27-year-old American boxer who had 36 professional wins to his name. McNeeley was confident he could beat Iron Mike given the fact he stopped his previous opponent inside six seconds via technical knockout (TKO).

However, Tyson knocked McNeeley down inside the first 10 seconds. He did return to his feet, but he looked dazed. After being knocked down for a second time, McNeeley’s manager Vinnie Vecchionie burst into the ring to stop the fight.

When asked what that victory meant to him, Tyson said: ‘Yeah, it was, “I’m back from prison motherf***ers, y’all didn’t break me. My ego was going crazy and stuff”. Everybody was talking, “Mike is over, he’s in prison, nobody ever came back from prison and was the same guy. I just wanted to change their minds”.’

Nevertheless, Tyson continued to land himself in trouble – especially when he stunned the sporting world by biting Evander Holyfield’s ear twice during their world title bout in 1997.

In his autobiography The Undisputed Truth, Tyson also revealed how he had taken marijuana and cocaine before his fight against Lou Savarese in 2000, and admitted to taking drugs prior to his defeat by Danny Williams in 2004.

It was an addiction Tyson has struggled with for years. He even revealed how he was ‘on the verge of dying’ and admitted to lying about his progress ahead an interview with The Fight Network in November 2020.

‘I want to change my life,’ said Tyson. ‘I want to live a different life now. I want to live my sober life. I don’t want to die. I’m on the verge of dying because I’m a vicious alcoholic.

Tyson is said to be suffering from an ‘old back issue’ that has flared up again

‘I haven’t drank or took drugs in six days, and for me that’s a miracle. I’ve been lying to everybody else who thinks I was sober, but I’m not. This is my sixth day. I’m never going to use again.’

Tyson previously inferred on his Hotboxin’ podcast that he did not believe he had long left to live. Concerns over his health were further heightened in August 2022 when photos showed him wheelchair-bound while also clutching a walking stick.

Shortly after the photographs were published, Tyson revealed he has been suffering with with sciatica – a condition where the nerve which runs from your lower back to your feet, is irritated or compressed.

‘I have sciatica every now and then, it flares up. When it flares up, I can’t even talk! Thank God it’s the only health problem I have. I’m splendid now,’ he said. ‘Everybody in my house is truly blessed and we’re all very grateful for whatever we have.’

The condition, which usually lasts from four to six weeks, impacts nerve endings in the body with Tyson appearing to be suffering with complications related to his back.

Concerns over Tyson’s back came in 2002 when he blurted out: ‘I broke my back, my back is broken. Spinal!’ after losing to Lennox Lewis. He clarified what he meant during an interview in 2020.

Tyson told Compubox TV: ‘Well listen right, I have a bad back and since all of the work that I’ve put over the years, the spine in my back just starts shifting. It’s not good.’

The American superstar also told rapper Angie Martinez during an episode of his Hotboxin’ podcast (available on YouTube), that he has a ‘cage’ in his spine.

His wife, Lakiha Spicer, clarified that he had two vertebrae removed from his body and titanium rods inserted. Yet, in 2021 Tyson overcame his back issues to step into the ring for an exhibition against former multi-weight division title-winner Roy Jones Jr. The WBC unofficially called the bout a draw.

Now, at the age of 57, Tyson is set to return to the ring once again, this time to face off against YouTube sensation turned professional boxer, Jake Paul. However, boxing fans are questioning the wisdom of Tyson’s decision to step back into the ring at his age.

They are concerned about the former heavyweight champion after he admitted to being bedbound following a pads session in preparation for the 27-year-old.

‘Let me tell you something about that video. I filmed that video and I was in bed for a week. That was 30 seconds and I was in bed for a week. It’s not funny because it made me realise that this is big-boy s***.’

A number of high-profile figures in the sport are therefore concerned about Tyson – who is turning 58 in June – taking on a fighter as young and heavy-handed as Paul.

Eddie Hearn believes it will be ‘really sad’ to see Tyson return to the ring against Paul.

‘For me it’s really sad because Mike Tyson was one of my idols growing up, and to see him fighting at 57, 58… but I also understand that a lot of people are going to tune in and watch,’ Hearn told Mail Sport. ‘It’s an entertainment event, Netflix, great to see them involved in boxing. I think it will do really well. But it’s just not really one for me.’

According to combat-sports journalist Ariel Helwani, Paul and Tyson’s bout may not even be classed as an exhibition, with promoters understood to be pushing for a pro contest.

‘They’re still working on a few important details based on the conversations that I’ve had,’ Helwani said on his latest MMA Hour show. ‘Is it pro or is it exhibition? They want pro, obviously that’s up to the Texas Commission. We’ll wait and see.

‘Weight, I’m told heavyweight. Rounds working on that as well.’

Former British heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora recently claimed that Paul and Tyson will be wearing headguards and using 18oz gloves in a sparring-style fight, a rumor which was shut down by Helwani.

Instead, organizers are reportedly keen for the bout to resemble a standard pro encounter – something Tyson hasn’t taken part in since 2005.

The former world heavyweight champion quit in his final contest 19 years ago, with journeyman Kevin McBride forcing him to throw in the towel on both the fight and his career before the start of the seventh round.

However, Tyson is confident he can dismantle Paul – taking to social media to tell the YouTuber-turned-boxer his time is over.

But, it remains to be seen how Tyson with fare.

Tyson Fury poses with Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford as the Man United fan tells Erik ten Hag’s men to ‘get stuck right in’ against Liverpool

Tyson Fury was in the FA Cup spirit on Sunday as the British heavyweight superstar was in attendance at Old Trafford, offering some advice for Erik ten Hag’s side and posing for a picture with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson before kick-off.

The Gypsy King is building up to what is set to be a titanic heavyweight unification fight in May up against Oleksandr Usyk in order to produce the first undisputed champion in the division since Lennox Lewis.

A lifetime Manchester United fan, Fury was in attendance at Old Trafford ahead of kick-off between the two North West rivals to offer his own bit of advice for Ten Hag‘s side, who come into the clash as heavy underdogs.

‘In my opinion, Liverpool vs Manchester United is the most looked-forward to match of the season. Hopefully United can turn the clock back and smash them.’

But when asked how they should go about doing that, Fury looked to a technique that he claims has served him well in his own career as an unbeaten 35-fight heavyweight champion.

‘Just go out there and attack, put pressure on them, put your best foot forward and get stuck right in.

‘That usually works – it’s worked for me anyway 35 times in a row so, that’s a good tactic!’

United seemed to have heard what the Gypsy King had to say, racing into a 1-0 lead via Scott McTominay in the 10th minute of the game, though Liverpool struck through Alexis Mac Allister and Mo Salah to lead before the break.

It was an eventful afternoon for the heavyweight star, who was also in esteemed company with a number of legends from both United and Liverpool.

He took to Instagram to share a snap with Ferguson, the pair posing for the camera, and Fury simply captioned the post: ‘Legendary Sir Alex.’

The 35-year-old is building up to his clash with Usyk on May 18, and has taken to social media as he begins his pre-fight camp to send a message to the Ukraine as well as his millions of followers.

Fury has been chomping at the bit since the fight was postponed from its original date of February 17 after he suffered a nasty cut above his eye in training.

‘So today, it’s our nine-week anniversary until Usyk gets f***ing battered,’ Fury said in an Instagram video on March 16, trailed by fellow runners.

‘And we’re out on the front this morning, little team of us, and we’re going to jog about, I don’t know, eight, nine, ten miles.

‘Might even do a half-marathon today, who knows?

In the spring of 1985, one special young man had his debut fight. Back then no one knew that he was aught to become the most recognizable boxer in history – Mike Tyson. He broke into the ring demolishing one opponent after another on his path, youth, speed, and onslaught made the fights with his participation bright and spectacular. In this episode, we will show you the destructive power, the lightning speed and malicious aggression of the legendary Mike Tyson.

Fan pulverized by Mike Tyson lawyers up without revealing intentions

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is hanging under a cloud as lawyers circle for a piece of his fortune.

Tyson could face a lawsuit despite the man he punched on a flight initially deciding not to press charges.

Melvin Townsend didn’t take the situation further when Tyson battered him with uppercuts during the JetBlue journey.

Townsend had been annoying Tyson from the seat behind to the point where “The Baddest Man on the Planet” snapped.

Tyson’s team says his harasser threw a water bottle before he reacted with force. Townsend has since hired a lawyer who says that action was excessive.

Attorney Matt Morgan got drafted in by Townsend, who sees the publicity as an opportunity to file a lawsuit.

Morgan spoke to TMZ, the source which first broke the Mike Tyson story.

“Our client is a big Mike Tyson fan. When Mike Tyson boarded the plane, he became overly excited. At first, their interaction was cordial,” insisted Morgan.

“At a certain point, Mr. Tyson clearly became agitated by an overly excited fan and began to strike him excessively.

“This situation could have been avoided simply by contacting the flight attendant. Our client denies throwing a water bottle prior to being struck by Mr. Tyson.”

    MIKE TYSON CHARGES

As we reported, Tyson’s team told TMZ Townsend had thrown a water bottle at Tyson before Mike unleashed it on him.

Police asked Townsend if he wanted to press charges at the time. But he declined, and both went their separate ways.

Upon reflection, Townsend and his team think Tyson could have held back on the beating.

“To state the obvious, as one of the greatest fighters of all time, Mr. Tyson should have exercised greater restraint before using his hands on an overly excited fan,” added Morgan.

According to TMZ, Townsend hired an attorney for four reasons.

They are A] That he is “still in shock and has not decided on his next steps” and B] That he has physical injuries.

C] “The overwhelming nature of this event and D] the associated media inquiries.”

No mention of a potential cash settlement, though.

  • Tyson Fury: Ngannou’s great puncher trained by Mike Tyson; I’m not the best at what I do because I’m vulnerable

Tyson Fury: Ngannou’s great puncher trained by Mike Tyson; I’m not the best at what I do because I’m vulnerable

Francis Ngannou offered four words when he was asked Thursday what will happen if he lands a flush punch on Tyson Fury next month.

“Good night,” Ngannou replied during their press conference in London. “Lights off.”

An unfazed Fury acknowledged that he won’t know until Ngannou lands a clean shot on him during their 10-round exhibition October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia whether the former UFC heavyweight champion punches harder than Deontay Wilder or Wladimir Klitschko, the two pulverizing punchers Fury defeated in title fights over the past 7½ years. England’s Fury also reminded Ngannou that he has emerged as the best heavyweight of this era because he mostly avoids punches and has gotten up when Wilder drilled him with devastating shots.

“Listen, the guy’s a big puncher,” Fury told Queensberry Promotions’ Dev Sahni, who moderated the press conference. “You can see he’s very big and strong and very well built. But, you know, I’ve fought big punchers before, like Deontay Wilder, and I even fought the old ‘Dr. Steelhammer,’ Wladimir Klitschko. And the one thing that both of them had in common were they both were massive punchers, but they both couldn’t land it when it counted.”

Fury feels Ngannou, who will make his professional boxing debut, will deal with the same frustration Fury’s defense caused Klitschko in a 12-round fight Fury won by unanimous decision in November 2015. Ukraine’s Klitschko was a 4-1 favorite who had won 22 straight fights and owned at least one world title for 9½ years when Fury upset him at Esprit Arena in Duesseldorf, Germany.

Fury remains undefeated (33-0-1, 24 KOs) almost eight years after his career-changing victory over Klitschko.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Ngannou has displayed power in MMA matches, 12 of which he has won by knockout. The Cameroon-born Ngannou has been especially effective with his left uppercut, yet the 6-foot-9, 270-pound Fury’s upper body movement, very impressive for a boxer his size, enables the WBC champion to slip punches much more often than not.

“It’s OK being a big, strong puncher and hitting a target that don’t move,” Fury said. “But it’s pretty difficult hitting this hand at full power when it’s moving like that. So, you can’t hit what you can’t see. And, you know, I’m not the best at what I do because I’m easy to hit. I’m the best at what I do because I’m the most elusive world champion in history. And that’s facts. ESPN will back that up.

“So, yeah, if [Ngannou] can land it on me, he’s definitely got good aim and he’s been training. I don’t think he can. I don’t think anyone can land it on me. That’s a fact. And if they do, I’ll just get back up. Because I get knocked down, but I get up again. You’re never gonna keep me down. And that’s what it is, so yeah, can’t wait.”

He RIDICULED Mike Tyson.. But Was Soon KNOCKED OUT! This Is Not To Be Forgotten

It takes a lot of courage to be able to mock Tyson.. in this case, the olympic gold medalist Tyrell Biggs thought it would be a good idea to ridicule Tyson and as we see in the video.. it didn’t go well for him

The full video shows Mike Tyson was right to smash annoying fan

Boxing legend Mike Tyson had every right to react on a flight after getting harassed by the 36-year-old man.

The full video of the incident shows an annoying fan goading the champ during a flight, leading to a heated reaction.

During the video purchased by TMZ and circulated worldwide, Tyson is sitting in front of the man. The guy then gestures behind Tyson’s seat as a fellow passenger rolls their camera phone.

Moments later, and after the annoyance escalated, a different video angle further down the plane shows Tyson standing over him, smashing his face.

A comical moment subsequently ensued where the original camera displayed the man looking sorry for himself with blood pouring from his head.

The incident blew up in a viral capacity, making the harasser famous for his trouble and showing that you will get a good hiding if you poke a former heavyweight champion to that extent,

Tyson was trying to enjoy a flight and going about his business. He should not have had to deal with what transpired.

It’s a lesson to anyone who thinks a reaction won’t be forthcoming in this day and age.

The incident is also a prime example of Mike Tyson’s quote regarding the new breed of millennials who grew up without awareness.

“Social Media made you all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it,” stated Tyson.

His words came in response to trolling on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as the scene exploded.

    MIKE TYSON

Mike Tyson is only a human being. If anyone took that amount of badgering on a flight, they would be hard-pressed not to react.

Maybe not to that extent and not to condone violence, but he’s a professional fighter and giving someone a beating what he does.

Mike Tyson is a fine-tuned punching machine. It’s not like he hasn’t fought for fifteen years these days. He was only in the ring in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr.

Therefore, that killer instinct remains. Everyone should respect it. That’s a warning to anyone who shares a flight with Tyson in the coming months.

    He’s a bad man.

  • Mike Tyson Only Named One Of His Seven Kids After Himself And It Was His Daughter

Mike Tyson Only Named One Of His Seven Kids After Himself And It Was His Daughter

There’s nothing weird about a parent naming their children after themselves. After all, there are a multitude of reasons for why people might do it.

Maybe their own name has been passed down and they want to carry on a tradition. Or perhaps, they simply want have a string connecting them to their offspring.

Either way, it’s a common practice in the parenting world. But as with most things, celebrities have taken this and made it…well, weird.

    Take Mike Tyson for example.

Admittedly, you might not expect a guy who bit off somebody’s ear to play it safe with baby names.

So, does the legendary boxer have a Mike in his flock?

Indeed he does! But it’s his daughter – named Mikey Lorna Tyson.

She was born in Harlem, New York City and raised by her mother, Kimberly Scarborough. The former model dated Tyson shortly after his divorce from Robin Givens in 1989.

Meanwhile, the rest of his children are called Exodus, Miguel, Amir, Ramsay – formerly known as Rayna – Milan and Morocco Tyson.

However, Tyson’s not the only celebrity to take an unorthodox route when naming his next of kin.

Michael Jackson managed to incorporate his name into his three kids’ names.

    Seriously.

First there was Michael Joseph ‘Prince’ Jackson Jr, born in 1997. Then came his only daughter, Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson, born a year later.

Okay, a little lazy but he managed to get his name in there somewhere. And lastly came his youngest, Prince Michael ‘Blanket’ Jackson II.

Jackson’s brother, Jermaine, took a similar route whilst naming his sons. His eldest got a matching name – Jermaine Jackson Jr.

    Fair enough.

But when it came time to give his youngest a spin on the name, Jermaine took a regal approach shall we say.

    Jermajesty Jackson, anyone?

Courteney Cox also opted to name her daughter after a nickname.

Coco came from the first tow letters of Cox’s own name – according to her ex-husband, David Arquette.

    That’s at least original.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith also named their kids after themselves, but not in a way that many would expect.

You might be wondering why you’ve never heard of a Will Smith Jr or a Jada Pinkett Smith Jr.

Well, the Hollywood couple opted to be different by gender flipping their own names.

Behold, Willow Smith and Jaden Smith.

But that took a while for people online to realise – with the penny finally dropping this year as one person tweeted: “I was today years old when I realized jaden and willow smith’s names are just their parents names in different forms???? Goodbye.”

Celebrities always have to go about things differently, don’t they?

Deontay Wilder asserted that he would thoroughly defeat a prime Mike Tyson, adding that no one could ever knock him out.

Deontay Wilder has maintained his claim that he could defeat even a prime Mike Tyson, despite the latter’s legendary status as one of the greatest heavyweight fighters in boxing history.

In February, Wilder reiterated his belief that he would have been victorious against Tyson during his peak. Despite Tyson’s widespread acclaim as “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” the Bronze Bomber remains steadfast in his assertion that he would “kick the hell” out of the boxing icon.

In 2018, Deontay Wilder openly expressed to TMZ that if he were to face Mike Tyson in his prime year of 1986, he firmly believed he would defeat him convincingly.

He confidently stated, “Me vs Tyson in ’86, I’d kick the hell outta that guy. Listen, I’ve got to keep it real. I know people always go back to the old school or look at the new school and there’s no school where I’m not No1 on Earth.”

It’s worth noting that Deontay Wilder’s highly anticipated fight against Tyson Fury in December of the same year ended in a controversial draw, leaving fans and analysts with mixed opinions on the outcome.

In the week leading up to this year’s rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, Wilder reaffirmed his belief that he would defeat Mike Tyson in his prime. He emphasized his confidence in his abilities, claiming that his natural killer instinct set him apart from others and that nobody could ever knock him out.

In an interview with EsNews, Wilder elaborated on the advantages he believed he possessed over Tyson, stating that his hand speed, height, reach, athleticism, and footwork all played significant roles in giving him an edge in a potential matchup.

While acknowledging Mike Tyson’s greatness in his era, Wilder firmly believed that the new era of boxing, with its technological advancements, should favor the new-school fighters like himself.

His unwavering confidence in his skills and his assertion that nobody could match his natural killer instinct showcased his determination to prove his mettle in the ring.

Despite his confident claims, Deontay Wilder, who is 34 years old, faced a humbling defeat as he was knocked out and left sprawled on the canvas in the seventh round of his rematch with Tyson Fury. However, the defeat hasn’t deterred him from seeking redemption. Wilder has exercised his option for a trilogy bout with Fury, indicating his determination to regain his position and prove himself in the ring once again.

Tyson Fury’s remarkable body transformation as he hits the gym for £100m Oleksandr Usyk fight… looking in his best shape EVER after he struggled last time out

Tyson Fury‘s body transformation ahead of his undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk has left fans in disbelief.

The Gypsy King looks as ripped as ever with just under two months until his bout with the Ukrainian.

The heavyweight world will seek to elect a unified champion for the first time in 24 years on May 18, with a reported £100million purse up for grabs.

Boxing followers believe Fury is taking his fight with Usyk much more seriously after he scraped through his fight with Francis Ngannou, winning via split decision after being knocked down.

His long-time sparring partner Martin Bakole claimed that Fury didn’t prepare properly for his fight with Ngannou, telling IFL TV: ‘Tyson was not 100 per cent focused in the gym.’

However, Fury appears to have stepped up the intensity of his training and posted a video at the weekend promising that he would ‘f***ing batter’ his undefeated opponent.

In an exclusive chat with Mail Sport last year, Fury said: ‘I would love to have a good body. But, I don’t have any hope of having a good body.

‘I am fat now, I was fat as a baby and I will be fat on my death bed. We’re all fat. Hughie is fat, Shane’s fat, my dad’s fat and even my mum’s fat. I hope she’s not watching this. But, we’re a fat family.’

The Brit doesn’t appear to have even a spare ounce on his muscular physique and fans have been left amazed by his transformation.

‘Tyson looks hungrier than ever to prove himself after that Ngannou fight. We’re about to see another historic Fury performance,’ one wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

‘Never seen Tyson that cut,’ said another.

‘That doesn’t even look like the same person,’ one said, adding a shocked face emoji for emphasis.

Who do YOU think will win?

The clash between Usyk and Fury promises to be one of the biggest in memory.

Usyk will bring the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles while Fury holds the WBC heavyweight crown – and there will be a new ‘undisupted’ belt up for grabs.

They will meet in the ring as part of Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era.

Fury has been chomping at the bit since the fight was postponed from its original date of February 17 after he suffered a nasty cut above his eye in training.

He has 34 wins – 24 via knockouts – and one draw on his ledger.

Meanwhile, Usyk has a perfect record of 21 wins and no defeats with 14 knockouts.

However, Anthony Joshua’s seamless triumph over Ngannou has caused some to question Fury’s credentials.

AJ floored Ngannou three times with a second-round knockout when they met earlier this month, while Fury hit the deck himself before only beating the former UFC champion on points last year.

Eddie Hearn has revealed that Joshua and Fury could sign a two-fight deal to finally face each other, with one of the bouts potentially taking place at Wembley Stadium.

A win for Fury over Usyk could set up a fight against Joshua, but fans have become concerned that the pair may not meet on British soil due to Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh being able to offer boxers lucrative money to fight in the Middle East.

However, Joshua’s promoter Hearn has raised hopes that his charge and Fury could meet in the UK, and even claimed that is something Alalshikh is exploring.

‘This is a gentleman called Turki Alalshikh, who is obviously a very influential figure in sports and entertainment in Saudi Arabia,’ Hearn said on The Sports Agents podcast.

‘He’s also the biggest fight fan I’ve ever met. And quite amazingly, he’s now talking about staging two Fury vs AJ fights – one in Saudi Arabia and one at Wembley Stadium.’
