Former Vanity Fair editor confirms the timing of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s divorce

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage will last ‘years rather than decades,’ claims ex-Vanity Fair editor

Former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter believes Meghan Markle and Prince Harry won’t make it ’til death do them part.

“I would measure the duration of the marriage in years rather than decades,” Carter, 74, told the Sunday Times in an article published Sunday.

The Air Mail co-founder added that he believes the Duchess of Sussex got everything she wanted out of her marriage to the prince in order to re-launch her Hollywood career.

“I think she has run rings around poor Harry and gotten what she wanted: notoriety, money and a title,” he added. “His usefulness to her diminishes daily.”

The Canadian journalist admitted that the “Suits” alum probably won’t return to television, but that she would be a perfect fit for Bravo.

“If there is a ‘Real Housewives of Montecito’ show in the works, she’d be a shoo-in,” he joked.

Markle and Harry resigned from their royal duties two years after tying the knot in 2018. They moved to Montecito, Calif., where they reside with their two kids: Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

Since then, Harry and Markle have set out to create an empire of sorts in the entertainment industry as they continue to rub shoulders with Hollywood heavy-hitters.

Although Spotify cut ties with the Sussexes after they failed to deliver, Harry made headlines when he published his tell-all memoir, “Spare,” in January and Markle signed with WME in April.

The duo — who’ve been estranged from the royal family since relinquishing their royal responsibilities and giving several interviews bashing the monarchy — sparked separation rumors in July.

A source told RadarOnline that they were “taking time apart” to rebuild their bond.

“They’re trying to figure out what hit them. Harry doesn’t fit in Meghan’s tacky Tinseltown world,” a source claimed, adding that Harry is hoping to “find himself.”

However, an insider close to the couple denied the speculation that there was trouble in paradise, telling us, “It’s not true. It’s literally made up.”

Indeed, the pair have looked as in love as ever in several sightings over the past few months.

Meghan Markle would be “happier not having to come back” to the United Kingdom after experiencing major popularity issues, according to a PR expert.

The Duchess of Sussex was last in the country in September 2022, when what was supposed to be a short visit with Prince Harry was extended following the death of the late Queen.

The Duke returned to London on Tuesday, May 7, before a special ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games but Meghan chose not to accompany him.

PR expert Renae Wąsik suggested Harry might have wanted to avoid leaving Meghan to cope with the media attention while he was busy working.

She noted Meghan’s return would have likely caused a stir because of past comments she made about her relationship with the country, potentially distracting from the Invictus celebrations.

Asked whether Harry was right to return without Meghan, she told the Daily Express: “On Harry returning without Meghan, it absolutely makes sense if he’s astronomically busy (which we are being led to believe is the case).

“Leaving her alone in a country that’s been hostile to her could stir unnecessary media distractions and conflict – distracting from his work.”

The Atticism PR founder added: “It’s probably better avoided and I’m sure she’s happier not having to come back, given her comments on England in the past.”

Sources close to the Duchess of Sussex claimed in the past that “she never felt at home” in the UK and she admitted to struggling with the demands of royal life.

During an interview with The Cut in 2022, Meghan also lamented the media attention that she and her children would have to cope with if they still lived in the UK.

The Duchess also had some negative experiences with the public as she experienced heavy booing when she joined the Royal Family at St. Paul’s Cathedral during the celebrations for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Commentator Hilary Fordwich told the Daily Express: “When they were booed leaving St Paul’s Cathedral… she is an accomplished actress, but it was tough for her to hold a smile.

“You could see the grimace. She won’t want to put herself through that again.”

Meghan will be reunited with Prince Harry later this week as she joins him in Nigeria for a brief visit to promote the work of the Invictus Games.

A source says Meghan Markle reached out to Princess Kate ahead of Trooping the Colour, as she is desperate to end the feud.

Meghan Markle is reportedly ‘desperate to end the feud’ with Princess Kate and has reached out to her.

Kate attended Trooping the Colour – the King’s official birthday celebration – months after announcing she would be taking time off public duties following her cancer diagnosis.

Now sources at Closer claim Meghan and Prince Harry reached out to her in the lead up to the event in a bid to end their long-running feud.

It comes after Harry discussed moments of disagreement between Kate and Meghan in his explosive tell-all memoir Spare, which was released last year.

The Closer source said: “Meghan’s desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them – appearing like some sort of royal saviour could only do her image good.

“And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate – she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her. Meghan has made it clear she’d love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone’s sake. She’s ready to let the anger and bitterness go.

“Of course, it’s not really up to her and Harry, all they can do is continue to reach out and offer olive branches.”

The source added Meghan hopes her feelings are being fed through to Princess Kate and that repairing the relationship would be a “huge relief” for the Sussexes.

Meghan and Kate relationship has reportedly been strained since Harry introduced her to the Royal Family, and this rift was exacerbated in the lead up to Harry and Meghan’s May 2018 wedding day.

According to Spare, Kate and Meghan had a disagreement over Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress.

Harry claimed the pair then had a disagreement via text that left Meghan ‘on the floor sobbing’. The following day Kate is said to have sent Meghan flowers and a card apologising.

The feud between Prince William and Harry allegedly escalated in 2019 when Harry claimed that his brother grabbed him by the collar and knocked him to the floor during a heated argument about Meghan.

A year later Harry and Meghan quit life as working royals, swapping the United Kingdom for life in Montecito, California.

ExpressOnline has reached out to Meghan and Kate’s representatives for a comment.

British monarchs have been celebrating two birthdays every year since 1748 but Prince William might put an end to the long-standing tradition.

Prince William might reduce celebrations for his birthday to one big event as he was born the same month when British sovereigns usually mark their official birthdays.

Since 1748, British kings and queens who were not born over the summer months have held the traditional Trooping the Colour ceremony to mark their birthdays with more favourable weather conditions.

The late Queen Elizabeth II, who celebrated her actual birthday in April, would normally hold the event in the first two weeks of June.

King Charles, who was born in November, has kept up with tradition and marked his official birthday on June 17 during his first year of reign, and then again on June 15 this year.

The Prince of Wales celebrates his actual birthday on June 21 and might decide to mark the occasion with the traditional Trooping the Colour parade when he succeeds his father.

He could then host a smaller, more private, event with his family and friends later in the month.

William would not be the first British monarch to be born in the same period when Trooping the Colour is normally held.

George III, who became king after the official monarch’s birthday tradition was introduced, was also born in June and would normally host two events for the occasion.

He also made Trooping the Colour an annual event when he ascended the throne in 1760.

His granddaughter Queen Victoria, born May 1819, also hosted two events and only once marked both birthdays on the same day on May 24.

The infamous Queen was not fond of the tradition and only attended the parade once in 1895 when it was held at Windsor Castle.

George V and Edward VIII also hosted Trooping the Colour within weeks of their actual birthdays in June.

The Princess of Wales attended Trooping The Colour in London wearing a stunning white and black dress and matching hat for her first public appearance of 2024.

Kate’s been out of the public eye for the last six months following abdominal surgery in January, and her subsequent cancer diagnosis.

Despite a difficult few months, the Princess looked well and in good spirits:

She courageously shared her health news with the public back in March, announcing her decision to stay out of the spotlight as she began a course of “preventative chemotherapy.”

After three months away, the Princess uploaded a statement uploaded to social media on Friday. Giving an update about her health, Kate announced that she’d attend Trooping the Colour. She also confirmed that she’s “making good progress” but that she is “not out of the woods yet”, and that she’s still receiving treatment.

Kate added that she’s experiencing “good days and bad days” and that she plans to “join a few public engagements” over the summer if she continues to feel well.

The Wales children looked smart in their coordinating outfits, matching their mother’s monochrome ensemble. This is the third time the children have accompanied their mother at the parade to date.

This year, Kate rode in the Glass Coach.

Kate, Louis and Charlotte at Trooping the colour

The Glass Coach is one of the primary ceremonial carriages of the British royal family. Created in 1881, it was purchased by The Crown for the coronation of King George V in 1911.

    The Glass Coach

The Glass Coach makes appearances at various state events each year but is most famously known for its role in royal weddings. It transported Princess Margaret to her wedding in 1960 and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. It also carried Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh after their wedding in 1947.

This is the first time in 12 years that Kate has processed in the Glass Coach — I expect it was a decision made for her comfort, to shelter her from the cold and rain given her diagnosis. I believe Queen Elizabeth II rode in the coach during 2012’s Trooping the Colour for similar reasons.

The weather was particularly unseasonable this year. It was a very wet and windy day:

During some moments of the parade, the glass windows became misty with condensation. The princes and princesses attempted to clean the windows with their hands so they could still wave to the gathered crowds:

William didn’t join his immediate family in the carriage. As is tradition, the keen and experienced horseman took part in the procession on horseback. This year, he saddled a horse named Darby.

Kate Middleton is said to be extremely ‘angry’ with Queen Camilla…the reason fans are angry

Here’s The Reason Why Kate Middleton Was Reportedly ‘Angry’ With Queen Camilla And ‘Refused’ To Curtsy To Her At The Coronation

Kate Middleton may have dressed the part for King Charles’ coronation on Saturday, May 6th, looking breathtaking in a white Alexander McQueen dress teamed with royal regalia at the request of the new monarch, but she didn’t do *everything* the new King and Queen wanted!

According to reports, the Princess of Wales, 41, actually refused to curtsy to Queen Camilla as she left Westminster Abbey – we had no idea! – because she was “angry” with her! Why was the usually so calm mom-of-three so angry? If we are to believe royal reporter Tom Bower, it was due to an alleged dispute about the guest list!

Kate Middleton And Queen Camilla Disagreed Over The Coronation Guest List

Kate Middleton is already rumored to have been upset that her former friend, Rose Hanbury, who Prince William was rumored to have had an affair with, was not only invited to the coronation but actually attended it. But that’s not all…

According to Bower, who appeared on Dan Wootton Tonight on Tuesday, May 16th, Camilla (formerly known as Camilla Parker-Bowles after her marriage to British Army officer Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973) had 20 of her own family members on the guest list, yet the Duchess of Cambridge wasn’t even allowed to have her sister Pippa Middleton or brother James Middleton’s partners at the event. We said last week that Kate regularly puts on a brave face in public despite being “heavily affected” by the royal rift – but even she couldn’t hide her feelings at the coronation!

“Camilla brought 20 Parker Bowleses to the coronation and there were four Middletons,” Bower explained. “If you look at the coronation footage, as the King and Queen leave the thrones and head for the exit of Westminster Abbey, you’ll see that everyone bows and curtsies to the King and no one moves a limb, a muscle, when Camilla passes. And that’s because they were angry with Camilla.” It all makes sense now!

Many People Felt Snubbed By Camilla

Kate wasn’t the only one who was angry with Camilla though, as the New York Post reported that many of the people who helped change Camilla’s image from mistress to new Queen were also snubbed from the historic event. As expected, they were “furious” about it too!

“All the people that helped Camilla get the crown on her head were excluded from that coronation, and they were furious,” Bower continued, adding, “Kate and William were angry too. That anger went right through that small part of the congregation by the throne, at the center of Westminster Abbey. And in that moment, it was absolutely noticeable to those people who had been excluded that nobody — let alone Kate — curtsied to Queen Camilla.”

    Prince William Snubbed Camilla Too

Prince William, 40, not-so-subtly snubbed his step mother at the coronation concert the following day, as he failed to mention her in his speech. “What was even more noticeable was, at the Windsor concert the following day, William makes no reference to Queen Camilla [in his speech]. So there is a tension there,” Bower said, before adding that Camilla is actually “exhausted” by everything that’s happening at the moment.

“The whole problem with Camilla is that she’s exhausted at the moment,” he continued, adding, “Those who met her in the weeks before the coronation noticed a very tired, very worn-out woman with tell-tale signs of age, and she’s clearly exhausted by the whole thing.”

“Shocking Revelation: Royal Expert Drops Bombshell News About Harry & Meghan’s New Royal Family!”

“Shocking Revelation: Royal Expert Drops Bombshell News About Harry & Meghan’s New Royal Family!”

On May 19, Harry and Meghan celebrated six years since they got married. They got married at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. Back then, they were seen as part of the royal family’s future, along with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

But things changed. What started as a problem between Harry and William turned into a problem between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family. Their relationship is really bad now, and people wonder if they’ll ever make up.

Now, six years later, Harry and Meghan live in the US. But is life better for them now? A royal expert says their rivalry could get even worse, which might lead to two separate royal families.

Harry and Meghan’s wedding was on May 19, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. It was the first royal wedding since William and Kate got married seven years earlier. Many people wanted to compare the two weddings.

Both weddings were big deals, but they had differences. One big difference was how Meghan rode to her wedding with her mother, not her father, like Kate did. Meghan’s relationship with her father, Thomas, was complicated.

If you look at pictures, Meghan waved to the crowd more relaxed, with her fingers spaced out. Kate kept her fingers close together when she waved.

The weddings of William and Kate, and Harry and Meghan, were quite different. William and Kate’s wedding was serious, with fewer laughs, while Harry and Meghan’s was more relaxed and had gospel singing.

William and Kate invited world leaders, ambassadors, and Prime Ministers, along with many other important guests. Meghan and Harry had more celebrities on their guest list.

Their wedding was unique because of their private life and the media attention they got before the wedding. Some guests, like George Clooney and his wife Amal, didn’t know Harry or Meghan.

There’s a story about Carolyn Bartholomew, who was Diana’s former flatmate, asking the Clooneys how they knew Harry or Meghan at the wedding. The Clooneys said they didn’t.

After the wedding, Harry and Meghan visited the Clooneys at their home in Italy. George Clooney said they’ve had dinner together a few times over the years.

Oprah Winfrey also attended the wedding, but people were surprised because there was no talk about her relationship with Harry and Meghan. One headline even said, “Oprah Winfrey has arrived at the royal wedding — but people aren’t sure why.”

Royal expert Andrew Morton, known for his book “Diana: Her True Story,” questioned Meghan’s choice of celebrity guests at the wedding. He said Meghan invited A-list Hollywood celebrities who had defended her publicly.

Morton said, “I don’t think she even knew Oprah Winfrey before the wedding. But she invited these people, and now she has her own group of supporters.”

He added, “Meghan’s A-list celebrity friends are very vocal and powerful, unlike Prince Harry’s friends who stay quiet.”

Some people thought Harry and Meghan might consider leaving the royal family soon after their wedding. Just days after the wedding, Jonny Dymond, a royal correspondent for the BBC, felt something wasn’t right.

“There were stories coming out about how Meghan behaved towards staff,” Dymond said in the BBC documentary “The Prince and the Press.”

Camilla Tominey, who first reported on Harry and Meghan’s relationship, said, “We were hearing that things weren’t good between William and Harry, Meghan and Kate, and Harry and Meghan with the royal household.”

Even now, many things are unclear about why Harry and Meghan left the royal family for good.

Meghan Markle talked about their decision in an interview with The Cut. She said the British press was always criticizing her, which affected her health and relationship with the royal family.

Because Harry and Meghan’s lives were paid for by taxpayers, the tabloids said their lives were of public interest. So, Harry and Meghan suggested they could earn their own money instead of relying on taxpayers.

Meghan said maybe all the criticism would stop if they did that.

They also asked the royal family if they could leave the UK and live in another country like South Africa or Canada, which is part of the Commonwealth. But the answer was no.

Meghan said they wanted to leave because they were upsetting the royal family’s order just by being there. She said it wasn’t a new idea because other royal family members have done the same thing.

But for some reason, they weren’t allowed to do it, even though other family members could.

Six years have passed, and Harry and Meghan now live in the US with their children, Archie and Lilibet. But according to one expert, their seemingly perfect life might not be as perfect as it seems.

Ingrid Sweard, who is a royal editor, said their big, fairytale wedding in 2018 made people love them at first. But then, people started to change their minds.

“We liked them for a while, but then we didn’t like them as much anymore. There were too many complaints. But they were in love, and that was important. Until they left, and then they didn’t matter anymore. They disappointed the Queen, Prince Charles, William, and Kate,” said Ingrid Sweard.

“They disappointed us. Harry seemed okay. He liked living in California with his family. But he was upset about leaving everything behind, including his brother, father, and sister-in-law, Kate.”

Harry and Meghan talked about the day they left royal life for good in their Netflix show. They left the UK on a private jet with their son Archie and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. Harry called it the “freedom flight.” It was surprising for many people that they decided to live away from the royal family.

In addition, Seward said Harry is successful financially, but as a person, he’s not seen as successful.

“He’s been a great husband and dad. When he and Meghan celebrate their six-year anniversary today, they’ll feel proud,” Seward told The Sun.

“People thought their marriage wouldn’t last, but it has! Harry isn’t as popular in his home country as he used to be. Some people feel sorry for him. But I don’t think Harry sees it that way. He’s happy with Meghan in their own world. I think they’ll stay happy together.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam also talked about Harry and Meghan’s marriage. He said they seem well-suited from the outside.

“They sometimes surprise people with their actions, which some people don’t like,” he said.

“But as far as I can see, their marriage looks good. They have fans. Meghan has started projects like American Riviera Orchard, and she’s working with Netflix and Cochrane entertainments. Harry is focusing on polo. Their trip to Nigeria was successful. But what they’ll do in the future is uncertain.”

In another interview, historian Gareth Russell talked about Harry and Meghan forming what he calls “an alternative royal family.”

“It’s a real possibility. But the problem for them is, when you do something like that, people become more critical of what you do outside of that,” Russell said.

“They’re calling it ‘The Office of Harry and Meghan,’ which is interesting. Maybe it’s a way to change the negative headlines they’ve had recently. They could be trying to become more traditional and position themselves as ex-royals.”

Russell wondered if they’re getting advice to stop criticizing the royal family. Right now, their popularity in America isn’t high, but that could change. Public opinion can change quickly.
