Anthony Joshua’s forecast regarding the outcome of the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul bout.

Anthony Joshua has gained media attention by endorsing the YouTuber before of the much awaited fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. This fight, which is slated for July 20 and will be aired live on Netflix, has drawn a lot of interest even though it was first classified as an exhibition.

Speculation regarding the result has only increased since Tyson made it clear that a fight will take place. According to reports, both boxers might decide to use 16-ounce gloves rather than the customary ten-ounce ones, presumably to lessen the force of their blows. There are also rumors that the fight will take place in two-minute rounds.

“This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won’t see any of the laws we’re fighting under,” Tyson noted.

“This is a fight. I don’t think he’s faster than me. I’ve seen a YouTube video of him at [age] 16 doing weird dancing. That’s not the guy I’m fighting.

“This is a guy who’s really going to try and hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s going to be greatly mistaken. Right now, I’m scared to death. As the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it’s reality, and in reality I’m invincible.”

    Joshua’s remarks

The age disparity between the two men, with Tyson at 58 and Paul considerably younger, raised concerns among commissions, leading to the match not being sanctioned as a professional fight. Nonetheless, with the event given the green light, Joshua has voiced his belief that Paul holds the edge over Tyson.

“I personally think it’s really good,” Joshua said.

“I think the boxing hardcore don’t like it because they think, ‘Why are they disrespecting our sport? [And] I think that person brings all these people into boxing, which benefits everyone else. Everyone viewing helps. He’s [Mike Tyson] older now. I pray that he comes out healthy. I think Jake Paul because of youth – that’s the only thing.”

50 Cent Constantly Mocks Diddy And Makes The Most Provocative Statement About Bad Boy Boss Involving Mike Tyson

50 took to Instagram on Sunday (April 7) to share footage of Puffy and Tyson’s awkward appearance together on The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show in 1998.

During the interview, Tyson held Diddy’s hand up to show off his jewelry while saying, “It truly is about the Benjamins,” referencing his classic 1997 song with Biggie, Lil Kim and The LOX.

When reposting the clip, however, 50 claimed that Tyson wasn’t happy with the positioning of Diddy’s hand and was instead moving it away from him.

“hahaha look at Mike, oh no your not gonna touch my ASS buddy. LOL,” he joked in the caption, implying Puffy wanted to grope the champion boxer.

    See the post below.

50 Cent’s post came shortly after he mocked Diddy on stage the night before while performing at J. Cole‘s Dreamville Festival.

“I love you brother, no P. Diddy. I love you…even if you a 𝑠e𝑥 worker,” he told the crowd, referencing the “pause”-esque joke at the expense of the Bad Boy boss and allegations he paid women for 𝑠e𝑥.

Before that, the G-Unit general again made allusions to Diddy’s 𝑠e𝑥uality by clowning him for riding a bike amid his mounting legal troubles.

After photos of the embattled mogul looking unperturbed while cycling surfaced online, 50 joked: “You know there ain’t no seat on that bike right!”

50’s taunts have been relentless in recent months since Diddy was hit with multiple 𝑠e𝑥ual assault lawsuits and had his homes raided by Homeland Security as part of a federal 𝑠e𝑥 trafficking investigation.

The 54-year-old was vehemently denied all of the allegations and, despite the civil suits, has yet to be charged with a crime.

  • Jake Paul’s MMA debut set for indefinite delay as he prioritises boxing ahead of Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul’s MMA debut set for indefinite delay as he prioritises boxing ahead of Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul’s first appearance in the PFL is unlikely to take place this year.

The YouTube star signed a deal with MMA promotion PFL, but has yet to make his debut despite beginning his training in the sport, with footage emerging of him already practising leg kicks.

Paul announced he would make his MMA debut with PFLCredit: PFL

Paul has since continued his boxing career, and will next take on heavyweight legend Mike Tyson on July 20.

And when giving an update on the Problem Child’s maiden cage appearance, PFL chief Donn Davis insisted it will be delayed until further notice.

He said during a media scrum: “The good news is, if people didn’t think Jake was serious about combat, he’s proven to be serious.

“He’s certainly got better. He’s doubled down on boxing at the minute, there’s no question about it.

“There was a time when he might have done 50/50 of both and right now it looks like he might be 90/10 in favour of boxing over MMA.

“So his development in MMA is not coming along as quickly as we thought. Will he fight for the PFL? One hundred per cent.

“Will he move to MMA? One hundred per cent. Is the timing delayed? It is.”

Paul’s debut was expected to take place this year, but he has made it clear that he is prioritising his lucrative boxing exploits.

He verbally offered an MMA rematch deal to former boxing opponent Nate Diaz, who he outpointed in August 2023, but any contest has yet to materialise.

The 26-year-old first defeated boxer Andre August in December 2023, before stopping Ryan Bourland in March 2024, all since inking his deal with PFL.

A huge event with heavyweight icon Tyson is understandably the focus, but it has not been without criticism.

Despite a 31-year age gap between the pair, Paul believes he was well within his rights to accept the fight and that it was an opportunity too good to turn down.

Tyson hasn’t fought professionally since retiring from boxing in 2005, and will be 58 when he laces up his gloves again this summer.

He did, though, fight in an eight-round exhibition against Roy Jones Jr in November 2020, which was called a draw.

And even if Tyson hasn’t fought professionally for so long, Paul believes he should still fearful of the veteran’s power, with fans also pointing out his raw speed in recent training footage.

  • Anthony Joshua lists Mike Tyson among the greatest heavyweights of all time, but he leaves Tyson Fury off of the elite list.

Anthony Joshua lists Mike Tyson among the greatest heavyweights of all time, but he leaves Tyson Fury off of the elite list.

Anthony Joshua ranked current and former heavyweight boxing champions, however he did not include Tyson Fury in the elite group of prior champions.

The 34-year-old has been nominating his selection of the greatest boxers in the history of the division in an effort to put himself in the running for another world title shot when he takes on Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on Friday, March 8.

Joshua, a two-time world champion himself, hopes to add another record to his collection by going up against the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua was given a list of heavyweight fighters and instructed to sort them into five groups, ranging from GOAT [greatest of all time] to sparring partner, before to his matchup with former UFC star Ngannou.

The Englishman ranked seven competitors in the GOAT category, with the remaining boxers ranked in the champion, world, and mid levels.

There was no space for reigning heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in Joshua’s top tier rankings

An honest and modest Joshua started by immediately thrusting former heavyweight superstar Muhammad Ali into the top tier who was later joined by Derek Chisora, Evander Holyfield, Wladimir Klitschko, Joe Lewis, Mike Tyson and Rocky Marciano.

Joshua previously beat former Ukrainian champion Klitschko to claim his first WBA title at the age of 27 in front of 90,000 spectators at Wembley in 2017.

A matchup against Fury has been touted ever since and looked to be close to coming to fruition before he was surprisingly beaten in two separate bouts by Usyk.

Joshua and Fury would be one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing, but there was only space for the Gypsy King and Usyk amongst the champion rankings.

Mike Tyson was one heavyweight icon to be crowned the ‘GOAT’ title

Deontay Wilder, Frank Bruno and Joseph Parker also made it into the grouping with Joshua placing himself in the group of superstar boxers as well alongside his peers.

Meanwhile, upcoming opponent Ngannou who floored Tyson Fury in his first professional boxing bout last year was added into the third ‘world level’ tier by Joshua.

The Cameroonian has displayed his outrageous power in the build-up to Friday’s fight, but remains the underdog for the big-money clash in Riyad.

David Haye, Dillian Whyte and Daniel Dubois were also place in the same group.

A host of other heavyweight contenders including one of Joshua’s most recent opponent Robert Helenius and fellow Brit Joe Joyce were put into the mid level tier.
