Prince Harry and Meghan Markle declared a few weeks before to the birth of their royal child that they would not be disclosing any details about the birthing process.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” reads the statement released by Buckingham Palace.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Notably, it was never announced where Meghan planned to give birth. This was a major change from the Duchess of Cambridge’s birth plans. For each of her three children, the media was notified weeks in advance that she would be giving birth at the Lindo Wing in London’s St Mary’s Hospital, where Princess Diana had also delivered. In contrast, Meghan was rumored to want a home birth, harkening back to a much older royal tradition (all four of the Queen’s children were born at home), though that was never officially confirmed.

Today, with the publication of Archie’s birth certificate, it is confirmed that Meghan gave birth at Portland Hospital in London.

Previously, several publications had reporting that Meghan’s son was born in a hospital. The Daily Mail’s Rebecca English first broke the news that Meghan had given birth in a hospital on May 6, reporting that the Duchess “was whisked off amid such secrecy that even senior royals weren’t told.”

“It is not known whether Meghan, 37, was induced but sources say she remained there overnight before her baby was born at 5.26am on Monday morning, with an elated Prince Harry at her side,” English reported.

By the time the royal family announced the arrival of the royal baby, Meghan and Harry were back at Frogmore Cottage, their new home in Windsor.

“The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage,” reads the announcement. Naturally, that wording caused some speculation regarding whether or not Meghan had given birth at home.

The fact that the bulletin officially announcing the royal baby’s birth, which sat on an easel in front of Buckingham Palace, did not include the names of the doctors who attended to the birth, also prompted questions.

And The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews seemed to suggest that palace aides were unclear in how they addressed the situation.

 

“We were led to believe by palace aides that baby Sussex was born at Frogmore Cottage, but in fact he arrived at private London hospital the Portland,” she wrote on Twitter. “All other details still the same! Can’t wait to see a picture of him on Wednesday with his proud parents!”

I thought of this when I heard that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be embarking on a four-day trip to Colombia next Thursday.

They are coming at the invitation of the country’s first black vice president, Francia Marquez, who enthused that the rebellious royal duo “have the exceptional opportunity to connect with elders, youth and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians… and highlight Colombia’s role as a beacon of culture and innovation.”

Meghan and Harry are no longer real royals these days.

They do not perform any real duties for the institution that gave them their title. They only fill their pockets with money in America by constantly smearing their family and the monarchy in the media.

What then gives them the right to travel the world and pretend to be real royals, on quasi-official visits?

 

There is so much wrong with this idea.

First, the laughable hypocrisy of going to one of the most dangerous places in the world – both the British and US government websites warn travellers to Colombia of the increased risk of terrorism, kidnapping, rape and robbery – after all of Harry’s whiny demands for taxpayer-funded royal security whenever he comes to the UK to “protect his family”.

Second, their decision to support the Colombian government, which has been plagued by scandals since it came to power.

President Gustavo Petro, a radical socialist who once led a rebel guerrilla movement, saw his foreign minister suspended over alleged corruption, his son Nicolas accused of stealing money from drug traffickers meant for his father’s presidential campaign, and his brother Juan accused of demanding payments from jailed drug dealers in exchange for legal benefits from the government.

 

Petro was also recently accused of cheating on a transgender TV host.

As for his vice president, there is growing public anger at her hypocrisy. She is Colombia’s Minister of Equality and at the same time uses luxury helicopters as taxis and spends millions on a new house, where she now lives instead of her official residence.

Opposition politician Miguel Polo Polo posted on X: “Francia Marquez is the biggest fraud in our black community.

“She has been in power for two years and has done nothing, just played the victim and traveled around in helicopters.”

Does this sound familiar?

But what irritates me most is the Sussexes’ delusion that they can somehow operate as a rival royal family on the world stage, enjoying all the perks of royal status but without having to honour their obligations to king and country.

It is completely unacceptable and untenable for estranged members of the royal family to undertake these types of official trips.

The King should strip Meghan and Harry of the titles they so cynically trade, and he should instruct palace officials to tell the leaders of foreign governments to stop extending formal invitations for such trips to this greedy and two-faced couple who want both the royal and the royal.

Everything you might expect from an official royal visit was there – the receptions, the visits to schools and charities, to wounded soldiers and the disabled.

“Meghan and Harry’s speeches and their whole attitude has been designed to give the impression that they are still fully paid-up royals and William and his father King Charles don’t like it one bit. For Charles and William, it’s as if Meghan and Harry are saying, ‘We don’t need your permission to be working royals – we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like.’”

The expert went on claiming that the monarch was angered by Harry and Meghan’s trip and is doing everything in his power to stop it happening again, suggesting “King Charles is in a terrible bind – he would love to strip Meghan and Harry of their royal titles, but fears this will look vindictive.

Tom revealed King might use “back channels” in order to “try to block” harry and Meghan’s any future trips to other commonwealth countries, adding that it has now become the King’s number one priority.”

They received a sizable inheritance from their late mother, estimated to be around $10 million each, which each Prince gained access to on their 30th birthdays. Meghan can’t get his inheritance unless he broke the trust and commingled the funds.

It comes as it was reported that Meghan Markle has been seen out and about in town without Prince Harry, fueling the fire of divorce rumors. Multiple reports have suggested that Harry and Meghan could be headed towards a divorce, with one even suggesting that all is not well between the Sussexes.

Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh is “relieved” she no longer has to curtsy to Meghan Markle due to her change in ranking, according to reports.

Previously the Countess of Wessex, Sophie was given a new title after her husband Prince Edward was promoted to Duke of Edinburgh after Charles became King.

She was duty-bound to curtsey to the Duchess of Sussex as Meghan was a higher rank when she was a senior working royal. But a friend of the Duchess of Edinburgh told the Mail on Sunday Sophie is relieved this is no longer the case.

The source explained: “Sophie is relieved. She no longer has to curtsy to someone in the family who has not only left Royal duties but has spent the past three years criticising the institution that Sophie works so hard to support.”

Meghan Markle, as revealed in her Netflix docuseries, once believed that curtseying was a joke. Indeed, the spit between Meghan and Trevor seems to have been quite dramatic. Meghan’s former childhood friend Nikki Priddy and author Lady Colin Campbell seem to think so, in any case.

In the book Meghan and Harry: The Real Story, Campbell wrote that after moving to Toronto, Meghan began hanging out with celebrities, including celebrity stylist Jesica Mulroney.

It led the former Suits star to distance herself from her then-husband.

However, today, the friend says, he has gotten his “revenge:”

“For a long time, things were difficult for Trevor. He’s a good guy, but Meghan crushed him when she demanded a divorce. When she took up with Prince Harry, he was crushed all over again because he was constantly reminded of her because of the publicity around the marriage and then the drama of the Oprah interview. But that’s all in the past now,” the friend told the Daily Mail.

“When I saw him recently, he kept going on about how he’s the happiest he’s ever been, how he loves being a dad, and how he’s never felt more fulfilled.”

Engelson’s friend added, “Everyone in Trevor’s life knows not to mention the ‘M’ word. He’s moved on and, in some ways, you could say he’s having an even better life than Meghan.
