Anthony Joshua believes that one “phenomenal” boxer will prevail in the heavyweight match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua has ventured to forecast with audacity who will prevail in the match between Alexander Usyk and Tyson Fury.

The two heavyweight champions will square up in the ring in Saudi Arabia on May 18 to resolve their differences.

Before the fight was postponed because of a cut that Fury sustained during training, they were meant to fight.

Usyk will fight for the belts of WBA, WBO, and IBF, while Fury will defend his WBC title.

Joshua has predicted who will win the fight in remarks given prior to the fight.

Anthony Joshua has made a bold prediction about who will win the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk

On May 18 the two heavyweight champions will take to the ring in Saudi Arabia

Fury will be keen to show the world how good he is after a poor performance against Francis Ngannou

‘I’ve fought Usyk so I can only speak on what I’ve experienced with him – phenomenal fighter, I would say he’s gonna do a really good job,’ he told TalkSport.

‘I’ve never fought Fury, so I can’t speak on what it’s like to face him. Only speaking on what I know, I have to say Usyk will be victorious.’

Joshua has lost to Usyk twice on points and was heavily criticised for his performance in the first fight.

The winner could end up facing former champion Joshua, who has also revealed his shortlist for the next fights.

It remains to be seen as to who will come out victorious, but with less than a month until fight night, AJ has given his prediction.

Joshua impressed in his last fight, stopping Francis Ngannou, who Fury previously struggled against.

Having watched his fellow Brit make far easier work of Ngannou than he did, Fury will want to make amends next month, but he has his work cut out against the undefeated Usyk.

Usyk holds wins over Joshua (twice), Daniel Dubois, Derek Chisora and Tony Bellew in his career, and will be hoping to beat a fifth British opponent to cement his place as the best heavyweight on the planet.

Tyson Fury’s Bold Declaration: “I Wish It Was Tonight!” – Heavyweight Clash with Oleksandr Usyk Sends Shockwaves through Boxing World!

Three weeks before his fight against Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury released training video, setting up a highly anticipated heavyweight bout.

On May 18, Fury and Usyk will eventually square off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the title of undisputed heavyweight world champion.

The bout was originally scheduled for February, but it was postponed after Fury cut himself during practice. The Gypsy King looked laser-focused in the gym in the Saturday morning Instagram video, so maybe the wait was beneficial.

In the video, Fury can be seen shadow boxing within the ring while keeping his gaze fixated on the unidentified victim.

The WBC champion practices his head movement and jab while dancing around the ring, appearing light on his feet.

Fury was seen working on his jab ahead of his undisputed showdown with Oleksandr Usyk

Fury and Usyk are set to meet in Saudi Arabia on May 18 to determine the world’s best heavyweight

Many expect Fury to be on the front foot against Usyk, who is widely regarded as one of the best pure boxers in the sport.

The short clip indicated that this is likely to be the case, as Fury used his footwork to move forward, but his consistent jab suggested he will aim to work his way into range methodically rather than recklessly lunging in.

The video ended with Fury shaking his arms out and hyping himself up as he looked in good spirits with fight night fast approaching.

Alongside the footage, a caption read: ‘3 weeks today guys, wish it was tonight!’

Fury is eager to get back into the ring after a disappointing showing in his last fight against Francis Ngannou.

The 35-year-old Brit was expected to ease to victory against the former UFC champion who was making his professional boxing debut.

Fury will be hoping for a much-improved display in the Middle East after being knocked down by Francis Ngannou last time out

But Ngannou knocked Fury down in the third round, and was unfortunate in the eyes of some observers to end up on the wrong side of a split decision.

Ngannou then faced Anthony Joshua last month, but suffered a devastating loss as he was knocked out cold in the second round.

Anthony Joshua announces the time, venue, and four-man shortlist for his upcoming bout before disclosing Saudi Arabia’s intentions to challenge Tyson Fury.

Anthony Joshua has disclosed that his upcoming bout may be on September 20th or 21st at London’s Wembley Stadium.

After facing Francis Ngannou in the ring on March 8, AJ also revealed who might be in the opposing corner.

The opponent that AJ fights next will depend on the June 1 show in Riyadh. AJ defeated Ngannou in the first two rounds of their fight in Saudi Arabia.

Matchroom vs. Queensberry 5v5 will feature Deontay Wilder vs. Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic vs. Daniel Dubois on June 1.

Joshua has disclosed his strategy for facing the victor of both fights and that the person he fights will depend on

Anthony Joshua has revealed how his next fight could take place in September in London

AJ also opened up on who could be in the opposite corner, having last taken to the ring to face Francis Ngannou on March 8 (pictured above)

AJ has said he and His Excellency Turki Alalshikh are looking to arrange the ‘most entertaining’ fights for the fans.

Therefore, AJ – who forced a stoppage against Otto Wallin on the Day of Reckoning card in December 2023 – will face whoever puts on the best performance on June 1.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Joshua said: ‘Whenever they tell me there’s a date, you know I’ll be ready 100 per cent. It’s gonna be in London, Wembley Stadium.

‘This is what I’m being told. If that’s what they say, they normally back their word so let’s go with that. Wembley, September 20 or 21.’

When asked who he and His Excellency were targeting as his next opponent, Joshua said: ‘On June 1 in Saudi Arabia they’ve got the 5 vs 5 card.’

The British heavyweight superstar went on to add: ‘You’ve got Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois, and you’ve got Zhilei Zhang vs Deontay Wilder.

‘So providing one of those looks good – the one who looks the best, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh said to me, ‘I want you to fight [him].’

‘What he says is, ‘In the future I want people to look back at your record and say that you took on the best.’ I said, ‘now you’re speaking my language.’

The June 1 card will see Deontay Wilder take on Zhilei Zhang and Filip Hrgovic take on Daniel Dubois (pictured above) as part of the Matchroom vs Queensberry 5v5 event

Deontay Wilder’s clash with Joseph Parker at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia in 2023 went all 12 rounds, with the judges scoring the bout 118-111, 120-108, 120-108 to Parker

His Excellency is also interested in making AJ vs Fury after the Gypsy King faces Usyk

Joshua has returned to form, beating Ngannou and Otto Wallin after losing to Usyk twice

‘So out of that pool, I believe that’s who I’m gonna be fighting, one of those. We’re on the same page and he’s on the same page as the fans as well.

‘He’s trying to deliver what the fans want, I know they want that big fight with Tyson Fury and he’s working on it.

‘But Fury’s got his obligations with Oleksandr Usyk so I’ve gotta make sure I stay focused and disciplined, keep steamrolling through opponents so I can get closer and closer to having the opportunity of me vs Tyson Fury.’

AJ finished by saying: ‘I pray that he does his thing, I pray that Zhang does his thing. Whichever one looks good and whichever one His Excellency wants, I’m ready.’

Tyson Fury pals say star ‘needed someone with him 24/7’ in height of depression and reveal horror chat before famous win

TYSON FURY “needed someone with him 24/7” at the height of his depression after predicting his mental health battle.

Fury pulled off a stunning upset in 2015 to take Wladimir Klitschko’s unified heavyweight titles.

But he had to relinquish them just a year later after suffering from depression and substance abuse.

Fury ballooned up to 30 STONE and has been open about battling suicidal thoughts during the dark period in his life.

It meant close friends – like boxer Isaac Lowe – kept a close eye on the struggling Gypsy King at all times.

Lowe, 30, said on an episode of Fury Uncovered: “Someone had to be with him 24/7. More or less all the time.

“You can be the richest man in the world, you can have everything.

“But if you’ve got horrible thoughts going through your head, you’re better being with someone.”

Fury told anyone who would listen for years prior that he would defeat Klitschko – and that he could already see his mental breakdown coming.

Strength and conditioning coach Kristian Blacklock said: “Before he fought Klitschko, I asked him specifically, ‘What are you going to do when you win’?

“And he said, ‘I’ll be miserable.’ I said, ‘Aren’t you going to go on holiday, with your family, with your kids to celebrate?’

“He goes ‘nah, I’ll probably be really depressed’. It was like his ultimate goal in life, obviously he’s achieved it, where do you go from here?”

Fury did eventually return to the ring in 2018 and remarkably challenged Deontay Wilder for the WBC title the same year.

It ended in a controversial draw which set up a classic trilogy between the duo which Fury, 35, ended with two stoppage wins and the belt.

The heavyweight now returns in the biggest fight of his career on May 18 against Oleksandr Usyk, 37, in Saudi Arabia.

It is set to crown the first ever four-belt heavyweight undisputed champion.

But Fury’s brother Tommy – a 10-0 fighter himself – insisted his sibling has already won his biggest battle.

Tommy, 24, said: “I think the biggest fight that Tyson has ever won and will ever win in his whole entire life is that fight against mental health.”

Inside Tyson Fury’s diet for Oleksandr Usyk fight which sparked stunning body transformation

Tyson Fury’s nutritionist has offered some insight into ‘The Gypsy King’s’ diet ahead of his upcoming clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

The boxing titans square off in the first undisputed heavyweight showdown of the four-belt era on May 18 in Saudi Arabia.

They were initially scheduled to duke it out on February 17 but the date was pushed back by a month after Fury suffered a cut in sparring.

Boxing’s rumour mill began swirling with unsubstantiated claims that Fury had been having issues in camp prior to the delay.

In response, Fury came out and silenced the doubters by releasing pictures of himself looking in tip-top condition.

The Morecambe-native has always carried a bit of extra timber around his midriff but ahead of the four-belt shootout he is looking trim.

Much of his stunning transformation can be attributed to the rigorous diet Fury has been following in the lead-up to fight night.

The WBC champion’s nutritionist, Greg Marriot revealed to Men’s Health that Fury eats six meals a day varying in calorific density depending on whether he is training or not.

On rest days Fury eats 3000 calories of food while on training days he wolfs down somewhere between 4,500 and 6,000 calories.

    Day of eating

Fury has recently undergone a drastic body transformationCredit: @greg_thenutritonist/GETTY

An average day starts with a high dose of vitamin C, collagen and black coffee.

This is followed by a hearty breakfast that alternates between a fry-up (avocado on toast, sausages, tomatoes and three eggs), an omelette or protein oats.

Once he completes his morning session, Fury eats protein granola, fat-free Greek yoghurt and blueberries before tucking into a lunch consisting of chicken, rice and feta salad.

At mid-afternoon, Fury tackles another large snack: five rice cakes, natural peanut butter and a side of watermelon with a large whey protein beef isolate to wash it all down.

For dinner, Marriot says the most common meal is a big 400-gram filet steak, roasted potatoes, a dollop of Dijon mustard and veg.

Fury’s day of eating ends at 8pm when he devours another fat-free Greek yoghurt with peanut butter and vanilla essence.

Meanwhile, throughout the day he will take a number of supplements including Dextrin carb powder, magnesium and Atlantic fish oil.

    Cheat meals

Fury, like all the boxers Marriott works with, is allowed cheat meals.

“Every boxer I work with has cheat meals,” Marriott said.

“It just mentally does something to them, they look forward to it, but he’s not demanding, you know, big dirty meals.”

When he’s out of camp Fury likes to gorge on as much as he can.

During lockdown in 2020, Fury bought £557 worth of pizza.

“It was the heavyweight champion of takeaways!” he said of his greasy feast.

“I just kept eating until I couldn’t eat any more. Pizza after pizza after pizza; it was a binge.

“I had a treat day yesterday, actually: a full box of Thornton’s chocolates. I had a Sunday dinner, two bowls of trifle, a McDonald’s triple cheeseburger, two Diet Cokes and a bar of chocolate.”

Of course, Fury is not allowed to eat like this during camp.

His favourite cheat meal is far less gluttonous.

“Fish fingers, chips and beans,” he told the Sun. “Very simple, I’ve even ordered it in five-star restaurants.”

He also names turkey dinosaurs among his biggest guilty pleasures.

“Yeah, he’s got a lot of funny guilty pleasures!” Marriot told the Lancaster Guardian.

“He’s definitely got a sweet tooth too, but if you bread stuff and crisp stuff up, it’s definitely a lot more enjoyable than a regular grilled chicken.

“But I think it’s because he’s got seven kids, you know what I’m saying? Just probably indulging in a couple of freaking chicken nuggets here and there!”

As for what he is not so keen on. Marriot added: “He’s not a big fan of veg, so I cook a lot for long periods of time to mask the flavour. I’ll do it with chicken broth or bone broth.

“Or you can do it in a rice for a long period of time, so you can’t really taste it and blend it in. But as the camp progresses, obviously veg has got to go up to make sure they’re getting all their micronutrients.”

  • Francis Ngannou reveals what huge Tyson Fury fight payday will mean to him after growing up in poverty in Cameroon, with ex-UFC champion remembering his mum’s worries about food

Francis Ngannou reveals what huge Tyson Fury fight payday will mean to him after growing up in poverty in Cameroon, with ex-UFC champion remembering his mum’s worries about food

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou felt ‘powerless’ as he watched his mother worry about what food they could eat, the clothes on their backs, the shoes on their feet and the healthcare they couldn’t afford.

The 37-year-old MMA star said his family’s financial restrictions lead to the death of his father as they couldn’t afford to bring him to a hospital to receive the treatment he required.

Ngannou told Mail Sport he felt helpless in that moment and that spent the rest of his life working hard to ensure he and his family never had to worry about something like that again.

He said next month’s crossover bout with Tyson Fury has played an important role in helping him secure financial security for his family. Ngannou said the combination of money from his MMA career and next month’s bout ‘means a lot to him’.

Ngannou said he feels like he has ‘a place in society’ and beamed with delighted as he spoke about how he could afford to send his nephew to an expensive school and pay for his family to live in a nice neighbourhood.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou spent his childhood worrying about his family and felt ‘powerless’ as he watched his mother worry about money

Ngannou will go toe-to-toe with the Gypsy King in a highly anticipated crossover bout in Saudi Arabia on October 28 as part of Riyadh Season – the annual entertainment and sports festival

Ngannou returned to his childhood home after winning the UFC heavyweight title

Speaking exclusively to Mail Sport, Ngannou said: ‘It [the money from the Fury bout] means a lot to me. It’s a lot to process, looking at where I started to where I am today. Where we are today in regards to my family too. It really does mean a lot to me and my biggest joy is to look at my family.

‘I think about how we are secure, how we don’t have to worry at that terrible stuff anymore. We don’t have to worry about what to eat, we don’t have to worry about the clothes on our back, we don’t have to worry about the shoes on our feet.

‘We don’t have to worry about if a family member gets sick [and paying for health care]. We have security now and that’s something we had been worried about our entire lives.

‘My dad passed away at home. He was sick for months. He couldn’t go to the hospital because we didn’t have the money. As a young kid, I was always around looking at him. I felt so powerless.

‘Then over the years I was thinking, what if something like that happened again to my mum or one of my siblings. I was thinking, when will I be powerful enough to change things and to do something when needed.

‘Over the years you get to the point where you think, okay, I think I can do this now.  That’s meant a lot to me. That’s a huge satisfaction.’

Ngannou added: ‘You see people living in different neighbourhoods. You see kids going to different schools. Even though you couldn’t afford it growing up, you can afford it today.

‘You can afford to send a kid, whether that’s your own kid or your nephew, to those schools. You feel like you belong and you feel like you have your place in society. That’s what it means. It means a lot.’

He grew up in Cameroon and was forced to walk six miles to school before later leaving the country in pursuit of becoming a fighter

Ngannou made his way to Paris, where he forged his MMA career after being homeless

Ngannou’s journey to where he is today is nothing less than remarkable. He grew up in a small Cameroonian village called Batie and walked six miles to school every day before going on to dig sand mines at 10 years old.

As he got older, Ngannou made the journey from Cameroon to the north of the continent – travelling through Nigeria, Niger and Algeria before reaching Morocco in a pick-up truck.

From there he was able to emigrate to Spain by water – but not before being forced to live in Moroccan forests. He was rejected from Spain several times before eventually making it into the European nation.

However, Ngannou was seized upon arrival by the police and put into a detention centre for two months before being released. Following that, he snuck his way onto a train and made his way to France.

He settled in Paris but ended up sleeping on the streets while he looked for a boxing gym. The rising star eventually met trainer Fernand Lopez, who would convince him to take up MMA instead of boxing.

Ngannou says it gives him such pleasure being able to look after his family (pictured above)

Lopez told Ngannou to take up MMA as it would provide him with more immediate cash. And, it’s safe to say it did. The youngster climbed his way to the top of ladder and landed a UFC contract before going to win the heavyweight title.

However, Ngannou’s biggest payday from his UFC days was £518,000 when he fought Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight clash 2022. Therefore, signing with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) will earn him a lot more money.

Speaking at the first official press conference for their crossover bout, Fury said that Ngannou would be making in the region of £8million for their bout. Although, the MMA star never confirmed that number, it’s been well documented that next month’s clash will be his highest payday to date.

But, it’s not all about the money for Ngannou. He’s always wanted to be a boxer and he hopes the crossover bout with Fury will show the world what he is capable of doing in the ring.

Ngannou will go toe-to-toe with the Gypsy King in a highly anticipated crossover bout in Saudi Arabia on October 28 as part of Riyadh Season – the annual entertainment and sports festival.

The clash to find out who the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ is will be regarded as a professional fight and take place under the official rules of boxing with 3 judges ringside adopting the 10-point must system.

Ngannou says he is training extra hard for the fight because of the hardships he has faced. As a result, he has teamed up with Mike Tyson for the crossover bout next month.

Ngannou (left) is training with Mike Tyson (right) ahead of next month’s clash with Fury

Ngannou told Mail Sport that Mike Tyson is helping him physically, tactically and mentally

Speaking about Tyson, Ngannou said: ‘Having Mike Tyson present just makes you realise what is happening. You know that you have a fight and obviously you are serious about it but it seems like there is something missing.

‘You’re like okay I have a fight but what else do I need. Then you have Mike Tyson and he’s basically like the biggest boxing figure. It makes me think, oh man, this is serious, very very serious. It doesn’t get more serious than this.

‘That alone brings you a lot of motivation. Even when you’re tired, even when you’re done for the day, I’m like man one more. I want to do one more. I’m like I just want to be like that man. So all that stuff, has helped me mentally already.

‘Then of course, there is the technical aspect that he is bringing too. We all know how technical Mike Tyson was so obviously having his tips and hearing from him is very helpful for me. I won’t have his boxing style but I can definitely learn a lot from him.’

Few believed Tyson Fury would even make it to the ring when he first announced his boxing comeback, let alone become world champion once again.

The Gypsy King famously dethroned Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, but it soon all came crashing down as he suffered from serious mental health issues and spiralled into drink and drugs binges, ultimately vacating his belts as a result.

After a period in the boxing wilderness, Fury first revealed he was intending to return in March 2017, having addressed his mental health issues, and started a weight loss journey which saw him finally fight again in June 2018 after a two-and-a-half year absence.

A remarkable interview from midway through this process in November 2017 shows the Gypsy King successfully predicted exactly how his comeback would play out.

Fury told iFL TV at the time: “If I’ve been through it and overcome it, to get back to where I am today, then anybody can.

“Because I was as low as anybody could go. I couldn’t go any lower, the next thing was suicide.

“But now I’m back, back on top, and I’m gonna be king of the world again, for the second time. This time no-one will be able to take it from me.

“Because what don’t kill you makes you stronger. I’ve got more fire burning inside than I did before. I want it more, there’s more pain involved.

“When they say you can’t have something it makes you want it even more.

“And when you’re told you’re gonna get banned for a long time, you want it more and more and more.

“And there’s not a man out there born from his mother that can beat the Gypsy King.

“Especially not a man with a pair of gloves on, in a boxing ring, with a referee, with judges.

“You haven’t just gotta overcome the size and the reach and the movement and all that.

“You’ve gotta overcome the burning passion inside never to lose a fight.

“The will, the determination, the drive of this individual.

“I don’t call it ‘Return of the Mack’ for nothing. I am the mack daddy of it all.

“It’s my throne that I never lost. I’m the king of that throne in the heavyweight division, the emperor, and I’m still here.

“They may have tried to shut me out in the cold, but I’m still here, I haven’t gone anywhere.

“My fans love me even more now than they did before, my popularity is on the up.

“Nothing can stop me or deter me away from my path.

“No-one can stop me on this mission back to the top.

“It’s a real life Rocky story. From zero to hero to zero back to hero again.”

Fury returned to the ring in 2018 with a couple of underwhelming fights against Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta before leaping into a WBC world title clash against Deontay Wilder.

This bout ended in a controversial draw, which the Brit rectified by dramatically stopping the American in the subsequent two fights of their trilogy in 2020 and 2021.

He’s since defended his throne against Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora, and will now face Oleksandr Usyk to crown one true king of the division on May 18.

Time will tell if Fury’s prophecy will be completed.

  • The heavyweight bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is certain to take place at Wembley Stadium, according to a Saudi powerbroker.

The heavyweight bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is certain to take place at Wembley Stadium, according to a Saudi powerbroker.

In order to ultimately face off, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury might agree to a two-fight deal. Eddie Hearn has revealed that Wembley Stadium might host one of the fights.

Joshua has now engaged in three fights in Saudi Arabia over the previous five, the most recent being an early-month victory over Francis Ngannou in just two rounds.

Furthermore, Fury and Ngannou recently fought in Saudi Arabia. He is expected to return in May for his much awaited fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

A victory for Fury may lead to a matchup with Joshua, but supporters are worried that the fight might not take place in the United Kingdom because Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh can pay fighters a lot of money to compete in the Middle East.

Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has expressed optimism that his client and Fury may meet in the UK and even stated that Alalshikh is looking into the possibility.

According to Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua may face Tyson Fury twice.

Fury has to get past Oleksandr Usyk first, but may then focus his attention on Joshua

Hearn claims that one of the fights may occur at Wembley Stadium.

Hearn stated on The Sports Agents podcast, “This is a gentleman named Turki Alalshikh, who is obviously a very influential figure in sports and entertainment in Saudi Arabia.”

He’s the greatest fight enthusiast I’ve ever encountered, too. Amazingly, he’s now discussing holding two fights between Fury and AJ: one in Saudi Arabia and one at Wembley Stadium.

Both Fury and Joshua have fought at Wembley previously, having had some of their greatest boxing performances at the storied arena.

In front of 90,000 spectators at Wembley in 2017, AJ overcame Wladimir Klitschko by coming off the canvas to halt the Ukrainian in the eleventh round in a back-and-forth battle.

The next year, he made a comeback and defeated Alexander Povetkin of Russia in the seventh round.

In 2022, Fury defeated fellow Brit Dillian Whyte at the national team stadium and repeated the victory.

Hearn asserted that Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh (above) is in favor of starting one of the fights in the UK.

Hearn acknowledges that major bouts will inevitably continue to be staged in Saudi Arabia in the upcoming months and years, but he would love to bring a Joshua-Fury bout to Wembley and says Alalshikh is on board.

Hearn said, “He’s one of those guys that listens and reads everything,” in reference to Alalshikh.

“He has so undoubtedly seen statements such as “It’s a shame the fight is in Saudi Arabia” and “I wish this fight was at Wembley”.

“I mean, we really need to have a more global perspective in sports. Boxing is more than just two British guys fighting for the undisputed world title. I really believe he would bring one of them to the UK.” And that they are able to accomplish that financially.

Tony Bellew believes Anthony Joshua would knock out Tyson Fury if the two British heavyweights finally agreed to fight each other.

Joshua dispatched Francis Ngannou inside two rounds in Saudi Arabia earlier this month, and has now had three of his last five fights in the Middle Eastern country.

Fury also fought in Saudi Arabia last time out, beating Ngannou on points in October, and is set to return there in May for his undisputed heavyweight clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

A win for Fury could set up a fight against Joshua, a mouthwatering prospect for British boxing.

And Bellew believes Joshua’s recent performances would make him the clear favourite against Fury, who only beat Ngannou on points in the MMA star’s boxing debut.

Joshua has enjoyed a brilliant return to form, winning his last four consecutive fights

Fury will take on Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed heavyweight clash in May

‘I believe he faces the winner of Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk and if that is Fury who comes out as the winner and the undisputed champion, then Anthony Joshua knocks him out,’ Bellew told Spinbet.

‘I just think he will let his hands go and stop Fury. His power is ridiculous and he has once again proven how destructive he can be, it is scary.’

Joshua demolished Ngannou in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago, just four months after the former UFC heavyweight champion knocked down Fury and pushed him all the way before losing a razor-thin points decision.

But the 34-year-old delivered a dominant performance as he knocked down the MMA star twice and then finished him with a devastating right hand that left the Cameroonian-born star requiring medical attention.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn suggested earlier this week that his client and Fury could sign a two-fight deal to finally face each other, with one of the bouts potentially taking place at Wembley Stadium.

Joshua has now won his last four bouts since losing his rematch to Usyk by split decision two years ago, an emphatic return to form that has impressed Bellew.

‘You have to say well done to AJ because he is the one going out there and knocking these guys out,’ the former WBC cruiserweight champion said.

‘The job he did with Otto Wallin was absolutely clinical, it was a brilliant performance from start to finish.

‘The finish was ridiculous and then we cross over to the Francis Ngannou fight and everyone thinks he’s going to be in a world of trouble. I pretty much said it would be over within six rounds but what I did also say was that if it went past six rounds.’

Hearn feels Joshua has put himself back at the top of the heavyweight division, and admits even he was shocked by how easy the Brit made it look against Ngannou.

‘The comeback for Anthony Joshua is unbelievable. I’m talking about the mental comeback,’ Hearn, who is Joshua’s promoter, told iFL TV this month.

Eddie Hearn (left) believes Joshua is the best heavyweight in the division

One of the fights between Fury and Joshua could take place at Wembley Stadium, according to Hearn

‘I’m talking about the comeback from criticism. I’m talking about the comeback to form. Should he retire now, or is he the best heavyweight in the world? It’s one of the two.

‘So, what this guy has done to come back to the position he’s in is unbelievable. Like a broken man after the second Usyk fight, searching for answers, searching for form. He has worked so hard to find it.’

Bellew echoed Hearn’s stance, suggesting Joshua is mentally much stronger than he was even when he won his two world titles.

‘Anthony Joshua is in a place now where the mental fragility that he’s had placed on his name has now gone,’ he said.

‘There is no mental side anymore. He doesn’t have much to think about because Ben Davison has taken care of most of that. He knows he’s fit and can go and let his hands go.’
