Exclusive: Promoter Frank Warren Discloses Fight Date and Location for Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Bout.
Posted March 25, 2024 by TP2302
According to Frank Warren, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will probably face off in Saudi Arabia in March of the next year.
According to the Queensberry promoter, Fury and Alexander Usyk will square off twice this year, delaying Joshua’s return until 2025.
The money associated with Usyk and Fury’s undisputed title fight on May 18—an estimated £100 million for the winner—leads him to believe that the loser will force a rematch.
‘Next March, if Tyson does what I believe he’ll do and AJ continues to win, I’m sure that’ll set up a big fight,’ Warren told Sky Sports.
‘It’s like going back to the late 60s, 70s, that’s what’s happening now. These guys are all fighting each other.’
Frank Warren stated that Anthony Joshua could have to wait until March of next year to take against Tyson Fury.
Warren disclosed that following two bouts between the Gypsy King and Oleksandr Usyk, AJ and Fury might square off in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua and Fury could cross paths twice. They may agree to a two-fight contract, with one match taking place at Wembley Stadium, Eddie Hearn said earlier this week.
For financial reasons, Warren thinks they will have to fight at least once in the Middle East.
He said: ‘I’ve got to be honest, I think that is where it will go. Of course, I’d like them in the UK.
‘I look back when I was younger – all those many, many, many years ago – I look at all those really great fighters like Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, where did they put their big fight on?
‘The Rumble in the Jungle [in what was then Zaire]. Where did George Foreman fight Frazier? In Jamaica. The Thriller in Manila. That’s what happens. Because they went where the money is.
‘Those fights I mentioned took place in places you’d never dream of boxing taking place.
‘Traditionally it would have either gone to New York, then it became Las Vegas with the casinos.
‘They’re professional sportsmen. And boxers, unlike most sportsmen their career is very limited. One on your block and it can be all over. So you’ve got to make hay while the sun shines.’
Joshua needs to fill his time and find somebody to fight before Fury.
After beating Francis Ngannou, some possible option are Filip Hrgovic, Deontay Wilder, and Joseph Parker.
Fury will clash against Usyk on 18 May for a purse reportedly worth up to £100million
Details of the time and location of the “classic British boxing civil war” between Tyson Fury – Anthony Joshua have just been revealed by famous manager Frank Warren.
The highly anticipated fight, the “classic British boxing civil war” between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, has just revealed more details about the time and location of the fight. This time, the person who spoke up to share was famous manager and promoter Frank Warren, owner of Queensberry Promoter.
When will the “classic boxing civil war” between the two best boxers in British history, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, take place?
According to Frank Warren, the ideal all-British heavyweight match between Joshua – Fury will take place and most appropriately “in March”. Of course, this year is impossible, so Frank Warren’s target time is March 2025. The reason the timeline for the Joshua – Fury fight has been pushed so far is because it depends on the classic heavyweight title unification match between Fury – Usyk on May 18.
“The Fury – Usyk fight is tied to huge financial terms and that’s why the loser will definitely trigger the rematch clause. Fury and Usyk will fight 2 matches this year, that is reality. Thus, the Joshua – Fury match will reasonably take place in March 2025,” Frank Warren declared.
In addition to pointing out the timeline, Warren also confidently affirmed “at least Joshua and Fury will have to fight one match in West Asia and the venue will almost certainly be Saudi Arabia.”
“Looking back at history, the classic matches between Muhammad Ali – George Foreman took place in Zaire, Africa, or between George Foreman – Joe Frazier in Jamaica, Central America. That’s what happened. They fought in places that bring in tons of money. The Joshua – Fury match is the same, they will fight at least one match in Saudi Arabia. The tradition of fighting 1 match in New York and then 1 match in Las Vegas in some casino has been established. change,” the head of Queensberry Promoter, the unit representing Tyson Fury himself, shared.

Before Frank Warren, famous manager Eddie Hearn also revealed similar information. The head of the Matchroom Boxing promotion unit, which represents Anthony Joshua, said that the Joshua – Fury match will be bet on 2 matches, with 1 match in Saudi Arabia and the remaining match brought back to England as the venue. The venue is Wembley Stadium.
Obviously, both Warren and Hearn are very excited with the “2 best fighting cocks” scenario they manage: Joshua – Fury will fight 2 matches. If the time frame is March 2025, Joshua will have a lot of time to prepare as well as prepare his opponent for the next match while Fury is busy fighting Usyk.

After knocking out Ngannou in the second round of the fight on March 9, Joshua is being recruited by a series of powerful fighters such as Filip Hrgovic, Joseph Parker or another fellow countryman, Daniel Dubois.
It’s almost certain that in June or July, Joshua will have a fierce match. Currently, the 34-year-old two-time world heavyweight champion is on a streak of 4 consecutive wins. Joshua’s goal is to regain all the prestigious belts he lost after two losses to Usyk.
Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward battled through what awe-struck trainer Emmanuel Steward called ‘the round of the century’ twenty years ago – but where does it feature in talkSPORT’s top twelve greatest rounds of all-time?
A lot can happen in three minutes. Heavyweight wars, dazzling recoveries and even a few stunning blowouts all feature in our countdown.

Because we’re not judging this purely on action – the significance of each bout is also a factor.
So rounds between pound-for-pound legends, or within fights which have undisputed world titles on the line, rank above those which took place in Eddie Hearn’s back garden during lockdown (no offence, Ed).
Now, let’s count down the most awesome twelve rounds boxing has ever seen.
12. Mike Tyson vs Michael Spinks: Round 1 (1988)
Barely half a round – 91 seconds – but enough drama to win Ring Magazine’s ‘Round of the Year’ award in 1988, and you can understand why.
Two undefeated heavyweights, each with a claim to the world title, met, and a ferocious 21-year-old Mike Tyson walked through what was supposed to be his toughest test, bludgeoning Michael Spinks to the canvas twice.
Spinks never fought again, while ‘Baddest man on the Planet’ Tyson violently lived up to his billing.
11. Andy Ruiz Jr vs Anthony Joshua I: Round 3 (2019)
Anthony Joshua’s US debut was going to plan when he blasted Andy Ruiz Jr to the canvas with a left hook early in the third round. What was not in the script was AJ getting caught going for the finish, badly wobbled, put down twice, and barely surviving the round.
A shocking single-round turnaround in a fight that ended with tubby late-replacement Ruiz taking the unbeaten record and world titles of the muscular Brit at a raucous Madison Square Garden.

‘The Rumble in the Jungle’ ended with Muhammad Ali stopping big, bad George Foreman in round eight. But the fight swung in the fifth.
An angry Foreman spent it swinging crude haymakers at Ali’s head and body – battering down the older man’s defences.
Until, with 35 seconds left, Ali sprung off the ropes and stung Foreman with lightning accuracy, sending him reeling and the crowd in Kinshasa wild. Ali was shaking up the world once again.

Heavyweight champion Joe Louis’ attempt to avenge his only defeat to Max Schmeling was loaded with intrigue: an African-American fighting a German a year before the outbreak of World War II.
In the ring, it was brutality. Louis jumped on Schmeling in front of 70,000+ at Yankee Stadium, knocking him down three times and leaving his challenger with cracked ribs and two broken vertebrae.
Schmeling spent two months in hospital recovering from a two-minute fight.
8. Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder I: Round 12 (2018)
The recovery that launched a hundred memes. When fearsome Deontay Wilder dropped Tyson Fury hard in the final round of their showdown, he looked out cold.
Except Fury opened his eyes at the count of five, was on his feet by nine, dodged Wilder’s follow-up bombs with his hands behind his back, and then was stalking and hurting Wilder by the final bell.
The decision, a draw, was controversial, but round twelve was all anyone could talk about post-fight.

7. Erik Morales vs Marco Antonio Barrera I: Round 5 (2000)
You could include any of the twelve rounds of the first Mexican uncivil war between bitter enemies Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera.
But the fifth took an already gripping 122lb clash to a new level as Barrera bloodied Morales’ nose, ‘El Terrible’ came firing back with his own power punches, and the momentum shifted back and forth as the crowd reached fever pitch.
It was an astonishing mixture of will and skill that sums up what would become an epic trilogy.
6. Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield I: Round 10 (1992)
“What heart by Holyfield!” cried commentator Jim Lampley.
After a Riddick Bowe uppercut had sent Evander flailing around the ring on rubbery legs, ‘The Real Deal’ somehow stayed upright, survived Bowe’s onslaught, and by the end of the round, was miraculously teeing off on his rival with hooks and uppercuts.
Bowe would get the decision in a war that sparked a memorable trilogy, but this round should have been scored 11-11 by all ringside judges.

What happens when two giant heavyweights base their tactics entirely on Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots?
You get George Foreman’s slugfest with Ron Lyle, containing a wild fourth round in which the mighty Foreman was battered to the canvas, then put down Lyle before the pair just winged hooks at each other until Foreman collapsed onto his side at the bell.
‘Big George’ looked cooked but somehow recovered in the break to win in round five. Incredible.
4. Micky Ward vs Arturo Gatti I: Round 9 (2002)
When Arturo ‘Thunder’ Gatti sank to his knees after a savage body shot early in round nine, his face screwed up in the definition of agony.
He got up but could not raise his fists, allowing Micky Ward to bash his head. On the verge of being stopped, Gatti dug deep, bloodying Ward’s eye and causing disbelief ringside.
Momentum swung like the pair’s blows, and the numbers at the end were scarcely believable: a total of 102 power punches landed in three minutes of utter carnage.
Two more wars would follow, but nothing would top this.
Gatti’s fights with Ward will live long in the memoryCredit: Getty3. Jack Dempsey vs AngelFirpo: Round 1 (1923)
Just the ten knockdowns in round one (in the days before standing eight counts or neutral corners) when heavyweight champ Jack Dempsey fought Argentinian bull, Angel Firpo.
Dempsey scored more, but Firpo nailed the best: hammering Dempsey out of the ring and crashing into the press row just before the round ended.
“What round did he knock me out in?” a dazed Dempsey inquired of his corner when sat on the stool, only to be loudly informed that he was still in the fight.
He promptly got up and knocked Firpo out in round two.
2. DiegoCorrales vs Jose LuisCastillo I: Round 10 (2005)
The craziest ending to a fight boxing has ever seen.
Jose Luis Castillo pulverised lanky bomber Diego Corrales to the canvas twice in round ten, all but ending their battle. A desperate Corrales spat out his mouthpiece twice, costing him a point (which seemed the least of his worries).
“You gotta f**king get inside on him now,” offered trainer Joe Goossen. So Corrales, eyes almost swollen shut, did just that, catching Castillo coming in and slamming him with hooks until the referee, Tony Weeks, dived in to save the beaten Mexican on the ropes.
An unreal turnaround.
1. Marvin Hagler vs Tommy Hearns: Round 1 (1985)
Marvelous Marvin Hagler walked around in fight week in a bad mood, a three-letter word emblazoned on his baseball cap: ‘War’.
Unimpressed that many boxing figures were picking dangerous Detroit puncher Tommy Hearns to capture his middleweight world titles, Hagler planned to fight fire with fire from the opening bell.
‘The Hitman’ was never one to back down, so two all-time greats started at 100mph and then sped up, rocking one another with crisp, sublime power shots. Hearns was hurt, Hagler was badly cut, “This is still the first round!” gasped commentator Al Michaels.
Hagler would go on to win a three-round adrenaline rush of a fight, but the first round set a new standard in jaw-dropping thrills.

Frank Warren says Tyson Fury’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk “will be announced in due course” following Saturday’s thrilling fight in Saudi Arabia.
Usyk beat Fury by split decision in Riyadh to become undisputed world heavyweight champion.
Queensbury promoter Warren said a second bout between the two fighters will soon be confirmed, touting it to be better than last week’s classic.
Speaking at the announcement of Queensbury’s Magnificent Seven card on July 20, Warren told the PA news agency: “There will be a rematch and that will be confirmed and announced in due course.

“I think it will be better than the original fight. They both know each other, they’ve shared the ring and they’ll be looking to use what they’ve gained from the fight as an advantage to beat their opponent.”
Usyk handed Fury his first professional defeat.
Warren believes the ‘Gypsy King’ already has a legacy in boxing but a victory against Usyk, who has won all of his 22 fight,s would further cement it.
“I think his legacy is there,” he said.
“Of course, he wants to win and he’s got to win. He’s only asking for the rematch because he thinks he can win. He believes in himself and it would cement his legacy.

“Everyone out there thinks Usyk is the best out there so let’s see what Tyson does. He rang me and he said he wants the rematch so here we are.”
Warren, who signed Fury ahead of his comeback in 2018, predicts his fighter to get the job done second time around.
When asked why Fury would win the rematch, Warren said: “He’s a fighting man, it’s what he brings to the ring. He’s been caught a couple of times in his last couple of fights but he gets up and shows what he’s made of.
“I don’t want to see that happen. But like Usyk, he’s very similar, they’re very cute guys who know their boxing and I have confidence in Tyson.
“That fight has taken a lot out of both of them so we will see.”
Carl Froch has revealed some shocking details that he’s heard about Mike Tyson’s pay for the Jake Paul fight.
‘Iron Mike’ returns to the ring for the first time in nearly four years when last time out he faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.
Despite the 30 year age-gap between Tyson and Paul the fight is a professionally sanctioned contest with knockouts permitted.
And former super-middleweight world champion, Carl Froch has revealed that Tyson will shockingly get paid LESS if he knocks out Jake Paul.
Froch said when speaking to safebettingsites : “From what I’m hearing with the contracts, allegedly, he gets paid less if he wins in round one, Tyson, or if he gets a knockout he gets paid even less.
There’s restrictions in his contract based on how he wins. I don’t know if it’s been confirmed, but I’ve read somewhere that there’s a clause in his contract that means he’s going to earn less money if he goes out there and destroys Jake Paul.”
Mike Tyson takes on Jake Paul on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Mike Tyson has explained that the passing of his мother led hiм to Ƅe the мan he is today.
‘Iron Mike’ is one of the greatest heaʋyweight Ƅoxers to eʋer grace the ring. At just 20 years old, he мade history Ƅy capturing heaʋyweight gold against Treʋor BerƄick. For Tyson, it was a crowning мoмent that noƄody saw coмing, haʋing just started his professional career less than two years prior.
Howeʋer, one has to wonder if he would’ʋe had мuch success in the ring without his upbringing. Anyone who knows Tyson’s stories aƄout his youth knows that his life was filled with ʋiolence and instaƄility. Raised in Brownsʋille, Brooklyn, his father walked out on hiм when he was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧.
As a result, Lorna Tyson was left to raise Mike Tyson and three other 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. In 1982, she was tragically diagnosed with late-stage cancer, passing away that year. In an interʋiew with CluƄShayShay, the Ƅoxer explained how his мother’s passing was a good thing for hiм.
In a 2020 interʋiew, Tyson stated:
“You know, one of the Ƅest things that eʋer happened to мe is that мy мother died. Because мy мother would haʋe ‘ƄaƄied’ мe. There’s no way I would eʋer got into a street fight. No way I would eʋer learn to stand up for мyself.”
Mike Tyson opens up on relationship with his мother
While Mike Tyson Ƅelieʋes his мother’s passing could’ʋe Ƅeen a good thing professionally, it was crushing personally.
‘Iron Mike’ Ƅecaмe heaʋyweight chaмpion just four years after the passing of his мother. After Lorna’s passing, Tyson was eʋentually adopted Ƅy legendary trainer Cus D’Aмoto. Oʋer the following years, the trainer мolded hiм into an all-tiмe great.
Howeʋer, in a 2010 interʋiew with <eм>BleacherReport</eм>, Mike Tyson discussed his upbringing in depth. There, the Ƅoxer stated that he honestly didn’t really get to know his мother and that it was extreмely crushed.
Furtherмore, he didn’t feel like his мother really knew hiм мuch either. Well, she knew that Tyson was always causing trouƄle, Ƅut that was it. In the interʋiew, he stated:
<eм>“I neʋer saw мy мother happy with мe and proud of мe for doing soмething. She only knew мe as Ƅeing a wild kid running the streets, coмing hoмe with new clothes that she knew I didn’t pay for. I neʋer got a chance to talk to her or know aƄout her. Professionally, it has no effect, Ƅut it’s crushing eмotionally and personally.”</eм>
Mike Tyson is a boxing icon and finished his illustrious career with a record of (50-6).
‘Iron Mike’ is still one the most recognisable men on planet, having bludgeoned his way to the undisputed heavyweight championship.
Surprisingly he returns to professional boxing for the first time since a somewhat sad performance against Kevin McBride in 2005 when he takes on Jake Paul on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Ahead of the clash he spoke with Nick Kyrgios to discuss those that inspired him to lace up the gloves
“Oh, Roberto Duran. Number one, yeah,” Tyson said.
“And Ali? Anyone like that?” Kyrgios responded.
Tyson then replied with what influence ‘The Greatest’ had when it came to his own boxing career.
“No, Ali caused me to be interested in boxing, but Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard made me want to fight.”
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul were due to box on July 20th but after the icon’s health issues the fight was scrapped.
Tyson suffered a recent ulcer flare up which meant he was unable to train for his bout with the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
But another of the sports legends Roy Jones Jr. has thrown his name into the hat to take on ‘The Problem Child’.
Speaking to Betway he said: “With the situation of the [Tyson vs Paul] fight, I think that’s a great idea. And I’ll be ready and in shape, because if the fight doesn’t happen, then I’m the ideal guy to substitute in place of Mike Tyson to fight Jake Paul. It is something I have been thinking about.”
“If the [Jake Paul] fight is out there, then yes [I would take it].”
“The other day somebody asked me whether I would fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in an exhibition, and that’s crazy. I would jump on it, but now that this thing has come up, it makes sense to get into shape [to fight] Jake Paul.”
“It would be one of the biggest fights of this decade.”
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul collide on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The boxing legend reportedly became nauseous and dizzy on board a recent flight when flying from Miami to LA and it is believed to be caused by an ulcer flare up.
Paramedics rushed to the plane to provide medical assistance to Tyson while an announcement calling for a doctor was made in the plane, as per eyewitness.
A member of Tyson’s team has provided an update on the former undisputed heavyweight king.
They told the New York Post: “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing.
“He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
According to the Sun an eyewitness said: “He was in first class, but we were an exit row.”
“They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. [The stewardess] said something like, ‘He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.’ I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words ‘Mike Tyson’ and she nodded her head yes.”
Much has been made of Tyson’s ill health ahead of his clash with the YouTuber-turned-boxer and the fight announcement has been controversial due to the age gap and worries over Tyson’s well being.
Chael Sonnen claims he is ready to step in to fight Jake Paul on July 20th.
It emerged that Mike Tyson had suffered a medical emergency on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday and that he was treated for an ulcer flare up after he had become nauseous and dizzy on the plane.
His representatives said: “Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
The former undisputed heavyweight champion then took to X formerly Twitter to address the recent events and took aim at his future opponent.
He wrote: “Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.”
UFC legend and king of trash talking Chael Sonnen took to X to make his bold claim.
He wrote: “I guess it was wise of Jake Paul to write me into the contract as Tyson’s backup, wasn’t it? If Jake Paul realises he might be fighting ME in a month, HE may be the one having a heart attack.”
Sonnen is actually set to face old foe Anderson Silva on June 15 in Brazil in a boxing contest having lost to the Brazilian in MMA both times he challenged him.
What is more likely is that Sonnen is using the Tyson health scare to promote his own fight.
