Jake Paul's manager calls out 'haters' as he denies major rule change to Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul’s manager has taken aim at ‘haters’ and rubbished claims surrounding a major rule change for his client’s upcoming fight against Mike Tyson.

Paul will take on heavyweight boxing legend Tyson in Arlington, Texas on July 20.

The bout will be part of the first-ever live boxing card shown by streaming giants Netflix, with the show set to be available for free for existing subscribers to the platform.

There are reports that the bout’s organisers are hoping to have the bout sanctioned by the Texas boxing commission, which would allow it to be a professional fight.

But there was mass interest surrounding a claim made by heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora last week, shortly after the Paul vs Tyson fight was announced.

The 40-year-old claimed that the bout would effectively be a sparring contest, with both fighters wearing headguards and 18oz gloves.

But MMA reporter Ariel Helwani later reported that, according to his sources, there would be no headgear involved.

And Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian of Most Valuable Promotions, also strongly rebuffed Chisora’s claims – and aimed a guarded insult.

Taking to Instagram, Bidarian wrote (via Daily Mirror): “Unequivocally there is no headgear for Paul vs Tyson.

“Haters spreading fake news but it won’t stop the 10’s of millions of views.”

The fight is being billed as potentially being the ‘most-watched boxing event’ in modern boxing, with Bidarian stating in a press release once the bout was confirmed: “Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson is a once-in-a-lifetime dream matchup and I anticipate it will be the most-watched boxing event in modern boxing history.”

Since his retirement from professional boxing in 2005 after a sixth-round defeat to American fighter Kevin McBride, 57-year-old Tyson has only stepped into the ring once, taking on Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout in November 2020.

Paul, meanwhile, has a professional boxing record of 9-1, and knocked out Ryan Bourland in the first round of his most recent fight on March 2.

His only loss came at the hands of Tommy Fury, who defeated ‘The Problem Child’ via split decision in Saudi Arabia in February. Fury has only fought once since, beating KSI by unanimous decision in October.

Jake Paul floors streamer with '10 per cent punch' as warning sent to Mike Tyson

Jake Paul brutally floored Adin Ross with a body shot using just ’10 per cent’ of his power.

Paul joined Ross on his podcast following the shock announcement of his fight against Mike Tyson.

He fired back at KSI criticising his showdown against Tyson.

Paul and Ross also shared the ring, with ‘The Problem Child’ showcasing his power.

The 9-1 boxer, who recently scored a big win over Ryan Bourland, hit the popular streamer with a body shot.

Ross asked for ’10 per cent’ of Paul’s power, but still dropped him to his knees in a crazy moment. Check it out below:

Paul delivered a debilitating left-hand to Ross’ body using a portion of his power.

Ross crumbled to his hands and knees from 10 per cent of Paul’s power.

Paul admitted: “Low key that was 15 [per cent]. I went a litter harder than 10 [per cent].”

The 27-year-old has stopped six opponents in his professional career including a monstrous knockout win over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

He takes on Tyson, who still carries his legendary power as he showed off his hands in a new training video.

On fighting ‘Iron’ Mike, Paul said: “It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard.

“Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons. Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world – a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.”

At the 2024 Chinese GP, both Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff revealed the “aggressive” experiments they had carried out on the Briton’s W15 in terms of set-up. As described by one of Hamilton’s former aides, Marc Priestley, this was a desperate attempt by Mercedes to try their best to at least register one strong result in the 2024 season.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Priestley explained that frustration has crept inside the Mercedes camp, who are just not able to unlock any sort of performance from the W15. Moreover, with Hamilton in his final year with the team, he’s resorted to using the most extreme experiments to figure out ways to improve the pace of the car.

Another hypothesis Priestley had was that Hamilton’s bid to experiment was a way of putting some pressure off his shoulders. The #44 driver is not looking to make excuses for his underperformance so far in comparison to Mercedes teammate George Russell.

However, his continued experimentation could be a reason why Russell has consistently managed to outperform him so far this season. In the aftermath of the Grand Prix that saw Hamilton finish in ninth, Wolff admitted that the setup experiment was indeed a failure. Hamilton himself went as far as calling the car undriveable and extremely slow.

Cracks begin to show at Mercedes after yet another disappointing race weekend

The Chinese GP turned out to be yet another massive disappointment for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. After the race, Toto Wolff slammed the decision to experiment with Hamilton’s car.

GPBlog quoted the Austrian as saying, “I hear him [Hamilton] saying the car doesn’t turn around the track. This is what we are seeing on the data. It just wasn’t the right thing to do.”

Speaking to ServusTV, Wolff also made comments about Hamilton’s mood change recently. Formula Passion quoted the 52-year-old as saying, “ Lewis is in a surprisingly good mood. I don’t know if it’s the knowledge that he will go somewhere else next year. But it’s not like him at all.”

These little hints that have surfaced after the 2024 Chinese GP seemingly suggest a fallout in the Mercedes camp, especially between Hamilton and Wolff.

Kim Kardashian is surprised by Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Guillermo as he models her SKIMS shapewear – after star stayed mum on Taylor Swift diss

Kim Kardashian got a fun surprise while appearing on Monday’s episode of the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.

In order to celebrate the SKIMS founder’s, 43, latest appearance, Jimmy’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez, 53, popped out wearing a black bodysuit from Kim’s brand.

He hilariously pulled a number of moves in the tight shapewear as Kim looked on amused.

While on the show Kim — who stayed mum on Taylor Swift‘s recent ‘diss track’ against her — revealed that SKIMS is working on a shapewear line for men, though currently they only sell men’s underwear and loungewear.

That didn’t stop Guillermo from rocking one of her pieces, while Kim herself sizzled in a clingy black leather dress.

The show’s Instagram account posted two snaps of Kim with Guillermo, with the caption ‘SHAPEWEAR MODELS.’

When Jimmy asked Guillermo how it felt to be wearing the bodysuit, he replied: ‘It feels good. Very tight, very tight. Everything is very tight.’

‘That’s the point of it, right? Is to be tight,’ Jimmy asked.

    ‘Snatched,’ Kim answered.

She then questioned if Guillermo could be her potential future customer: ‘Would you wear men’s shape wear? This is not men’s shape wear, but I mean, it could be. You look amazing in it.’

‘Sure. I will wear it if it make me look good, I’ll wear anything,’ he replied.

Well known to fans of the late night U.S. TV show, Guillermo was working as a security guard in the studio parking lot when he first appeared on screen.

After being roped into appearing in multiple segments of the show, the Mexican entertainer quickly became promoted to a permanent cast member.

Kim came on the show to promote season 12 of her FX series American Horror Story, where she shared a steamy kiss with Emma Roberts.

Kim Kardashian dazzles at 10th Annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony

During her segment the mom-of-four told Kimmel that ‘life is good’ despite the fact that she lost more than 100K followers after Taylor’s album, The Tortured Poets Department, reignited their years-long feud.

Kimmel, 56, mentioned Swift’s new album — and her feud with Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West, 46 — during his opening monologue, but he didn’t bring the topic up while chatting with Kim.

The two songs — thanK you aIMee and Cassandra — were part of the surprise ‘double album’ version of Taylor’s new record The Tortured Poets Department, marking the latest broadside in the pop star’s explosive long-running feud with Kim and her ex-husband Kanye.

One of the tracks, which is directed at a vicious bully, is called ‘thanK you aIMee’ – with the letters K, I and M tellingly capitalized.

After Kim’s Instagram comment section was trolled, her 363million following took a substantial hit – dropping by 120,000.

‘When I picture my hometown, there’s a bronze spray-tanned statue of you and a plaque underneath it that threatens to push me down the stairs at our school,’ Taylor sings at the beginning of the acid-tongued song, with fans convinced that the person she is actually singing about is Kim.

‘All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’ / And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel / Screamed ‘F**k you, Aimee’ to the night sky, as the blood was gushin’ / But I can’t forget the way you made me heal.’

Taylor concludes by confirming she’s changed the name of the woman she’s singing about – further fueling speculation the track is about Kim.

Tensions rise in ‘American Horror Story: Delicate Part 2’ promo

She also seems to reference Kim’s 10-year-old daughter North West dancing to her 2014 single Shake It Off on TikTok, finding it ironic as the ‘song is about you’.

While the references in Cassandra are largely more subtle, that hasn’t stopped fans from calling out the way in which Taylor appears to be going after Kim.

Many believe that the title character, Cassandra, is Taylor, while references to ‘the call’ are meant to allude to a phone call between the singer and Kanye, which Kim secretly recorded and posted online.

Additionally, the references to ‘snakes’ in the song are being compared to the use of snake emojis throughout the feud between the trio.

Following the release of the album, ‘Swifties’ flooded onto Kim’s Instagram page to fill her comments with the phrase: ‘Thank you Aimee,’ signaling their loyalty to Taylor.

Taylor and Kim’s longtime row actually began thanks to the singer’s dispute with Kanye in 2009, when he famously stormed the stage at the VMAs when she won the prize for Best Female Video.

A furious Kanye took to the stage to declare that Beyonce should have won the prize, telling Taylor: ‘Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.’

The feud reached a peak in 2016 when West released ‘Famous’ which made jabs at Swift, and Kardashian claimed Swift was aware of his plans to release the track as she put out an edited phone call between West and Swift discussing the song.

Later, a leaked video appeared to have proven Swift told the truth about her phone call with West.

Travis Kelce kisses Taylor Swift during ‘Fortnight Challenge’

The clip that surfaced on social media appears to show Kanye didn’t consult Taylor about the ‘b****’ lyric, and only asked her about the other line in the song, which was previously mentioned by Kim.

After hitting back, Taylor took a year-long break from the limelight, and only returned when she released her new single Look What You Made Me Do, in 2017.

In the song, and it’s accompanying video, the star took aim at the trolls who had furiously branded her a ‘snake’ after Kim’s phonecall leak.

After being named as TIME’s Person Of The Year, Taylor slammed Kim for ‘taking her down psychologically’ and forcing her into hiding during their long-running feud – while subtly branding the reality star and her ex-husband Kanye as ‘trash’.

  • Tyson Fury Says Mike Tyson Would’ve Knocked Out Wilder Or Joshua With One Punch

Tyson Fury Says Mike Tyson Would’ve Knocked Out Wilder Or Joshua With One Punch

Tyson Fury has said it’s “ridiculous” to compare Mike Tyson to Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua, claiming that a prime Iron Mike would finish either man with his first serious punch.

Talking in the latest Ring magazine, Fury makes his feelings absolutely clear, stating: “He would have walked straight to Wilder, hit him once and absolutely poleaxed him, and Joshua even quicker.

“Why? Because those fellas have no defence, and he’d just walk straight to guys like that. Mike Tyson, with his angles, would have sorted them.”

Tell us how you really feel, big man. The 31-year-old heavyweight was actually discussing how a dream fight between Mike Tyson and himself might play out, but naturally couldn’t resist a shot at his rivals.

“What made Mike Tyson special is that he dedicated his life to the sport,” says Fury. “In the early days, nothing else mattered except smashing people’s faces in.

“He had that aura about him where he was going in the ring, and people were falling over before they’d been hit.”

Fury explains that this brooding menace would have had no impact on him, a theory backed up by the fact that he’s twice got in the ring with Wilder, a feared puncher in his own right.

However Fury believes that both AJ and the Bronze Bomber would have been mentally dismantled by a young Iron Mike.

“All of the intimidation factors that would have worked with Joshua and Wilder wouldn’t work with me,” he says. “On the night, no matter who they are, when they’re in that ring, they’re just men with gloves on – just like me.”

In 2018, Wilder claimed that he would have “kicked the hell” out a 1986-era Mike Tyson, but that view has been disputed by Lennox Lewis among others.

But Tyson was civil in his own response to Wilder’s claim, saying earlier this year: “I love the fact that he thinks that, because that’s the way I would think as well.”

The former undisputed heavyweight champion is, however, more of a Tyson Fury man. Their respect is obvious throughout The Ring’s dual interview with the pair – with Fury expanding on why they share a bond.

“We’re similar in that we’ve endured tough times; we’ve both been down and picked ourselves up again,” says the Brit. “We both know what it’s like to have everything, and we both know what it’s like to have nothing.”

Fury seems in a good place mentally in 2020 and, while we’ll obviously never see Mike Tyson vs Joshua or Wilder in an actual ring, let’s hope there’s some chance of Fury vs Willder III or – even better – Fury vs Joshua in the next 18 months.

  • WBC champion Deontay Wilder believes he can knock out 1986 Mike Tyson

WBC champion Deontay Wilder believes he can knock out 1986 Mike Tyson

KO artist Deontay Wilder had no hesitation in suggesting that he could have knocked out 1986 Mike Tyson.

The WBC champ, 34, has become one of the most feared punchers in the heavyweight division and his punching power has led to interesting comparisons with a prime ‘Iron Mike.’

When TMZ specifically asked Wilder in 2018 if he would stand a chance against Tyson, he unequivocally responded: “Yes.”

But the ‘Bronze Bomber’ went on to proclaim that he fears no heavyweight, past or present, by adding that whether they’re “old school [or] new school, I knock them all out.”

Boxing fans have previously debated the idea of an epic clash between Wilder and Tyson and who would emerge victoriously.

But Wilder’s comments at the time also provoked a response from boxing legend Lennox Lewis, who KO’d Tyson in a blockbuster bout in 2002.

The 54-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champ wasn’t entirely convinced that Wilder would have what it takes to beat a younger Tyson.

“I just heard Deontay Wilder said he would destroy a young Mike Tyson,” he said.

“My thoughts are that it’s easy to talk until you actually get in the ring.

“I like Wilder, but he’s never been in there with someone that ferocious [and] who truly wants to break his ribs with every punch. I don’t see it!

“I love Wilder’s confidence [and] you need that to sit atop the heavyweight division.

“He’s hungry and shows up in probably best shape in the division, but there are levels to it and he’s still adding to his arsenal.

“My best advice to the entire crop of young heavyweight champs is to focus on being the best of YOUR era!

“Out of respect and reality. It’s unprovable.

“Of course, people asked but I found no need to speculate or compare myself to my idol Muhammad Ali or any other of the past greats.

“History will decide your place among the all-time greats, so go out there clean up the division and defend your title.

“Reign supreme and your work will speak for itself.”

When TMZ asked Tyson if he could see Wilder beating him in his prime, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ responded: “I don’t think so.”

  • The dark side behind Mike Tyson’s life: Sleeping with 15 women/day, “burning” 65 million USD on partying.

The dark side behind Mike Tyson’s life: Sleeping with 15 women/day, “burning” 65 million USD on partying.

The stories of the dark side behind the eventful life of boxing legend Mike Tyson have been revealed in his autobiography “Undisputed Truth.” One aspect that astonished many is Mike Tyson’s sex addiction.

At the age of 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days, Mike Tyson became the undisputed heavyweight champion of boxing, the youngest fighter to hold the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles simultaneously. Tyson won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, including 12 knockouts in the first round. These accomplishments turned Mike Tyson into a legend in the boxing world.

The stories under the boxing spotlight of “Iron Mike” are well-known to boxing enthusiasts. However, behind the ring, Tyson’s life holds many shocking and unbelievable truths. In his autobiography, “Undisputed Truth,” the most shocking revelations have been unveiled. Few would have suspected that the boxing legend was addicted to sex with an unbelievably high frequency.

Mike Tyson revealed that he used to sleep with 15 women every day.

Coming into boxing at a young age and achieving rapid success, Mike Tyson quickly gained fame and fortune due to his talent. The consecutive victories brought glory to Mike Tyson’s life. At the age of 20, Mike Tyson had an abundance of wealth and fame. However, it was precisely money that became the biggest enemy of his life. He admitted, “My specialty is self-destruction.” Tyson has burned through a staggering $65 million on extravagant parties and indulgence. It was these wild parties that destroyed Mike’s life.

Talented but flawed, the portrait of Mike Tyson’s life is a mixture of light and darkness. The dark side of his life, especially his sexual life, is terrifying. A former bodyguard named Rudy Gonzalez revealed in his autobiography that before Tyson was imprisoned in 1992 for rape, he would sleep with 15 women every day. Mike even needed security guards to prevent him from engaging in sexual activities before each fight.

Despite being imprisoned for rape, it did not stop Tyson from being involved with women. At that time, women were still lining up to be intimate with the American boxer while he was in jail.

Mike Tyson had sexual encounters with supermodel Naomi Campbell in a public restroom while ordering security guards to stand guard. He also had relations with a woman in her 50s in a supermarket. There was even an instance where after using cocaine, Mike called seven girls to a hotel to serve him.

In his autobiography, Tyson also revealed that he had slept with 1,300 women in his 54 years of life. Each time, he would record the names of the women as a memento.

Mike Tyson always appeared addicted to sexual encounters, and nothing seemed to satisfy this former boxer. Before becoming famous, “Iron Mike” was close to local girls, and as a renowned boxing athlete, he got acquainted with famous actors, singers, and models. The former boxer gained notoriety in the realm of relationships and was referred to by beauties as the “worst man on the planet.”

  • Freddie Roach claims Manny Pacquiao hits harder than Mike Tyson

Freddie Roach claims Manny Pacquiao hits harder than Mike Tyson

Legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach has argued that Manny Pacquiao hits much harder than feared power puncher Mike Tyson.

Roach, 59, has played an instrumental role in the 41-year-old Filipino boxing superstar’s path to success.

And Pacquiao’s long-time trainer explained that his fighter has three all-important attributes for a power puncher: “power, speed and explosion.”

When he was asked if Pacquiao was a harder puncher than boxing legend Tyson, Roach told FightHype: “My whole body went like numb. The power, the speed and explosion is much greater than just dense power.

“Manny is one of the few people who has both.”

Pacquiao, who is widely revered as one of the best boxers of all time, has won 39 of his 71 professional fights by way of knockout.

‘Iron’ Mike, in contrast, holds an incredible 44-knockout victory record from his 58-fight career.

The ‘Sports Science’ team conducted a 2015 study on Pacquiao to understand the power that the Filipino sensation wields.

The ‘Pacman’ landed power punches on a bag and capture technology analysed how hard he was hitting it.

According to the study, Pacquiao’s punches landed in just 0.12 seconds and that was faster than a blink of a human eye.

    .

Shane Mosley fought Pacquiao in 2011 and suggested that the Filipino possessed solid “punching power.”

He told FightHype in 2011: “Pacquiao has some pretty good punching power.

“He has some different hitting power. He’s not physically strong, but he hits pretty good, like he has a good snap or something.

    “He’s not heavy-handed… It’s the weirdest thing.”

The 48-year-old American went on to explain that Pacquiao is such a dangerous boxer due to his shots being explosive and rocking his opponents.

“You feel the impact of his punches and when you feel it in your glove, the impact is not hard,” he said.

“You’re not like, ‘Oh my God, he’s hitting hard. This is a hard punch.’ Only when he lands on your face is when you feel like you’re getting dizzy.

“Either it’s some kind of Chinese breaking bricks kind of thing, the one-inch punch, or whatever, something like that, or it’s something else.

“It’s something different. It’s like the weirdest thing.”

Larry Holmes Claims Mike Tyson ‘Would Have Been Knocked Out’ By Muhammad Ali

Larry Holmes believes that Mike Tyson ‘would have been knocked out’ by the legendary Muhammad Ali if they ever fought.

Holmes fought both men in his career, defeating Ali in 1980 and losing to Tyson in 1988.

But ‘The Easton Assassin’ thinks that Ali would have had the edge if he’d faced off with ‘Iron Mike’.

He told TMZ Sport in an exclusive report per Daily Star:

“Mike Tyson would get beat up ’cause he’s a face fighter. He comes in down low, and Muhammad Ali is a jabber.

“He’d get that jab in there just like he did with Joe Frazier.”

Mike Tyson 'would have been knocked out' by Muhammad Ali, says Larry Holmes - Daily Star

Holmes believes Tyson would have trouble avoiding that jab, despite the technique he had.

“So, Mike Tyson would have to get around that jab, and he’d have a lot of problems getting around that jab.

“Mike Tyson would’ve been knocked out by Muhammad Ali.”

His criticism of ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ didn’t end there.

The 70-year-old went on to reference his bout with Tyson and said he was ‘over the hill’ when they faced off in New Jersey.

Mike Tyson 'Would Have Been Knocked Out' By Muhammad Ali Claims Larry Holmes

“My toughest opponent was Kenny Norton. I fought Mike Tyson, I was kinda over the hill a little bit.

“I had retired then I came back and fight Mike Tyson. I really wasn’t in that good of shape.”

Tyson defeated Holmes in the fourth round of their fight via TKO.

His speed and tenacity was apparent and the older Holmes couldn’t match it.

But Tyson has always had major respect for Ali and he once lambasted Floyd Mayweather for comparing himself to Ali.

    The 53-year-old vented:

“He’s very delusional, listen, if he was anywhere near that realm of great as Muhammad Ali, he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself.

“OK, he can’t take his kids to school by himself, and he’s talking about he’s great?

“Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people. ‘It’s being accepted by the people.

“He can’t take his kids alone to school by himself. He’s a little scared man. He’s a very small, scared man.”

Ali facing off with Tyson would have been the biggest fight in boxing history.
