Meghan Markle’s pal brutally mocked Princess Kate for missing Princess Lilibet’s birthday

Meghan Markle’s friend brutally mocked Kate, Princess of Wales for missing Princess Lilibet’s third birthday.

Lilibet, who is thought to have only visited the UK once, is celebrating her third birthday today, June 4.

However, in celebration of her first birthday two years ago, a friend of Meghan’s previously said that it was “shady” of Kate to miss out on her niece’s special day.

Garcelle Beauvais, a star on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, previously shared her thoughts on Kate’s absence from Lilibet’s birthday.

Speaking to E!, Ms Beauvais said: “What’s going on is, ‘What a coincidence, we’re out of town, I’m washing my hair’. There’s a little shade there.”

The criticism came after both William and Kate missed the celebrations, even though the pair were overseeing concert rehearsals at Cardiff Castle to mark the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at the time.

The actress, after being asked if they could have been powerless to work against the pre-ordained schedule, hit back: “No. They can’t hold back the flight a couple of hours to meet Lilibet and Archie?”

Lilibet is thought to have travelled to the UK a few days before her first birthday for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Harry and Meghan made the decision to bring along their two children – including now-five-year-old son Archie – to join in the celebrations.

Although Meghan and Harry were seen at a few celebrations to mark the late Queen’s historic anniversary, Archie and Lilibet didn’t make any public appearances

To mark their daughter’s birthday, Meghan and Harry are thought to have hosted a small gathering at their former UK base, Frogmore Cottage.

Kate and William’s three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 – also didn’t appear at their cousin’s party. King Charles and Queen Camilla also did not attend Lilibet’s first birthday celebrations.

Following Lilibet’s birthday, a picture of the adorable tot was publicly released – one that was thought to have been taken at her party in the UK.

According to PEOPLE!, Meghan and Harry hosted a party at their Californian mansion over the weekend to mark Lilibet’s third birthday.

Why Prince Harry Sought Kate Middleton’s Approval Before Marrying Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton appear to have become closer in the last couple months, doing their first event together 11 days ago at Wimbledon. But royal reporter Katie Nicholl just revealed new details to Grazia UK on the two’s growing friendship and how before Prince Harry put a ring on it, Meghan was Kate Middleton-approved.

The two first met in November 2016, four months after Harry started dating Meghan and when he realized that things were getting serious with her. The first meeting was a “success.”

“Harry and Kate are very close, she’s been like a mentor to him and he wanted her seal of approval,” a source told Nicholl. “Kate is different to Meghan in many ways, but she has made great strides to help Meghan settle in.”

Nicholl previously reported that Kate had played matchmaker for Harry during his bachelor days. “Harry wasn’t giving up [after things ended with exes Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas], even going on blind dates organized by Kate and his cousin Princess Eugenie, who had a good track record when it came to setting Harry up,” she wrote (via E!).

Nicholl’s source described Kate and Meghan’s friendship these day as “still slowly blossoming. Kate has gone out of her way to be friendly to Meghan, and Meghan has been very grateful for that.”

Kate doesn’t feel threatened by Meghan joining the family or her popularity at events. As Nicholl writes, “Friends say that she is thrilled that the spotlight isn’t on her at a time when she wants to enjoy being with her family and remain relatively low-key.”

Princess Sophie could be in for a new honour from King Charles for her ungrudging contributions to the throne.

According to royal historian, Marlene Koenig, the 75-year-old monarch could confer the Duchess of Edinburgh the honour of a Lady of the Garter in the coming months. The presumptions comes after it was revealed Charles has named four new additions to the Order of the Garter.

King Charles III breaks the royal traditions by honouring Princess Sophie

Among the four will be Brigitte, the Duchess of Gloucester, the wife of Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester, whom Koenig revealed is the “first spouse of a royal prince in modern times to be given the Garter.”

“I think it’s way cool that Charles has made this change, giving this to someone who has served the crown, and she and her husband were never meant to have a full-time royal career,” she told the Daily Express.

At the end, Marlene noted: “This is another new change the king has implemented, and I think we’ll see more of that in another few years.”

According to the royal historian, the late Queen Elizabeth initially wanted her daughter Princess Anne to be a Lady of the Garter, however, the Princess Royal “wanted to be a Knight of the Garter.”

For the unversed, the Order of the Garter is the oldest order of Chivalry in the UK, which goes back to Edward III.

George Clooney says he hopes for “kinder” treatment towards the Duchess of Sussex now she has become a mother.

The US actor, 58, has previously complained that Meghan was being “pursued and vilified” and compared her treatment to that of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Speaking at the Catch-22 premiere about media scrutiny of Meghan and Harry, he told the Associated Press: “I think it’ll (becoming parents) intensify it, of course.

“But it’s never about the media following you around, because that, in part, if you’re a royal, that’s part of what you have to do.

“It’s the other versions of it – going to interview people’s parents, that kind of stuff.”

“It starts to step into a really dark place,” said Clooney, who has denied he will be a godfather to the baby.

“It’s just, sort of, the press turned on them. I think people should be a little kinder. She’s a young woman who just had a baby.”

The Clooneys have holidayed with the Sussexes in Italy and were also at their wedding. Amal Clooney also attended Meghan’s luxury baby shower.

Hollywood star Clooney also joked to Entertainment Tonight about sharing a birthday with the young royal.

“I was a little irritated because that kid really is stealing my thunder!,” he said.

The actor gushed about his international human rights lawyer wife, following the release of two Reuters journalists in Burma after they were imprisoned over reporting on security forces’ abuses of Rohingya Muslims.

“My wife spent the last year, every day… working, as hard as you could work, behind the scenes, to get these guys out,” the father of twins said.

“And last night for my birthday, at my birthday dinner, those two men (Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo) walked out. And I have to tell you, I couldn’t be more proud of my wife,” he told the Associated Press.

“It’s a dangerous time, you know. It’s a dangerous time to be a journalist.”

Clooney stars in, produced and partially directed the TV adaptation of Joseph Heller’s novel.

The six-episode mini-series will air on Channel 4 in the UK.

It took Prince Harry a long time to come to terms with his mother Princess Diana’s unexpected death. In his candid memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex talked about his struggles following tragic events.

When Prince Harry Emotionally Recalled Seeing His Mother in Dreams: "Mummy, Mummy, is that you?"

In an exclusive interview with his friend, the British journalist Tom Bradby, for ITV in January 2023, he disclosed that he had dreams in which he called out his mother’s name.

As per The UK Mirror, the Duke revealed how his mother’s death caused him to lose memories. “I lost a lot of memories. on the other side of this mental wall, which I think is so relatable for so many people who’ve experienced loss, especially as a youngster, that inability to be able to drag the memories back over,” he shared.

“I think a lot of it was a defense mechanism.” Prince Harry, who claimed to have PTSD, alleged he frequently saw his mother in dreams. “I mean, like, you talk about seeing her in your dreams and saying, “‘Mummy, Mummy, is that you?’” He recalled, “I refer to it as post-traumatic stress injury because I’m not a person with a disorder. I know I’m not.”

“I mean, it, it, it’s a haunting description of really, post-traumatic stress disorder really, isn’t it?” Bradby then asked the Duke, “I mean, that’s what, that’s what the whole early part of this book is.”

As per ETOnline, Prince Harry stated that he still feels the need to ‘find answers’ to his mother’s death. “There’s a lot of things that are unexplained. I’ve been asked before whether I want to open up another inquiry. I don’t really see the point at this stage,” he said.

“But I think anyone who knows — again, this is the most amazing thing that, of over the last, what, five years, especially the last two years, the amount of people that I’ve met here in America, everyone knows where they were and what they were doing the night my mother died. And I never thought about that at all.”

Prince Harry said he found it “very strange” that following his mother’s passing, he and his brother, Prince William, went about Kensington Palace in the company of mourners feeling some ‘guilt’. “Everyone thought and felt like they knew our mum. And the two closest people to her, the two most-loved people by her, were unable to show any emotion in that moment,” he shared.

Prince William has been appointed for key role in upcoming palace event

Prince William is ought to cut a lonely figure at upcoming state visit from Japanese monarchs later this month.

According to a new announcement from Buckingham Palace, the Prince of Wales will undertake key role of welcoming Emperor Naruhito, 64, and Empress Masako, 60, at their hotel on June 25.

However, he will surely miss his wife Kate Middleton, with whom he welcomed the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, and his wife, First Lady Kim Keon Hee, for the state visit in November 2023.

The royal pair are due to arrive in England on June 22 and conduct a series of private engagements before being hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

They will eventually depart the country on June 27.

The latest announcement comes following a delay in royal duties due to upcoming elections in the UK on July 4.

According to the palace officials last month, royals pulled the brakes on their outings to avoid diverting attention or distracting from the election campaign.

Kate Middleton, who has already been on a break from royal duties due to a series of health scares since the beginning of this year, is expected to steer clear of public eye until later this year.

Prince Harry’s memoir reportedly reveals Prince William’s four-word response upon learning of Meghan Markle’s pregnancy.

Meghan’s pregnancy with their first son, Archie, was announced in late 2018, a few months after the couple’s Windsor wedding. Harry reportedly discloses in his book Spare that the couple shared their joyous pregnancy news at Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018.

The memoir is also said to reveal William’s reaction when he learned he was going to be an uncle, reports the Mirror. Hello! Magazine reports Harry told his brother the news during a reception at Windsor Castle, and William responded exactly as Harry had expected, saying “we must tell Kate”.

The book also reportedly claims King Charles was thrilled to learn he would become a grandfather for the fourth time.

Other revelations in Harry’s memoir include his admission he ate a Nando’s meal brought to the hospital by his bodyguards while Meghan was in labour with Archie.

He also reportedly shares details about delivering Lilibet, her first meeting with the Queen, and how the late monarch was delighted by Archie’s attempt at a Royal bow.

Meghan welcomed Archie to the world in May 2019 at London’s private Portland Hospital, breaking Royal tradition by choosing not to participate in the customary ‘hospital steps’ photo session.

Prince Harry unexpectedly addressed the media outside Windsor Castle following Archie’s birth, lavishing praise on his wife. He said: “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy.

“I haven’t been at many births. This is definitely my first birth – it was amazing, absolutely incredible.”

He added: “I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. And as every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing.”

According to the Daily Mail, he said: “Kate’s amazing… I’d love to dress her in one of my dresses. I’ve got a great relationship with Camilla, the Queen. She’s incredible.”

After being asked if he would like to see Meghan in one of his designs, he promptly said: “No, I prefer Kate and Camilla.”

The Princess of Wales will probably “not appear in public for the rest of the year,” and is being “surrounded” by her birth family as she continues a course of preventive chemotherapy having been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, royal sources and friends of Kate Middleton and Prince William have told The Daily Beast.

Kate and her family are expected to spend next week, which is a school holiday, at her and William’s country home on the Sandringham Estate. Her parents, to whom she is close, are thought likely to visit.

William is expected to devote even more time to his family over the next six weeks having been unexpectedly gifted time off after the royal family said they would be stepping back from some engagements to avoid distracting from a snap U.K. general election called this week and due to take place on July 4.Godawful Pic of Kate Middleton Gives Art Critics the Chills

One source said they do not expect to see Kate back in any kind of public-facing role in the medium term, adding it was possible she would remain absent from public life for the rest of the year.

The source said: “Lots of people involved in planning need to know what all the principals are doing a long way in advance. I am told that Kate’s diary for this year is empty. There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year.”

(The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden reported Thursday that Kate’s friends have told him “we might not see Catherine again until the autumn—and only then if she has recovered fully.”)

Asked how the Palace would deal with the inevitable resurgence of conspiracy theories and speculation that a protracted absence would provoke, The Daily Beast’s source said: “I would not rule out another video message updating the country on her health. That proved to be a very effective way of keeping the conspiracy theorists at bay.”

A friend of Kate and William told The Daily Beast: “The key thing for her now is avoiding any kind of stress or anxiety and just getting on with the business of getting better. They will bail out and be off to Sandringham the moment school breaks up.”

Catherine, Princess of Wales, appears in this still image from a handout video released March 22, 2024, in which she announced that she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found to have been present, following abdominal surgery.

The friend said that Kate has preferred to lean on and confide in her family rather than her and William’s circle of friends, many of whom will be at the Duke of Westminster’s wedding next month (along with her husband, who is best man).

They said: “The circle of trust is tiny. She has been surrounded by Carole and Michael, and (sister) Pippa and (brother) James have obviously been there for her as well. They are an incredibly tight family, and Catherine feels absolutely confident relying on them. They have been there for her for decades and never let her down.”

It is now five months since Kate was last seen in public, and the Palace may indeed deem it necessary to give another update—whether via video or a more traditional statement—if Kate really is going to remain unseen for many more months to come.

Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis in a video message released March 22, saying she had initially thought her condition was non-cancerous, but discovered the truth after successful abdominal surgery in January and subsequent tests which revealed cancer—as yet of an unspecified kind—was present.

Kate said she was in the early stages of having preventive chemotherapy, which began in late February, and said she had needed to take time to explain her condition to her three children. It had been “an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful,” Kate said.

Kensington Palace said Kate was on a “recovery pathway”; the princess herself said she was well “and getting stronger every day.”

“Please do not lose faith or hope, you are not alone,” Kate said, directly addressing fellow cancer sufferers.

There is no doubt her office is certainly managing expectations downwards when it comes to the question of her return to work.

Just this week, for example, her team clearly implied that she was not working from home when it announced the publication of a report commissioned by her Early Childhood initiative into how large businesses can better support the early childhoods of their staff’s children.

While making clear she had read the report and been kept updated on it, and that her office was on top of things, the statement carefully avoided any suggestion she was spending her days sitting up in bed with a computer. A source described as a “senior royal aide” went further when it came to explicitly downplaying any suggestions she had an ongoing daily workload, telling the Mail: “She will return to work when she has had the green light from doctors.”

Her office declined to comment to The Daily Beast on when Kate would next be seen in public or if she was working at home, but one courtier said: “The Princess is continuing her recovery at home. She continues to need the space and time to prioritize her privacy, as she said in her video.”

There will certainly be a focus on family time next week, with her children’s school on recess for “half term,” a one-week holiday from school.

“There have been rumors she has done drop-off, but I haven’t seen her since the video. We all feel very protective of her.”
    — Fellow school parent
Kate and William are expected to “bail out” of their Windsor home on Friday, one friend said.

They are likely to spend the short holiday at the family’s country house, Anmer Hall, on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where there is plenty of room for her mother and father (Carole and Michael Middleton) to stay, and privacy is easy to enforce thanks to a protective local community, many of whom are either friends with or work for the royals in some capacity.

Kate and the children fled to Anmer in March when school broke up for the Easter vacation. Just hours after arriving there Kate released her unprecedented (pre-recorded) video in which she revealed she had cancer. The couple had deliberately delayed releasing the news until the school holidays had started to protect their children from unwelcome attention in the schoolyard.

The Daily Beast has been told by fellow parents at the smart private school which Kate’s children attend that she has not been seen at the sports matches and the other school events she and her husband usually attend. However, she is understood to have done occasional school runs, one parent said, but while keeping a low profile.

“There have been rumors she has done drop-off, but I haven’t seen her since the video,” said one. “We all feel very protective of her. Ask anyone at the school—they are amazing parents.”

Meghan Markle’s ‘sadness’ over daughter Lilibet’s third birthday as milestone has her and Harry ‘thinking about their future’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will celebrate their daughter Lilibet’s third birthday this week, but the duchess is reportedly feeling “sad” over the milestone.

Lilibet will turn three on June 4. Harry and Meghan recently spent a bit of time away from their two children – Archie, five, and Lilibet – as they travelled to Nigeria for a mini tour.

Now, an insider claims that the Duchess of Sussex “doesn’t like being away from her children”. They claim she and Harry are thinking about how quickly their kids are growing up.

The source told OK!: “Meghan doesn’t like being away from her children as she doesn’t want to miss a thing with them growing up so fast. With Lili turning three, it’s really got Meghan and Harry thinking about their future and how quickly the children are growing up.

“Meghan especially feels that her babies are no longer babies and like most mums, it makes her slightly sad and wistful that the baby years have come to an end.”

ED! has contacted reps for Meghan and Harry for comment.

During their trip to Nigeria in May, Meghan admitted she was missing her kids. She was marking Mother’s Day during a reception.

Addressing an audience at a Lagos state reception, she said: “Today is Mother’s Day (in America). So it feels appropriate that although of course we are missing our children, I’m missing my babies, it feels very appropriate to be in the motherland and amongst family.”

He said: “Archie loves the idea that his grandad lives in a castle and Meghan was worried that a magnificent shepherd’s hut or similar extravagant present will only increase Archie’s growing interest in his royal connections. She doesn’t want Britain to become a longed-for fantasy for her son so she had been pushing Harry to insist that his father gets Archie a simple present.”

The expert added: “King Charles hasn’t seen his grandson Archie since 2022 and Archie really misses him many of Archie’s books are about kings, princesses and castles and he knows enough to know that his grandfather lives in a castle. He is apparently desperate to come to the UK with his father, but Meghan and Harry don’t want to encourage this.”
