John Fury about the Francis Ngannou boxing match, he also talked about Mike Tyson

Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou are set to box on October 28 in Saudi Arabia in a fight that has caused great public interest. Francis Ngannou has been training hard for months with the help of Mike Tyson. He wants to perfect his boxing skills with one of the biggest names in boxing, Mike Tyson.

Tyson has only words of praise for the Frenchman and is very convinced that his fighter will beat the now boxing legend Tyson Fury.
John Fury talked about his son’s fight and pointed out that it will not be easy for him against the mma fighter, because the Frenchman has hammers in his hands.

One shot that goes through could end the match.
“I hold him in the highest esteem and the highest regard. He’s world champion at his game, he’s taking on the best in the world, taking it seriously and I do believe he’s going to bring the smoke,” John Fury told Seconds Out.

“I’m expecting Tyson to come out with a broken leg or a broken arm. He’s not going to come out unscathed and I’m glad they’re paying him well because if they weren’t paying him well I wouldn’t put him in against Francis Ngannou.

He’s going to get knocked about, Tyson, and he knows that, exhibition my backside – they’re going to kill each other them pair”. as quoted by BoyingDaily.

John Fury continued to praise the French coach Mike Tyson and is convinced that he will show him the necessary boxing moves.

“Bear in mind he’s got Mike Tyson there and he wants to impress Mike Tyson. And then Tyson [Fury] has got an ego as big as Morecambe so the stage is set for a battle royal,” John Fury said. “He couldn’t have a better mentor in his camp than the great Mike Tyson, I’m sure Mike will show him the boxing moves he needs”.

  • John Fury wants to fight Mike Tyson

John Fury wants to fight Mike Tyson

WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury will step into the ring against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou this October 28. It is a long-announced fight that has attracted a lot of public attention. Francis Ngannou hired Mike Tyson, one of the greatest boxing legends in history, to train him and improve his footwork.

Surely that fact caused even more attention for this match, because the name Mike Tyson itself causes attention. The father of WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury talked about the upcoming fight. He expressed his admiration for Mike Tyson, but he is sure of his son’s victory.

There were rumors that he could have an exhibition match against Mike Tyson as his son’s pre-fight. Surely that match would attract a lot of attention, almost as much as the main match. The crowd likes to see exhibition fights, especially when it comes to older retired fighters.

And Mike Tyson himself would call many spectators to watch this fight.“Why wouldn’t I not speak to Mike Tyson,” Fury said in an interview with Seconds Out. “I love the guy, I named my son after him.

John Fury: I’m a fighting man.

    I’m old but I’m a fighting man. He’s a fighting man

John Fury continued about his son’s training but also praised the Frenchman who has steel hands. Surely everyone would like to see that match between him and Iron Mike due to the fact that many people would like to see Tyson back in the ring.“If he wants to fight me on the undercard he can, no problem”.

The 59-year-old added. “I’m a fighting man. I’m old but I’m a fighting man. He’s a fighting man. He’s old. We’re two geriatrics. If he wants to fight me and I want to fight him, which I do, I’ve made it quite clear, we can do it.

I’ve been knocked out before, doesn’t make any difference to me, as long as we can entertain the paying public and put smiles on their faces, that’ll do me”. as quoted by lowkickmma.

  • When Mike Tyson Gets Aggressive in a Fight

When Mike Tyson Gets Aggressive in a Fight

Mike Tyson fought Donovan ‘Razor’ Ruddock twice in 1991. In the second contest, Tyson broke Ruddock’s jaw. The pair’s first fight took place in March 1991. In the third round, Ruddock was dropped by Tyson twice. Even though ‘Razor’ survived the round, the contest was stopped by the referee in round seven in favor of ‘Iron Mike’…

How did Mike Tyson’s response to his daughter’s tragic passing leave his interviewer speechless?

There are some men whose name itself strikes fear into anyone’s heart. Mike Tyson is a part of that ‘elite’ list. Iron Mike has ‘punched’ his way into the boxing hall of fame. With a stellar record at the top level, Tyson is one of the leading boxers of his time. Being the undisputed World Heavyweight Champion from 1987 to 1990 is a testament to this fact. One can only imagine the fear his foes would have felt. A reporter once felt Tyson’s energy up close.

Mike Tyson couldn’t handle his daughter’s death

Mike Tyson is not one to be bogged down by trivial factors. Having nerves of steel, he knows when to make his stand. He knows when to put his foot down. But even these nerves of steel can’t stand certain things.

The 57-year-old couldn’t bear the death of his daughter, Exodus. She died all the way back in 2009, when she was just 4 years old. She was found dead, with her neck getting caught in the treadmill cord at her home in Phoenix.

    When Mike Tyson snapped

Exodus’s death left Mike Tyson broken. Despite going through a bad time, he still hadn’t lost his scary aura. In an interview with Real Sports, the Hangover star opened up about life after his daughter’s death.

    In the interview, he said,

“I don’t know what happened that day… I did some cocaine for a week. I had to get high. I had to back there, I had to get high. I couldn’t handle it at all.”

What followed was a short pause, followed by one of the coldest on-screen responses known to mankind. The boxer continued,

“You have to go. You understand right? Thank you. Thank you very much.”

Not a traditional interview moment at all, but given the gravity of the tragedy, which is something enough to send chills down one’s spine.

Why was a moment in the interview with Mike Tyson the “most chilling second and a half” ever

Years down the lane, the reporter who interviewed Mighty Mike shared the horror he faced while conducting the interview.

One could see Tyson’s fear on the interviewer’s face. The interviewer, who worked for Real Sports at the time, said,

“I mean I was speechless and I don’t know if you heard him say ‘You have to go now.’”

His eyes said it all. Those were without a doubt the “most chilling second and a half or two seconds” of his life. Safe to say that this was a moment he’d like to forget.

‘Mike Tyson never sparred – you had to fight him, try to survive’

Mike Tyson never sparred anyone in the gym. Anyone who did step between the ropes had to fight to survive.

That’s according to John Bray, one of Tyson’s sparring partners back in the day.

    Mike Tyson

As we all know, Tyson still strikes fear into the heart of many a man or opponent as the ring veteran and former heavyweight champion stays active.

The 56-year-old fought an ‘exhibition’ against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, taking it very seriously. There could be at least one more before Tyson walks away for good.

During his career, Tyson was known – not only as “Iron Mike” – but “The Baddest Man on the Planet.” Those monikers he rejected later in his career due to a transition to Islam.

So now, where does New Yorker fall in the grand scheme of heavyweight brutes and those who can win fights before the first bell rings?

One man believes Tyson is still at the top in the fear factor stakes.

Still the Baddest Man on the Planet

Former National AAU Heavyweight Championship Bray, who also sparred Tyson rivals Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, firmly sees it that way.

Speaking recently to Elie Seckbach in an archive interview, Bray aired his views on just how scary being inside the ropes with Mike Tyson really is.

“Sparring with Mike Tyson was not sparring. You’re fighting Mike Tyson. You’re tryin’ to survive, man,” Bray told ES News.

“He dropped all his sparring partners (but) he never dropped me. I can say this.”

Asked how good Tyson can be – even in his 50s, Bray eerily replied: “He would be as successful as he was in his prime.”

That’s some compliment for Tyson. A fact that could spell trouble for anyone who follows Jones Jr. as his opponent.

    Roy Jones Jr

Before they traded blows, RJJ admitted to Luke Thomas that Tyson was still dangerous.

“I know who Mike Tyson is. I’m not going to come in the ring like he’s not Mike Tyson,” stated Jones.

“I know he will want to take my head off, so I must be ready for that. You never know what might happen, so that I will prepare for everything.

Another statement by Jones outlined just how tough he expects the Tyson fight to be on November 28.

“If it’s a huge success, I would consider it, but I can’t see it. But this is one and done for Roy Jones Jr.”

Jones was true to his word after drawing their fight. However, Tyson could be ready to fight again soon.

Anthony Joshua’s company banks enormous earnings after the British heavyweight goes undefeated in 2023 – as questions circle over who he fights next

Anthony Joshua‘s company, Sparta Promotions Limited, has profited from a growth in equity in the past year after the British heavyweight enjoyed a lucrative 2023.

The 34-year-old boxer fought three times during the calendar year, beating Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius and Otto Wallin to bounce back after suffering back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

According to Forbes, Joshua, who has a whopping 16.9m followers on Instagram and is one of the most well-known athletes on the planet, placed 28th in the rankings for the World’s highest-paid athletes in 2023.

The outlet, Joshua currently boasts a net worth of approximately £41million ($53m) and has continued to add to his gigantic fortune in 2024, banking a another £39m his fight against Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

That came even before he had stepped into the ring where he would go on to deliver an emphatic second-round knockout to beat the former UFC heavyweight champion.

But 2023 was a very lucrative year for the British fighter, who’s company have recorded profits of £35.9m.

Adding to that, amid all his sponsorship deals, partnerships and business operations, Sparta Promotions have grown in equity once again, with the company’s value rising to £129m.

That’s nearly a £30m rise its equity valuation for 2022, with the former heavyweight champion paying almost £7m in tax last year.

‘When I first started, the aim was to become a multimillionaire,’ he told GQ in 2017.

‘But now there are ordinary people, grandmas and granddads, who are worth millions just because of property prices. So the new school of thought is that I need to be a billionaire.

‘Being a millionaire is good, but you have to set your sights higher. If I’m making £10million from my next fight, my next target has to be making ten times that. And if I get to £100m-150m, why not go for the billion? I know self-made billionaires. It’s hard, but it’s possible.’

His story is a rags-to-riches tale of a man who grew up on a council estate before rising to stardom after success in the 2012 Olympics.

Joshua boasts a collection of luxury cars worth around £1m which includes a £150,000 Range Rover SVO – which was custom made with his name inscribed in the tread plates – and a £93,000 white Jaguar XJR. He has over a dozen properties in his portfolio including a £1m north London house.

He owns his own clothing line, AJBXING, and has partnerships with Jaguar Land Rover, William Hill, Hugo Boss and Under Armour.

For boxers, the financial benefits of fighting in Saudi Arabia are clear to see with Tyson Fury also banking £39m for his ‘Battle of the Baddest’ clash against Francis Ngannou last year.

AJ, meanwhile, proved that he was well and truly back to his best with his sensational knockout against Ngannou at the start of the month.

He is now plotting his next move, with Frank Warren revealing that he could be set to face Tyson Fury next March in Saudi Arabia, after the Gypsy King has fought Oleksandr Usyk twice.

Bob Arum claims Tyson Fury was ‘not ready to fight ANYBODY’ when he narrowly escaped shock defeat by Francis Ngannou… but insists the Gypsy King will return to his best in undisputed clash with ‘tremendous’ Oleksandr Usyk

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum believes Tyson Fury‘s lack of preparation almost cost him dearly against Francis Ngannou, but is adamant that fans will see a very different Fury when he faces Oleksandr Usyk in May.

Fury and Usyk are due to meet in less than two months for the right to be called the undisputed heavyweight champion, but those plans nearly went up in smoke when the Gypsy King took on Ngannou last October.

Entering the ring against a boxing novice in the shape of former UFC champion Ngannou, Fury was expected to cruise to victory to set up a showdown with Usyk.

But Fury quickly found himself in deep waters after being knocked down in the third round, and he only narrowly escaped a disastrous defeat as he secured a controversial win via split decision.

Fury was criticised for looking out of shape in the build-up to the Ngannou bout, and Arum has claimed the fight was much closer than anticipated due to the Brit taking his eye off the ball.

However, he explained why the WBC champion will not make the same mistake again when he returns to Saudi Arabia later this year.

Reflecting on why Ngannou was able to have so much success in Riyadh against Fury, Arum told Mail Sport: ‘I look at his performance with Fury as really Fury being not ready to fight anybody that night, but Ngannou did what he had to do to make it competitive.

Discussing his journey with Fury since becoming his promoter, Arum continued: ‘After his first fight with Wilder which we didn’t promote, we promoted a fight with Wallin and Schwarz, and, to be honest, Fury looked sort of ordinary. He looked OK but not great.

‘Then when he came to fight Wilder again when he really got himself in shape mentally and physically, he was superb in both of those fights, knocking Wilder out in both fights. And then because there’s been so much talk and controversy when he fought Dillian Whyte at Wembley, he also looked terrific.

‘Not so much for Chisora because that wasn’t more than a stay-busy fight, and then when he fought Ngannou, he looked ordinary. Let’s be honest about it.

‘But again, that seems to be the pattern with Fury, and he knows how tough a fight Usyk is. Usyk is a tremendous athlete, very determined, has never lost a fight. So I really believe we’ll see the best of Tyson Fury on May 18.’

A win for Fury in May could set up a mouthwatering all-British dust-up with Anthony Joshua.

Joshua has won his last four fights since successive defeats by Usyk, and looked particularly impressive in his last two victories against Otto Wallin and Ngannou.

Arum thinks Joshua has regained his confidence and will now be a match for anybody, but is not allowing himself to look ahead to a fight between Fury and Joshua just yet

After Ngannou pushed Fury all the way, Joshua demolished the MMA star inside two rounds earlier this month, and Arum feels the two-time world champion has rediscovered his mojo.

The 92-year-old promoter admitted that a long-awaited fight between Fury and Joshua could come next – despite the former having a rematch clause with Usyk – but insisted he is only focusing on Fury’s bout with the Ukrainian for now.

‘I think the knock on Joshua has been that he’d lost his confidence,’ Arum said. ‘If a fight loses his confidence, he’s very diminished.

‘Now Joshua seems to be regaining his confidence, and if that continues Joshua will be a very dangerous fighter that could compete with anybody.

Looking ahead to how the heavyweight scene could map out in the aftermath of Fury vs Usyk, Arum added: ‘What happens if Fury-Usyk turns out to be a classic? A fight that is so exciting and so thrilling that the public wants to see it again. Then that would certainly trump a Joshua fight, and contractually, it’s a fight that has to happen.

‘Now, what happens if it’s a one-sided fight and Fury wins the fight? Then maybe everybody can sit down with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh and work out some arrangement go right to Fury-Joshua.

‘If Usyk wins the fight, I don’t think there would be that much demand for an Usyk-Joshua fight because after all they fought twice and Usyk beat him twice. So, one fight at a time, that’s my motto.’

While the top three heavyweights appear to be set in stone for now, the chasing pack is less clear.

Ngannou has lost his first two boxing matches, but in very different fashion, having nearly beaten Fury before being dismantled by Joshua.

In the immediate aftermath of his comprehensive win over Ngannou, Joshua urged the Cameroonian-born to continue pursuing a career in boxing rather than returning to MMA, and Arum agrees that he could still have a future in the sport.

‘He got knocked out by Joshua, which because of the experience and skill level is not surprising,’ Arum said.

‘Now Ngannou has to go back and if he wishes to learn how to be a real fighter with sparring and training and so forth, then I think he could be very competitive in the heavyweight division.

‘But whether he stays in boxing or goes back to MMA, that’s up to him.’

Lewis Hamilton has labeled his Australian GP campaign an arduous affair, culminating in an untimely retirement on Lap 17 at Albert Park. The seven-time champion pulled over at turn 10, disembarked from his ailing W15, and returned to the paddock. Meanwhile, in an unexpected twist, a fresh perspective on the race emerges from an unlikely source – Lando Norris’ YouTube friend, AngryGinge.

Mercedes found themselves trailing in Saturday’s qualifying with Hamilton facing an early exit in Q2. As the race unfolded, just 17 laps in, Hamilton radioed an “engine failure.”

AngryGinge, a burgeoning spectator of the sport, shared his take on the entire situation, at least what he could make of it. Reacting to the race’s highlights, he expressed dismay over Hamilton’s DNF, juxtaposing it with a hint of satisfaction over Max Verstappen’s similar fate. “Anyone dealing with their cars should be sacked!” he declared, incredulous at the notion of an engine failure in F1.

“7-time world champion, someone’s not checking his engine. D’you know what I mean? Lift the bonnet up. Bang, done. How hard is it?”

Mercedes’ woes compounded when George Russell joined Lewis Hamilton in the ranks of retirees, suffering a crash on the final lap. Observing Russell’s pursuit of Alonso before the incident, AngryGinge couldn’t help but lament the unfortunate turn of events. “Oh dear, he’s crashed on the last lap? Oh, he shouldn’t have done that. Why’s he done that in the last lap?”

Testing times for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes

Marking the first double retirement for Mercedes since the 2018 Austrian GP, the team found themselves grappling with a dire outcome at Albert Park. Securing zero points in a race where Carlos Sainz stole the show leading a 1-2 finish for Ferrari, Mercedes now finds themselves languishing in fourth place in the constructors’ championship.

Expressing the weight of disappointment, Toto Wolff somberly addressed reporters, acknowledging the challenges ahead (as reported by ESPN). “[It’s] tough to take, super tough,” downcast team boss Toto Wolff told reporters. And I would be lying if I could say I feel positive about the situation and optimistic but you just need to overcome the nagging, negative thoughts and say, ‘we will turn this around.’”

With a mere eight points garnered from the initial trio of races, Hamilton finds himself in the thick of his worst start to an F1 season. Despite attempting to maintain a brave front, Hamilton conceded that the struggles encountered with the Mercedes W15 car had taken a toll on morale. “When so much work is going on throughout the winter for everybody, you come in excited, motivated, and driven, and then you’re with the mindset that you’re going to be fighting for wins,” he reflected, as quoted by F1’s official website.

“And then obviously that’s not the case. And then you’re like, ‘OK, maybe second, third’. No, it’s not the case, and it cascades a bit further down. And you just go through the motions. It’s challenging.”

In the wake of Mercedes’ tumultuous performance at the 2024 Australian GP, Lewis Hamilton and the team face an uphill battle to regain their competitive edge. With challenges abound, the season unfolds as a test of resilience and adaptability for the former champions, as they strive to overcome the setbacks and reclaim their position at the forefront of F1.

Victoria Beckham chose a very familiar dress to wear while attending the wedding of soccer player Sergio Ramos on Saturday.

Stepping out with her husband David Beckham, a former teammate of the Real Madrid star, Victoria, 45, was dressed in one her own designs — which had previously been worn by pal Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex stepped out in the cream and chain-print dress in March, just two months before welcoming son Archie, as she attended the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey with Prince Harry.

While Meghan, 37, accessorized the look with a cream coat and a matching pillbox hat, the British designer put her own spin on the dress, pairing it with sunglasses and some bright pink heels.

Of course, this hasn’t been the first time Meghan has worn one of the Posh Spice’s designs.

Opening up about what it was like to see Meghan wear one of her designs, Victoria shared that it was a “lovely surprise.”

“I mean she looked so beautiful, it was such a lovely surprise to wake up to on Christmas morning,” she said during an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan. “You know, I think she’s such a beautiful, strong and wonderful woman – so it was a huge honor!”

Interestingly enough, her pal’s designs weren’t always the style Meghan would immediately think she could pull off up until recently.

In May 2017, she told Glamour that while the designer’s dresses were something that she admired, she didn’t think they flattered her body type.

“What I’m starting to learn is, even though things look amazing on the hanger, it doesn’t mean they’re going to look amazing on me,” she told the magazine of her time on the USA series Suits and the influence it had on her style.

“For example, I love Victoria Beckham dresses, but I don’t have the long torso to support that silhouette,” she added.

Lewis Hamilton Makes Toto Wolff a Laughing Stock by Exposing Something Best Kept a Secret

Both Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff joined Mercedes back in 2013. Since then, they have gone on to create a formidable partnership, winning multiple world championships together. With time, they also became close and are now good friends. Taking advantage of this, Hamilton recently made Wolff a laughing stock by disclosing information, that the latter would have wanted to remain a secret.

According to @askolatte on X (formerly Twitter),  Hamilton revealed a time when Toto and his wife Susie Wolff were racing against each other during a ‘Mercedes day out’. Hamilton added, “We did a Mercedes day out in Iceland one time and Susie was there and she kicked his a*s.”

Wolff will not be pleased with this disclosure because of his racing roots. The 52-year-old made an attempt at rallying long before he entered the world of management. After beginning his career in Formula Ford, Wolff won his category in the 1994 Nurburgring 24 Hours. He also competed in the FIA GT championship and Italian Championship.

Even though he is an ex-racing driver himself, Wolff will also not be ashamed of losing to Susie Wolff. Many would argue that she is much better than Wolff in this field, and even participated in a free practice session for Williams in F1 back in 2014. Susie Wolff is considered by many to be a pioneer for women in motorsports.

How Christian Horner once mocked Toto Wolff

Banter between Christian Horner and Toto Wolff has always been an entertaining sight for the audience. In 2023, Horner did what Hamilton did, and made fun of the Mercedes boss’ driving career. He insisted that his participation in races mattered more, because while he competed, Wolff just “took part”.

As reported by Planet F1, Horner admitted to the modesty of his racing past. This realization kicked in for the Red Bull boss when he joined Juan Pablo Montoya for a pre-season test and found that he was not capable of replicating the same level of result. However, despite him believing that his racing career was merely modest, he couldn’t help but take a jab at Wolff.

Horner said, “Well obviously, I raced and Toto took part. Of course, it gives you an insight into the emotions that a driver goes through and some of the challenges.”

Wolff and Horner did not excel in the world of motorsports, but once they delved into management, they became the recognized stars that they are today.

UFC 5 is set to be released on October 27 on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with MMA fans eager to dive into the next instalment and go toe-to-toe with their favourite fighters.

Ali and Tyson are considered two of the best fighters in the history of boxing – with the former the first boxer to become a three-time heavyweight champion and earning the nickname ‘The Greatest’.

Ali passed away in 2016 and left behind a huge legacy for future fighters to follow.

Tyson, meanwhile, won the championship twice and garnered a reputation as one of the most fearsome fighters in the ring with 44 knockouts out of his 50 victories.

Boxers crossing over into a UFC game is not unheard of after UFC 4 featured two high-profile boxers on UFC 4 last year.

Heavyweight stars Tyson Fury – who is currently the WBC champion – and Anthony Joshua were both included in the game. To unlock the pair, fans had to pay for a bundle or pre-order the game and pay extra for the deluxe edition.

This year Ali and Tyson will also be made available to players who pre-order the game.

In addition to the two fighters, former Bellator star Fedor Emelianenko will also be available as a playable character.

New details in the game will include more realistic cuts, bruises and swelling – including fighters struggling with breathing after taking a hit to the nose and limping after a handful of leg kicks.

There will also be doctors checks with referees stepping in to instruct a ringside medic to inspect damage – adding a strategic element as players look to protect their fighter for the rest of the fight and prevent it being called off.

This will also be the first UFC game to incorporate the Frostbite engine, which has been used in other popular sport video games such as FIFA. The system will ensure more realistic gameplay, facial animations and movements.

Developers EA Sports have also revamped the submission system – which was previously something of a mini-game that involved players tapping buttons in order to dominate their opponents.

They are now promising a ‘cleaner’ and ‘smoother’ experience, with submissions now set to ‘flow within one another’.
