Mike Tyson has sparked excitement by posting workout videos on social media, but Dave Allen does not want to see him near a boxing ring.

Dave Allen believes he would beat a 53-year-old Mike Tyson and feels that provides ample reason for the heavyweight great never to set foot in a ring again.

Speculation is mounting of Tyson’s future plans after the former world champion posted several videos online of him thrashing through some explosive pad workouts.

Tyson’s old rival Evander Holyfield, now 57, has also suggested he is ready to comeback for exhibition and charity bouts – even stating he is open to a third meeting with the man who infamously bit off a chunk of his ear when they last met in 1997.

Nevertheless, British heavyweight Allen – who holds a career record of 18 wins, five defeats and two draws – is uneasy over the prospect, with particular concerns over Tyson making a return over 33 years since the start of his first reign as champion.

“If I got offered the Mike Tyson fight, the money would be fantastic but it wouldn’t sit right, would it?” Allen said in an interview with talkSPORT 2.

“A lot of people would laugh at this, but this is the fact – I would beat a 53-year-old Mike Tyson.

“And that is the saddest thing any boxing fan wants to hear. For that reason alone, he should never box again.

“I think fighting’s a young man’s game. I’m 28 years old, I’ve had a lot of hard fights and people are saying to me, ‘David, you’re coming to the end of your career now’.

“I’ve talked to people saying I should stop before because I’ve had some hard fights.

“People see him on the pads, a little minute clip, and say, ‘Oh, he could come back and beat everybody’.”

Allen feels the romantic notion of Tyson giving Father Time the slip in his sixth decade obscures the reality of a painful career denouement at the start of the century, when a one-sided hammering against Lennox Lewis preceded defeats to Danny Williams and Kevin McBride – two fighters a prime ‘Iron Mike’ would have dealt with handily, in all probability.

“I remember 18 years ago him losing to Lennox Lewis after seven one-sided rounds,” he added.

“A year later he lost to Danny Williams, then again he lost to Kevin McBride. This is 16 years ago.

“Mike Tyson’s one of the greatest fighters of all time, but you can’t turn back the clock and he’ll never be what he was. So I don’t really want to see it.”

Mike Tyson revealed that he was relieved when he found out Mitch Green “wasn’t dead” after their controversial street fight in 1988.

The boxing icon fought with Green inside the squared circle in 1986 and secured a unanimous decision victory at Madison Square Garden in New York.

But their heated rivalry escalated only two years later when they clashed in an early-morning street fight.

Tyson has now opened up about the incident and revealed how he beat the living hell out of Green, only for his rival to recover like some “f*****g Michael Myers s**t!”

He explained on his Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast: “He [Green] started talking and saying, ‘What the f**k you doing in my hood, n****r?’ Then it was on from there.

“Right in the street [we fought]. Real quick.

“He was just talking a lot and I really thought he was grabbing for my pockets, so I pulled my pockets out because if he ripped my pants all the money would fall and I wouldn’t have a chance to get my money so I’d have to fight this cat right and then my money is to the wolves.

“So, anyway, that’s just when I started punching him.

“I dropped him a couple of times, but he was high on angel dust [PCP] so he kept getting back up!

“Just like Friday the 13th f*****g Michael Myers s**t! Boom, I knock him out cold! He keeps getting back up. I’m like, ‘f**k!’”

Tyson went on to reveal that he rushed to his car as he was ready to make a quick exit from the brawl.

But Green broke one of the side mirrors off Tyson’s Rolls-Royce, which prompted the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ to unleash a second beating on his rival.

Tyson said: “Then I’m in the car. He rushes to my car in my Rolls-Royce, he breaks the side mirror off.

“I got out of the car. I went out of the car and I said, ‘Excuse me one minute.’

“I hit Mitch and Mitch went down and he bent over and I grabbed his head and I hit him one time and his head hit the floor. The concrete. Boom!

“And that’s when he was out [knocked out cold].

“I got scared because he didn’t move anymore when his head hit the concrete and that’s when I just ran and got in the car and thought, ‘Let’s get the f**k out of here.’

“I thought I killed him [and] I was so scared.

“I was so happy the next day in the ‘papers they showed his eye [injury] because I knew he wasn’t dead then.”

In his 2013 autobiography, Undisputed Truth, Tyson claimed that his former promoter, Don King, had owed Green money.

One of Green’s eyes was completely swollen after the clash with Tyson in the streets of Harlem.

Former undisputed world heavyweight champ Tyson suffered a hairline fracture to the right hand, which was placed in a cast and pushed back the date of his first clash with Frank Bruno.

Green, 62, sued ‘Iron’ Mike for $25m in 1997 over the injuries he had suffered from their street fight.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the former boxer was awarded $45,000 for ‘pain and suffering’ and not the ‘alleged assault and battery’ in the $25m lawsuit.

Tyson suggested in his autobiography that he didn’t hurt Green any further due to the crowd that had gathered around them in the street fight.

The former heavyweight champion of the world delivered a classy response to ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Mike Tyson gave a typically humble response after Deontay Wilder claimed he would “kick the hell” out of a prime version of ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’.

Wilder, who slumped to a unanimous decision in his last fight against Joseph Parker after he survived a barrage of overhand rights and left hooks, previously bragged about the idea of beating a younger ‘Iron’ Mike.

Back in 2018, when TMZ specifically asked then-WBC heavyweight champion Wilder if he would stand a chance against Tyson, he responded: “Yes.”

‘The Bronze Bomber’ then went on to claim that he fears no heavyweight, past or present.

“Me vs Tyson in ’86, I’d kick the hell outta that guy,” he said without hesitation. “Listen, I’ve got to keep it real. I know people always go back to the old school or look at the new school and there’s no school where I’m not No 1 on Earth.”

Two years later and Tyson, who will fight Jake Paul later this year, responded to Wilder’s bold claim.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said he was unsure if the Alabama-born fighter would have beaten him but admired the 38-year-old’s confidence.

“I don’t know [whether I’d beat him],” Tyson said. “I love the fact that he thinks that, because that’s the way I would think as well.

“He’s supposed to think that way, he is the heavyweight champion of the world and that’s something very special.”

Tyson certainly remained humble in front of the BT cameras but back in 2018, he was once again asked if Wilder could have beaten him in a fight.

“I don’t think so,” he replied.

Former British heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis was far more vocal in his response to Deontay Wilder’s comments.

“I just heard Deontay Wilder said he would destroy a young Mike Tyson,” he said.

“My thoughts are that it’s easy to talk until you actually get in the ring. I like Wilder but he’s never been in there with someone that ferocious who truly wants to break his ribs with every punch. I don’t see it.

“I love Wilder’s confidence… you need that to sit atop the heavyweight division… he’s hungry and shows up in probably best shape in division… but there’s levels to it… and he’s still adding to his arsenal.

“My best advice to the entire crop of young heavyweight champs is to focus on being the best of YOUR era! Out of respect and reality. It’s unprovable. Of course people asked, but I found no need to speculate or compare myself to my idol Ali or any other of the past greats.”

Floyd Mayweather is no longer ranked as the greatest pound for pound boxer of all time – and Mike Tyson does not even make the top 10 list.

The 46-year-old, with his perfect 50-0 record, was ranked the best to ever step inside the squared circle by Box Rec, the go-to site for all boxing stats and information, when the list was published back in 2020.

Mayweather’s last official fight was a 10th round TKO victory over UFC star Conor McGregor in August 2017 and won 27 of his bouts by knockout.

 

But Mayweather is now number two on the list and has lost top spot to a fighter whose career spanned 25 years and began in 1940 and involved a remarkable 201 bouts.

Sugar Ray Robinson is now top spot, with a record of 174 wins, 109 of which were by knockout and ranks him among the all-time leaders for knockouts.

The impressive record also includes six draws, two no-contests, and only 19 losses, which is not bad going at all considering his career spanned 201 fights.

Robinson died at the age of 67 in 1989 from heart disease, with a career that began in 1940 and ended when he announced his retirement from boxing in November 1965.

Manny Pacquiao, one of Mayweather’s great rivals during his career, sits fourth on the list.

But there’s no place in the top 10 for the likes of Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr, Lennox Lewis, Rocky Marciano and Joe Calzaghe.

 

Tyson is possibly the biggest omission from the top 10 and one of the biggest names to not feature.

Tyson had a total of 58 professional boxing bouts between 1985 and 2005 in a career which spanned three decades and came to a conclusion as he approached his 39th birthday.

In that time, Tyson chalked up 50 wins and just six losses, with an astounding 44 victories on knockout as he demonstrated his stopping power in the ring.

And Ali’s career spanned a total of 61 bouts, with a remarkable 56 wins, 37 of which were knockouts, and just five losses.

The Greatest passed away in 2016 at the age of 74.

Bianca’s father is said to have been disappointed by Alexandra’s inability to help her daughter see through Kanye’s influence, with the source adding: ‘Alexandra wanted to do this alone and her dad was under the impression that she was going to speak to her about how she is presenting herself.

‘She was so caught up in the attention and fame of it all that she became slightly intimidated by Kanye’s influence.’

Earlier this month, Alexandra reportedly flew out ‘to see for herself’ whether her daughter is in of her control of her life.

‘Bianca’s mom had to see for herself after Bianca told her family she has this under control,’ a source told DailyMail.com. ‘This has been a wonderful opportunity for Alexandra to get to spend time with Bianca and assess the situation for herself.’

The insider continued: ‘Alexandra was lowkey believing she would come to save her daughter. But this is not the case. Kanye has started to turn things around since the release of Vultures in the sense that he is not going off on as many unhinged rants.

‘He also knows how to sweet talk a mom. This has been really a good experience, and everyone is so relieved to see her with Alexandra.’

Alexandra’s visit came days after sources told DailyMail.com that Bianca had insisted to loved ones that she is not being coerced by her husband like many have feared.

‘Bianca has talked to her family and she has told her friends the same thing since she was last back home, namely that she knows what she is doing and she has this under control,’ they said.

Indeed, the architectural designer appears to have a goal in mind when it comes to what she will do with her newfound level of fame, and is said to be making smart investments within her marriage.

While many believe the rising fashion star has simply become the Grammy-winner’s ‘trophy wife,’ Bianca has long been someone who works with Kanye to build his empire.

On top of heading the architecture for Kanye’s brand, Yeezy, since November 2020, Bianca is listed as a joint officer and manager of Oxpaha LLC, which Kanye founded in October 2023.

Kanye and Bianca have been making important moves through, Oxpaha, with all of Kanye’s recent trademark applications – including clothing items used for his album release – filed under the company.

A 7,416-square-foot commercial building on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, which it is believed he will use as a multi-purpose unit for his Yeezy fashion and music businesses, was also purchased last year under Oxpaha.

Bianca was named special power of attorney for the property deal, highlighting her importance within the rapper’s business dealings.

She was also listed as a business partner in VZW Acquisition group for many years before she first connected with Kanye.
