The gangster uncle of Kanye West‘s wife Bianca Censori faced being thrown back into jail for life after he was caught living with a suspected paedophile, a court has heard.

Eris Censori, who was once sentenced to death in Western Australia for murdering a waiter, was dubbed the ‘Al Capone of Melbourne‘ before his life of crime crumbled.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Censori was arrested by Victoria Police detectives in September 2020 on suspicion of fraud.

But the discovery of a mobile phone belonging to his housemate – which allegedly contained child pornography – threatened to put him back behind bars for good.

Although cleared of any wrongdoing, the bust saw Censori hauled before the Adult Parole Board and faced being returned to jail to see out his life sentence.

In a statement of claim filed against the State of Victoria with the Supreme Court of Victoria, Censori alleged the search that put him in front of the parole board was obtained ‘through misfeasance and in the absence of facts’.

Censori – who has changed his name to Tony Campana – claimed his arrest ‘defamed’ his good character and ’caused him to suffer public ridicule, shame and scorn’.

He escaped his death penalty for murdering waiter Michael Sideris in the 1980s because capital punishment was later abolished in Western Australia in 1984.

He is the brother of Bianca’s father Elia ‘Leo’ Censori, who also did hard jail time after being convicted in 1982 on a charge of possessing a prohibited import after an Australian Federal Police raid found heroin in his kitchen.

Daily Mail Australia last year revealed Leo also has convictions for possession of a pistol and ammunition and served two years of his five-year sentence over the drug charges.

Their eldest brother, Edmondo, known as ‘Eddie Capone’, also has convictions in Victoria for violence, including assaulting police, theft and threats.

Censori’s lawyer Victor Andreou, who once defended former gangland boss Tony Mokbel’s mate Zlate ‘Steve’ Cvetanovski, appeared in court this week on behalf of Censori.

The court heard Censori hoped to gain access to documents that will help him prove his case against the government, which he holds responsible for his arrest by Victoria Police detectives.

In court documents provided to the court, Bianca’s uncle claimed police used his sale of a Brunswick property to obtain the search warrant under the guise of investigating an alleged fraud against the Bank of Queensland.

At the time of his arrest, Censori had been rooming in Bulleen, north-east of Melbourne, with two other men.

‘(Censori) was in his bedroom which had a window view of the front courtyard, when he noticed the gate open and an accompaniment of six large men entered all armed with handguns,’ documents stated.

‘(He) immediately suspected the accompaniment were members of Victoria Police. The thought filled him with apprehension.’

Police had alleged the Brunswick property he sold had been purchased off him with fraudulently obtained funds.

‘I think you’ve made a mistake. I am the vendor. I didn’t raise any money with any bank,’ Censori told the detectives.

Escorted to his bedroom, Censori claimed cops asked him to hand over documents related to the sale before being asked for access to his phone and computer.

‘Towards the completion of the search, (Censori) was shown a mobile phone retrieved from the bedroom of another occupant and asked questions about the occupier of the said bedroom and contents of the mobile phone,’ documents stated.

Censori claimed the lead detective told him he was aware of his criminal conviction for murder, that he had served a lengthy prison sentence, and that he was still reporting to the parole board 25 years after his release.

‘Any criminal charges, even the allegation of being involved in crime, could result in a breach of parole, resulting in me being returned to prison and ultimately deported,’ he told the detective.

At the conclusion of the search, Censori claimed he was handcuffed and paraded in front of his neighbours before being taken to the police station to be interviewed.

After being fingerprinted and grilled by police, Censori was cut loose without charge.

Upon arriving home, his house mate ‘Mohamed’ revealed he was arrested for having images of child pornography on his phone and wanted to know what would become of him.

‘Mohamed tried to offer an explanation for why he had the image on his phone and (Censori) replied in terms: “Don’t tell me. I don’t want to know”,’ documents stated.

Censori claimed the parole board caught up with him in January 2021 where he was grilled about his relationship with the suspected paedophile.

‘Approximately one week after this interview, the Parole Officer contacted the Plaintiff by phone to inform he was referred to the Full Board of the Adult Parole Board and his attendance before them was required,’ Censori told the court.

‘The Full Board determined not to return the plaintiff to prison for breach of parole but warned any further incident would result in his parole cancellation and him being returned to prison.’

Censori claimed he told the board he had no relationship with his housemate and knew nothing of the contents of Mohamed’s phone.

‘The Parole Officer expressed disbelief and said words to the effect “you’re being deliberately evasive”,’ Censori said.

In bringing the matter to court, Censori claimed the lead detective ‘displayed contumelious [scornful] disregard for [his] right to privacy and freedom, inflicting harm with malice’.

In a long list of claims, Censori alleged police searched bedrooms and took possession of items not within the purview authorised by its warrant and ‘deliberately encouraged a perception in the eyes of the Parole Board (he) was implicated in another’s crime’.

He further accused police of assault, false arrest and imprisonment and setting a malicious prosecution in motion.

In a statement responding to the claim, Victoria Police defended the way it went about arresting Censori.

‘(Censori) was under arrest for conspiracy to defraud the Bank of Queensland and (he) was formally cautioned following which (he) stated he understood,’ the defence stated.

Police denied assaulting Censori, arresting him illegally or undertaking a malicious prosecution.

It further dismissed suggestions Censori’s arrest had ‘defamed’ his good character.

‘It denies that it defamed the Plaintiff, and says further that the Statement of Claim does not disclose a cause of action for defamation,’ lawyers for the government stated.

‘It denies that any matter published or caused to be published by the Defendant has caused or is likely to cause serious harm to the reputation of the Plaintiff.’

The matter will return to court in June.

Brazil’s southern state of Rio Grande do Sul is reeling under devastating floods. The South American nation saw unusually heavy rainfall last week which resulted in the flooding of the southern state. As help starts pouring in from every corner of the planet, Max Verstappen has made a generous contribution as well.

As per GE.GLOBO, Verstappen gave away a signed Red Bull Racing T-shirt for an auction to Bazaar for Good. The proceeds from the auction will go for flood relief in Rio Grande do Sul.

Bazaar for Good is a collective of 30 women with a strong social media presence from different countries. The collective raises funds to support underprivileged children in different countries. Verstappen’s partner Kelly Piquet is one of the 30 members of the host committee.

Kelly, daughter of three-time F1 world champion Nelson Piquet, hails from Brazil herself. An advocate for children’s rights, she has often raised her voice against the Israel-Palestine conflict, citing atrocities faced by the young. Piquet once again made an appeal recently, this time calling for help for the flood victims in Brazil.

Through an Instagram post in Portuguese, she wrote, “At this moment, all help is important! Many families are homeless and in need of rescue due to heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul. There are a lot of people making a difference and you can too.”

More F1 personalities besides Max Verstappen join the rescue effort

Another F1 personality to join the rescue efforts for floods in Brazil is model Francisca ‘Kika’ Cerqueira Gomes. Kika, who is dating Alpine F1 team’s driver Pierre Gasly, shared a video released by renowned supermodel and Tom Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bundchen. Gisele made an appeal for donations towards the relief operations carried out in the affected area.

Bundchen said, “My home state in Rio Grande do Sul, south in Brazil, has had its worst tragedy in its history. Heavy rains flooded entire towns in most parts of the state. It’s not just one city, it’s more than 350 cities affected. People are not only losing their houses, their jobs, they’re losing everything and there are many still to be rescued.”

The Brazilian model shared devastating visuals from ground zero while making an emotional appeal. She also shared snippets of rescue operations but urged her followers to contribute more to help the locals affected.

Brazil is one of the most iconic places where Formula 1 races year after year. The country also has a special connection to the sport through Lewis Hamilton, who got honorary citizenship just two years ago.

While the seven-time world champion is expected to make an appeal soon, many other F1 drivers can join him too. A similar effort was seen in 2023 when Italy went through devastating floods resulting in F1 calling off the Imola race.

Hamilton wore an all-black outfit with a golden neckpiece with a depiction of thorns. Following the theme, “The Garden of Time,” the 39-year-old paid tribute to John Ystumllyn. In the 18th century, Ystumllyn was abducted from West Africa as an eight-year-old and brought to Wales to work in the gardens.

Speaking on the Met Gala red carpet, Lewis Hamilton said, “I did a lot of research and I came across this 18th Century gardener who, through slavery times, came across from Africa to Wales and became the first black gardener in Wales. Through adversity, he really triumphed, so that’s where the inspiration really came from.”

Shakira made an equally starry appearance wearing an all-red ‘sculptural rose cape’ designed by Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon. The Colombian singer furthered the theme with “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”, which Gordon admits was “really about making Shakira feel like the best version of Shakira”.

Burberry bagged the second spot among the top brands with $335,000 worth of EMV, behind Indian designer Sabyasachi ($471,000). Actress Alia Bhatt, who wore the top designer’s outfit, also bagged the top spot on the attendees’ list ($4.2 million). For the uninitiated, EMV is a metric that measures influencers’ organic value earned through unpaid social media interactions.

The history between Lewis Hamilton and Shakira

Rumors suggesting a romantic connection between Lewis Hamilton and Shakira began doing the rounds of the internet shortly after the 2023 Miami GP. The pair spent time together on a boat with a few close friends. Later, they headed to a restaurant for a dinner date.

Ever since her appearance in the Miami GP paddock, Shakira became a regular in the realm of F1. At one point, some mutual friends of the two suggested they shared a relationship that transcended just friendship.

The dating rumors, however, died as quickly as they picked up. Reports quoting Shakira’s entourage suggested mistreatment by Hamilton.

The seven-time world champion allegedly barred the pop star from entering Mercedes’ motorhome during the Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone. Soon after the incident, Hamilton’s links with model Juliana Nalu re-emerged. Her name for the first time popped up during the Briton’s Antarctica vacation with Nina Dobrev and partner Shaun White.

Speculations resurfaced when Hamilton visited Brazil for a vacation and Nalu posted pictures from the hotel he was staying at. Despite fans putting two and two together, neither Nalu nor Hamilton have confirmed or denied the dating rumors.

EA Sports will release the 2024 version of its F1 virtual racing game on May 28. However, the hype for the release has already caught up with Max Verstappen diving into the promotional campaign. The Dutchman posted an Instagram story, expressing his thoughts on being on the cover of the latest edition. Despite being the reigning champion, he was surprised to see himself as the face of F1 for the $34.8 billion worth EA Sports.

The 26-year-old said, “I could never imagine to be on the cover myself when I grew up. When you use real footage as well, you can see the real emotion of a person.”

Remembering the snapshot from his iconic win in Barcelona, Verstappen continued, “I remember from Barcelona, it was a really good weekend, like, a strong weekend. You cross the line, you win the race, of course, you’re very happy. It’s also one of my favorite tracks on the calendar.”

Max Verstappen was just four years old when he started karting. Ever since then, the Dutchman has lived and breathed motor racing. Despite that, he never expected to make it as big as he has in F1. The by-product of that success is EA Sports honoring him by putting him on the cover for F1 24.

Given the way he has dominated F1 in the last two years, it is only appropriate that he gets to be the face of the sport. Sure, he has the best car on the grid but it is highly unlikely that any other driver would have been able to extract as much performance from it as Max Verstappen does.

Another factor that makes him the most appropriate driver to represent the game is his love for sim racing. Not only is Verstappen an avid sim racer himself, but he also has a team that professionally competes in e-racing competitions.

The other facet of Max Verstappen’s racing personality

One of the reasons why Max Verstappen is excellent on the track is his obsession with racing off it. The three-time champion has an elaborate simulator racing rig at home which he regularly makes use of. Verstappen features on Twitch, the streaming platform, to live stream not just his own races but also of his team.

Team Redline, a professional sim racing team, was founded 20 years ago. However, it started racing under the Verstappen.com livery in 2023 when the Dutchman’s racing banner took over. Apart from Formula 1, the team races in almost every sim racing discipline, including GT championships.

Redline made a big stride in December 2021 when they announced their participation in GT3 racing. Their Middlesbrough-based lineup included Alex Malykhin and James Dorlin, a GT4 race winner and 2020 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB champion.

Following Lando Norris’ maiden Grand Prix win in Miami, the onus is now on McLaren to put the pressure on Red Bull- F1’s most dominant team over the last two years. Bullish about their chances, McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown feels that they can use the turmoil within Red Bull to their advantage.

Speaking to Sky Sports F1’s Craig Slater, Brown said,

“I think there are a lot of issues going on there. I think the least of the issues is probably on track. With what’s happened at the start of the year, the constant noise, [and] now Adrian Newey’s leaving – I think there is going to be more dominoes to fall.”

Brown is alluding to the controversies at Red Bull behind the scenes. It all started with Team Principal Christian Horner being put under investigation because of a complaint lodged against him for inappropriate behavior towards a female employee.

Horner was exonerated of the grievances. But a power struggle ensued between the Thai owners (who backed Horner) and Oliver Mintzlaff (Red Bull GmbH Managing Director). Max Verstappen and Helmut Marko were reportedly in the latter’s corner, making the situation even worse.

This hasn’t affected Red Bull’s performance much on the track (yet). Brown admits that Red Bull is still the fastest team on the track. However, it did contribute heavily to Adrian Newey putting in his resignation papers earlier this month, as per reports.

Cracks have begun to appear within the Red Bull camp, and their rivals have taken advantage of it.

McLaren won its first race since Monza 2021 (in Miami) and Ferrari won the Australian GP earlier this year. Both look closer to Red Bull than they did at this stage last season and with more upgrades set to come in, the battle for the crown could heat up in the months to come.

Red Bull under pressure in 2024

The RB20 is still the benchmark of the field this year. However, it doesn’t appear to be as dominant as its predecessor- the RB19. With Newey now stepping aside from the car’s development, Ferrari and McLaren out-pacing the Austrian stable and assuming a lead in the Championship is not an unfathomable thought anymore.

Another threat to Red Bull’s dominance is on the horizon in the form of the 2026 regulation reset. Newey’s input could have been crucial in them holding on to their superiority.

Now, that expertise could fall into the hands of Ferrari, which remains Newey’s most likely destination.

However, McLaren doesn’t want to wait until 2026 to try and dethrone Max Verstappen. To capitalize on this reported turmoil within the team, its rivals are ready to pounce on any opportunity at the earliest.

Having grown up together, Max Verstappen and popular Dutch DJ Martin Garrix share a special bond. They go out on vacations together and the latter gets a sneak peek into the Red Bull driver’s daily life. Speaking to Virgin Radio Dubai, Garrix revealed the amount of dedication his compatriot shows when it comes to racing. 

Requiring utmost focus, drivers train rigorously to ensure they stay sharp when racing begins. Garrix asserted how hard Verstappen and other drivers work to get into the right mindset. Furthermore, he revealed Verstappen is busy with sim racing in his free time too.

The activity acts as a training exercise for the 26-year-old, who builds more focus ahead of race weekends. Garrix said,

“To me, it’s mind-blowing.”

Garrix is also friends with Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, both of whom he met through Verstappen. He knows that all drivers face immense pressure to train at the highest level. But that is not to say that F1 drivers don’t have fun. When they are away from the track, the likes of Norris, Ricciardo, and even Verstappen engage in happening activities, often involving Garrix himself.

Their elite mentality allows them to train hard, and also stay in the zone. This translates to good performance on the track, where plenty of distractions await to spoil a driver’s race.

How Max Verstappen and Martin Garrix became friends

Martin Garrix and Verstappen first crossed paths at the NOCNSF Sports Gala in 2014, where the latter received an award virtually. The duo started talking to each other, and their relationship kicked off when they spontaneously met on a holiday in Ibiza.

Very quickly, the two stars understood that they were both “quite normal”.

In 2023, they even went on a relaxing vacation to Saint Tropez. Per Verstappen, the trip acted as a kind of detox for Garrix, who wanted to take time off his very busy schedule.

With both entities being extremely successful and popular in their respective fields, Verstappen believes that blowing steam off and being normal is key. The two engage in interesting conversations, including philosophy which is something Garrix believes in.

This helps Max Verstappen, who needs to be on his A-game when suiting up for Red Bull in an F1 race. Hence, he surrounds himself with people like Garrix when he isn’t racing, in order to keep his mind fresh.
