Tyson Fury is explaining why he thinks Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a ‘really good spectacle’ for boxing.
The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will be streamed globally on Netflix.
Following the announcement of the fight there have been mixed opinions concerning whether or not the fight should take place at all.
Tyson Fury is sharing his belief that the Paul vs. Tyson match is great for boxing as a whole.
Fury, speaking on ‘The Stomping Ground’, shared his take on the upcoming bout:
“I think it’s fantastic for boxing. You’ve got a legend in Mike Tyson, you’ve got a YouTube boxer who’s come into the game and blew it up, and he’s got millions of followers and millions of views and millions of eyes – good, bad or indifferent. Some people love him, some people hate him.”
Continuing Tyson Fury shared:
“I think it’s a really good spectacle for boxing – brings a lot of people to the game. Listen, who am I to say, ‘Oh, Mike Tyson shouldn’t be boxing,’ or ‘Jake Paul shouldn’t be boxing’? Good luck to them. They’re both going to make what I call a sh*t-ton of money out of it.”
Concluding, the ‘Gypsy King’ said (h/t MMAJunkie):
“It’d be fantastic for the guys, both getting paid, both going to put on a show – I just don’t know what’s not to like. Oh, OK, (Tyson’s) 57 years old, but he’s a former undisputed world heavyweight king. And (Paul) plays computers for a living, and he’s come to boxing about a year ago, so pretty even match. … People say, ‘Oh, it’s sh*t,’ this, that and the other. But I’ll bet they still watch it. Who’s not intrigued?”
Do you agree with Tyson Fury that the fight is ‘fantastic’ for boxing? Will you be watching on July 20th?

The Gypsy King looks completely different now to when he fought Francis Ngannou, and his nutritionist has revealed all.
HIGHLIGHTS
Tyson Fury’s six-meal-a-day diet and intensive training plan has transformed his physique for the upcoming fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury’s nutritionist Greg Marriott has revealed the strict diet regime that fuelled the Gypsy King’s impressive physical change for the bout.
Despite a split decision win over Ngannou, fans cannot wait for Fury’s fight against Usyk on the 18th of May.
Tyson Fury’s current physique for his undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk on the 18th of May has wowed fans, and now, his nutritionist has revealed the diet that led to the Gypsy King’s incredible transformation.
Greg Marriott was interviewed by fitness media company Men’s Health about his boxer’s upcoming duel for the championship and the secret behind his regimen that helped Fury’s condition. He detailed how he puts the heavyweight through a six-meal per day programme to not only give the WBC champion enough energy to continue training, but also lose enough weight to meet their goal for the fight. The diet focuses on consuming 3,000 calories on rest days and around 4,500–6,000 calories during training days.
Tyson Fury’s Diet
Pictures of the meals were shared by both Fury and Marriott on their respective social media channels, giving viewers an insight into the rather bland diet with clear and effective results. The surprise for fans comes from the massive difference in Fury’s approach in contrast to his previous fight against Francis Ngannou, where the man from Manchester looked out of shape.
GIVEMESPORT’s Key Statistic : Tyson Fury is consuming 3,000 calories on rest days, and between 4,500-6,000 calories on training days for Oleksandr Usyk fight.
Marriott attributed this successful transformation to not only Fury’s strong will, but a firm trust between the two that lets Fury put his all into his plan to mould him into the best possible shape. But ominously, the nutrionist explained that they had yet to reach their final form, that we would see another 50% on top of his current condition, and promised that viewers would see “a different Tyson Fury” come the bell’s ring.
Tyson Fury’s Transformation From Ngannou to Usyk
Despite his poor condition and much criticism, Fury was able to defeat Ngannou, albeit in a split decision, to set a long-awaited date with Usyk at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And if what the world has seen is anything to go by, The Gypsy King is deadly serious about winning what may be the biggest fight of his life.
This fight has been in the works for some time yet was thought to never happen. A supposed original date of the 23rd of December was never confirmed after a deal had been agreed between both parties. The then-confirmed date of the 17th of February was also pushed back after a horror cut for Fury during training.
“I can promise you, you’re going to see a different Tyson Fury. Whatever I tell Tyson to do, he just adheres to it. He puts 100 percent trust in me,” said Marriott.
Boxing promoter Frank Warren has seemingly revealed when Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua will take place, and where it will take place.
“So for Tyson really, there are no challenges because he knows he’ll be in peak condition. He’s been there, done it, and got the t-shirts. I think for this fight, he just thought ‘I just want to get back to looking great’ and with that comes feeling great too, and being able to do the rounds.
“He’s happier knowing that he’s already in amazing shape now. He doesn’t have to think about getting weight off anymore. We’ve already done that. I’ve already got him the weight off. You’re gunna see another 50% on top of where he is now.”
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk
This first ever match-up between the Brit and the Ukrainian will not only decide who will be the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000, but also who will lose their undefeated status as a professional boxer.
Fury has held the WBC belt since defeating Deontay Wilder in their second fight in 2020, defending the crown three times (beating Wilder again, Dillian Whyte, and Derek Chisora) before his most recent fight against Ngannou. His record currently stands at 34-0-1, with the sole draw coming from the first title fight with Wilder.
In the opposite corner, Usyk is the unified heavyweight world champion with the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring titles on his resume. The Cat was a former undisputed champion of the cruiserweight class before claiming his current titles with victories over Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora. His most recent fight was a successful title defence against Daniel Dubois back in August 2023, sealing the Brit’s fate with a KO in the ninth round. The 37-year-old from Simferopol boasts a record of 21-0 and will look to keep that record intact against his fellow titan in Fury.
The biggest fight in heavyweight boxing history for a long time. Mark your calendars, as history beckons for the man from the United Kingdom or the man from Ukraine. One will stand on the top of the world, the other’s invincible reputation will fall.
The rest of the card for Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk has been announced, much to the dismay of boxing fans online.
HIGHLIGHTS
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s May clash in Riyadh will unify the heavyweight division for the first time since 1999.
The undercard includes undefeated contenders Sanchez and Kabayel, but fans aren’t overly impressed with the rest of the schedule.
Plenty are saying it’s the worst undercard ever, while others are using it to suggest UFC is much better than boxing.
It is now less than two months until Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet in an undisputed heavyweight title fight on the 18th of May, and the undercard for this clash has officially been announced, with a lot of fans left feeling rather shortchanged at the schedule.
The pair will finally meet in the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the winner becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since the four belts were introduced. They will also unify the division for the first time since 1999, when British great Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield. It isn’t just gold up for grabs, though, as the two will also be putting their undefeated records on the line, with neither tasting defeat yet in their professional careers.
However, this card has other big hitters to look out for, with his Excellency Turki Alalshikh attempting to go all out to make the undercard just as interesting as the main event – with his decision having mixed reactions online, depending on where you look it would seem.
The Undercard for Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk
Jai Opetaia vs. Mairis Briedis, Joe Cordins vs. Anthony Cacace, Mark Chamberlain vs. Joshua Oluwaseun, Sergey Kovalev vs. Robin Sirwan Safar, Isaac Lowe vs. Hasibullah Ahmadi, David Nyika vs. Michael Seitz, Moses Itauma vs. Ilja Mazencev
Heavyweight contenders Frank Sanchez and Agit Kabayel have been added to the ‘Ring of Fire’ undercard, with both fighters undefeated so far in their careers. Kabayel (24-0, 16 KOs) produced a surprising fourth-round knockout victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov on the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in December, despite fans tipping him to lose. As for Sanchez (24-0, 17 KOs), his seventh-round knockout win over Junior Fa kept his impressive record alive, but it was an expected victory after Fa had lost two of his previous three fights.
GIVEMESPORT’s Key Statistic: Tyson Fury has a reach of 85″, while Oleksandr Usyk only has a reach of 78″.
Also on the card is Opetaia-Briedis, with the pair already meeting in July 2022, when Opetaia beat the three-time cruiserweight champion on points. Joe Cordina will aim to defend his IBF super featherweight in a home nation meeting with Ireland’s Anthony Cacace. Mark Chamberlain will return to the Kingdom to face Joshua Oluwaseun after appearing on the Joshua-Ngannou undercard earlier this month. Chamberlain is one of Alalshikih’s favourite boxers and was handpicked by His Excellency after seeing him fight at York Hall. Itauman-Mazencev, Nyika-Seitz, Lowe-Ahmadi, and Kovalev-Safar complete the undercard for the night, with the reaction to it online being mixed.
Fans Aren’t Impressed
On X, formerly known as Twitter, many are saying that it is a “decent card” and they “don’t mind paying for it.” Whereas, over on Instagram, some are calling it the worst undercard they have seen, while the most liked comment said: “This is why UFC is so clear, never seen a stacked boxing card, and it’s always two interesting fights maximum.”
The Gypsy King looks completely different now to when he fought Francis Ngannou, and his nutritionist has revealed all.
This fight was originally scheduled for February, but was moved back to May after Fury suffered a nasty cut above his eye while sparring, but based off the reaction online, fans might feel the wait has been for nothing.
Carl Froch has once again criticised Tyson Fury’s boxing resume, dealing the ‘hard truth’ about the Gypsy King’s career.
HIGHLIGHTS
Carl Froch has doubled down on his belief that Tyson Fury’s boxing resume isn’t all that.
The Cobra has highlighted Fury’s poor showing against Francis Ngannou, comparing that to of Anthony Joshua’s.
Froch has also questioned the legitimacy of Fury’s win over Wladimir Klitschko, arguably the biggest win of his career.
Carl Froch has doubled down on his strong beliefs about Tyson Fury’s boxing resume, delivering the “hard truth” to his loyal fans in the process, suggesting the Gypsy King’s legacy is “in tatters” following his marginal points victory against boxing debutant Francis Ngannou.
Fury faced Ngannou in the bill ‘Battle of the Baddest’ in October 2023, with many believing it was going to be an easy fight for the former unified heavyweight titleholder. However, as the fight progressed, it was evident that it was going to be a struggle for the Brit, with him being knocked down in just the third round. Fury eventually ended up taking the victory on points, however, many fans and pundits believed it to be controversial and felt as if Ngannou dominated and was robbed of his first win.
Following this, Ngannou went on to face Anthony Joshua, who absolutely obliterated him and produced a clean knockout in the second round to win the fight. Prior to this fight, many believed that Ngannou was just a great fighter that almost stopped Fury, but Joshua showed his class and put that argument to bed.
Carl Froch Goes in on Tyson Fury’s Resume
It was this narrow victory for Fury which made Carl Froch question the legitimacy of the Gypsy King’s legacy, saying to Lucky Block, as per the Daily Star: “His best wins are Klitschko, who was 40 years old. I don’t need to repeat it. He’s beaten four world champions. He had three great fights with Deontay Wilder, but didn’t win all three of them. But that’s your resume? Deontay Wilder, Klitschko, and a guy called Steve Cunningham, who was a pumped-up cruiserweight who dropped Fury.”
How other boxers have dealt with the same opponents as Tyson Fury
Froch questioned the legitimacy of his victory against Wladimir Klitschko, which he won via unanimous decision, claiming that the age difference between the two was a key factor. Fury was 13 years younger than an ageing Klitschko, and narrowly defeated him. Just two years later, Joshua would face Dr. Steelhammer and defeated him by TKO in the 11th round after a terrific uppercut and a flurry of punches.
GIVEMESPORT’s Key Statistic : Tyson Fury has a 70.59% knockout percentage.
After Deontay Wilder’s poor performance against Joseph Parker in December 2023, a fight that saw the New Zealand boxer beat Wilder with ease, questions have also arisen about the performances that Fury put towards the Bronze Bomber. Fury and Wilder faced each other three times, the former winning twice and drawing once, which produced some of the greatest heavyweight fights of all time. In the first fight, the Brit shocked the world as he got up in the 12th round after being knocked down by a ‘perfect punch’ from the American. Fury then went on to win the next two fights of the trilogy between the two.
On the same night as Wilder vs Parker, Anthony Joshua also took on a former challenger to Tyson Fury in Otto Wallin. In September 2019, Fury beat Wallin after 12 rounds via unanimous decision (116-112, 117-111, and 118-110), but in the final rounds, he was seriously hurt from a big left hand from the Swede, which on another day could have been highly detrimental and lost him the fight. However, when Joshua faced him in December 2023, he made light work of Wallin, dominating him before his corner pulled him out after five rounds. Showcasing a competitive match-up against Fury, but an easy match-up for AJ.

The rest of the card for Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk has been announced, much to the dismay of boxing fans online.
Froch added: “And he struggled against Otto Wallin. The fight could have been stopped, but he still won. The problem with people is that they don’t like to hear criticism sometimes. And I’m very honest. It’s the hard truth.”
What Next for Tyson Fury
Fury is now set to fight Oleksandr Usyk, the current WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight world champion. The fight was originally set for the 17th of February, but was called off two weeks before fight night due to Fury sustaining a big cut in sparring.
“The plan is May 18. The unification of heavyweight titles. That’s not happened since Lennox Lewis in ‘98. But I’m still not convinced by Fury. I just don’t think Tyson Fury’s heart is in the game anymore,” Froch concluded.
The Cobra has continued to stand his ground in calling out Fury’s legacy, causing John Fury to call him out for a fight.

Victoria Beckham is reflecting on her decision to “close the chapter” of the Spice Girls.
In a letter to her future self for British Vogue, the fashion designer opened up about the moment she knew it was time to “uncover your own dreams” at an Elton John concert and step away from the girl group.
“He performed ‘Tiny Dancer,’ as if it were the first time, and you realized this was like oxygen for him,” the 46-year-old wrote, referring to John’s Las Vegas residency. “It was a life-changing moment — while singing and dancing was fun for you, it wasn’t your passion.”
“That day, you started your quest to uncover your own dreams. It was time to step away from being a Spice Girl,” she added. “For the first time, you were venturing out on your own, and it was terrifying. It was scary to close a chapter that defined you.”

Beckham went on to say how she continues “reinventing” herself and “ignoring the naysayers.”
“You always look beyond the conventional wisdom to pave your own path,” she wrote. “First, you found this passion in fashion, and most recently, beauty. What comes next? I’m dying to know.”
The letter in British Vogue is a follow-up to a letter she wrote to her 18-year-old self back in 2017, where she also spoke about her time in the group.

“Together you will make it OK to look different. And, as the Spice Girls, you will sell 75 million records,” she wrote to her younger self in 2017. “You cannot possibly imagine your future life right now. You will travel on private planes, visit incredible countries, stay in fantastic hotels.”
“You are lucky to be there,” she added then. If you don’t join the Spice Girls, you might always be that insecure person in that little shell, and you will never become who you truly are.”
Beckham decided not to join her former bandmates Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton when they decided to get back together in 2018. (Her last performance as a Spice Girl was at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.)
CHRISTIAN Horner’s sexting scandal will be covered in the next season of the hit Netflix show Drive to Survive.

It will potentially reopen wounds for Horner and his wife Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell as they attempt to move on from the drama.
Horner has previously raged against the scrutiny over the scandal – but now it will be the focus of the Netflix show watched by millions.
Brit filmmaker Gay-Rees revealed he has spoken to the Red Bull chief since the scandal broke before the start of the F1 season.
He claims the 50-year-old ex-racing driver told him: “This is all your fault.”
Horner appears to have been referencing the new focus Drive to Survive has put on F1 – especially drama and scandal behind the scenes of the Grand Prix circus.
Speaking of the scandal, Mr Gay-Rees said: “It will have to be referenced in some capacity, yeah.”
“And they will all want it to be told in a particular way, so it’s about treading that line to keep everybody happy, and to keep Netflix happy, and us – so we can sleep at night with the decisions we’ve made,” he told The Telegraph.
Horner was cleared of misconduct by a Red Bull investigation back in February.

But the scandal was taken to a new level when sexually suggestive texts appearing to be sent by Horner were leaked.
Horner’s accuser – a female colleague – has since been suspended by Red Bull and has appealed the decision.
‘We’re always grateful’, says Christian Horner as he hails wife Geri Halliwell in Mother’s Day post amid sexting scandal
And she reportedly plans to take her case to an employment tribunal as she wants to return to work for the championship-winning team.
Mr Gay-Rees said: “You have to have balance. I think Horner is looking ok for the time being, but it doesn’t feel like it’s done yet.
“It will all depend on how it plays out.”
‘I don’t know what he got up to – and I genuinely don’t have an opinion on it, but he’s been through it and you wouldn’t wish that on anybody.”
Horner’s accuser is reportedly “in it for the long haul” as she continues to fight against the decision to clear her boss, reports The Independent.
A source said: “She remains resolute and is in it for the long haul.
“She’s holding her council for now and wants the matter dealt with privately.”
Horner has always denied any wrongdoing over the allegations and blasted the infamous text leak as “anonymous speculation”.
He has demanded an end to the drama which he described as a “very trying period” for his family.
His wife Geri has stood by him – appearing at his side at the races in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, both won by Red Bull.
Red Bull are first in both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships after a dominant start to the season.
Horner’s star driver Max Verstappen will be looking for his fourth world championship in a row – and won the first two races.
He was only undone in Australia when his brakes caught fire after he lost first place to Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz.
Verstappen however remains the hot favourite for the title.
And the Dutchman, 26, has been one of the most vocal critics of Drive to Survive.
He had previously boycotted the show, refusing any interviews – claiming it had faked storylines and made the drama “over the top”.
Speaking earlier this year, he said: “You don’t see a lot of me on Drive to Survive, which is why I don’t like doing it.
“You probably don’t get the right side of me because it is just an interview, I am just sitting down in a dark room and I hate that.
“They put a mic in front of you and you have to talk about the season which… just have a casual interaction, have fun.”
MERCEDES are pursuing Fernando Alonso to replace Lewis Hamilton, according to reports.
The Silver Arrows are set to have huge shoes to fill, with seven-time world champion Hamilton, 39, joining Ferrari next season.

Team principal Toto Wolff has admitted that he would love to have Max Verstappen onboard.
He said of the Red Bull star: “There is no team that wouldn’t do handstands to have him in the car.”
With Verstappen under contract until 2028, however, Wolff is likely to have to look elsewhere.
Prior to the season, the 52-year-old admitted that he will have a big decision to make whether to go with youth or experience when replacing Hamilton.
According to Bild, Mercedes could go with the latter, with Alonso in their sights.
They claim that the Spaniard, 42, has a “good chance” of ending up with Mercedes, and that the Silver Arrows are already “dealing with” Alonso.
The two-time world champion’s deal with Aston Martin is set to expire at the end of the season.
Last month, he said on his future: “If I want to keep racing beyond this year, the first and only talk at the beginning will be Aston Martin.
“I trust this project and that will be my first priority. But if we cannot reach an agreement I know that I am attractive to other teams.
“I will not stay in Formula One just to have fun. I am not that kind of person and not that kind of driver. Let’s see what the options are.”
Watch Mercedes boss Toto Wolff hilariously mock Fernando Alonso after Spaniard almost crashed into Lewis Hamilton
Alonso has not managed to secure a podium in his Aston Martin so far this season.
He came ninth in the Bahrain opener, before finishing fifth in Saudi Arabia.
Should Mercedes opt to go for youth, they could swoop for 17-year-old Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
The wonderkid is competing in Formula 2 this season for Prema Racing.
The potential of the Iron Mike was so great that he could dominate the ring for many years, but despite all brutality and aggressiveness that he displayed he was a person who needed very delicate psychological support. When Cus d’Amato and later Kevin Rooney were beside him, Mike was a real machine of knockouts.
Iron Mike Tyson dismissive of new WBC ‘bridgerweight’ division
‘ The Baddest Man on the Planet’ – Iron Mike Tyson has spoken out on the new super cruiserweight division unveiled by the World Boxing Council.
Tyson aired his views on the new weight class introduced for smaller heavyweight fighters between 200 and 224 pounds.
The 54-year-old, who fought his career between 213 and 233 pounds from 1985 and 2005, was a light world champion.
But speaking to Dan Cannobio of CompuBox TV, Tyson said he wouldn’t be interested in moving down to a lower weight.
Also, organizations should only class boxers over 200 pounds in the top division.
“The size of the man shouldn’t matter. If he’s over 200 pounds, he’s a heavyweight,” Tyson told Cannobio. “That’s what makes heavyweight fighting better than all the other weights.
“A little heavyweight can beat a giant. It’s all about your fighting spirit, not how much you weigh,” he added.
The fact that no other major sanctioning bodies have followed suit tells the story in this case. However, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman is unmoved.
Two contenders who make their application to compete successfully will soon be put forward for the vacant title.
Deontay Wilder, the current smallest of the most significant heavyweight names, has already ruled himself out.
“If it’s specifically designed for me and to be the face of it, I decline,” he pointed out to Brian Custer on The Last Stand Podcast.
“My career is to be a heavyweight. That’s what I got in it for, and that’s what I’m going to end with, and guys always outweigh me.
“In my last fight, I was 231, so as far as putting on weight, that’s not a difficult part of me.
“My power makes up for all that. I have too much power for a weight class that low. I should be exempt from that.”
Previously, Wilder was linked to facing Oleskandr Usyk for the strap. Usyk, too is happy to wait for his mandated shot at Anthony Joshua.
Despite the top name blows, there surely won’t be any takers shortage once the WBC gets the ball rolling.
Furthermore, ratings for the ‘bridgerweight’ division are due out next month.

Mike Tyson has issued a frightening warning to Jake Paul ahead of their fight on July 20.
Tyson is returning to the ring for what could be his first professional fight since 2005.
The Baddest Man on the Planet will take on 9-1 Paul in a heavyweight encounter at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, live on Netflix.
The 57-year-old’s last foray into the squared circle was an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr in 2020, with Paul making his debut on the undercard.
He remains in top shape four years on and has been looking sharp in training footage.
And over on SnapChat, Tyson has sent another message to his upcoming opponent.
There was a close-up image of him with sweat all over his face, with the words, “Everyone has a plan ’till they” – the start of the Tyson’s memorable phrase about strategy going out of the window when punched square in the face.

Tyson’s coach Rafael Cordeiro believes the fight will be “technical” as opposed to a “massacre” and that Paul will feel Iron Mike’s “heavy hands”.
“This fight won’t be a massacre, it’s going to be a very technical match, because we have a kid on the other side that can box and isn’t afraid,” Cordeiro said in an interview with MMA Fighting.
“Mike has such heavy hands, and it will be impossible not to touch Jake. Jake will feel Mike’s hands, there’s no other way, and that’s when we’ll have an idea on how the fight will go. It’s going to be interesting to see.
“Panic – he [Paul] will panic. “That’s the goal. Our goal is to keep Jake in panic the entire fight. Or for as long as he can take it.”
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations will determine whether his encounter with Paul is official, while Tyson is required to undergo a brain test for the bout to take place.
