Tragically, the musician was in talks for a 2025 tour before his death.

The star was reportedly in negotiations for a series of live dates next year but friends were concerned he would not be able to handle time on the road.

A source told The Mirror: ‘When it emerged that Liam had been talking to new people about a series of dates, there was a great deal of unease among his friends that this was a bad idea.

‘Liam had split from his management about six months ago, and it would not have been something they would have recommended at the current time.’

Liam previously opened up about his second solo album at a fan event and revealed all the songs told a story from his life.

He said: ‘This time, the scariest part is that every one of these songs is a story from my life. And they’re really close to me.

‘I hope people feel that through every song, that I actually felt whatever it is you’re feeling right now listening to this.’

He added: ‘We’ve rewritten a lot of these songs based off the idea of where we’re going with this and also how I’m feeling as a person.

‘I used to show up to sing a song, then go. Absolutely not this time. We’re going to have fun with this.’

Tragic Brit popstar Liam Payne lost his life after falling from his hotel room balcony on Wednesday, October 16.

The former X-Factor star suffered “serious injuries that were incompatible with life” after plunging from the third floor at the luxury Casa Sur Palermo hotel shortly after 5pm local time.

In an official statement given to The Associated Press, Argentinian police disclosed that the father-of-one had “jumped from the balcony of his room”, apparently dispelling any notions of an accidental fall or foul play.

As local cops probe the singer’s last 24 hours, police made the shocking announcement that his ex-girlfriend had been staying at the same hotel the week he died. Liam had been in Argentina for a holiday with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, which was scheduled for five days but ended up lasting two weeks, reports the Mirror.

The 25-year-old TikToker decided to fly home then, telling her followers: “I was so ready to leave. Love South America, but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for five days, turned into two weeks and I was just like, ‘I need to go home’.”

It’s been claimed that Liam then had checked into the deluxe Casa Sur Hotel suite alone three days before he died. According to local news reports, he was asked to leave his previous hotel. Here, we look back at his final moments in Argentina before his sad death.

In 2010, Nicole Scherzinger supported One Direction through the X-Factor and to worldwide fame- and kept in touch with Liam Payne until the day he died. Regarding the fateful day, Andrew Lloyd Webber now told how Nicole is still texting the star.

Andrew, who composed the music for the Broadway musical Sunset Blvd., which stars Nicole, said: “I suppose something that hasn’t been said, and I suppose I could say, is that, of course, she mentored Liam, from One Direction.” Speaking to Billboard, he said: “On the Wednesday when he died, she was still texting him that day.” Andrew revealed that even after hearing of Liam’s death, she still turned out to perform as Norma Desmond in the Broadway production.

He praised: “The fact that she even did the show at all is extraordinary. I mean, she is an amazing, amazing woman. She is without any question one of the finest performers I’ve ever worked with.”

Nicole has since paid tribute to Liam, sharing a snap of the pair alongside Kelly Rowland while filming for their latest show. “Dear Liam, I will forever cherish and treasure the time we shared together, from fifteen years ago when One Direction was born, right up until just a few weeks ago. It was such a blessing to get to work with you recently. We shared the same love and passion for music and I will forever remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had.”

The hotel manager who called emergency services before Liam fell to his death has claimed the singer’s “ex-partner” was also staying there. Speaking to an Argentinian TV programme, Esteban Grassi said: “He was seen alone, but his ex-partner was around.”

When asked, “So she was staying at the hotel too?” on the El Trece show Telenoche, he replied “Yes” before adding, “A floor above, yes.” A small clip of the programme featuring part of the interview has been shown online and also mentioned in other Argentinian media outlets.

It was unclear who Mr Grassi was referring to in his claim. He is understood to have been among three hotel workers prosecutors revealed they had questioned.

In the hours before the devastating incident, Liam spent time with Aldana Serrano, 31, and Lucila Goitea, 27, at the Casa Sur Hotel. The group arrived at the swanky hotel around 11:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday and headed to Liam’s suite.

But they left five hours later at 4pm – just one hour before Liam tragically fell from his balcony. During Liam’s final moments, he was said to be arguing over money with a mystery woman in the lobby of his hotel. He tragically fell 45ft, landing in the inner courtyard of the hotel.

Prosecutors confirmed they had questioned five people, including two women who had been with Liam in the hours before his death for a “reconstruction of his last hours”, she added: “He was with two women in his room where there was access to drugs. I’m not going to say their surnames.

A heartbreaking final photo shows Liam entering the Casa Sur Hotel in the upmarket Palermo district, where mere hours later, he would fall to his death from the third floor.

It’s believed the 31-year-old had been under the influence of drink or drugs, local media reports. In a desperate call made to emergency services, hotel staff requested ‘urgent’ support, with a receptionist telling the phone operator: “We have a guest who’s off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come.”

After the line disconnected, the receptionist continued, “I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger. The room has a balcony, and we are afraid he might do something.” Just seconds later, the receptionist made the following heartbreaking clarification: “Just send an ambulance. Only an ambulance.”

Witnesses close to the hotel have claimed that Liam had endured a “psychotic episode” in the moments leading up to his death. An office worker who was close to the Casa Sur hotel claimed that the on-site masseuse said Liam was acting erratically.

Josefina, a One Direction fan, told América TV: “I was working in an office next to the hotel when we started hearing lots of sirens and lots of noise. A colleague went down to see what was happening and was able to speak to the hotel masseuse, who said there was a man being aggressive, breaking things, having what appeared to be a psychotic episode, and looking like he was out of it on drugs.”

Residents staying in the hotel have described hearing “loud” and “violent” noises coming from Liam’s room in the hour before his death. Speaking to the BBC shortly after the shocking incident, fellow hotel guest Doug Jones said: “I thought they were working on the room. There was a lot of noise, like heavy lifting, like banging, a lot of loud, violent noises, I thought.”

He added: “I saw hotel people going in and out of that room, so I thought they were doing work on the room.” However the loud noises returned, “So about 4pm, 4.30pm, I started hearing some more noise, I was still doing work,” he said. “I heard a really loud, violent scream around 4.45pm, 5pm.”

The police arrived just before 5pm, but reported hearing a loud bang from the courtyard as they arrive, at 5.04pm. A short while later, the tourist saw the “road full of cops,” as the full tragedy on Wednesday evening began to unfold.

A search of Liam’s hotel room uncovered “what appeared to be narcotics, alcohol, destroyed objects and furniture”, according to detectives. Photos purporting to show inside the room where Liam spent his final hours have been confirmed by news outlets, including La Nacion and Clarin.

Liam Payne was ‘baited’ by drug dealers, close friend says

Liam Payne was ‘preyed on’ by dealers: Singer had been clean ‘for weeks’ and was winning battle against his demons in US before he was given drugs at Buenos Aires hotel, close friend says

Liam Payne had got clean from drugs and was winning the battle against his demons while living in the US – but was dragged back into despair by drug dealers who preyed on him at a hotel in Buenos Aires, a close friend has revealed.

The 31-year-old former One Direction singer had struggled with poor mental health for years and had sought treatment for his excessive alcohol and drug consumption.

But Payne had recently got clean and had been taken on by new psychiatrist in Miami where he hoped to start a new life with girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

However, his recovery was shattered during his ill-fated trip to Argentina to renew his US visa when he was targeted by drug dealers who delivered them to his hotel room.

An initial toxicology report suggested Payne had been exposed to cocaine before his death – although did not reveal the amount in his system.

A close friend of the star revealed: ‘Liam had been clean for weeks. He had been to rehab more than once. He had had treatment in the UK and in California.

‘And he had recently been taken on by a new psychiatrist in Florida. Everyone around Liam hoped that he was on the path to recovery.

‘He went to Argentina to renew his USA visa where he had to undergo medical examination because of his history with alcohol and drugs.

‘The results of the tests were good. Liam was 100 per cent sober. But when he checked in at the hotel, at some point someone there started giving him drugs.

‘Liam had tried really hard to get clean, then they preyed on him. These people only care about money. They didn’t care about his health.’

Staff at the Casa Sur Hotel where Payne fell to his death are being investigated on suspicion of supplying the star with drugs in the days leading up to the tragedy.

The men are accused of smuggling various narcotics into the singer’s suite at the boutique hotel in the upmarket district of Palermo.

TMZ reported that a cocktail of drugs called ‘pink cocaine’ – containing methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA – had been found during a partial autopsy, along with crack cocaine and benzodiazepine. The site quoted an anonymous source.

The full toxicology results are not expected to be made public for several weeks.

Payne’s autopsy concluded that the traumatic injuries that caused his death were consistent with his three-story fall from the hotel window. Prosecutors have ruled out anyone else being involved.

A cleaner and another member of staff are said to have hidden the drugs in a Dove soap box which detectives found in Payne’s room following his death.

White powder, traces of chemical crystals, prescription tablets and other drug paraphernalia were discovered in the third-floor suite.

Police have sent the chemicals – believed to be cocaine and crack cocaine – away for analysis.

Detectives are also investigating why a taxi was booked in Payne’s name to go to a poverty-stricken neighbourhood 15 miles away.

The address in the city of Lomas de Zamora is said to match up with a man suspected of being involved in supplying the substance, sources said.

The confidant explained: ‘There were two guys at the hotel that were giving Liam drugs. They sent taxis out to collect packages for him.

‘One of the guys was working in the cleaning department. After Liam died, they noticed that one taxi was sent to the cleaner’s home address.

‘The hotel manager asked him why the taxi had gone to his home and when he couldn’t give an explanation he was fired.

‘The cleaner and another member of staff have been interviewed by the police.’

The friend added: ‘Liam was doing everything to stay clean but as soon as he got to the hotel these people were offering him alcohol and drugs.’

Payne died after he fell from the balcony of his third-floor suite at the hotel last Wednesday afternoon.

But Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office is currently treating his death as ‘inconclusive’ while they await the results of toxicological examinations.

Lead investigator, Prosecutor Marcelo Roma, is probing what role his consumption of illegal drugs and prescription medication had in his death.

The results of these tests are expected to take between ten and 15 days.

Payne’s father Geoff Payne arrived in the Argentine capital at the end of last week to formally identify his son’s body and to arrange for its repatriation back to the UK once it is released by the authorities.

The singer’s funeral is expected to take place in November.

Due to multiple drugs found in Payne’s system at the time of his death, cops believe employees procured them for the singer and brought them in a Dove soapbox, which was found at the time of his death.

The insider further told Us Weekly that the “hotel must provide” more security camera footage.

Photos taken on Wednesday show authorities looking through documents in the CasaSur hotel, as well as coming in and out of the lobby.

The former One Direction singer died Oct. 16 after falling from the balcony of his third-story room in the Argentinian hotel. He was 31.

Payne and his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, had been in Argentina to rekindle his friendship with bandmate Niall Horan, who was playing a concert nearby.

Despite begging her to stay, Cassidy left Buenos Aires just two days before Payne died.

However, her leaving started a spiral of erratic behavior from the singer, as eyewitnesses recalled him acting bizarrely and even smashing his laptop while in the lobby of the hotel.

This caused a hotel manager to call emergency responders to report a disruptive individual who was “high on drugs and alcohol” — later to be identified as Payne. Moments later, the singer would be found in the courtyard where he had fallen.

A preliminary autopsy revealed that the singer — who had always been open about his mental health and addictions — could have fallen from his balcony in a “semi-conscious or unconscious” state, causing him multiple traumas, including a cranial fracture.

During the initial raid of his room, which was completely trashed, authorities found drug paraphernalia and alcohol.

A toxicology report later revealed that the “For You” singer had crack, cocaine and benzodiazepine, which is a type of depressant, in his system. They also found traces of pink cocaine, a recreational drug that typically mixes methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and others.

It was also revealed in a press release obtained by Page Six that authorities were interrogating five people in total, including two women, who were with the singer a few hours before his death. However, it has been determined that the singer was alone in his room when he died.

Text messages Liam Payne sent to former Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger on the day he died have been revealed.

Pussycat Dolls alum Nicole Scherzinger was allegedly in contact with Liam Payne on the day he died.

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber — who is working with Scherzinger on the Broadway musical “Sunset Blvd.” — addressed her relationship with the late One Direction singer during an interview with Billboard published Thursday.

“I suppose something that hasn’t been said, and I suppose I could say, is that of course she mentored Liam, from One Direction,” Webber, 76, said. “On the Wednesday when he died, she was still texting him that day.”

According to the British musician, Scherzinger, 46, learned the tragic news of Payne’s death shortly before she took the stage to perform in her starring role.

“She’d just heard that he died,” Webber said. “And the fact that she even did the show at all is extraordinary. I mean she is an amazing, amazing woman.

“She is without any question one of the finest performers I’ve ever worked with.”

Payne and Scherzinger’s relationship dates back to 2010 when the “Don’t Cha” singer was a judge on “The X Factor UK.”

At the time, Scherzinger teamed up with fellow judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh to connect Payne with his One Direction bandmates, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.

Behind-the-scenes footage released in 2022 showed Scherzinger encouraging her fellow judges to put together “an imaginary boy group” consisting of the five teens rather than eliminating them from the show.

“They’re just too talented to get rid of and they’ve got just the right look and the right charisma on stage,” she said at the time. “I think they’ll be really great in a boy band together.”

“They’re like little stars,” Scherzinger continued. “You can’t get rid of little stars. You put them all together.”

From there, One Direction was formed. The group went to have incredible success, recording albums and performing together for five years until separating in 2015.

Payne and Scherzinger reportedly filmed the forthcoming Netflix series “Building the Band” together before he died.

The fashion icon and the “Strip That Down” singer, who had a 23-year age gap, reportedly dated for four months in 2019.

They first sparked romance rumors that January after leaving flirty comments on each other’s Instagram posts.

“Perfection in a person … don’t give me those eyes,” Payne wrote to Campbell at the time.

She went on to call him a “Beautiful Soul ❤️,” to which he cheekily replied, “takes one to know one 😘.”

Both stars were questioned about their rumored relationship several times, but they stayed tight-lipped.

Andy Cohen asked Payne to “confirm or deny” the romance during a December 2019 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” to which the “Teardrops” singer decided to “plead the fifth.”

While it is unclear whether Campbell and Payne stayed in touch after their brief fling, he remained close with their mutual friend Scherzinger, 46, and even texted the “Sunset Boulevard” star on the day he died.

Scherzinger, who helped form One Direction with Simon Cowell as a judge on “The X Factor” in 2010, mourned Payne’s death in her emotional Instagram post Friday.

“I will forever cherish and treasure the time we shared together, from fifteen years ago when One Direction was born, right up until just a few weeks ago,” she wrote in part.

The “Don’t Cha” singer added that the late pop star “brought so much joy, light, and laughter to the lives of those” who knew him.

“There was an incident where he was very frustrated and was smashing his laptop in the lobby, and then the final time he came down, he actually passed out in the lobby of the hotel,” the hotel guest said in an interview for “Impact x Nightline: One Direction: Liam Payne’s Final Days.”

The tourist claimed he witnessed Payne come down to the lobby “multiple times” and cause such a “disturbance” that he had to be “escorted back up to his room” by hotel staff.

His remarks echo what another guest, a woman named Rebecca, recently told the Daily Mail.

She claimed she saw Payne in the hotel lobby as well, and witnessed some of his bizarre behavior.

Rebecca said she saw the “X Factor” alum grab a woman, whom she believed he had been “with him,” and claimed the singer started “fake-choking her.”

The hotel guest said she was also present when Payne broke his laptop, sharing she heard him shout “F–k this s–t, mate!” after receiving an email that seemingly upset him.

The CasaSur Palermo Hotel manager placed a call to 911, which was later released, amid the chaos.

The man — identified only as Esteban — told first responders at the time, “We have a guest who is [allegedly] high and drunk; and when he is conscious, he is destroying his room and we need you to send someone, please.”

He added that he feared for the life of the hotel guest — who was later identified as Payne — because he was “in a room that has a balcony and we are scared he might be endangering his life.”

Shortly after, the “Night Changes” singer fell to his death from the third-story balcony of his room.

He suffered a fractured skull, and died on impact after he landed in the hotel’s courtyard. His cause of death was attributed to the multiple traumas, internal and external bleeding he sustained.

A toxicology report also revealed that Payne had multiple drugs in his system at the time of his death, including cocaine, crack, the depressant benzodiazepine and a popular party drug called pink cocaine, which is typically a mix of meth, ecstasy and other drugs.

Police are investigating how the “Story of My Life” singer obtained the drugs, but they reportedly believe a hotel employee may have supplied the substances.

According to TMZ, investigators have a theory that one of the workers secretly transported drugs via a Dove soap box that was found alongside other drug paraphernalia in Payne’s trashed hotel.

Prosecutors have also spoken to two women — believed to be prostitutes — who were with the “Strip That Down” singer in his room hours before he died.

However, the two 25-year-old sex workers have reportedly testified under oath that they only drank alcohol with Payne and did not do drugs.

The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office in Argentina also concluded that the “For You” singer — who was likely unconscious when he died — was alone in his hotel room when he fatally fell.

Blind Auditions come to a close this week as a former contestant gets a second chance on Monday’s episode of “The Voice.”

As Blind Auditions wound down on The Voicethe coaches got pickier when it came to which singers would fill the remaining spots on their teams. With only a handful of selections left for Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, Monday’s episode marked a crucial point in the competition where strategy and wit became vital pieces of the puzzle.

Season 26’s penultimate audition round didn’t disappoint — with a flurry of four-chair turns, a last-second decision by Snoop and another chance granted for a former Voice contestant. Meanwhile, Bublé used the final Coach Replay of the season, and McEntire quietly welcomed three more artists to her growing team.

Which singers made it to the next round on The Voice? Here are the standout musical acts of Monday’s episode.

Nonbinary queer singer Cameron Wright, who uses they/them pronouns, opened the episode. They earned an instant four-chair turn with their cover of “The Way We Were” by Barbra Streisand, which was dedicated to their late grandmother who raised them. Wright’s experience singing with Stevie Wonder and touring with their gospel singer mother showed in their powerful performance, landing immediate praise from the coaches. “You came in and just sliced the air out of the room. Not one moment wasn’t perfect,” Stefani said, while Bublé declared that Wright was going to make it “to the damn finals.”

When Wright chose Team Bublé, the Canadian crooner was visibly surprised. It was Bublé’s feedback that prompted Wright to make the decision. “They were one of the greatest singers I have ever heard in my life. I mean, truly,” Bublé said. “That voice is sensational.”

An honorable mention goes to Lauren-Michael Sellers, whose performance of Hillsong United’s “Oceans (Where My Feet May Fail),” scored a four-chair turn, moving McEntire to tears and lighting a fire within Stefani, who spoke about her emotional connection to the worship song. Sellers picked Team Reba.

It seemed as if Eliza Pryor would not make it past the Blind Auditions, but Snoop Dogg continued to live up to his “wild card” moniker and pressed his button at the last possible second. The rapper saw enough potential in the teen singer’s rendition of the Cranberries’ “Linger” to make her a member of Team Snoop. Pryor’s youthfulness didn’t faze him. Instead, he saw what was possible for her musically. “I see that you can go to a lot of different places with your voice.”

Bublé admitted he didn’t push his button because he was uncertain about Pryor’s range, and Stefani noted that she didn’t showcase her vocal strength until the end of the performance.

McEntire, Stefani and Snoop all used up their Coach Replay powers, so it was up to Bublé to decide when to use his. The lucky candidate was folk singer Mark Shiiba, who didn’t receive any initial chair turns but was described by Snoop as “a triple threat” after he impressed the panel with his harmonica and guitar-playing skills. Singing Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right,” it was Shiiba’s unique “character voice,” as Stefani called it, that made Bublé rethink his decision, ultimately using his one-and-only Coach Replay.

Once Bublé put all of his cards in Shiiba’s basket, he saw value in the singer’s distinct vocal stylings. “This guy might be a star. This guy might be [one of] those unique Americana singers,” he said. “I knew that I had made a mistake before the chair ever turned around. [He] got his second chance today.”

After receiving no chair turns when she first auditioned in Season 21, hopeful Camryn Brooks came back for a second go on The Voice. Performing “Light On” by Maggie Rogers, Brooks was proof that second chances do exist, earning a four-chair turn. It was a full-circle moment for Brooks, who had developed a heart condition called myocarditis after her first appearance on The Voice and trained for three years with her doctors to be able to sing a complete song.

In the coaches’ evaluation of her performance, Bublé said his favorite part was “you losing it because that’s such a human thing,” referencing her visceral excitement mid-song over the chair turns. Stefani praised Brooks’s “round,” “soothing” voice. In the end, Brooks chose Team Gwen.

It was an embarrassment of riches on Monday’s episode, but our pick goes to Kay Sibal, a Los Angeles-based Filipino American singer whose Voice audition coincided with the three-year anniversary of her father’s death. Already emotional due to the timing of everything, Sibal put her own jazzy spin on Laufey’s “From the Start,” which Bublé immediately picked up on. He pressed his button, along with Stefani and Snoop, teeing up one of the more intense coach showdowns so far.

“You made that song so yours,” Bublé said, imploring Sibal to pick him as her coach because of his knowledge of the pop-jazz world. Stefani commented on her potential and positivity, which she said was apparent in the performance, while McEntire complimented the “lightness” in her voice. Though it seemed as if Sibal and Bublé were a match made in heaven, she ended up picking Stefani as her coach. “She was so excited, she was so hopeful and grateful to be here. People like that are the kind of people I want to work with.”

“You may be the mack daddy, but I’m the macaroni daddy,” Bublé quipped while battling with Snoop over contestant Mary McAvoy, who wowed both coaches with her rendition of Jessie Ware’s “Say You Love Me.” To compete with Snoop’s blinged-out Death Row necklace, Bublé whipped out homemade pasta jewelry to persuade McAvoy to join his team. His attempt was unsuccessful. “Maybe we should rethink this,” Bublé said after putting on his edible necklace.

The final night of Blind Auditions is upon us, so expectations will be high as the coaches’ teams are nearly complete. For those keeping track, there are only a few open spots: Team Reba, Team Gwen and Team Snoop each have two left, while Team Bublé has three. Which lucky singers will fill out the coaches’ teams? We’ll find out in less than 24 hours.
