Meghan Markle was filmed asking Prince Harry what was on his list of perfect characteristics in a woman, in a clip that caught attention after it was posted on TikTok.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex told their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan about how their relationship started back in 2016. And Meghan let slip that Harry had written down all the characteristics he hoped to find in his perfect woman.

“He had a list apparently of what he was looking for,” Meghan said, “an extensive list.”

“I’m not showing you the list; nice try,” Harry said, adding that “this is the list,” as he gestured at Meghan.

While the documentary was released in December 2022, the clip was posted a day ago on TikTok alongside the message: “Prince Harry and Meghan met 8 years ago this month. They had their first dates at the beginning of July 2016, and they are still going strong.”

The moment, posted to @harry.nd.meghan, was viewed more than 46,000 times and liked over 3,600 times. One reply reads: “The perfect pair you can see he calms her and she calms him. They’re very much in love they don’t care what the media says. They do their thing and they love it.”

The start of the clip shows Meghan discussing how the pair went on a holiday to Botswana in Southern Africa together, a little more than a month after their first date.

“I’m getting on the plane and going to the middle of the bush? What am I doing?” Meghan said in the six-part docuseries. “What if we don’t like each other?

“So I get there. This is the first time I’ve seen him in a month. We’re awkward at first. Do we hug? Do we kiss? And I remember he handed me a chicken sandwich.”

Meghan added, though that, “thankfully, we really liked each other.”

“She’s so comfortable and so relaxed in my company,” Prince Harry added.

The couple’s first date was in July 2016 after Harry spotted her in an Instagram video posted by his friend Violet von Westenholz.

 

In his book, Spare, Harry wrote: “I was sitting around Nott Cott [Nottingham Cottage, a house in the grounds of Kensington Palace in London], scrolling through Instagram. In my feed I saw a video: My friend Violet. And a young woman. 

“They were playing with a new app that put silly filters on your photos. Violet and the woman had dog ears, dog noses, long red dog tongues hanging out. Despite the canine cartoon overlay, I sat up straighter.

“This woman with Violet… my God. I watched the video several times, then forced myself to put down the phone. Then picked it up again, watched the video again,” Harry wrote.

“I’d traveled the world, from top to bottom, literally. I’d hopscotched the continents. I’d met hundreds of thousands of people, I’d crossed paths with a ludicrously large cross-section of the planet’s seven billion residents.

“For thirty-two years I’d watched a conveyor-belt of faces pass by and only a handful ever made me look twice. This woman stopped the conveyor-belt. This woman smashed the conveyor-belt to bits. I’d never seen anyone so beautiful,” Harry added.

In his annual Christmas speech, King Charles announced that he has revoked the prince and princess titles of Archie and Lily, the children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Despite not being able to spend the holidays with his son, Prince Harry, the king revealed that Harry plans to approach him along with Meghan and their children from their Montecito mansion.

According to a reliable source, the couple’s new strategy is focused on reconciliation.

This attempt at reconciliation comes after a tense year for Prince Harry, marked by the publication of his memoir.

In the memoir, he criticizes his stepmother, Queen Camilla, as well as other senior royals.

The tension between family members was further highlighted in Scobie’s new book, “Endgame,” where Charles was named as one of the discriminating royals alongside Princess Kate.

Meanwhile, Princess Kate filmed the speech for the annual Christmas show with a film crew from British television station ITN.

The speech, which is broadcasted every Christmas day at 3pm on British television networks, is also shown on stations in Commonwealth countries like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

However, Prince Harry and Meghan will not be joining the other royals at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle for Christmas.

Instead, they will be staying in Montecito.

The latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter highlights the challenging year faced by Meghan and Harry.

The couple, once known as their royal highnesses, are now fighting to be recognized as anything else.

Their reconciliation plan, which was seen as a farce by many, has been met with criticism.

The level of arrogance displayed by the couple is unprecedented, matched only by their delusion that they can have their desires fulfilled without putting in the necessary work.

The lack of trust between the two has made it difficult for any personal interaction to take place.

Despite rumors of a possible meeting over Christmas, it seems unlikely unless certain conditions are met.

A source revealed that if a meeting were to happen, it would need to be conducted in a reasonable manner, with assistance and officials present to document the proceedings.

It appears that Meghan and Harry’s selfish motives and failures in California have further strained their chances of successful reconciliation.

Their desire for financial gain and the perks of their royal status without taking on the responsibilities associated with it has not been well-received.

As the year comes to an end, it remains uncertain whether a reunion between the king and his son will occur.

In conclusion, King Charles has revoked the prince and princess titles of Archie and Lily, signaling a rift in the relationship between Prince Harry and the royal family.

Firstly, it’s clear that Harry and Meghan have contributed to the rift by constantly airing grievances about their family. It’s hard to see how this wouldn’t create tension.

Moreover, Prince William had already taken legal action over phone hacking incidents involving him and Catherine, reaching a settlement years ago. Once you settle, you typically can’t pursue further legal action on the same issue. Harry’s notion of a unified legal front is flawed because he chose a different path from the rest of the family. While the royal family preferred a settlement to avoid a lengthy trial, Harry opted for the latter. So, how is this the royal family’s fault?

Harry often avoids accepting responsibility for his choices. His omission of these crucial details in the interview feels manipulative, even if he may not fully realize it. He seems baffled by the backlash he receives for these interviews, blaming it all on the press rather than reflecting on his own actions.

 

In a somewhat over-the-top analogy, Harry describes his legal battle as “slaying dragons,” which comes off as a bit juvenile. He claims this is a monumental endeavor, but in reality, his financial settlement was significantly smaller compared to Prince William’s. Harry’s payout was £140,000, while William’s settlement was likely in the millions. Harry’s situation, involving only nine instances of phone hacking compared to Catherine’s 140, doesn’t seem as impactful. 

Harry’s attempt to link his legal battles to his family rift is not only overreaching but also absurd. The real cause of the rift seems to be the constant public criticisms and accusations made by Harry and Meghan, many of which have been proven false or exaggerated. This ongoing saga suggests that Harry is once again contradicting himself.

For instance, Harry claims Queen Elizabeth would have supported his legal action, which seems unlikely given her preference for settlements to maintain privacy. He also contradicts himself when discussing King Charles and Princess Catherine’s health, implying his legal battles are entirely separate from his family’s well-being, yet he suggests they are central to the family rift.

Harry’s discussion of paranoia is also flawed. He argues that being vindicated from past hacking claims proves he wasn’t paranoid, which muddles the distinction between genuine concern and irrational fear. His ongoing fixation on these issues, despite the minimal hacking incidents compared to others, points to an exaggeration of his own situation.

The Sussexes seem to be struggling with their public image, partly because their legal battles and criticisms of the press are based on old issues. Meghan was not the subject of the same level of intrusive press coverage as Diana or Catherine, which should have been a positive change. Yet, Harry and Meghan appear to be dissatisfied with the lack of media frenzy, reacting aggressively to any negative coverage.

Harry’s narrative that his lawsuits have led to more negative press is also misleading. The critical stories about him and Meghan stem from their own actions and behavior, not from any retaliation by the media. His attempts to shift the blame to the press for the negative coverage they receive are not convincing.

Moreover, Harry’s claim of working for the greater good falls short. Unlike Prince William, who is actively addressing homelessness and making a tangible impact, Harry’s legal actions primarily benefit himself and Meghan. His attempts to portray this as a public service mission are out of touch with reality.

On Aug. 5, Prince Edward’s wife celebrated in the stands at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome after the British track cycling team won gold in the women’s team sprint, medaling in the event for the first time and simultaneously setting the world record time of 45.186. As seen in a video shared to X by the royal family’s official account, Sophie, 59, raised her arms in the air, cheered and reached to hug the man next to her as the moment unfolded.

“Yes!” the Duchess of Edinburgh exclaimed as she applauded.

While the hug was a much friendlier and informal exchange than the bows and curtsies often associated with the British royal family, there are no obligatory codes of behavior when interacting with royals.

According to the royal family’s official website, which has yet to be fully updated following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022, there is no enforced etiquette, “but many people wish to observe the traditional forms.”

“For men, this is a neck bow (from the head only) whilst women do a small curtsy. Other people prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way,” the guidance outlines.

Members of the royal family appear to have relaxed their stance around traditional protocol in recent years, from giving public hugs to smiling for selfies.

Sophie’s enthusiastic reaction to the epic performance by Katy Marchant, Sophie Capewell and Emma Finucane of Team Great Britain underscored her connection to the sport. The Duchess of Edinburgh previously competed in a 450-mile bicycling challenge from Edinburgh, Scotland to Buckingham Palace in London for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in 2016, the BBC reported.

She embarked on the endeavor years before King Charles conferred Prince Edward with the title of the Duke of Edinburgh, which was created for their late father, Prince Philip, and earmarked for Edward since he married Sophie in 1999.

Sophie became the Duchess of Edinburgh when King Charles confirmed the change on Prince Edward’s birthday in March 2023, and she also serves as patron of the British Cycling Federation, the governing body for cycling in Britain.

The Duchess of Edinburgh isn’t the first member of the royal family to go in for a hug during a major moment at the Olympics. In a rare display of PDA, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared an excited embrace in the stands at the 2012 London Olympics, wrapping their arms around one another when Team Great Britain won a cycling race.

While the Paris Olympics have been a hotspot for many members of royal families so far this summer, the Prince and Princess of Wales haven’t yet appeared at the global games that began on July 26. Prince William and Princess Kate, both 42, have been outside of the limelight in recent weeks as they spend time with their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6,during their school break.

While it’s possible that they may pop up in Paris before the Olympics end on Aug. 11, Princess Kate’s plans may also depend on how she’s feeling as she continues cancer treatment. The Princess of Wales announced in March that she is undergoing chemotherapy and made her second public appearance of the year at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships with Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton on July 14.

In a surprising move, Harry and Meghan have demanded a royal apology for the claims made in their Netflix documentary.

The six-hour series launched blistering attacks on Britain and the British Monarchy, leaving the palace reportedly baffled by the request. And they’re not the only ones.

As if we haven’t had enough, Netflix released a new trailer for another Harry and Meghan show. This one promises to be just as smug as the first. Inspired by Nelson Mandela, it emphasizes the idea that “what counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived; it is what difference we have made to the lives of others.”

The show aims to highlight people who have made brave choices to fight for change and become leaders, inspiring others to live and lead.

It’s unbelievable, isn’t it? Just when you think they can’t reach new depths, they now compare themselves to Nelson Mandela. Mandela, who spent nearly 30 years in a 6×6 prison cell and went on to become the first Black president of South Africa, was a unifying leader of true greatness—the most impressive person I’ve ever interviewed. And now, Harry and Meghan are comparing their move to a mansion in California, where they now monetize their royal titles for millions of dollars, to Mandela’s struggle?

 

Joining me now are author and actor, Nicholas Cage; former head of royal protection, Dai Davies; and Talk TV contributor, Esther Krakue. Esther, you’ve been waiting patiently. What do you make of their comparison to Mandela? The arrogance is incredible. Demanding an apology doesn’t make it sincere. They’ve officially declared war on the royal family with this documentary, making it clear they don’t want reconciliation. They’ve called Prince Charles a lying bully and Prince William even worse, saying he drove them out of the country with his bullying and lies. They’ve branded the whole family as racists. Why would they want an apology from people they view so negatively? 

Well, I think they demand an apology because they are self-righteous, assuming they are right about everything. I can’t understand why Charles and William would consider being in the same room with them now. But the longer they keep this feud going, the more money they make. Every move they make will now be questioned about their relationship with the royal family, which translates into a financial gain for them. And how could you trust them not to record everything if they did have a meeting?

That’s a good point. Let’s go to Natalie Collins. Natalie, some people see Harry and Meghan as true freedom fighters oppressed by the royal family, now living in a vast mansion in Montecito, Santa Barbara. It’s a beautiful place with rolling ocean waves, not my idea of oppression. But what do you make of their demand for an apology? They’ve accused their family of being racists and bullies, and they expect an apology?

In the context of a column by Jeremy Clarkson, who described Meghan Markle as worse than Rose West and suggested people should throw excrement at her, it’s important to understand the hatred directed at Meghan. You were a pioneer in that hatred years ago.

I’ve never said I hate Meghan Markle. I don’t hate her; I hate what she’s done to the royal family and to Britain’s reputation. The New York Times recently published a piece trashing Britain as a racist country with a callous institution. That’s the damage Meghan and Harry have done. But I don’t hate them as people. Regarding Clarkson’s column, he has apologized, and I didn’t think it should have been published.

Well, Meghan and Harry argue that they’ve been harmed by the institution and the system. We can’t deny the impact of colonialism and the monarchy’s history. To deny that reality is to ignore the terrible things this country has done to other places.

But the monarchy also developed the Commonwealth, a great success story. It’s not really common wealth when the royal family holds most of it. You must also hate the Sussexes, who haven’t earned their wealth but have trashed their family to get it.

I think it’s about how people use their privilege. We’re also talking about a man whose mother was killed by the media, and now his wife is attacked the same way.

These are easy lies to tell on television, but Princess Diana wasn’t killed by a baying mob.

Correspondent Tom Bradby is the man behind the memorable moment which saw the Duchess of Sussex taken aback when asked if she was OK. It was the same interview in which Prince Harry admitted he and his estranged brother were on “different paths”.

Bradby had been close friends with William and Harry for years, attending both brothers’ royal nuptials, as well as being a trusted contact in their phonebooks. Harry called regal reporters “just an extended PR arm of the Royal Family ” in his documentary on Netflix.

But Tom was different, they were good friends. Now it’s reported that bond is now gone, from William’s perspective anyway. When covering the Sussexes’ trip to southern Africa in 2019, it would be the last time he’d hold a close bond with William who reportedly felt ‘blindsided’ by his interview with Harry and his wife Meghan before they left The Firm.

Royal advisors felt his chat took advantage of Harry’s “clear vulnerability” and Bradby later admitted feeling “caught in the middle” of the pair after once behind a close friend with them both. The ITV presenter said it was “a deeply uncomfortable place to be”.
