Posh and decks! David Beckham upgrades £5million yacht for a £16MILLION version as former England ace sets sail in Miami

He’s perhaps better known for his achievements on the pitch, but former footballer David Beckham was making waves of a different kind on Monday.

The retired Manchester United and England midfielder was joined by wife Victoria as they relaxed aboard an enormous superyacht off the coast of Miami, a second home for the couple and their four children.

The impressive looking vessel, understood to be worth £16million, is a significant upgrade on the comparatively modest 100-foot, £5million yacht reportedly purchased by Beckham, 48, in 2022.

Larger and more imposing than its predecessor – thought to be a ’90 Argo, purchased from yacht manufacturer Riva – the new boat boasts three sprawling decks and masses of space to unwind.

The vessel is believed to be another Riva design, the 130 Bellissima, complete with its own 20 square-metre garage, upper deck jacuzzi and lower deck swim platform.

    Riva ’90 Argo (£5M estimate)

With a sporty silhouette and sleek, metallic finish, the Argo is billed by Riva as ‘a sumptuous triumph of elegance and comfort.’

Key features include sizeable sundecks at stern and aft divided by a large main deck.

Interior spaces include elegant Italian design features, among them polished wood and metal surfaces and sweeping panoramic views.

    Riva 130 Bellissima (16M estimate)

Described as ‘a modern superyacht with a classic soul’, the 130 Bellissima features a contemporary exterior  constructed from glass, steel and carbon-fibre.

    A 20 square-metre garage, located on the boat’s port-side, has room for a tender, jet-ski and Seabobs.

The upper deck includes a jacuzzi, while lower deck features include a swim platform and an alfresco lounge.

It is unknown if the vessel is owned or chartered, however both have been personalised with the single word Seven – a reference to Beckham’s Manchester United and England squad number, and daughter Harper’s middle name – emblazoned across the hull.

Taking advantage of its extra space, Beckham and his fashion designer wife, 49, were seen sunbathing as spring temperatures across the Gulf Coast continued to soar.

The football legend was said to have ‘treated himself’ to his original £5million vessel in 2022 after being inspired by his maritime jaunts with close friends Sir Elton John and David Furnish – who often holiday at sea.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘David had a look around some yachts in the summer, and decided to treat himself. He helped design the boat himself, and has been incredibly hands-on with everything.

‘It’s not an oligarch-style super-yacht, but it’s still pretty plush by anyone’s standards. He was inspired after holidaying with Elton and David on their boat – and loves life on the water.

‘There will be an area for the kids to snorkel, and the boat will be a brilliant base for the whole Beckham clan to have magical holidays abroad.’

Beckham recently admitted that he didn’t realise how ‘strong’ Victoria was until they exchanged vows in 1999.

Speaking on This Life of Mine with James Corden, David revealed that he ‘really fancied’ her at the time, even though he ‘didn’t know’ who she really was until their relationship progressed.

He said: ‘I really just fancied her. I did. I just fancied her.

‘I didn’t know what she was like as a person. I just actually fancied her like most people did at that time, and I didn’t know who I was marrying [or] who I was going to be with for the rest of my life.

‘I didn’t realise what a strong woman she was, and that is what really attracted me to her more than anything.’

While Beckham thinks Victoria – with whom he is a parent to children Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and 12-year-old Harper – is ‘beautiful’ and ‘sexy’, he is drawn to her caring side.

He added: ‘I like a strong woman, and I like the fact that she works hard. I like the fact that she’s a great mum.

‘I like the fact that she looks after me sometimes, most of the time, and you know, we’ve created this life with four amazing children, which are the most important things in our life, so that’s why I chose Victoria… the way that she kind of runs the family.’

The retired footballer also admitted he holds the Spice Girls’ 1996 single Say You’ll Be There in his heart because the music video first attracted him to Victoria.

He said: ‘It’s my favourite because it was the song that was on the TV when I was sat in my room with [former teammate] Gary Neville and it came on the telly and that was when I turned around to Gary and said, ‘I’m gonna marry that one in the short black dress.”’

Mike Tyson snubbed as toughest opponent Lennox Lewis faced

Heavyweight great Lennox Lewis lifted the lid on the most challenging opponent inside the ropes. It’s not Mike Tyson.

The former undisputed world champion has revealed Evander Holyfield was the best he faced throughout his exceptional career.

‘The Pugilist Specialist,’ who ruled the late 1990s era in the top division, fought two bouts with Holyfield during the height of his pomp.

Drawing the first in highly controversial circumstances, Lewis won the second. The Briton firmly believes he claimed victory in both.

Despite two ‘victories’ over Holyfield, Lewis has nothing but respect for the two-weight king after explaining his reasoning to fans.

    Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield

“People seem genuinely surprised when I tell them Evander Holyfield was my toughest opponent. But when you dive into why that is, it makes a lot of sense,” said Lewis.

“Holyfield, like me, has an extensive amateur pedigree that has served him well throughout his professional career.

“He started boxing at eight and was an Olympic Bronze medalist in 1984. Before he moved up to the heavyweight division, he was a man that cleared out the cruiserweight division to become the undisputed champion. He was arguably one of the best in that weight class.

“That’s a lot of experience. It’s safe to say that he had seen it all when we met for the undisputed heavyweight championship in 1999.

“When you combine Evander’s amateur and professional experience, you would be hard-pressed not to see his success in the ring.

“I may tease him a bit on our two fights. But he knows I won both fights even tho he won’t admit it. In all seriousness, he’s the only man that has gone 24 rounds with me.

“I can’t stress the importance of amateur experience enough. Consider the amateurs as your internship into the pros. The more you learn about your craft, the better it will serve you.

“Me and Evander’s extensive amateur experience brought us to the top of our games. In a sport without guarantees, and even one mistake can end in disaster, it’s essential to play the odds.

“So although we have both had setbacks in our careers, there was very little chance that the success we sought in the sport of boxing would not be reached.”

Some questioned Holyfield as the choice when Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall stopped Lewis. Plus was given a hard time by Vitali Klitschko.

Mike Tyson says fans underestimating Francis Ngannou against Tyson Fury: ‘Why can’t he give Tyson a capable fight?’

Mike Tyson thinks Francis Ngannou is going to give Tyson Fury a legitimate fight.

Ngannou and Fury are set to face each other in a boxing match on Oct. 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The bout will be the biggest payday of Ngannou’s career and many fans view the matchup as simply a cash grab from the former UFC heavyweight champion. But former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson disagrees. Speaking with Ngannou on his Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast, Tyson said that people are underestimating him.

“This is what you have to look [at] when you think about him fighting Tyson Fury — Conor McGregor went 11 rounds or 10 rounds with Floyd Mayweather, the greatest fighter of his generation, if not all-time. If that can happen, why can’t he give Tyson a capable fight?” Tyson said. “Floyd Mayweather is the greatest fighter in the world as far as technique and style. So why doesn’t he have a chance if McGregor did well and did a great account of himself? Everybody respects him for his effort. Nobody said, ‘He’s a b****.’ No one is saying that.”

Tyson is currently helping Ngannou get ready for Fury, and while he previously noted that Ngannou’s legendary power gives him a shot at the upset, Tyson added here that he’s been impressed by Ngannou in their training thus far.

“We worked out yesterday and I saw a lot of good qualities,” Tyson said. “He pretty much just needs to shake off some of the cobwebs and then it’s full speed ahead. You learn pretty quick, too, which I was really impressed with.”

While Tyson is now sold that Ngannou can at least give a good accounting of himself in the ring, “The Predator” still has his mind set on the upset, and he believes Tyson is the man to help him do that.

“If I land a bomb on Tyson Fury, I think the lights turn off for him,” Ngannou said. “But now the problem is how to sharpen the weapon properly to land that bomb, because it’s good to have a bomb, but the great Teddy Atlas always says: Delivery system. You have to have a proper delivery system. That’s something that’s always stuck in my mind. You have to have a bomb, that’s cool, but how to have a good delivery system to aim and shoot [is more important], and that’s why Mike Tyson is here.”

Years After Making $430 Million in His Boxing Career, Mike Tyson Finally Reveals the Truth Behind the 4 AM Routine That Helped Him Become Youngest Heavyweight Champion in History

Mike Tyson in his prime was a larger-than-life figure. He made over $430 Million during his boxing career and became the youngest heavyweight champion of the world. Not to mention, his childhood was traumatic, to say the least. As a teenager, he grew up in poverty, was bullied, and lost his parents. However, destiny had it for him to become one of the greatest boxers ever.

Tyson lived a life of discipline and continues to advocate for that lifestyle and regime. During an episode of his podcast, Jorge Masvidal, the guest and the former UFC fighter was curious to know why Tyson used to wake up at 4 A.m. In response, ‘Iron Mike,’ revealed that he wanted a holistic day of training that included, spars, road work, and strength training. Waking up early in the morning allowed him to be productive in all those facets. In addition, he claimed waking up at 4 a.m. used to give him mental confidence as his opponents were sleeping while he was grinding.

Reflecting on the same, he stated, “First of all that’s what I like. I wanted all the fight. I want the rest, the running, I wanted that boxing sparring and plus psychologically if I get up three or four in the morning, you know my opponent’s not up at three of four in the morning so that’s my psychological advantage.”

During the episode, Masvidal was curious to know how long  Tyson had his sessions during training camp and what are the things he did in a day. Tyson gave a comprehensive answer in which he revealed the exact details of his training routine. He stated, “After four’o clock, I come back home, do some exercises then I take a hot bath and go back to sleep. Maybe eating breakfast as-well. Go to gym and box 10 rounds, maybe worked up to 10 rounds. Then do road work and do bag.”

Joshua took part in an Instagram Live session with JD Sports, where fans asked the two-time and current heavyweight champion questions on the boxing world that has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

When questioned on the fairytale fight, Joshua backed Tyson to beat Ali thanks to his use of modern ‘science’.

‘It’s quite interesting because in the era of Ali’s heavyweight reign, the heavyweights were ranked as cruiserweights.

‘So in the Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis era; they started getting bigger.

‘Hence why, in the amateurs, they then created a super heavyweight division.

‘So the current heavyweight division in the amateurs is what we class as the cruiserweight division [in the pros], so Ali went from lightweight and worked his way up.

‘He wouldn’t have been a fully fledged heavyweight. Let’s say we bulked Ali up and added size and strength to him, I truly believe Mike Tyson would have won.

Mike Tyson became the youngest WBA, WBC and IBF heavyweight titles at 20 years old and boasted a career record of 50 wins (44 KO’s) and six losses.

Ali is considered to be one of the most iconic sportsmen in history and is the only boxer to be named Ring magazine Fighter of the Year six times.

Joshua continued: ‘Reason being, when you watch the fight between Joe Frazier and Ali you see a certain Tyson-esque style in Frazier.

‘Tyson used to study Frazier: moving, moving, hooks, hooks. He managed to put Ali down, it was a very tough fight for him.’

Fans have always had a keen interest in crowning an all-time heavyweight champion and for Joshua, it’s ‘Iron Mike’ in his ‘humble opinion’.

‘I just believe Tyson was better schooled because times have evolved,’ he added. ‘He was more developed with more science, more information. So Tyson would have won – in my humble opinion.’

Tyson lived up to his moniker of the ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ as Eric ‘Butterbean’ Esch smashed his opponents out in an opening couple of rounds.

Butterbean, known as ‘The King of the Four Rounders,’ would undoubtedly have been in with a puncher’s chance.

Iron Mike could be his own worst enemy. However, he was the best finisher in the sport when he was on it.

Tyson closed the show early like no other. In addition, Butterbean did his thing, usually with one punch.

In an interview discussing the possibility, Esch revealed an offer on the table back in the day. He also says a new request was made as Tyson returned in 2020.

“I’m totally retired,” Esch told Fred Talks Fighting.

“There’s a lot of talk about me being in that fight with Tyson was all actually offered to me (in) an exhibition.

“But I know when it’s time, I know I’m old, I’ve got grandkids, I’ve got nine grandkids. I’m just enjoying my life right now.”

Speaking to the UK media, Esch added that he got offered the chance before Roy Jones Jr. fought Tyson in their exhibition.

“I was in that dark place. There was no way it was possible,” said Esch.

“I’m alive right now. I’m good to go. And Mike is in great shape. It would be a hell of a fight.

“We’d both come to fight. Mike isn’t going to run from me. That’s where his big mistake would be.”

Regarding explosiveness, Tyson vs Butterbean is in a world of its own when the pair were at the height of their powers.

Butterbean began knocking everyone out in 1994 when Tyson resumed his career following a prison sentence.

It was talked bout for years, but ultimately, Butterbean fought Larry Holmes, which was the wrong decision.

Furthermore, Larry had too much skill, even in 2002. Butterbean should have gone for Tyson and chased it harder for the fans.

Tyson’s former trainer has also claimed that Iron Mike would still KO fellow American Deontay Wilder inside a minute if he trained for six weeks.

Tyson made his mark after smashing Trevor Berbick in 1986 to become the youngest heavyweight champion in history aged 20.

He last stepped inside the ring back in June 2005 where he was stopped by Kevin McBride in what proved to be the final bout of his professional career.

But the iconic puncher hasn’t hung up his gloves for good just yet.

The Gypsy King could be crowned the undisputed champion if he beats fellow Brit Anthony Joshua next year.

And while Fury believes that it is just a matter of time before he gets his hands on all four belts, he thinks no legendary fighter could have stood in his way.

The 31-year-old was asked specifically on whether he would have relished a scrap against Iron Mike.

Tyson is expected to announce a sensational return to the ring in an exhibition scrap at the age of 53.

It comes 33 years after Tyson announced himself as a legend in the ring after being crowned the youngest ever heavyweight champion.

And when asked who would win between the pair, Fury told Steve Bunce on BT Sport: “There isn’t a heavyweight from any era in the last a thousand years that could’ve tackled me or beat me.

“Never mind Mike Tyson from the 80s, Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, Ken Norton, Rocky Marciano, Floyd Patterson, Gene Tunney, Jem Mace, John L. Sullivan.

I’m the greatest fighter that has ever lived.

“Going right back to the beginning, not one of them could’ve beaten the Gypsy King. I’m too big, I’m too good and I’ve got too many styles for them. I’m an adapter and they couldn’t even beat me anyway.

“I’m the greatest fighter that has ever lived. Never mind heavyweight, greatest fighter that’s ever lived. How about that for a bit of modesty?!”

Fury still has to fulfill his contractual demands to fight Deontay Wilder for a third and final time before the all-important Battle of Britain with AJ.
