UFC legends Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal agree to stunning rematch

UFC legends Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal have agreed to a stunning rematch following their clash inside the famed Octagon.

Diaz and Masvidal will run it back but in a boxing ring – over a 10-round fight, according to Ariel Helwani.

The rematch, which will take place at light-heavyweight (175lbs), is set for June 1 in Inglewood, California.

The event will be presented by Fanmio in association with Diaz’s Real Fight Inc. and Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing Promotions.

BREAKING: Nathan Diaz x Jorge Masvidal 2 is a done deal. They’ll meet on June 1 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA, in a 10-round 175-pound light heavyweight boxing match, per both camps. The event will be presented by Fanmio PPV, who also promoted Mayweather x Paul in 2021.…

Diaz and Masvidal fought at UFC 244 in New York City for the BMF championship.

Masvidal won the main-event showdown by stoppage after Diaz retired on his stool after round three.

Diaz and Masvidal will renew their rivalry in the shape of a clash under boxing rules this summer.

It will be Diaz’s second foray in the world of boxing following his fight against Jake Paul last August.

He lost a unanimous decision to ‘The Problem Child’.

On facing the Stockton slugger again, Masvidal said: “Nate’s a dead man walking.

“I can’t wait to prove that last time was no fluke. He got saved by the referee. Now we are boxing, which he says is his forte, but he’s got no shot at beating me.

“I’m not going to give him an inch in that ring to even breathe. If he thought our MMA match was bad, this is going to be much worse.

“I’m going to drown him. I want to put away any talk that him and I are the same, or that the referee saved the day. All of that talk ends June 1. Violence and throwing hands are in both of our bloods but as I proved before, I’m a far superior athlete and I’m a meaner fighter.

“When June 1 comes I’ll put all unanswered questions to rest, live for the world to see.”

Mike Tyson starts day one of training for Jake Paul and fans think the fight is already done

Mike Tyson has officially started his training camp for Jake Paul and fans think the fight is already DONE.

Tyson hasn’t fought since his exhibition bout against fellow boxing icon Roy Jones Jr back in November 2020.

But he’s set to return to action on July 20 when he faces Paul, who recently scored a big win over Ryan Bourland.

Tyson vs. Paul headlines a huge event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which will be aired on Netflix.

UFC boss Dana White didn’t hold back when discussing the showdown.

Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian, has hit out at haters slamming the contest as he denied a major rule change.

The boxing match is four months away and ‘Iron’ Mike looks to be in supreme condition.

He took to social media to reveal that his training camp has officially started. Check it out below:

The 57-year-old shared a clip of himself hitting the pads and he put on a show with his coach Rafael Cordeiro.

The former world heavyweight champion showed off his hand speed and power as he destroyed the pads.

In the video, Tyson says: “It’s day 1… the fun has just begun.”

Boxing fans on social media think Paul has made a big mistake in fighting Tyson.

One X user wrote: “Jake Paul calling his agent to cancel the fight.”

A second tweeted: “Better have an ambulance standing by for Jake Paul.”

A third added: “You know if he loses it’s rigged.”

A fourth said: “Uncle Mike is the most dangerous 57 year old on the planet.”

Another commented: “Yeah….I still think he’s gonna knock Paul’s head off.. even at 57.”

Tyson still carries his legendary power, having stopped an impressive 44 opponents in his professional career.

He’ll look to claim the biggest scalp of his boxing career since retiring when he takes on Paul this summer.

Jake Paul floors streamer with '10 per cent punch' as warning sent to Mike Tyson

Jake Paul brutally floored Adin Ross with a body shot using just ’10 per cent’ of his power.

Paul joined Ross on his podcast following the shock announcement of his fight against Mike Tyson.

He fired back at KSI criticising his showdown against Tyson.

Paul and Ross also shared the ring, with ‘The Problem Child’ showcasing his power.

The 9-1 boxer, who recently scored a big win over Ryan Bourland, hit the popular streamer with a body shot.

Ross asked for ’10 per cent’ of Paul’s power, but still dropped him to his knees in a crazy moment. Check it out below:

Paul delivered a debilitating left-hand to Ross’ body using a portion of his power.

Ross crumbled to his hands and knees from 10 per cent of Paul’s power.

Paul admitted: “Low key that was 15 [per cent]. I went a litter harder than 10 [per cent].”

The 27-year-old has stopped six opponents in his professional career including a monstrous knockout win over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

He takes on Tyson, who still carries his legendary power as he showed off his hands in a new training video.

On fighting ‘Iron’ Mike, Paul said: “It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard.

“Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons. Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world – a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.”

Fans worried about Tyson Fury as new footage released ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

Boxing fans are worried for Tyson Fury after training footage emerged online ahead of his blockbuster fight against Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury meets Usyk in a big undisputed showdown on May 18 following the postponement of their February clash.

The WBC, WBA (super), WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles will be on the line when the two heavyweight stars collide in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury is back in training camp after a nasty cut forced him to withdraw last month.

Footage of the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ in preparation for his fight against Usyk has surfaced online.

And fight fans are concerned for the unbeaten British star, who went through his paces in a strength and conditioning session. Check it out below:

The clip shows him on sled pushes and performing squats, leaving people on social media unimpressed.

One X user wrote: “Oh crap he looks awful. Please let him beat Usyk.”

A second tweeted: “That is genuinely some of the least impressive jumping up and down I’ve ever seen.”

A third added: “He looks like it’s first ever time in a gym every time.”

Another commented: “He jumps up and down like a toddler.”

Fury hasn’t fought since his underwhelming victory over former UFC champion Francis Ngannou last October.

He beat Dereck Chisora in the last defence of his WBC title as he looks collect the other three belts in the division.

If he beats Usyk, then an all-British showdown against Anthony Joshua could be next.

Joshua brutally stopped Ngannou earlier this month, but his victory didn’t impress Fury.

“I’m still dismissive of him,” he said. “AJ’s made to measure for me. Just because he knocked out Francis Ngannou – it’s not the same. He couldn’t land any of those rights on Usyk, a way smaller and lighter man. Styles make fights and his style is made for me.”

Boxing fans slam Jake Paul after he shares 'crazy' Mike Tyson tweet from four years ago

Jake Paul has been slammed by fans after re-sharing an old post involving Mike Tyson from four years ago.

Paul is facing the heavyweight boxing legend in a superfight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 20, live on Netflix.

And for the Problem Child it represents a full circle moment as he made his professional boxing debut on Tyson’s undercard for his return against Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

Paul produced a devastating knockout of Nate Robinson and ended up becoming the biggest thing in boxing.

The 27-year-old has recorded victories over Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz, with his only defeat coming against Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia.

And ahead of his biggest fight to date being announced, Paul has shared a post where Tyson hyped up his debt to reflect on his journey.

Taking to X, he wrote: “This tweet was 4 years ago. Crazy how things change… Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.”

But fans are not quite having Paul’s post, pointing out that he is fighting a man who will be 30 years older than him when they step into the ring.

One wrote: “Don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t box a 58 year old retired man? Wow. Shoot for the stars Jake.”

A second said: “Jake fighting a 68 year old because people said he couldn’t. #DreamBig.”

A third added: “Bro go find some shame, how can you agree to fight a legend of this sport when he is now old?”

A fourth fumed: “You’re really good at beating up old washed up fighters. Super pathetic if you ask me.”

A fifth commented: “This fight should not be happening.”

Tyson has put out a video showing his first day of training for the fight and still clearly possesses that knockout power that led to him becoming the youngest heavyweight champion of all time.

Ariel Helwani claims officials are pushing to make the fight a professional one and it will be contested at heavyweight.

Contrary to claims made by Derek Chisora, there will be no headguards – as revealed by Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian.

WBC boss makes feelings clear on Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight after world ranking promise

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has shared his thoughts on Mike Tyson coming out of retirement to fight Jake Paul.

Tyson vs. Paul is set for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which will be aired on Netflix.

UFC CEO Dana White pulled no punches as he hit out at the booking while Conor McGregor slammed the fight.

Paul’s manager, however, Nakisa Bidarian, defended Tyson vs. Paul as he denied a major rule change.

Tyson has officially started his training camp ahead of his summer showdown against Paul and fans think the fight is already done.

It will be the 57-year-old’s first appearance in a ring since his exhibition bout against fellow boxing icon Roy Jones Jr.

The WBC supported Tyson vs. Jones Jr, with the sanctioning body’s president backing ‘Iron’ Mike’s fight against ‘The Problem Child’.

He said: “I’m sure Mike is going about this responsibly. He’s in very good shape. Mike Tyson is one of the greatest, iconic and legendary champions.

“Jake Paul has come into boxing and we must thank him and embrace him, for bringing millions of young eyeballs to our sport.”

Sulaiman added: “It’s a fight and a real event. No one can certainly say Jake Paul will win, because he’s young. No one can say Mike Tyson will win because he’s a legend, so it’s interesting.

“I only pray it will be done with all the medicals and everything is done with huge care and it’s going to be a great event. They will prepare fully for this.”

Paul could earn a WBC ranking if he beats Tyson.

He was promised a spot in the WBC rankings if he had beaten Tommy Fury.

However, the 27-year-old was defeated by Fury, who outpointed him in their Saudi Arabia clash last year.

Paul has since reeled off three wins in a row, beating Nate Diaz, Andre August and Ryan Bourland.

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul’s sparring footage has been compared online and fans are all in agreement.

Tyson is returning to the ring against the 9-1 boxer at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on July 20.

The bout will be shown live on Netflix free for subscribers and according to Ariel Helwani, those involved are pushing to make it a professional contest at heavyweight.

There will be an age gap of more than 30 years when the two square off in the ring.

But when it comes to training footage, fans think the level is very, very different even with Tyson approaching 58.

The Baddest Man on the Planet still possesses that ferocious power and head movement even with his last competitive fight coming back in 2005.

In clips shared online he was absolutely hammering blows into his coach while hitting the pads, before pummelling the bag too.

While Paul’s technique and speed was fine and he has made huge improvements to his game, the consensus is that it is night and day between the two.

One wrote: “How is mike so f***ing fast?”

A second said: “At 16 Paul was lip syncing songs on YT. At 16 Tyson was destroying other boxers. If this were to be a real fight, Paul wouldn’t stand a chance.”

A third commented: “Mike so faster.”

A fourth weighed in: “I would never bet against Mike in this life.”

Another added: “You can just visualize the future, Mike Tyson bends down, followed by a left hook and lights out for the big mouth from social media!”

A final user opined: “If Jake wins the fight was rigged.”

Things have come full circle for Paul, whose first professional fight was a devastating knockout against Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson’s tear-up against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

“This tweet was 4 years ago,” Paul said, resharing a video of Tyson talking about his debut.

“Crazy how things change… Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.”

Francis Ngannou explains reason behind Anthony Joshua KO defeat as previously unknown info comes to light

Francis Ngannou says he didn’t feel right in the moments before his heavyweight bout with Anthony Joshua and was even “falling asleep’ in the locker room.

The former UFC heavyweight champion, who was unlucky not to have his hand raised when he came up against Tyson Fury in October, suffered a devastating knockout defeat to Joshua on Friday.

After flooring Ngannou with his trademark right inside the first round, AJ continued to apply pressure before landing another power punch, knocking his opponent unconscious.

Ringside officials moved quickly to administer oxygen to Ngannou, who has since opened up about his knockout while speaking to fans in an Instagram live stream.

“I was conscious right after [the knockout], and since then everything’s been good,” he said. “I’m still going to run some medical work, just in case.”

Ngannou also opened up on how he was feeling, just hours before suffering the second loss of his professional boxing career.

“I remember being in the locker [room] trying to warm up, and bro, it wasn’t going well,” he recalled. “I was falling asleep. I’m sweating, but I was falling asleep.

“But I’m sure that’s how some people that I have fought and have beaten have been before.”

He added: “No blame on anybody, the blame here is all on me. It is the game unfortunately. We all knew it could happen[the KO].

“I wasn’t seeing it happen like that, but I always knew it could happen. At least, I was always prepared for that.”

The Cameroon-born MMA fighter, who is currently signed to the Professional Fighters League, is keen on making a return to boxing when the time is right.

“Right now, I don”t know exactly what fight I”ll be looking for next,” he said.

“I know that I”m going to take some time to rest up, focus on myself, and then when I”m ready, I will get back to training.

“It’s not over yet – not at all, We’re just getting started. The only thing that we will miss this year is time, and I think we have some good amount of time ahead of us.

“I’m going to take some time for myself, chill, spend time with my family, my friends and then come back ready.”

Lewis Hamilton interrupted a Lando Norris interview to congratulate the McLaren driver

Arguably the most popular winner in recent times, Lewis Hamilton was caught on camera interrupting a Lando Norris interview to congratulate the McLaren driver after his Miami triumph.

110 races into his Formula 1 career, and after 15 podiums and an unwanted record, Lando Norris finally achieved the one he wanted at the Miami Grand Prix when he beat Max Verstappen to the chequered flag.

Lewis Hamilton joined the list of drivers congratulating Lando Norris

Winning a straight fight to the flag after a Safety Car restart, Norris held off at Turn 1 attack from Verstappen before pulling clear of the Red Bull driver to win by seven seconds.

It was, fair to say, one of the most hotly-anticipated victories in Formula 1 with just about everyone on hand to congratulate the Briton.

While Hamilton initially gave him a round of applause as they headed back to the pits on their cooldown lap, the seven-time World Champion later approached his compatriot to wish him well.

Hamilton’s smile was as big as Norris’.

The Mercedes driver told the media he was “really happy” for the 24-year-old.

“Such a special moment to win your first grand prix and obviously I started at McLaren, so really happy to see them back at the top. It’s been a long time.”

Speaking to Sky Sports after the Miami GP, Norris’ father Adam revealed Hamilton’s father Anthony had sent him a message of congratulations.

“The cider’s flowing in Somerset! A big celebration,” Adam Norris told Sky Sports. “It’s beautiful.

“I think the other dads, I just had Lewis’ dad give me a text, and we’ve been through a lot, and it’s interesting knowing as a parent, how many hours you’ve put in, supporting them.

“I counted about 350 weekends away, and all the races on different weekends, it’s a lot of time.

“But just brilliant, I love it, so happy for him.”

Norris’ victory elevated him to P4 in the Drivers’ Championship on 83 with the Briton the first non-Red Bull or Ferrari driver to win a race since 2022.

Lewis Hamilton has yet to reach the podium in 2024

51 races since his last Grand Prix victory, Lewis Hamilton says he’s had “enough” of not winning and wants to help Mercedes to get back to the top step of the podium.

The seven-time World Champion last won a Grand Prix in 2021, victorious at the penultimate race in Saudi Arabia to take the title fight down to the wire.

Lewis Hamilton: ‘It’s been tough of course, we exist to win’

He lost that, overtaken by Max Verstappen on the final lap in Abu Dhabi as the Red Bull driver denied him a record-breaking eighth World title.

Hamilton has not won a race since as Mercedes have struggled to find their feet in the new ground-effect aerodynamic era, leaving them with just one win on the board with George Russell P1 at the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix.

As such Hamilton’s winless streak is up to 51, his longest-ever barren spell in a sport in which he has won 103 Grands Prix and seven World titles.

    He’s had “enough” of it.

“It’s been tough, it’s been a really challenge,” he told CBS News. “It could’ve been worse.

“It’s been a really transitional period where there has been a lot of team bonding, really low moments within the group which then ultimately bring you together.

“There’s been a lot of vulnerability within the team with all of us and it’s really been a growing experience.

“It’s been tough of course, we exist to win.

“When you’re not winning, your perspective has to shift, and it’s just then been about chasing and it’s about improvement.

“It’s about coming together. How can we make improvements? How can we get back to where we want to be? And rallying everyone up, I actually really enjoyed that experience.

“But three years in now, we’re like, ‘okay, I’ve had enough of this, let’s get back to where we belong’.”

Lewis Hamilton explains ‘most painful part’ of 2024 struggles

This season marks Hamilton’s final opportunity to help Mercedes do just that before the 39-year-old leaves the team to join Ferrari.

But his swansong is not going according to plan.

Despite putting an all-new W15 on the track, the team has yet to reach the podium and sits a distant P4 in the Constructors’ Championship.

Hamilton, whose best result in a Grand Prix so far was his sixth-placed finish in Miami, is ninth in the Drivers’ standings on 27 points.

“I do and that’s probably the most painful part,” he replied when asked if he had wanted his final season with Mercedes to be his ‘best season’.

“Everyone at the team, they want it to be a great year. Everyone has worked so hard back.

“For me, this whole journey has been massively emotional. Just because I have so much love for this team.

“I’m not leaving because I’m unhappy there. I’m not leaving because of relationship issues.

“Mercedes have supported me since I was 13. They’ve been with me through thick and thin.

“So, it’s definitely a strange transition at the moment.”
