Tyson Fury spoke very differently before his throat was damaged.

Tyson Fury’s voice was completely different before his throat was permanently damaged from a punch and it sounds very weird to hear.

Fury is well known for his iconic voice as he’s trash-talked his way to the top of the heavyweight division, capturing the WBC title.

But if you haven’t followed his career from an early stage, then you might not know about his speaking voice when he was a budding prospect.

Ahead of making his professional debut on the undercard of Carl Froch vs. Jean Pascal in 2008, Fury spoke at a press conference, revealing a totally different voice to now.

These days the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ speaks with a raspy, husky tone due to a direct result of being punched in the throat during a sparring session with light-heavyweight fighter Ty Mitchell back in 2015.

He explained his voice change during an interview on The MMA Hour.

“It wasn’t always like this though, this isn’t my original voice,” he told Ariel Helwani.

“If you go back and look at interviews from like 2010 onwards right up until about 2016, I didn’t have this voice.

“One of my good friends, Ty Mitchell… We were sparring and he hit me in the throat real hard and I developed a blood clot in my throat.

“It messed around with my vocal words so this is why I talk like this now… Some would say it’s quite sexy, I’ve been told.”

Fury’s whole look and voice has completely changed since 2008, but he’s become famed for his new style.

If there’s something spicy cooking in the MMA scene, you can expect UFC legend Chael Sonnen to talk about it. In one of his recent YouTube videos, the former UFC Light Heavyweight took his time to praise the ‘Stylebender’ Israel Adesanya. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg! The veteran also made stark comments on another evergreen hot topic – the legendary boxing bout between Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.

Speaking of the iconic boxing match, he also spilled the beans on why he thinks it was a ‘fraud’. Sonnen reasoned that though the fight generated a staggering $35 million, it was knitted by deceit and lies. But how could a lied-about fight generate such a huge purse? No one knows for sure. But Sonnen has a lot to say!

In a recent episode of ‘Beyond the Fight’, Chael Sonnen, the ‘Bad Guy’ of the UFC, shared his thoughts on the world of UFC and MMA, including his views on the controversial Mike Tyson vs Lennox Lewis fight.

Sonnen said, “And the only reason it upset me is all of the things that went into it – including a Commission hearing where Tyson was sworn under oath and he took it all back – took it all back. It was all a lie right there- in front of the world, and [Tyson] said – ‘I love this man’…”

The fight upset Sonnen because of the deceit surrounding it. Pre-fight, Tyson had gone through a Commission hearing where he swore under oath, only to retr act his statements later. Sonnen felt that the whole episode was a ‘lie’ presented to the world.

“I really thought that was an underhanded thing to do. It was meant out of sportsmanship man! Mike was just trying to bury the hatchet.”

Tyson’s proclamation of love for Lewis was probably just supposed to bury the hatchet, but turned into a ‘promotional stunt’. Sonnen seemed stern in his belief that this was morally wrong.

 

Sonnen’s verdict on the fight – A lie for the sake of a grudge

Prior to delving into discussing the fight, Sonnen was talking about ‘grudges’. Yes, you heard it right – and that too, while praising ‘Izzy’. The UFC legend labeled Adesanya as the guy who understands the ‘grudge.’

“Then you have a guy like Adesanya that knows – he understands the ‘grudge’, guys. But there has to be an honor to a grudge…there really does, and it can be self-serving.”

And this connects back to the Tyson vs Lewis match as well. Why? Well, according to Sonnen, the fight was never sold or marketed based on the fighters’ skills or their powerful punches. Instead, it was all about a supposed grudge that Tyson now claimed ‘didn’t even exist’.

Sonnen expressed his disappointment, stating that he found it lacking sportsmanship. He believed that Tyson should have refunded the spectators who paid to watch the fight.

“I watched one that really upset me. It was Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis… This fight did not sell, nor did you even try to sell it based on left and right hands. It was completely about a grudge that you’re[Tyson] now telling us didn’t exist…”

Lewis Hamilton would have felt like leaving Mercedes prematurely after the wretched start to their 2024 season. What was a major overhaul of their car concept has turned out to be more of the same old issues the Brackley team has faced since 2022, just in a different shape or form. However, their performance at the Japanese GP so far this weekend seems to suggest that Mercedes have rediscovered at least some of their lost form. The Briton highlighted how it was the “nicest” feeling he had in the Mercedes car in the past three years, after a decent qualifying in Suzuka.

According to Motorsport Week, Hamilton said, “I think we did a really good job over this past week. The analysis everyone has done at the factory (about) how we can get the car in the sweet spot. The car’s been much nicer to drive this weekend, especially at a track like this where you need a nice balance. This is the nicest it’s felt over the last three years.“

The seven-time champion contrasted the Japanese GP weekend so far with the one he had in Australia, and how he feels much better and more comfortable in the W15. He mentioned that their 2024 challenger “only likes to work in this little section”, highlighting how it only has a ‘little’ sweet spot as its ideal working window.

Hamilton then also compared how they were over a “second off” in Japan last year to the ultimate pace. That deficit has reduced to only “seven-tenths” this time around, claimed Hamilton. Apparently, the Silver Arrows have seen several such moments of hope throughout the past two seasons, but every time it has turned out to be a false dawn.

Can their performance at the Japanese GP finally turn out to be the table-turning moment for Mercedes? As for Hamilton, he would want it to be, given that he is still dedicated to performing at his best for the Brackley-based outfit.

Not the first time Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have been hopeful since 2022

Mercedes clearly have taken wrong turns in terms of car development several times since 2022. Still, they have faced certain moments when their car seemed to be working better.

The 2022 Spanish GP and the British GP were two such races when the W13 took performance steps and they seemingly resolved the porpoising issue. This perhaps pushed the Brackley team to carry on with their zero pod concept and not drop it for 2023.

Their faith in the risky concept also got vindication with George Russell’s win at the 2022 Brazilian GP. Even Lewis Hamilton felt good about that win, as he was only a second away to complete a 1-2 finish at Interlagos.

However, when Mercedes started the 2023 season with an evolution of their zero side pod concept, it unraveled more problems for them. While Hamilton was not having a rollercoaster ride and getting backaches due to porpoising, the W14 just did not have the pace to get the team closer to fighting for wins, let alone the championship.

When they brought a B-spec version in Monaco and Spain, dropping the zero pod concept, it again felt like they could turn a corner to get back to the front. However, as Hamilton suggested they unlocked some rear instability problems, which made the W14 more unstable.

So, whenever Mercedes has got some moments of hope, they have unlocked some more demons in their car. Hamilton and Co. would now hope that their performance at the Japanese GP this weekend does not become another false dawn!

Victoria Beckham is raising her daughter with kindness in mind.

On Sunday, the pop icon and fashion designer, 49, shared a series of photos with her 12-year-old daughter Harper, celebrating Anti Bullying Week on her Instagram. The mother-daughter duo poses for two photos, smiling together. In an added video, Victoria discusses her own bullying story, which she expands upon in her caption.

“BE THE KINDEST IN THE CLASSROOM!” she began her caption. “I’m so proud to raise a strong and caring daughter!”

“Growing up I was bullied a lot at school, and I often tell Harper how important it is to be kind and call out if anyone is ever bullied — especially if there’s ever another little girl on her own in the playground, because that was once her mummy!”

Victoria shares her four kids — Harper, Cruz, 18, Romeo, 21, and Brooklyn, 24 — with husband David Beckham, 48.

In September, Victoria presented her Spring/Summer 2024 fashion line in Paris and was supported by Harper, Cruz, Brooklyn and husband David, who all sat front row at the show.

Prior to the big event, David got a makeover from Harper in preparation for Victoria’s show, posting the sweet video to his Instagram. Using a makeup brush on her dad’s forehead and cheeks, Harper gives David a touch-up to the tune of a Taylor Swift song.

“My little makeup artist is good & has a great playlist 🎶 @taylorswift … We are on our way mummy @victoriabeckham ❤️,” the proud dad wrote in his caption.

This wasn’t the first time David has let his daughter do his touch-ups. In late July, the athlete shared another Instagram post of Harper doing his makeup.

“Daddy apparently needed a little powder & contouring (not sure what that means but I looked better what ever it was) my little makeup artist @victoriabeckham,” he wrote as the caption of the sweet father-daughter moment.

The family celebrated Victoria Beckham’s 45th birthday at a dinner outing

On Wednesday night, the whole family gathered to celebrate Victoria Beckham‘s 45th birthday at a candlelit dinner. Along with her husband David Beckham, all four of their children, Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 14, and Harper, 7, got together to celebrate Victoria.

The family of seven sat a round table and posed for a sweet group photo, which Victoria shared on her Instagram.

“The most beautiful day with my favorite people in the world,” the mom of four’s Instagram caption read. ” I Love u so so so much xxx kisses from a very loved mummy and wife.”

Brooklyn’s girlfriend, model Hana Cross, was also at the family gathering. The pair confirmed their relationship in December on Instagram, after Brooklyn had previously been involved with Madison Beer and Chloe Grace Moretz.

Before the dinner outing, David, 43, shared his personal happy birthday wish for his wife of almost 20 years on Instagram.

Since their marriage in 1999, the couple has been vocal of their love for one another, with Victoria commending her husband’s support in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in February.

The Beckham family also recently celebrated Victoria’s 45th birthday on April 17, similarly spoiling their famous mom with gifts, posts and a warm candlelit dinner.

Beckham and Peltz confirmed their engagement on July 11 in a pair of matching social media posts, hours after reports about their engagement first began circulating online.

“Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes,” Beckham wrote alongside a romantic engagement snap of the newly-engaged couple.

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham celebrated their youngest child’s 10th birthday Saturday, sharing sweet tributes to their daughter on Instagram.

“Happy 10th birthday Harper Seven, the most beautiful young lady inside and out. Kind, loving, caring and sweet. Our everything 💕we love you so so much x Can’t believe you are 10 years old today!! 😇 x,” wrote Victoria, 47, while sharing a throwback video.

In a previous interview with The Father Hood, David opened up about becoming a dad “at a very young age.”

“I think you mature quicker with kids. You have more important things in life to worry about than your everyday worries, and life becomes all about the kids,” he said at the time. “I think that’s what you learn as a father – you become less important and it’s all about your children.”

Also in the interview, David went on to share how his own father, Ted, inspires him in his parenting.

“‘Never give up, no matter what.’ That was one of the things that my dad would always say to me. If I got a kick in a game, I’d look over to him and he’d be like, ‘Get up! Get up! Don’t show people that you’re hurt!’ There was a steeliness that he kind of instilled ino me on that side,” he said. “It actually made me stronger as a person.”

On her Instagram Story in February, Victoria shared two sweet handwritten notes that her then-9-year-old daughter had written to her and David. One letter addressed to her “mummy” read, “I love you so much and I love when we always do our makeup together you are my heart and I love you.”

“Sleep well sweet dreams,” the note continued, alongside several drawing of hearts. “Love, Harper.”

When dad David Beckham got home, he also got an animal-inspired makeover. Victoria shared a snap of the soccer stud, 42, with brown marks resembling ears on his forehead, a dash of paint on his nose and glitter being applied to his cheeks as he smiled at his daughter.

The Beckhams have been spending a lot of quality time as a family, including getting together to celebrate Eva Longoria as she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month.

Victoria, dressed in a white dress and purple heels, shared a snap with her husband, both wearing sunglasses.

The fashion designer and Harper also busted a move in a mother-daughter Boomerang captioned, “Dancing and having fun in sunshine x kisses from mummy and Harper x.”
