The socialite and TV personality, 70, bitterly blasts the former actress, 38, as an “operator”.

The book, titled Meghan and Harry: The Real Story, also claims the Duchess of Sussex has ambitions to run for President of the United States.

A rather unflattering excerpt from the book says: “Meghan’s whole life is an act” and claims Harry “was desperate to meet someone”… “he’s not the swiftest”… “he’s a prop” and “pathetic.”

Lady Colin adds of Meghan: “This person is no more suited to royal life than Angelina Jolie would be to competitive boxing.

“She has inflated herself beyond natural entitlement. Since she always wanted to be a star, she has this propensity for exaggeration.

“As for Harry, he should have been instructive. This nonsense that she didn’t at first know so much about him… I mean, please.

The controversial book also claims the “royal rift” between the Sussexes and the family began just four days after the royal wedding, at Prince Charles’ 70th birthday garden party.

Lady Colin told the Daily Star: “I knew the tremendous amount of hope the Royal Family invested in Meghan being a success.

“Hundreds of millions of people of colour were rooting for Meghan, I was rooting for Meghan, being a Jamaican, I was emotionally invested in Meghan’s success.

“Virtually everybody I know, including my Royal friends, the wider aristocracy, wanted Meghan to be a success.

“But it quickly became apparent the ride may not be as smooth as everybody had hoped it would be, and it would not be quite as positive as everybody had hoped it would be.”

When asked what occured at the garden party, Lady Colin teased: “I can’t repeat it exactly, it’s in the book, but what I can say is, something happened at the very first garden party at Buckingham Palace.”

As reported by Page Six, Lady Campbell, who is best known for her 1992 book, Diana in Private: The Princess Nobody and for being on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, said she has experienced a lot of scandals in her circles.

She revealed: “I know the lot. The royals. The courtiers. They’re friends.

“I’ve attended their parties. Been to their homes.

“And I’ve taken care to be positive and even handed, although Meghan’s thrown the whole British family under the bus.”

Publisher Dynasty Press said in a statement: “The fall from popular grace of the previously adulated brother of the heir to the British throne as a consequence of his marriage to a beautiful and dynamic Hollywood starlet of colour makes for fascinating reading in bestselling royal author Lady Colin Campbell’s balanced account.”

The book is due to be published on June 25.

Prince Harry has been told to “pay for his own security” by Royal Biographer Angela Levin, following his appeal over his arrangements when in the UK.

The Duke has been granted an appeal by the courts after claiming that he is “unable to bring his wife Meghan or their two children due to safety concerns”.

Speaking to GB News, Levin hit out at the royal’s “arrogance” over the ongoing court battle after it was also claimed Harry had “tried to jump the queue” to get the appeal heard sooner.

Lord Justice Bean had told the Prince he is “not entitled to jump the queue because of his status”.

Discussing reports that the request to have the appeal heard sooner is due to a “planned world tour” by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Levin said he is “not well enough in the VIP group to go ahead of everybody else”.

She claimed it would be “arrogant” of Harry to “go around the world on taxpayer money”.

She continued: “I think that this country will go absolutely mad if they use our taxpayers’ money to go around the world.”

Sharing her predictions for the locations of the reported world tour, Levin claimed that the couple may spend a lot of time “in Africa”, following the success of their Nigeria visit.

However, she argued that the British public would be “very annoyed” if they used Prince Harry’s level of protection around the world, if it is granted to him

Levin fumed: “I can’t see how you can keep on going back again and again and again, but he’s very determined. He’s absolutely determined.”

In disagreement with Levin, Mark argued that Harry “is the King’s son” and needing the level of security he requires was “not a choice he’s made”, but it is his birthright.

Mark pressed Levin, asking: “Doesn’t he deserve the best protection? How would we feel as a country if, God forbid, something happened to Harry?”

Levin hit back, claiming: “If he comes for anything to do with the Royal Family, he has the best protection. If he comes to see friends or to do something that’s got nothing to do with the royals, he has grade two or grade three.

“If you step down from being a royal, you can’t expect the same sort of attention that you get if you’re not, and you can’t actually control it.”

Meghan Markle would be “happier not having to come back” to the United Kingdom after experiencing major popularity issues, according to a PR expert.

The Duchess of Sussex was last in the country in September 2022, when what was supposed to be a short visit with Prince Harry was extended following the death of the late Queen.

 

The Duke returned to London on Tuesday, May 7, before a special ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games but Meghan chose not to accompany him.

PR expert Renae Wąsik suggested Harry might have wanted to avoid leaving Meghan to cope with the media attention while he was busy working.

She noted Meghan’s return would have likely caused a stir because of past comments she made about her relationship with the country, potentially distracting from the Invictus celebrations.

Asked whether Harry was right to return without Meghan, she told the Daily Express: “On Harry returning without Meghan, it absolutely makes sense if he’s astronomically busy (which we are being led to believe is the case).

“Leaving her alone in a country that’s been hostile to her could stir unnecessary media distractions and conflict – distracting from his work.”

The Atticism PR founder added: “It’s probably better avoided and I’m sure she’s happier not having to come back, given her comments on England in the past.”

Sources close to the Duchess of Sussex claimed in the past that “she never felt at home” in the UK and she admitted to struggling with the demands of royal life.

During an interview with The Cut in 2022, Meghan also lamented the media attention that she and her children would have to cope with if they still lived in the UK.

The Duchess also had some negative experiences with the public as she experienced heavy booing when she joined the Royal Family at St. Paul’s Cathedral during the celebrations for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Commentator Hilary Fordwich told the Daily Express: “When they were booed leaving St Paul’s Cathedral… she is an accomplished actress, but it was tough for her to hold a smile.

“You could see the grimace. She won’t want to put herself through that again.”

Meghan will be reunited with Prince Harry later this week as she joins him in Nigeria for a brief visit to promote the work of the Invictus Games.

Meghan and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royal members at the beginning of last year, they have since moved across to Los Angeles where they are permanently residing with their two children Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, two, and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Since then the couple has discussed the difficulties they faced while being active working members of the monarchy, particularly during their landmark interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March.

Lady Colin has previously spoken on Meghan and Prince Harry’s claim that a member of the Royal Family made a remark on Archie’s skin colour.

She insisted the Royal Family are in no way racist and said there were “no concerns” over Meghan’s biracial heritage, but she claimed Princess Anne in particular was “gravely concerned” over the Duchess Of Sussex’s suitability for the role.

Princess Lilibet would not be considered a US citizenship if Meghan Markle had the same visa as Prince Harry in a “very unusual exception to the rule”, an American immigration lawyer has said.

Melissa Chavin, who works for the Chavin Immigration Law Office, joined GB News’ Digital Royal Editor Svar Nanan-Sen and Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker on this week’s episode of The Royal Record podcast.

 

Chavin explained a scenario involving the young princess in light of Prince Harry entering the US on an A1 Head of State visa.

Svar said: “You mentioned earlier that although Prince Harry has a head of state A1 visa, due to Meghan Markle being a US citizen, both Archie and Lilibet will be able to qualify as US citizens.”

Going into more detail, Chavin said: “Lilibet is a very interesting case because she was born in the United States.

“If Meghan Markle wasn’t a US citizen and if she had an A1 head of state spousal visa, then Lilibet would be this very unusual exception to the rule that anyone born in the United States is a US citizen.

“It’s a funny thing to think about.”

The Duke of Sussex’s US visa documents are at the centre of a court battle, since he admitted to taking illegal drugs in the UK and America in his memoir Spare.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married in 2018 and resided in England until 2020. The couple then decided to step down from their roles as senior working royals before moving from their home in Windsor to a mansion in California, America.

Since moving across the pond, the couple has rarely returned to the United Kingdom, and Meghan was last seen at the late Queen’s funeral in 2022. And now it has been claimed that Meghan is only prepared to come back to the UK if she and Harry have a place of their own to stay, and if they have the appropriate security.

Royal author and expert Tom Quinn has spoken exclusively to The Mirror: “Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential. Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband‘s relatives.

“If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK but it’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis.”

This comes after Harry won the right to take his case to the Appeal Court against the High Court’s decision that the level of protection he and his family receive in Britain is reasonable.

The Sussexes lost full taxpayer-funded police protection when they stepped down as senior working royals back in 2020. And just last June, the couple were also evicted from Frogmore Cottage, leaving them without residence in the United Kingdom.

The Mirror has contacted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s representatives for comment.

“If they lost this contract, with Archewell, their business and charitable foundation, having so few donors, they might well be in financial trouble. Since their exposure of royal life has made megabucks, but little else has made money, the royal family better hope that this unpredictable and ruthlessly ambitious couple stays with Netflix.”

King Charles was urged to make the Princess of Wales a Lady of the Order of the Garter because she “deserves it” as the Royal Family prepare themselves for a very busy royal week.

The pomp and pageantry will kick off this Saturday, June 15, when the nation will celebrate King Charles’s second Trooping the Colour.

Following that, there will be seven days of engagements for the most senior royals, complete with Royal Ascot and the Order of the Garter ceremony.

The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain that can be given by a monarch.

In light of this and next week’s engagements, former royal butler Paul Burrell touched down on why he believes the monarch rewards his “favourites” and the reason why there is “nepotism” in the Royal Family as the King “showers the people around him”.

Mr Burrell also called for the service to be “fair” with many “unsung heroes” in Britain who should be “elevated and celebrated” for their work.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, he said: “I wanted the King to invest [Princess] Kate into the Order of the Garter, but he hasn’t done it.

“I’m hoping that the King will invest Kate in the most noble order. I’m hoping he’s going to do that, if he does it will make headlines, she deserves it.

“She’s our future queen, she’s a Princess of Wales, it’s time for her to become a Lady member of the Garter.”

The former royal butler claimed Charles “showers” the people around him with royal titles and gifts as he wants to “be loved” and “reward them for their service to him and the country”.

She says: “The way they have made their marriage work as a partnership for the good, not only of this country, but of the Commonwealth and some would say of the world.

“I focus very much on the realities of their lives and what the realities are all about.

“Of course, one also has to examine rumours and deal with speculation but I’m very fortunate in that I know people very close to them.

“You know, friends of mine for nearly 50 years are very close friends of various of the participants, so I know exactly what has really gone on.”

Lady C deflects a question over whether the book will provide comfortable reading for the Queen, but tellingly says: “I think it will provide insight for the public to see exactly what has gone on, why it has gone on and to what extent it has worked well for all parties involved.”

The socialite author says she has not been influenced by the portrayal of Prince Philip as a love rat in Netflix series, The Crown, which she slams as “complete fiction”.

She says: “It contains so many howlers. So much is fabulous theatre but completely fictionalised, it’s untrue. It bears no relationship to the truth.”

And Lady C says she has “never had any pressure from the Palace” to tone down her revelations.

She explains: “What I have written stands the test of time and if it’s going to come out it may as well come out through somebody who is even-handed and balanced, and has no anti-Monarchist agenda.”

Whether the royals agree when they hear her revelations is another matter.

In fact, this week we witnessed some of the contestants claim they were NOT compatible with Alex because he is intelligent and they’re not.

This was said with a sense of pride, rather than embarrassment.

Even more depressing was Essex glamour model Megan Barton Hanson’s decision to pick ridiculous faux hippie Eyal Booker instead of Alex.

She soon regretted it, but went on to snog the model, spurning the doctor.

Socialite Lady Colin Campbell has hit out at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the couple issued a statement on the atrocities in Israel.

The couple used their Archewell Foundation charity to condemn the violence in Israel and point out their own efforts to “support partners and organisations on the frontlines in Israel”.

 

Speaking on GB News, Lady C said the couple are not in a position to issue a statement on the matter, unlike frontline royal figures like Prince William and King Charles.

She added that the statement only served to give off the impression that the Sussexes are looking to promote their own image.
