  • Meet Britain’s Mike Tyson whose earth-shattering power rivals Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou (VIDEO)

Meet Britain’s Mike Tyson whose earth-shattering power rivals Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou (VIDEO)

Aloys Junior is Britain’s answer to Mike Tyson.

‘Iron Mike’ left a lasting legacy of destruction during his 20-year stint in the pros. The American boxing icon flattened his first 28 opponents and became the youngest heavyweight champion at the age of 20.

Aloys Junior might just be British boxing’s pound-for-pound hardest hitter

Now, there is a British cruiserweight who looks set to be the second coming of Tyson – and his name is Aloys Junior.

The south London slugger demonstrated his raw power on a visit to the talkSPORT studios where he tried out the punch machine on which he now holds the record.

Junior hit a stunning score of 982 on the hanging bag to jump to pole position on our leaderboard ahead of heavy-handed heavyweight Johnny Fisher.

Despite his weight, Junior’s score rivals that of heavyweight titans Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou, who have both recorded punches in the 990s on other versions of the machine, commonly found at fairgrounds.

Anyone who has seen Junior fight won’t be surprised by the news.

Last year, he sent Borna Grcic’s head into orbit with a booming left hook at the iconic York Hall in London’s Bethnal Green.

The Croatian lay motionless on the canvas before medics rushed into the ring to provide the fallen boxer with oxygen.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more vicious knockout no matter how deep you dig into the boxing archives. But this wasn’t an anomaly for Junior. His fans have come to expect early nights.

Of his six wins in the paid ranks, the 20-year-old cruiserweight has ended all of them inside the distance – four of which came during the opening round.

There is a strong case to be made for Junior being Britain’s pound-for-pound hardest hitter yet the aptly nicknamed ‘Animal’ insists he never looks for the stoppage.

“If you get caught flush on the chin by me it’s lights out but generally speaking I don’t look for the knockout,” Junior told talkSPORT.com.

“I enter the ring calm and composed fully prepared to go the full four or six rounds but it usually ends up going much shorter than that.”

The only contest to have gone the distance in Junior’s seven-fight professional career (6-1) was his debut against undefeated Polish prospect Michal Soczynski back in November 2021 – which he lost on points.

Most debutants opt to ease themselves into the paid ranks against journeymen with lopsided losing records but Junior is a self-proclaimed ‘risk-taker’.

“I took a massive gamble. I’m not a gambler in terms of money and finances, of course, but I’m a big risk-taker in the ring,” he said.

“I don’t like being comfortable. I like living on the edge but in boxing, I’ve learned you have to take more calculated risks.”

Despite falling short in his maiden appearance, Junior impressed Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren so much that he snapped him up on a five-year deal – and since then he has gone from strength to strength.

His next move is unclear at the time of writing although he will soon be knocking on the door for Southern Area and English titles providing he continues to pulverize his opposition.

Junior has ended all six of his wins inside the distance

Junior’s punch is concussive, anyone who has shared the ring with him will tell you that.

Unbeaten heavyweight Moses Itauma affirms nobody has hit him harder than the Penge prospect while Junior has already earned the respect of Daniel Dubois, Joshua Buatsi and Lawrence Okolie in sparring.

So, where does his earth-shattering power come from? “It runs in the genes,” Junior added. “My family are all heavy-handed. I have an uncle who was an Olympic powerlifter.

“I remember my father used to train me like a madman from a young age as well. He used to get me running on the treadmill and doing all sorts of exercises.

“A large majority of my talent comes from my father and the work ethic he gave me.”

Looking to the future, Junior has lofty aspirations. He cites Alexander the Great, who conquered Persia at the age of 30, as one of his biggest idols.

“I want to conquer like Alexander the Great,” continued Junior. “I’ve heard people say ‘Aloys you have time’ but I don’t see that.

“The time is now I’m not going to be waiting around. Mike Tyson was a champion from young. I aim to do the same.”

  • Francis Ngannou battered Jairzinho Rozenstruik’s head into the fence after brutal one-punch KO that impressed Mike Tyson

Francis Ngannou battered Jairzinho Rozenstruik’s head into the fence after brutal one-punch KO that impressed Mike Tyson

Francis Ngannou had some spectacular knockouts during his UFC career – but none of his opponents fell faster than Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

In May 2020, Ngannou needed just 20 seconds to beat Rozenstruik, but the truth is ‘Bigi Boi’ was out way before the stoppage.

After rebounding from back-to-back decision defeats by knocking out Cain Velasquez, Curtis Blaydes and Junior dos Santos, Ngannou was booked in a title eliminator bout against an undefeated prospect.

Rozenstruik quickly earned a 10-0 record after transitioning to MMA from kickboxing and was fresh off a brutal fifth-round stoppage win over Alistair Overeem, whose lip seemed to explode during their fight in December 2019.

Several months later, he found himself standing opposite Ngannou.

Rozenstruik landed an inside leg kick to start proceedings, but Ngannou used his noticeable size advantage to square up and run down his opponent.

The Cameroonian fighter threw a series of shots until a left hook caught Rozenstruik flush on the jaw and sent him to sleep against the cage.

Rather than back away from his unconscious rival, ‘The Predator’ lived up to his nickname by landing several unnecessary shots.

Rozenstruik’s head bounced off the fence as Ngannou uncorked five follow-up hooks before veteran referee Dan Miragliotta was able to step in.

Boxing legend Mike Tyson was one of the many people watching who were blown away by Ngannou’s brutally quick finish of Rozenstruik.

Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – Tyson wrote: “Resounding…vicious…future champ. Francis Ngannou 20 second knockout tonight.”

The 57-year-old made a career by destroying opponents during his reign of terror in the 1980s as he left many top heavyweight contenders on the floor.

Growing up as a child, Ngannou was a huge fan of ‘Iron Mike’ and he wanted to emulate his career inside the boxing ring.

The two men came together to train ahead of Ngannou’s debut in the sport against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury last October.

‘The Gypsy King’ got a taste of the power that caused Rozenstruik’s first MMA loss when he was dropped by a Ngannou hook in round three.

Fury survived the scare to record a controversial split decision victory and set up a historic four-belt undisputed fight with WBO, WBA, and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk on May 18.

Ngannou will continue his boxing career against former two-time heavyweight boxing world champion Anthony Joshua on March 8.

Rozenstruik has lost four more fights since being blown away by Ngannou and has just one win from his last four bouts in MMA’s premier promotion.

Rozenstruik will look to get his career back on track this Saturday when he takes on undefeated 12-0 contender Shamil Gaziev at UFC Vegas 87.

Ahead of a must-win fight, he has sent some kind words to Ngannou, who he hopes to see beat Joshua at ‘Knockout Chaos’ next weekend.

“The only thing I can say is I wish him luck,” Rozenstruik told TMZ Sports.

“I hope everything goes well for him.

“It was nice sharing the Octagon, the energy, and I wish him luck.

“No bad vibes… I hope he wins.”

  • Conor McGregor gives his thoughts on ‘strange’ fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson after boxing fans were left stunned by bizarre match-up set to be aired on Netflix

Conor McGregor gives his thoughts on ‘strange’ fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson after boxing fans were left stunned by bizarre match-up set to be aired on Netflix

Conor McGregor has spoken out on Jake Paul and Mike Tyson‘s shock announcement that they will face off this summer.

The boxing world was stunned by the news after ‘Iron Mike’ opted to come out of retirement to fight YouTuber Paul, with an age gap of 30 years between them.

Veteran Tyson, 58, has not boxed since an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr in November 2020 – while his last professional bout came in 2005 when he was beaten by Kevin McBride.

Paul, meanwhile, has quickly risen up the ranks in boxing by defeating a number of former MMA stars, including Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz – before being beaten by pro boxer Tommy Fury last year.

The influencer led some to believe he was pursuing traditional boxers after beating professionals Andre August and Ryan Bourland, but he has instead opted for another money-spinning fight against a legend of the sport that left fans and boxing experts scratching their heads.

Conor McGregor has given his thoughts on a ‘strange’ match-up between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson

Paul will fight boxing legend Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas later this year on Netflix

There has already been concern from the likes of Eddie Hearn, who called the fight ‘sad’ – and UFC star McGregor joined that chorus by calling the match-up ‘strange’ and insisted he had little interest in tuning in.

‘Oh jeez,’ the Irishman said when asked what he thought about the fight – via Happy Punch.

‘It’s a bit strange, you know. My interest is low. I don’t know. I don’t understand it.

‘I wish well for Mike [Tyson].’

The fight is being held at the 80,000-seater AT&T Stadium in Texas, which is the home of NFL team Dallas Cowboys, and it will be streamed live on Netflix.

Tyson said: ‘I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul.

UFC fighter McGregor said his interest in the high-profile showdown was ‘low’

‘He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a “kid” can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.’

Paul added on Instagram: ‘It’s time to put Iron Mike to sleep.

‘It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard.

‘Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons.

‘My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion ever, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. This will be the fight of a lifetime.’

Hearn had voiced his opposition to the event and said it threatened to diminish Tyson’s legacy.

‘For me it’s really sad because Mike Tyson was one of my idols growing up, and to see him fighting at 57, 58… but I also understand that a lot of people are going to tune in and watch,’ Hearn told Mail Sport.

‘It’s an entertainment event, Netflix, great to see them involved in boxing. I think it will do really well. But it’s just not really one for me.’

‘I don’t think you should be fighting at 57 years old. But also the guy was one of the greatest ever fighters,’ Hearn continued.

‘Why do you want to go in at five per cent of what you were and lose to a guy like Jake Paul?

‘He shouldn’t have to do that, but the world is the world we live in.’

  • The Ultimate Showdown: Jake Paul and Mike Tyson Poised for a Professional Fight, Reigniting ‘Iron Mike’s’ Legacy after 19 Years.

The Ultimate Showdown: Jake Paul and Mike Tyson Poised for a Professional Fight, Reigniting ‘Iron Mike’s’ Legacy after 19 Years.

According to reports, the producers of the contentious boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are pressing for it to be held as a professional competition.

Last week, Paul, 27, caused controversy by declaring that he will be taking Mike Tyson, 57, in a live Netflix fight on July 20.

‘Iron Mike’ getting back into the ring with a fighter 30 years his junior appeared to be a display, but many were quick to express displeasure over the idea—especially in light of recent film showing him needing a walking stick.

He will be facing a YouTuber who is establishing a professional boxing career in Paul. The fighter has won nine out of ten fights, including devastating knockouts of former UFC stars Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren.

Therefore, many prominent personalities in the sport are worried that Tyson, who is 58 in June, will face off against a fighter as inexperienced and forceful as Paul.

Mike Tyson could reportedly be set to face Jake Paul in a professional contest this summer

Tyson will be 58 by the time he steps into the ring to face Paul, who is 30 years his junior.

And according to combat-sports journalist Ariel Helwani, Paul and Tyson’s bout may not even be classed as an exhibition, with promoters understood to be pushing for a pro contest.

‘They’re still working on a few important details based on the conversations that I’ve had,’ Helwani said on his latest MMA Hour show. ‘Is it pro or is it exhibition? They want pro, obviously that’s up to the Texas Commission. We’ll wait and see.

‘Weight, I’m told heavyweight. Rounds working on that as well.’

Former British heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora recently claimed that Paul and Tyson will be wearing headguards and using 18oz gloves in a sparring-style fight, a rumor which was shut down by Helwani.

Instead, organizers are reportedly keen for the bout to resemble a standard pro encounter – something Tyson hasn’t taken part in since 2005.

The former world heavyweight champion quit in his final contest 19 years ago, with journeyman Kevin McBride forcing him to throw in the towel on both the fight and his career before the start of the seventh round.

‘Iron Mike’ has not competed professionally since his 2005 stoppage defeat to Kevin McBride

Since then, he has merely competed in exhibitions over the last two decades, the most recent coming against fellow fight legend Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

Eddie Hearn believes it will be ‘really sad’ to see Tyson return to the ring against Paul.

‘For me it’s really sad because Mike Tyson was one of my idols growing up, and to see him fighting at 57, 58… but I also understand that a lot of people are going to tune in and watch,’ Hearn told Mail Sport last week.

‘It’s an entertainment event, Netflix, great to see them involved in boxing. I think it will do really well. But it’s just not really one for me.’

Mike Tyson, 57, Impresses with Unmatched Power and Fitness as Training Camp Begins for Jake Paul Bout.

Mike Tyson has shown off his incredible power and fitness at age 57, as he begins to train for his fight against Jake Paul, the YouTube star who’s 30 years his junior.

Taking to X (Twitter) on Wednesday, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ showed fans and his 27-year-old opponent a glimpse of what they’re going to witness in the ring on July 20 in Dallas, Texas, as he practiced a series of punches with his trainer.

‘It’s day 1…the fun has just begun,’ Tyson said at the end of the video, insinuating that there’s more to come in the next four months.

At the start of the month, Tyson, who is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, said it would be fun to take on Paul, who has a 9-1 record with six knockouts. The fight will not involve headguards, it’s been revealed since.

‘Iron Mike’, who has a 50-6 record with 44 knockouts, will be hoping to shake off the rust as it will be the first time in 19 years since his last competitive fight took place. His matchup against Paul will be at the AT&T Stadium – an 80,000 seat seat arena.

Tyson and Jake Paul, who has a 9-1 record with six KOs, will fight in Dallas, Texas, on July 20

The high-profile fight will take place with no headgear, with Tyson the heavy favorite to win

‘I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul,’ Tyson said in a statement. ‘He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ”kid” can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).

‘It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.’

Paul was on the undercard in 2020 when Tyson and Jones fought in an exhibition bout that was scored as a draw.

‘It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard,’ Paul said.

It has led the likes of McGregor to blast the bout but Paul was quick to hit back on his podcast.

He said: “So Conor, you’re saying the interest is low for the fight, but the last fight you announced, there was a thousand articles written in a multi-day span, people talking about your last fight.

“In that same multiple-day span, there were ten thousand articles written about this.

“No fight ever has done these numbers in terms of face-off views and Instagram reels.

“Just on our main pages alone, it’s like 50 or 60 million Instagram views on both of our posts.

“Not to mention every single other sports page posting it. This is, in my mind, the biggest fight the world will ever see.

Kanye West, the renowned rapper and fashion mogul, has discovered an unexpected ally amid his ongoing dispute with sportswear giant Adidas.

In a recent social media post, West expressed deep gratitude to none other than Snoop Dogg, the legendary hip-hop artist, for standing in solidarity with him throughout this intense battle.

    The Yeezy Boost Controversy

The unfolding drama began when Adidas released a new colorway of their popular Yeezy Boost sneakers without obtaining West’s consent. The introduction of the “steel grey” shade into the market left the rapper visibly irate.

West accused the global brand of creative “rape,” contending that they were exploiting his name and reputation without proper authorization.

However, that was not the end of the story. West dropped another bombshell: Adidas was not only selling what he referred to as “fake Yeezys,” but they were also suing him for an exorbitant $250 million. To exacerbate the situation, they had failed to compensate him for the latest release. West claimed that the company was utilizing legal loopholes and intricate contract language to take advantage of him.

    Snoop Dogg’s Support

Enter Snoop Dogg, a fellow artist and industry veteran. Recognized for his laid-back demeanor and sharp wit, Snoop took to the comments section of West’s post.

KANYE West has no plans to return to America to reunite with his four children for Christmas after months out of the country with his wife Bianca Censori, a source has claimed.

The U.S. Sun published photographs of him partying with Bianca in Dubai at the weekend after they were on a “break” amid a reported rough patch in their marriage.

Kanye spent time solo with his daughter North, 10, in Saudi Arabia without Bianca, after she spoke about how much she loved seeing him in an episode of The Kardashians.

The 46-year-old was previously seen attending an AC Milan vs. Genoa soccer game with his son Saint, seven, in Italy back in early October, but has not been seen with his other children.

He also shares a daughter Chicago, five, and a son Psalm, four, with his ex Kim Kardashian, who has the children the majority of the time despite sharing joint custody.

Kanye, also known as Ye, has been out of the country since the summer, traveling in Europe and Saudi Arabia, and a source says he has no immediate plans to return but may see his children.

“Ye has loved being out of LA, he’s never been a huge fan of the city and has no immediate plans to return, despite having a place here and his Yeezy HQ,” the insider told The U.S. Sun.

“Bianca has spent time back in Australia and they’re getting back on track and planning what to do for the holidays.

“There is talk of them returning to Italy in the next few weeks where he’s renting a place and having Kim fly the kids there, but it’s up in the air at the minute.

“He hasn’t had all four children in a while, so it may just be the older ones, who are always accompanied by Kim’s security and a nanny, but he does want to see them.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Kanye’s lawyer for comment.

    ‘RETURN TO ITALY’

Kanye has often criticized Kim during their co-parenting struggles and recently hit out at her again in a leaked text to Elon Musk shared on Instagram last month.

The hitmaker’s friend Ian Connor shared a screenshot of the message which read: “When are we going to speak. You owe me nothing. You never have to speak to me again. But if we do speak. The nature of the relationship has to change. I’m not bi polar. I have signs of autism from my car accident.

“You can’t watch Kim keep my kids from me. And not say anything publicly and then call yourself my friend so I can bring my audience to your struggling platform [X, formerly Twitter].”

The timestamps show the text to Elon was sent recently as Kanye asked Ian: “Get this out to the public,” who replied to the star, “Say less.”

Kim, 43, has always strenuously denied keeping the children away from her ex-husband after they settled their divorce in November last year after nearly seven years of marriage.

In a recent episode of The Kardashians on Hulu, Kim said daughter North prefers her father’s way of life.

“North, she’ll go to her dad’s, she’ll be like, ‘Dad is the best. He has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny. He doesn’t have a chef. He doesn’t have security. He lives in an apartment,’” Kim told her sister Kourtney. “And she’ll start crying, ‘Why don’t you have an apartment? I can’t believe we don’t have an apartment.’”

    CONSTANT TRAVELING

Kanye secretly tied the knot with his Yeezy employee, Bianca, who is in her late 20s, in December last year, just a month after his split with Kim was finalized.

The U.S. Sun was first to report they were living in an apartment in West Hollywood, close to his Yeezy HQ on Melrose Avenue, before taking off on their travels, first to Tokyo.

An online property description shows their exact unit is estimated to be around $6,650 a month for the lease.

It is a one-bed, one-and-a-half-bath home with just over 1,800ft of space in a luxury apartment building.

The couple spent time at the home before first jetting off to Japan in July where they met up with Bianca’s parents Leo and Alexandra and her sister Angelina.

Months later rumors swirled her family disapproved of his alleged controlling behavior and wanted her to leave him.

She spent months in Italy with Kanye before returning to Australia amid a reported ‘intervention’ but she has since been seen back by his side in Dubai.

Kanye has been focused on his music comeback and dropped the controversial track, Vultures, containing anti-Semitic lyrics which have provoked a strong reaction online.

He is said to be releasing a full album in the coming weeks with collaborator Ty Dolla $ign.

Kim attended the game with her son Saint for his birthday, and he is known to be a huge sports fan.

He was seen wearing a Number 23 Lakers jersey, the number of basketball superstar LeBron James.

The Skims founder was sporting an all-black outfit with a tight and low-cut top that pushed her cleavage together.

In addition to her all-black attire, she added a bit of sparkle with her unique clutch.

Instead of a typical rectangular purse, Kim was carrying a silver rhinestone bag that looked like a high heel.

    WHY KIM, WHY?

Once fans were made aware of The Kardashians star’s presence at the game, X, formerly known as Twitter, went wild.

One aggressive Lakers fan said: “Kim Kardashian‘s stupid annoying a** being courtside looking bored as f**k is pissing me off.

“If you don’t cheer for the #Lakeshow right now … Yes, I’m bitter.”

Another person had a similar complaint, writing: “Kim Kardashian wasting them front row seats all in her d**n phone lol.”

A third said: “FYI: there is Kim Kardashian in the background texting while everyone else is freaking out at Anthony Davis‘s DUNK!!”

“Kim Kardashian, why are you even at the Lakers game? You’re missing out on the action. #GoHome,” a fourth person wrote while including a picture of Kim on her phone.

However, others were star-struck to see the celeb, with one person tweeting a video of Kim and Saint waving.

“KIM KARDASHIAN IS IN THE BUILDING,” the tweet read.

“Kim Kardashian come to the Lakers game for the rest of the season plz,” read another tweet.

“I’ll be at the game in January. I’ll save you a seat Kim Kardashian,” read a third.

Kim is known to bring Saint around the globe to attend professional soccer games together.

In late July, the mother-son duo traveled to Japan to watch the Paris Saint-Germain vs. Al-Nassr FC match.

    SAINT’S BIRTHDAY

Kim’s surprise appearance at the Lakers game came as the family celebrated Saint’s birthday on December 5.

Kris Jenner took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to honor her grandson and show some appreciation to his mom.

“Happy birthday our amazing Sainty!!!!! Your smile and your spirit and your heart just keep getting bigger and bigger!” she wrote in the caption.

She posted a carousel of photos with several snaps of Saint that summed up his life so far.

The Kar-Jenner matriarch showed moments of Saint as a baby, and when he was a toddler.

There were also family photos of Saint with Kim, 43, Kris, and his other siblings North, 10, Psalm, 4, and Chicago, 5.

Kim shares all four kids with ex-husband Kanye West, 46.
