Princess Kate’s brother James Middleton sends touching message after cancer update

Princess Kate’s brother, James Middleton, took to social media to support his big sister.

The Princess of Wales’s younger brother, James Middleton, has shared a heartfelt message on social media following his sister’s latest update on her health.

Princess Kate issued a written statement on Friday evening confirming her attendance at the monarch’s birthday parade, while she also gave an update on her ongoing treatment as well as her overall health, months after she first announced she had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.

Kate is currently going through preventative chemotherapy and said her treatment will be ongoing for a few more months.

She said: “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal.”

The royal’s message along with a new photograph released by Kensington Palace were posted on her and Prince William’s social media accounts.

James, who is active on social media, particularly Instagram, commented on his sister’s post with a heart emoji right below her announcement, in a huge sign of support for Kate’s ongoing battle.

The Princess of Wales confirmed she will attend the celebrations on Saturday for King Charles’s birthday parade and also hinted at more public appearances in the summer, health permitting.

She wrote: “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.”

An eyebrow-raising video of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during the 2019 event shows the Prince instructing his wife on royal protocol.

Meghan Markle appears to be ‘told off’ by Harry in 2019

During Trooping the Colour 2019, Meghan Markle was observed having a brief and seemingly tense exchange with Prince Harry on the Buckingham Palace balcony while celebration events took place for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday.

It appears that Prince Harry was reminding his wife of the upcoming anthem to ensure she was prepared and facing the right direction by telling her to “turn around” twice, when she tried to turn her back on the crowds below. For Harry, maintaining protocol and smooth public appearances were taught from a young age.

The video gained huge traction on social media and has recently resurfaced as the Royal Family prepares for Trooping the Colour 2024 to mark King Charles’s official birthday on Saturday, June 15.

Footage shows the Sussexes are on the balcony during Trooping the Colour 2019 and Meghan Markle could be seen turning around to chat with her husband, just before the National Anthem was played.

As the National Anthem began playing Harry could be seen telling Meghan to “turn around” when she tried to engage with her husband and initiate a conversation.

The Duchess appeared to look quite upset when this interaction happened but much has been read into the interaction over the years, with some saying Harry was merely trying to look out for his wife, who may have been unaccustomed to the protocol.

Judi James, a professional body language expert, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk at the time to explain how Meghan may have been feeling at this moment.

She said: “It’s easy to forget how much pressure Meghan might have felt herself to be under, coming from the US which has no Royal Family, and immersing herself in both her husband’s family and the more formal side of his lifestyle.

“So events like the Trooping of the Colour might have even come as a bit of a shock to a woman who claims to have initially had little knowledge of skills like the curtsey.”

Judi added: “Her [Meghan Markle’s] blink rate does seem to have speeded though, which is a gesture that can hint at either some upset or irritation.”

The Duchess of Sussex’s second appearance at Trooping the Colour was her first public appearance since the birth of her son Archie, attending the late Queen’s birthday parade alongside the rest of the Royal Family.

As they are no longer working royals, Meghan and Harry will not be attending Trooping the Colour this year. The King’s Birthday Parade, scheduled for Saturday, June 15, will kick off at 10:20am.

Charles’s actual birthday is on November 14, but it is tradition for the reigning monarch to have an unofficial birthday in June, so the entire nation can join in the celebration.

One royal commentator, Kinsey Schofield, believes the couple might decide to choose the day to hit headlines so they are not sidelined. Ms Schofield, To Di For Daily host, said: “I would not be surprised if we saw American Rivera Orchard launch a product around Trooping the Colour.”

Meghan first launched her lifestyle brand on March 14, but there has since been a lull in brand activity. She then resurfaced at the end of April, giving out handmade jams to 50 friends and influencers to share via social media.

Princess Kate gave a major health update on Friday that included a heartwarming 12-word tribute to all the Royal Family fans who have been wishing her well.

The Princess of Wales said she has “been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement” she’s received since she announced her cancer diagnosis in March.

In a heartfelt statement, Princess Kate said: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.”

The Princess is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year following unrelated abdominal surgery.

She continued: “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.

“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.

She continued: “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal.

“Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be considering a move back to the UK, as suggested by a former royal butler. The couple, who famously stepped away from royal duties in 2020 to establish a more private life in California, have only made a few trips back to Britain since their departure. However, speculation is mounting that they could be eyeing a more permanent return. Despite their limited visits, both Harry and Meghan were present for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which coincided with Lilibet's first birthday. Last year saw Prince Harry attending King Charles' historic coronation at Westminster Abbey solo, as Meghan remained in the US due to the event clashing with Archie's fourth birthday. The Duke of Sussex made a swift return to their Montecito residence after briefly participating in the ceremony. He then made two short dashes over to the UK this year - one in the wake of the announcement of King Charles' cancer diagnosis, and another last month for an Invictus Games event. An ex-royal butler previously hinted that the Sussexes were contemplating a more lasting stay in the UK, with potential plans to purchase property, following their eviction from their Frogmore Cottage base on the Windsor Estate last summer. Grant Harrold, a former butler to King Charles, told the New York Post:

Grant Harrold, a former butler to King Charles, told the New York Post: “I’d never say never, it’s always possible that one day he might want to come home, it’s possible that he might buy [a property] here if he wanted to come over [more] and Meghan didn’t want to come over.

“Meghan doesn’t really have any family here as such, all her family are in the States and that’s where Harry has decided he wants to set up his home.”

Grant, who spoke for Oddspedia, comprehends the difficulty Prince Harry may have in completely leaving behind his British roots: “He’ll want to have that association with Britain just in case one day he does want to come back and I don’t think Harry will want to sever ties.”

However, Grant did acknowledge that Prince Harry seems “happy in the States” and noted that a return to the UK wouldn’t be imminent, although he clarified it could be “very possible” in the future.

Royal news – live: Kate ‘sets date for return’ as Meghan reveals pain at ‘cruel’ pregnancy comments

Kate Middleton is “doing her best” to return to royal duties after Easter, a royal expert has claimed. Ingrid Seward, editor in chief of Majesty Magazine, addressed concerns that the Princess of Wales has not been seen in public since her abdominal surgery in January.

She told The Mirror: “The Princess is obviously doing her best behind the scenes to get fit and healthy so she is ready to face the publicity which will surround her return to public engagements after Easter.”

Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment. The remarks came as Meghan Markle spoke out against the “toxicity” of social media as she revealed she faced online abuse while pregnant.

During a keynote speech at South by Southwest (SXSW) festival to mark International Women’s Day on Friday, the Duchess of Sussex recalled the “cruel” comments aimed at her while carrying her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

On the comments she faced, the duchess said: “You just think about that, and have to really wrap your head around why people would be so hateful. It’s not catty, it’s cruel.”

Although the royal family were reportedly hurt and blindsided when Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan Markle, 41, shockingly announced that they would be stepping down as working royals in January 2020, rumor has it that King Charles never actually wanted Meghan to be a working royal in the first place, and actually wanted her to “carry on working” as an actress. Wow!

Prince Harry Said His Father Never Wanted Meghan Markle To Become A Working Royal

The unexpected revelation came from the Duke of Sussex himself, when recalling a conversation he had with his father about Meghan’s future in the royal family in his bombshell memoir, Spare.

When recalling a conversation he and his father had, King Charles reportedly asked his son, “Does she want to carry on working?” to which Prince Harry replied, “Say again?” King Charles then reportedly replied, “Does she want to keep on acting?” which led Prince Harry to say, “Oh. I mean, I don’t know. I wouldn’t think so. I expect she’ll want to be with me, doing the job, you know, which would rule out Suits… since they film in… Toronto.”

King Charles then allegedly said, “Hmm. I see. Well, darling boy, you know there’s not enough money to go around.” Prince Harry then wrote in his memoir that he “stared” at his father after he said this, and then thought, “What was he banging on about? He explained. Or tried to. ‘I can’t pay for anyone else. I’m already having to pay for your brother and Catherine.’”

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Still Expected To Attend King Charles’ Coronation In May

Despite all the confessions in Spare and in the Netflix Harry & Meghan docuseries which aired in December last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are still currently expected to attend King Charles’ coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6th, which also happens to be their son Archie’s fourth birthday, even though many royal experts have warned that their attendance could be a distraction.

A royal insider reportedly told the Daily Mail that the Sussexes will “definitely” be at the coronation, but should not expect any apologies or reconciliation talks. “Members of the family have told me that both Harry and Meghan will definitely come. They fully expect that,” the insider said, adding, “And they should realize that there is only one subject that many members of the royal family will be willing to discuss… and that’s the weather.”

Another insider previously told The Independent that Prince Harry and Meghan would of course be invited, but noted that “it would be very hard” for them to be there “given everything that has been said.” Another source told The Mirror that Prince Harry doesn’t want to get on a plane to the U.K. until he has a summit with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William.

“Harry has been very clear and his position hasn’t wavered – he isn’t going to come if he feels the atmosphere will be as toxic as it was during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and funeral,” the source said. “He’s said he wants to reconcile with his family and it’s their call, but so far nothing has changed.”

  • Prince Harry makes shocking move to rush UK security case

Prince Harry makes shocking move to rush UK security case

Prince Harry reportedly made a shocking demand to High Court judge in Britain after his appeal for Home Office security was allowed to go through.

    Background

In February 2020, the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) decided to withdraw Prince Harry’s right to automatic security. The move sparked controversy and legal battles that have dragged on for two-and-a-half years. Seeking a judicial review, Prince Harry comprehensively lost the case in September 2021. While most of his grounds of appeal were rejected, Lord Justice Bean acknowledged that one ground had a real prospect of success.

Prince Harry denied permission to 'jump the queue' in security appeal

    The Appeal

Prince Harry’s legal team will now proceed with the appeal, which aims to address the fairness and lawful application of Ravec’s own rules regarding security decisions. Despite the ongoing litigation, Prince Harry remains committed to ensuring equal consideration as others in accordance with Ravec’s policy.

Request to expedite the appeal and behind-the-scene motives

Royal author and commentator Angela Levin claimed Harry appealed the case because he’s “going away with Meghan for a tour, a world tour, which made my heart pump because this is going to be another copy of what the Royal Family is like and he wants to be covered.”

Prince Harry wanted the appeal to be heard by the end of July, in part due to fears that the ruling would influence the approach other countries take to his security.

With the Sussexes understood to be planning multiple overseas tours in the coming months, the Duke argued that the litigation had already dragged on for two-and-a-half years and said his legal team would be busy with other matters from October.

However, while Lord Justice Bean allowed the appeal, he refused the application to expedite proceedings.

The judge noted: “It is rightly not suggested that the claimant is entitled to jump the queue because of his status.”

    Implications

The Court of Appeal’s decision will have significant implications for both Prince Harry and the broader royal family. As the legal battle continues, questions arise about the balance between security protocols and individual rights. The outcome of this appeal could set a precedent for future cases involving high-profile figures.

Prince Harry’s security appeal remains a contentious issue, highlighting the delicate balance between public safety and personal entitlement. As the legal process unfolds, all eyes are on the Court of Appeal to determine whether the prince can indeed “jump the queue” or if he must wait his turn like any other citizen.

Meghan Markle sets ‘key conditions’ for Prince Harry if he returns to the UK

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has reportedly set a “major condition” for her potential return to the United Kingdom. According to Royal expert Tom Quinn, Markle will only consider coming back if she and Prince Harry can secure their own accommodation and a certain level of security.

If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK but it’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis”, reports the Mirror.

Who's who in the British royal family - ABC News

Since stepping down as senior working royals in 2020, the Sussexes lost their full taxpayer-funded police protection and were evicted from Frogmore Cottage, leaving them without a residence in the UK. Markle’s insistence on having their own place and adequate security highlights the challenges they face in balancing their private lives with their royal connections.

The couple’s decision to prioritize security and independence underscores the complexities of their unique situation. If they manage to find a permanent home and address the security issue, it may pave the way for their children, Archie and Lili, to develop a genuine relationship with their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

As the world watches, the delicate negotiations continue, and the question remains: Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry find a way to reconcile their personal desires with their royal responsibilities?

Meghan Markle has a ‘deep source of resentment with Prince Andrew’, the reason behind which has been exposed by the royal family

In a recent development, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has expressed her deep-seated grievances regarding Prince Andrew’s continued presence within the British Royal Family. As she and her husband, Prince Harry, navigate their own complex relationship with the monarchy, Meghan questions why Prince Andrew has not faced the same level of scrutiny and consequences.

Four years ago, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made headlines when they stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family. Their decision not only strained relations with other royals but also raised fundamental questions about the institution itself.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, found himself embroiled in multiple controversies. Most notably, he faced serious allegations of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre claimed that she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and forced to have sexual encounters with the prince when she was just 17. Despite these accusations, Prince Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

In 2022, a New York judge ruled that Prince Andrew would face trial over the sexual assault accusations. As a consequence, Buckingham Palace stripped him of his royal titles. Additionally, he settled a civil sexual assault case in the United States for a reported £12 million, all without admitting guilt.

Meghan Markle's 'deep source of grievance with Prince Andrew' revealed as she skips UK visit

Meghan Markle’s concerns revolve around the stark contrasts in how family members are treated within the Royal Family. Despite their own tumultuous relationship with the monarchy, both she and Prince Harry have faced significant consequences for their decisions. In contrast, Prince Andrew’s status has remained largely unchanged despite the controversies surrounding him.

Royal author Tom Quinn provides further insights into Meghan’s viewpoint. He suggests that she believes Prince Andrew should be “pushed out” due to his “appalling” behavior. However, Andrew’s adherence to the family’s directive to remain silent after his disgrace may not be fully appreciated by Meghan.

In summary, Meghan Markle’s candid remarks underscore the tensions within the monarchy and the delicate balance between tradition and accountability. As the world watches, the fate of Prince Andrew continues to be a subject of intrigue and debate.
