Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard has gifted Kris Jenner one of her limited edition jars of strawberry jam.

The Kardashians star took to Instagram this week to reveal the kind gift from the Duchess of Sussex.

Her jar of jam was number 13 of just 50 sent out to other influential foodies.

The gift hamper included a stunning set of homegrown lemons for her to enjoy.

Finally, a simple white notecard was also included in the gift hamper adorned with Kris’ name in beautiful calligraphy.

Meghan is assumed to have written the notes herself, as she taught calligraphy class while trying to launch her acting career between 2004 and 2005.

She captioned the post with a simple note saying “Thank you @americanrivieraorchard”, adding a lemon and yellow love heart emoji.

However, the soft launch of Meghan’s new lifestyle project has also caused a stir online, with some slamming the new career move.

Her famous pal Chrissy Teigen was the latest subject of backlash after using the jam to make a brie and bacon sandwich with her husband John Legend.

Another person who received the gift was Meghan’s former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, who posed up a storm on Instagram with the jam.

The limited edition preserve is believed to be the first of a full range of products, including more luxury food items and homeware, which will become available on Meghan’s website later in the year.

In the 87-minute video posted on YouTube, he can be seen making fun of the Duchess while sporting a wig and tiara and appearing to push a cushion up his top.

Thomas introduces himself as “Me-again Swamp-donkey Crotch” during the odd mimicry. Notably, “Me-gain” is a cruel nickname which has been widely used by internet trolls for Meghan. “I was just showing off the new bump I bought on eBay out of Montecito,” he added.

Thomas Markle faces flak for ‘grotesque’ video
Responding to the mockery of Meghan, Royal commentator Jennie Bond accused Thomas of betrayal and slammed the “grotesque” video.

“To have your own flesh and blood lead the assault must feel like the ultimate betrayal for Meghan,” Bond told the Daily Mail.

Damian Collins, Conservative MP and ex-tech and the digital economy minister, has urged the internet companies take more stringent measures to counteract “campaigns of harassment and intimidation.”

“They have created systems that have not only allowed conspiracy theories to thrive, but are actively promoted by the recommendation systems designed by these big tech companies,” he said.

While Thomas is said to have not spoken to his half-sister for over ten years, he seems eager to capitalise on his royal connections.

“If you don’t like it, don’t watch, right? I’m gonna be riding those coattails, baby,” he said in the video clip. “Oh, yeah, if it wasn’t for Meghan Markle I don’t know what I’d be doing.”

Thomas, who resides in Grants Pass, Ore. and works as a window fitter, intends to launch a variety of products, such as glass, mug, and T-shirt lines, reported The Mirror.

He has created his own YouTube page where he regularly posts videos and does live streams in which he vents about Meghan and the royal family and even interact with his 36,500 subscribers.

Say what you want about Meghan Markle (narcissistic, self-aggrandising, out-of-touch) but her greatest misstep is one of missed opportunity. Despite the Duchess’s best efforts – her carefully-curated home goods line, that wanna-be state visit to Nigeria, a perfectly-plotted anniversary date night – barely one-third of Americans have a favourable opinion of Markle, far below Princes William, Harry and the Princess of Wales.

Armed with a new podcast deal and refreshed communications team, Markle is clearly continuing her relentless quest for relevance. But as the real royals in Windsor contend with double cancer crises, Markle has revealed herself as little more than the most infamous symbol of America’s high tolerance for low expectations.

No wonder Donald Trump has suggested Prince Harry could face deportation if it turns out the Duke lied about past drug use on his visa application. Harry and Meghan “broke the Queen’s heart,” said Trump during a lengthy interview with Nigel Farage in March. “I think they hurt her bad.”

It didn’t have to be this way. Long before marrying her prince, Markle clearly understood the power of public image and personal achievement. Despite a minor role in a minor television franchise, she managed to parlay her innocuous persona into a fairly impressive celebrity existence. With her crowd-pleasing blog The Tig, Markle was an early embracer of the “lifestyle content” craze that has made rich folk like Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Whiterspoon far richer. And she intelligently deployed her mixed-race heritage into a compelling, competitive-edge narrative just as America was embracing the power of identity politics nearly a decade ago.

For a nation consumed by representation, Markle – unrepentantly divorced and solidly middle class – represented the best of America: tolerant, multicultural, meritocratic. Sure, it’s unlikely she would have ever won an Oscar. But armed with style and that unassailable back-story, Markle was well on her way to securing official “somebody”-status – even if she was most famous in the sleepy confines of Toronto, where her show Suits was filmed.

Well-educated and supremely well-spoken, Markle likes to talk up those mid-level accomplishments and achievements. But ultimately, her greatest accomplishment will forever be becoming a Windsor. Indeed, despite aggressive efforts to rewrite the legacy of Queen Charlotte – whose supposed mixed ancestry has been lavishly conjured in the Bridgerton series – there has never been a multiracial royal. And the last divorcee to marry a senior family member wound up in exile on the continent.

Markle, however, had achieved what many had assumed was impossible, diversifying a thousand year-old institution for whom change typically arrives via assassination or warfare. But six years on, both she and her prince have squandered what could have been a meaningful opportunity. It appears as if the Sussexes’ squandering shows no sign of stopping.

The problem for Markle is that she still believes in the power of her achievements long after she’s stopped achieving. She and Harry’s $100 million Netflix deal has delivered little more than a pair of self-serving biopics. Their equally ambitious Spotify tie-up resulted in lost millions and the couple being branded as “grifters” by one of Spotify’s own execs. As for the Nigeria trip, Harry and Meghan were apparently flown to Africa on airplanes owned by an alleged money laundering fugitive – unsurprising considering wherever they go they tend to live as big as possible while paying as little as possible.

If only they had remained in Britain. Not only would the pair be paid for living in a grand home, preparing traditional spreads, showing up at polo matches and embarking on world tours, Markle would have been doing work that actually matters. True, the spotlight would have been unyielding, the scrutiny possibly unforgiving – but is it any less so today, trapped, as the Sussexes are, in the simulacra of peerage while plotting out photo-ops?

As his ongoing Manhattan trial confirms, Donald Trump is clearly the last person to critique the comportment of others. But unlike the Sussexes, who’ve never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity, Trump is a prime example of opportunism done right. After all, despite his vulgarity and potential criminality, Trump managed to wind up in the White House.

As for Meghan and Harry – they’re idling in Montecito exile in an overpriced villa paid for by daddy while they wait for their next American Riviera Orchard drop. Perhaps it’s time to return to Britain where they could truly be useful, and where the opportunities afforded by Harry’s birth are ultimately far more plentiful.

The Hollywood A-list actor, George Clooney, had no choice but to turn down a kind offer from Prince Harry during the Duke’s visit to the Clooneys’ Italian villa in Lake Como.

In the 2020 book, Finding Freedom, famously co-written by Omid Scobie, Prince Harry wanted to take a private ride on one of George’s motorbikes but the Oscar-winning star was recovering from a motorbike accident in Sardinia which had left the star hospitalised.

The book states “Harry took one of them out with one of his protection officers”, but because of George’s recent accident, he wasn’t back to enjoying his motorcycle rides and had to recover.

‘Finding Freedom’ claims Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were just newlyweds when they flew out via private jet, arranged by George to Milan, and then were driven to his villa in Lake Como – only a few months after their royal wedding.

Despite the Clooneys being located in a prized position during the wedding, it was claimed that they were less close to Meghan and Harry than previously thought.

Journalist Rachel Johnson recounted a “story doing the rounds” at the nuptials, which cast doubt over their closeness. She claimed the disclosure originated from Carolyn Bartholomew, one of three women to have shared a flat with Princess Diana in Earls Court, London.

Ms Johnson explained that Ms Bartholomew was “waiting for the wedding service to start” when she decided to spark conversation with those around her.

The writer continued: “She turned to the couple alongside her and asked how they knew Harry or Meghan. ‘We don’t’, the Clooneys answered brightly.”

In addition to their privileged position at the wedding, the celebrity couple were also among 200 guests invited to Meghan and Harry’s wedding reception.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been cut off from the Royal Family’s communication network and are not regularly updated on how the King and Kate, the Princess of Wales are, a royal expert claimed.

The Palace has imposed an “information blackout” on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following the cancer diagnosis of the top two royals, according to columnist Maureen Callahan.

After the Princess of Wales announced she was undergoing cancer treatment last month, it emerged Harry and Meghan only learned about her diagnosis like the rest of the public. They followed up the release of release of Kate’s announcement video with a statement wishing her well.

Speaking to GBN America, Callahan said: “The only real thing that Meghan Markle and her husband have to merchandise is their connection to the Royal Family, it really is the singular point of interest for either of these people.

“What’s true, that we know, is that Harry and Meghan are now in a complete informational blackout. They have no idea what is going on with the health of Kate. They have really no idea, it seems, what’s going on with the King so she has really nothing to offer.”

The depth of the relationship between the Clooneys and the Sussexes has been a topic of speculation over the years, especially following Harry and Meghan’s lavish 2018 wedding.

The Hollywood superstar has enjoyed time with the Sussexes but, according to an insider, it’s George’s wife Amal and Meghan who share a closer bond.

Journalist Rachel Johnson quoted an insider at the time saying that the Clooneys claimed they “don’t” know Harry and Meghan when asked how they knew the newlyweds.

However, in the same year, a source from Kensington Palace suggested that Amal and Meghan were “much more friendly with each other and talk more regularly than George and Harry do”

Meghan reportedly considers Amal “like a confidante” and the two women had “become really close friends”.

As InStyle reports, an insider revealed: “It helps they’re both UK-based now, but they have been able to relate on a lot about their lifestyles, especially how to deal with being thrust into new situations in the public spotlight.”

Anyone wondering about George’s remarks at the Royal wedding may be inclined to disregard them, as in 2019, George was among the first to congratulate Harry and Meghan upon the birth of their first child, Archie.

Born on the same day as George himself, May 6, Archies birthday sparked rumours that the Hollywood actor would be named godfather.

In reaction to this, on his 58th birthday, George humorously said: “It’s a big day for me, and now some royal child has been born.”

Despite any speculation, George maintains a close friendship with the couple.

When questioned about his relationship with the then-royal couple by the MailOnline, he said: “We live not too far from one another and we have dinners and stuff and we’re friends with them for all the reasons that you’re friends with anybody.

“They’re just really nice, fun, kind people, they’re a very loving couple, and they’re going to be great parents.”

The couples further solidified their bond by holidaying together after the Royal wedding, which saw a star-studded guest list including James Corden and Idris Elba.

The pro-Sussex biography, Finding Freedom, detailed the vacation where Harry and Meghan jetted off to Lake Como in Italy on George’s private plane.

The Clooneys’ villa, reportedly valued at around £100million, was their destination, with George recuperating from a motorcycle accident during the Sussexes’ stay.

According to the 2020 book, Harry and George share a passion for motorbikes, and while Meghan and Alma enjoyed poolside relaxation, their spouses discussed George’s collection of vehicles.

A source revealed to authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand that “Harry took one of them out with one of his protection officers.”

A throwback picture of Meghan Markle is thought to be an image she never wanted the world to see.

The image was released by her estranged family ahead of a 7NEWS Australia special. The image in question shows the former Suits star, 41, smiling while looking over shoulder at an unknown event.

The date of the throwback snap, which was shared on social media, was not revealed but she can be seen wearing a low-buttoned white collared shirt, while her hair was worn in a messy low bun. She appeared to have a napkin stuffed down her top in a bid to stop any slopping of the food dishes placed in front of her. The look divided users online as to whether it was a good idea or “lower class”.

In the explosive trailer for the discussion, sister Samantha is heard saying: “She would still be a waitress if it wasn’t for dad,” she fumes. Discussing Meghan and Harry’s relationship, Samantha snapped: “They’re unhealthy for each other. This is a toxic relationship.” Half-brother Thomas Jr also said the family “won’t be going away” and urged Meghan to sit down with them to “change everything”.

Meghan Markle admitted she was caught off guard when Mariah Carey said the Duchess of Sussex gives “us diva moments sometimes.”

The second full episode of “Archetypes,” which is hosted by the former American actress, was released on Tuesday. Her guest was Mariah Carey.

The pair had a conversation about the word “diva” and how it has a negative connotation when describing women. At one point, Markle described how the term has become a significant part of Carey’s image.

“… I think that’s really important for people to remember that there might be this persona,” the 41-year-old explained. “And yes, the diva thing we can play into. I mean, it’s not something I connect to. But, it, for you it’s been a huge part of your…”

“You give us diva moments sometimes, Meghan,” Carey replied.

“I do? What kind of diva moments do I give you?” Markle asked.

“Don’t even act like – don’t like,” Carey responded.

“See that’s the thing, I associate it differently,” Markle later said.

“I know, but let’s pretend that you didn’t – weren’t so beautiful and didn’t have the whole thing and didn’t often have gorgeous ensembles,” said the singer. “You wouldn’t get, maybe get as much diva stuff. I don’t care. I’m like, ‘When I can, I’m going to give you diva.’”

Later in the podcast, Markle reflected on how she initially reacted to Carey’s statement.

“So though my fan-girling was tempered today, I um, I kind of think she could tell… But that aside, it was all going swimmingly, I mean really well,” the former “Suits” star explained. “Until that moment happened, which I don’t know about you, but it stopped me in my tracks… when she called me a diva!

“You couldn’t see me, obviously, but I, I started to sweat a little bit,” Markle continued. “I started squirming in my chair in this quiet revolt, like, wait, wait, no, what? How? But? How could you? That’s not true, that’s not… Why would you say that? My mind genuinely was just spinning with what nonsense she must have read or clicked on to make her say that. I just kept thinking, in that moment, was my girl crush coming to a quick demise? Does she actually not see me?”

Markle said Carey quickly clarified what she meant, which then put her at ease.

“She must have felt my nervous laughter, and you all would’ve heard it too,” Markle reflected. “And she jumped right in to make sure I was crystal clear. When she said ‘diva,’ she was talking about the way that I dress, the posture, the clothing, the ‘fabulousness’ as she sees it. She meant diva as a compliment. But I heard it as a dig. I heard it as the word ‘diva,’ as I think of it.”

“But, in that moment, as she explained to me, she meant it as chic, as aspirational,” Markle explained. “And how one very charged word can mean something different for each of us, it’s mind-blowing to me. And it actually made me realize that in these episodes, as I’ve opened the door for conversation surrounding the archetypes that try to hold us back, what I hadn’t considered was that for some, reclaiming the words is what they feel will propel us forward.”

In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced a “multi-year partnership” between Spotify and their production company Archewell Audio.

According to an audio teaser released in March, the series aims to “investigate the labels that try to hold women back.”

“I’ll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives,” she shared at the time. “And I’ll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place.”

for those unversed, Meghan Markle’s biggest claim to fame is the sit-come Suits, which she walked out of after news of her engagement to Prince Harry became public knowledge.

At the time, she issued a statement highlighting her move from acting.

In it she claimed, “I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It’s a new chapter… I’ve ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I’ve done there, and now it’s time to work with [Harry] as a team.”

“I think what’s been really exciting as we talk about the transition out of my career and into my role is the causes that are really important to me that I can focus even more energy on.”

But according to the insider, Prince Harry is now starting to push his wife back in front of the camera, given that they are no longer working royals.

All in all, “Harry thinks it’s madness that Meghan’s essentially turning down blank paycheques to get back at what she’s best at.”

“Of course, he’s encouraging her career as a philanthropist and budding politician but there’s also so much more out there for her in his opinion,” the source also added before signing off.

Meghan Markle announced the launch of her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard back in March. However, the Duchess of Sussex’s latest rebrand – this time as a “domestic goddess” – is already struggling after running into major challenges.

Interest in the new venture has quickly faded in the US and it remains unclear when American Riviera Orchard would officially launch – nearly three months on from the first teaser.

Meghan first dropped a hint about the new lifestyle brand with a 16-second-long Instagram video. In the clip, which was set to the music of jazz singer Nancy Wilson’s I Wish You Love, the Duchess was seen cooking in the kitchen, arranging flowers, and strolling around her opulent Montecito family home.

Meghan has not updated her social media page for the brand since, raising eyebrows about the brand’s longevity.

Currently, the American Riviera Orchard website says “by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex⁣⁣⁣”, referencing her title.

Prof Pauline Maclaran, a marketing and consumer research professor at Royal Holloway, University of London, told the BBC that Meghan appeared to be trying to lean into a “more domestic goddess kind of market” with this latest rebrand.

This follows previous attempts to lead on social justice issues, philanthropy as well as Hollywood acting.

Professor Maclaran said Meghan was positioning herself to become the next Nigella Lawson or Martha Stewart.

 

She said: “I would see this as a much more domestic goddess kind of market with these new regal connections now, and, you know, promoting elegance.”

The expert said that the 16-second teaser video “evoked heritage, which is linking back to the royal aspect”.

Kerrie Kelly, who has worked as an interior designer in California for 30 years, also told the BBC that Meghan now appears to be leaning into her role as a wife and mother.

Mrs Kelly says she would not be surprised to see Meghan unveil a children’s clothing line or a nursery collection in the future. She even suggested that Harry could appear in marketing materials.

In May, royal expert and author Tom Quinn suggested that Meghan was deeply upset by the lukewarm response to American Riviera Orchard.

Mr Quinn told the Daily Mirror: “She has reached the point now where she thinks that anything and everything she does will be unfairly criticised. Like her husband, she feels that people are unfairly picking on her – she cannot understand why people don’t admire her work.”

Royal author Phil Dampier pointed out that Meghan “has no track record of being a top cook” so she may struggle to become the next Nigella Lawson. He told The Sun: “There is a danger you can spread yourself too much doing several things, none of them well. Meghan is known as an actress so people might not take her seriously in the kitchen.”
