I thought the recent visit together with the Queen to the Thames Hospice was wonderful. But apparently, Meghan left her meeting with Princess Anne dumbfounded. Princess Anne reiterated this mantra, she pointed out that it wasn’t a working monarchy, it was a job, you turn up on time, you do your research, and do the duty.”

The YouTube broadcaster then observed how the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II shared: “It’s all about the project at hand. She also pointed out that whatever charities you are involved in, you need to get involved and get immersed.”

Prince Harry has had a “very upsetting shock” after his strongly worded defence of wife Meghan Markle was quietly deleted by the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex issued the statement against the press in November 2016 as he raged at the media for “racial undertones” in regards to his then girlfriend Meghan. But in a surprising move Harry’s staunch defence has been removed from royal.co.uk after seven years.

Now, royal author Tom Quinn, claims the removal was a “very upsetting shock” for Harry.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: “The statement was a scathing attack on the press and King Charles knows that he needs to keep the press on the side and work with rather than against the media.

“For Harry removing the statement will be a real and very upsetting shock – he will see this as the Royal Family shutting him down, erasing an important part of the anti-media crusade Harry has waged for so long.”

Tom says Harry would have wanted the statement to remain on the Royal website “as a permanent reminder that Meghan and Harry are victims not aggressors.”

Harry’s statement was released by former Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf days after Harry’s relationship with Meghan was made public.

It came following an article in The Mail on Sunday which read: “Harry’s girl is (almost) straight outta Compton: Gang-scarred home of her mother revealed—so will he be dropping by for tea?”

The statement read: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.

“Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.

“Some of it has been hidden from the public – the nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Prince Harry “can’t believe” he’s not in the VIP category that would afford him automatic state security as his legal row with the UK government rolls on, an expert claims.

News broke this week that the Prince has been given the green light to appeal a case he lost in the High Court against the Home Office, which downgraded his protection detail after he stepped back as a senior royal in 2020.

Meghan last visited the UK in September 2022 and made no return last year or this year, so far. Now, royal expert and author Tom Quinn said it seems that, by not travelling to England, Meghan might be “holding grudges” against the Royal Family- and this could cause people to brand her “selfish”.

The author told us: “Meghan will be accused of being selfish by not coming to see King Charles and Kate. Everyone in the UK knows what it’s like to have a family row, but few of us take family rows to the extreme as Meghan has done.

“People are beginning to ask why can’t Meghan just grow up and accept that families fall out but that holding grudges is just selfish and immature.”

Quinn’s comments come afterITVNews’ royal correspondent Chris Ship recalled that when Harry and Meghan were booed by royalists at St Paul’s Cathedral when attending a service for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The expert told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show that Meghan would not want to experience that again. “The difficulty is you remember last time they went to St Paul’s Cathedral, which was for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, they got booed,” he said.

Now another group of royal experts has slammed the timing of the move, dubbing it “clumsy” and “embarrassing” – with one suggesting that Meghan is to blame.

The Mail’s Diary editor Richard Eden told the Palace Confidential: “The problem with their [Harry and Meghan’s] marketing strategy, is that Meghan’s done these publicity stunts essentially, where she sent out goods and encouraged friends and influencers to post about them. But you never know when they’re going to do it or what they’re going to say, so it’s completely out of your control.

She said: “It is clumsy. You can’t expect them to have known that that announcement was coming because people don’t tell them things, because they don’t trust them.

“So I don’t think they would have known, but again it just shows how Queen Elizabeth was so very wise in saying ‘You can’t have a half-in half-out job”.

Since March, the only update on American Riviera Orchard was the debut of the first product to be sold under the brand’s name, a jar of strawberry jam, given to 50 influencers to taste test, and most recently the reveal of her jar of raspberry jam and dog biscuits.

When the baby was born
Duchess Meghan gave birth on Monday, May 6, at 5:26 a.m. local time, according to Buckingham Palace.

What the baby is named
Harry and Meghan took to Instagram to reveal the name of their son: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

They revealed Archie’s name alongside a photo of the couple introducing their newborn to his great-grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Also in the photo is Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

The baby will not carry a courtesy title “at this time,” according to Buckingham Palace.

Archie’s surname of Mountbatten-Windsor is a combination of Queen Elizabeth’s surname of Windsor and Prince Philip’s adopted surname of Mountbatten.

A copy of the birth certificate for Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was shared with the public on May 17. Portland Hospital in Westminster was listed as Archie’ place of birth.

Some royal watchers on social media noted that Meghan’s occupation was listed as “Princess of the United Kingdom.”

The Duchess of Sussex gave birth at the Portland Hospital, a private hospital in London.

The palace said in a statement that Meghan went into labor “in the early hours of this morning” with Prince Harry by her side.

The birth announcement issued by Buckingham Palace indicated Meghan and Harry were at home at Frogmore Cottage along with Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, just a few hours after the birth.

How the baby’s birth was announced
Buckingham Palace alerted members of the media that Duchess Meghan was in labor and then that she had given birth.

Harry and Meghan’s Instagram account also shared the news via a post announcing the couple had a baby boy.

Prince Harry also stepped out near Frogmore Cottage to personally share the news of his son’s birth, calling the birth “amazing” and “absolutely incredible.”

Later in the day, a framed notice of birth for Harry and Meghan’s son went on display on a ceremonial easel at the gates of Buckingham Palace.

“Parenting is amazing,” Harry said. “It’s only been, what, two-and-a-half days, three days? But we’re just so thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy here to spend some precious times with him as he slowly starts to grow up.”

The royal baby wore a cashmere hat by G.H. Hurt & Son and was bundled in an ivory white Leaves and Flowers Baby Shawl by the same brand. Meghan wore a sleeveless trench dress by Grace Wales Bonner.

The interview with the family of three took place inside St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle, the same place Harry and Meghan held their wedding reception after their May 19 wedding.

Harry and Meghan’s decision to skip the traditional photo op outside the hospital, like Princess Diana and Duchess Kate have done, drew backlash from some members of the British press when it was first announced last month.

“This is the shattering of a tradition that goes back for decades,” one journalist told The New York Times last month. “There is a price to be paid for that, and that price is mockery.”

On Wednesday, Meghan said they had a “special couple days” as a family of three.

“He’s just been the dream, so it’s been a special couple days,” she said, later thanking the public for “all the well wishes and the kindness.”

How the baby made history
Prince Harry and Meghan’s son is the first American British biracial royal born in the United Kingdom.

Baby Sussex appears to be the first mixed race child born into the royal family, although some royal historians have pointed out that when Queen Charlotte married King George III in the 1700s, she was believed to have descended from the black branch of the Portuguese royal family. The couple had 15 children, according to the British royal family’s website.

Meghan was born to a white father and a black mother and grew up as a biracial child in Los Angeles.

Harry and Meghan’s child could hold dual American and British nationality, a first for a royal baby.

Meghan, a California native, is reportedly still waiting for her British citizenship application to be approved. Kensington Palace said in November that Meghan would retain her U.S. citizenship as she undergoes the process of becoming a British citizen, which can take several years.

“From what I understand, Harry and Meghan will have to acquire documentation for their child to prove U.S. citizenship and it’s not clear if they will do that but of course the option is there,” said ABC News royal contributor Victoria Murphy.

After leaving the Royal Family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down for a now-famous interview with Oprah – one of a number of attacks on the Firm since their depature.

They alleged that racist comments had been made about their son Prince Archie, prompting Prince William to break his silence by firmly delcaring “we’re very much not a racist family”.

The March 2021 interview only deepend the rift between Prince Harry and his family, but the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh had a cheeky response to the whole thing.

When asked about it in an interview with The Telegraph, Prince Edwards simply responded, “Oprah who?”, while Sophie laughed and added, “what interview?”.

Discussing how the couple’s announcement came as a shock to the Royal Family, the expert said: “The Queen didn’t know, William didn’t know.

“[Prince Harry and Meghan Markle] had a brief chat with the Prince of Wales some time ago and he cautioned them to get everything in place before you make an announcement.

Dickie claims Prince Charles advised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to “work out the logistics” of how they were going to split their time between the UK and North America before formally making an announcement – but they allegedly “didn’t listen to him”.

After the couple made the announcement last night, Buckingham Palace responded with a statement in which they said “discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at early stage” but admitted it was a “complicated issue”.

Describing how Her Majesty will have responded to the news, Dickie said: “The Queen will be feeling very let down and very angry, probably more angry than she felt after Andrew’s carcrash interview.”

Although fellow panellists Trisha Goddard and Sally Jones expressed outrage over his claim, the expert asserted that Harry and Meghan have dropped a “bombshell” while Prince Andrew’s involvement in the Epstein scandal has been “going on for ages”.

Since Prince Andrew’s disastrous Newsnight interview in November, the royal was sacked from royal duties by his “disappointed” mother.

The expert also criticised the couple for releasing a new photo of their son Archie on New Years Eve which “overshadowed” Prince William’s new environmental initiative.
