  • From the Home of ‘The Witcher’ to ‘The Gentlemen’ – Pre-Release Rumors Ahead of Henry Cavill’s Latest Project

From the Home of ‘The Witcher’ to ‘The Gentlemen’ – Pre-Release Rumors Ahead of Henry Cavill’s Latest Project

Mere Weeks Before Henry Cavill Starrer Release, Guy Ritchie Takes Over His Old ‘The Witcher’ Home with ‘The Gentlemen’

The screens of Hollywood lay bare until a visual artist in the form of a director paints it all over with their vision and palette understanding of a story. Among the many notable talents who have their own style, Guy Ritchie stands as one with his unique blend of unexpected twists, non-linear storytelling, seedy individuals, and unorthodox humor. At a time when the 55-year-old looks at unrolling his World War II with Henry Cavill as the lead in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, he has captured one of the actor’s home bases.

Riding on the very opposite of the keyword that headlines his next outing, the director quite easily left his mark on streaming.

The Gentlemen takes Guy Ritchie to soar on top of Netflix viewership

Famed for stylized action sequences, brilliant pacing, dark humor, snappy dialogues, and, above all, unique characters, Guy Ritchie made a quick place for his 2019 movie The Gentlemen. With its popularity not letting go of him anytime soon, he returned with an eight-episode series spin-off of the same name, premiering it on Netflix on March 7, 2024. Remarkably, as per the latest Luminate watch-time report by Variety, the heist drama has clocked over 1.3 billion minutes during its second week.

The numbers came despite the show losing close to 30% of its original viewership in the first week. Additionally, the numbers came even as Netflix’s own 3 Body Problem garnered over 62.6 million minutes of view-time in only its first day of release, partly also due to its connection and showdown with HBO’s The Game of Thrones universe. Regardless, The Gentlemen gave Guy Ritchie a solid chokehold on the audience ahead of him, returning to the big screens with Henry Cavill in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

The upcoming World War II spy flick has already generated widespread interest as it promises unparalleled chemistry from the ex-Superman actor.

Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson strike a ‘frenemy’ chord for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

Scheduled for April 19, 2024, Guy Ritchie will probably leave no holds barred in bringing to life the story of the Winston Churchill-birthed special operations unit from the second World War. Moreover, to add even further hype, a recent promotional from the movie dropped and featured Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson engaging in a dysfunctional brotherhood, adding a layer of humor and depth to a movie already filled with unconventionality.

Prominently featured in its trailers, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare had Henry Cavill showcase occult ruggedness. From a twirly mustache, unkempt hair, buffed-up physique, and the massive girth of his biceps holding out a teacup, the shy glimpses have already laid bare the prospect of witnessing a never-before-seen side of the former The Witcher actor.

What are your thoughts on Guy Ritchie soaring on Netflix ahead of his, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare starring Henry Cavill? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Henry Cavill’s Peculiar Tradition: From ‘The Witcher’ to ‘The Ministry of Inhuman War’

Henry Cavill’s Peculiar Tradition: From ‘The Witcher’ to ‘The Ministry of Inhuman War’

Over the years, audiences have seen Henry Cavill in some rather serious roles. However, his fans, co-stars, and various production crews have seen a rather different side to the star.

Apart from just being an undoubtedly amazing actor, the 40-year-old also has quite the heart of gold and a slew of strange traditions that he follows after wrapping up a film or television show. Now, after keeping it alive in 2020 during his time on Netflix’s The Witcher, the actor seems to have brought the tradition back once more.

This time though, Cavill added a little bit of a special touch to it for his The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare co-stars and crew members.

Henry Cavill’s end-of-filming gift to The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare crew

Last year, Henry Cavill seemed to have his hands full with his spy thriller, Argylle. However, before the star took the world by storm with his new role, he had already completed filming for his upcoming Guy Ritchie project, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

With shooting for the film having wrapped up in April 2023, before the SAG-AFTRA strike took over Hollywood, the actor sent his co-stars and the crew of the film a token of his appreciation. It was a custom film-themed coin with a rather heartwarming card.

The coins were created by Cavill to show his love for the project and the team. Even the card expressed his sentiments as it read, “Thank you for your dedication to this job, it’s been so much fun working with all of you.” The 40-year-old also went on to call the film, “My favorite project to date,” cementing it over the fan-favorite Superman films with Zack Snyder.

While Cavill might be keeping up his longstanding tradition, he once had to issue a warning to fans who wanted to toss coins at the actor because of his hobby.

Henry Cavill’s The Witcher coin toss

Henry Cavill may no longer be a part of The Witcher, but back when the star was just getting into the groove of playing Geralt, he thanked the team with one of his traditional coins and letters.

However, once fans got wind of his tokens, they seemed to want in on the action and were debating on whether they should toss coins at the 40-year-old on social media. Luckily, the word got around to the actor who ended up issuing a firm warning to fans.

Cavill told fans that if they were to throw coins at him, they should expect it to come flying right back at them. While the response was hilarious, the star was 100% serious about what he said. Thankfully, no one wanted to call his bluff, and he avoided being pelted with coins at his public appearances.

  • Not only Henry Cavill, british Marvel stars, who are the prime contenders for legendary 007

Not only Henry Cavill, british Marvel stars, who are the prime contenders for legendary 007

Potential British Marvel Actors For James Bond Role

While Henry Cavill might be out of the picture, there are several talented British actors with Marvel ties who could take on the role of James Bond. Let’s take a closer look at three contenders who have the charisma, acting skills, and experience to do justice to the iconic secret agent.

    Richard Madden

Richard Madden as Ikaris in Eternals

Richard Madden has been getting a lot of attention lately as a possible 007. You might recognize him from his role as Ikaris in the movie Eternals. In the film, Ikaris is the central character with abilities like flying and shooting energy beams from his eyes. But what’s cool is, he’s not the typical superhero—he’s got depth and complexity, thanks to Madden’s acting chops!

In Eternals, the 37-year-old showed he could handle the physical side, too. Ikaris is a skilled fighter with super strength, and Madden pulled off those action scenes like a pro.

On top of being tough, Ikaris is also smooth and charming, just like James Bond. So it seems like the Rocketman star can handle both the fighting and the calm demeanor. No wonder why people think he’d be a great choice for the next Bond.

    Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston in and as Loki

Tom Hiddleston is often seen as a perfect fit for the role of James Bond. He has a natural charm and sophistication that anyone would expect from a suave secret agent. Plus, his acting skills are top-notch, which is key for bringing such a legendary character to life.

What’s interesting is that the Westminster native has already played a spy before in The Night Manager, based on a novel by John le Carré. So, the whole espionage world isn’t new to him, and he can definitely handle those complex spy roles.

The High-Rise star might be done with big franchises after playing Loki in all those Marvel movies, and after getting his own series on the character. But even with that in mind, he has all the qualities fans would want in a Bond actor. So, even with some doubt, he’s still a top choice for the role.

    Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy as Venom/Eddie Brock in Venom

While Tom Hardy might be known for his anti-hero turn as Venom, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t pull off being an amazing James Bond. In fact, his acting range makes him a strong contender for the coveted role.

The 46-year-old has excelled at portraying characters with a tough edge, like the fighters in movies like Warrior and Bronson. He has this intense vibe that could bring a lot to Bond’s action scenes. His experience in action films like Mad Max: Fury Road” shows he can handle the physical demands of the role.

Moreover, Bond does have a lighter side. While Hardy can be funny, most of his roles lean more towards the serious side. But, the Hollywood star can balance that toughness with the Bond-esque charm.

  • Liam Hemsworth’s most risky decision in The Witcher gives Netflix a worthy ending

Liam Hemsworth’s most risky decision in The Witcher gives Netflix a worthy ending

As The Witcher prepares for its fourth season, it has already made a risky decision that will greatly benefit the show with its new lead actor.

As Netflix’s The Witcher prepares for the debut of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, the show seems to have already made a risky decision that, despite being made too soon, will give the show the ending it deserves.

Netflix’s The Witcher quickly became one of the streaming giant’s most popular TV shows, but it has also been one of its most controversial and divisive. Although it’s based on the series of books by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher has made various changes to the source material that haven’t sat well with fans and new viewers.

The Witcher season 2, in particular, made some controversial changes to Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and fan-favorite witcher Eskel (Basil Eidenbenz), but season 3 fixed some of these and more and was a lot more loyal to its source novel.

However, The Witcher season 4 is facing the show’s biggest challenge yet with the recast of Geralt of Rivia after Henry Cavill left the series. Season 4 will be Liam Hemsworth’s debut as Geralt of Rivia, and even though it’s yet to be seen how well-received his performance is, The Witcher has already made a risky decision, but it will greatly benefit the show.

The Witcher season 4 might be the series’ final chance to fix the franchise’s failures and save its future, and here’s how this can be done.

The Witcher Season 5 Is Reportedly In Development Ahead Of Liam Hemsworth’s Season 4 Debut

The Witcher season 4 is about to start filming.

The Witcher season 4 is preparing to finally start filming in March 2024, and as the audience waits for the first official look at Liam Hemsworth in full Geralt of Rivia costume, season 5 seems to be already in development.

Months before the release of season 3, Netflix announced that Henry Cavill was leaving The Witcher and Liam Hemsworth had been cast as Geralt of Rivia, taking over the role in season 4. The ending of The Witcher season 3 didn’t do anything to set up the recast, raising more questions about how Hemsworth’s inclusion in the series will go and if Geralt’s different physical appearance will be addressed in the show or not. Most of all, there’s a lot of expectation but also doubt around Hemsworth’s portrayal of Geralt, more so as Cavill was deemed a “perfect” casting by fans of the books and video games.

The Witcher season 4 is preparing to finally start filming in March 2024, and as the audience waits for the first official look at Hemsworth in full Geralt of Rivia costume, season 5 seems to be already in development.

Despite no official renewal announcement from Netflix (yet), The Witcher season 5 is reportedly in the early stages of development (via Redanian Intelligence), following the streaming giant’s initial plan of producing both season 4 and 5 back-to-back, though this was interrupted by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. According to Redanian Intelligence, the writing team of The Witcher started working on season 5’s script after the Christmas holidays.

The Witcher season 5 already being in development wouldn’t be a risky move if the show hadn’t gone through a huge recast, as the series has to see how well or badly received Hemsworth’s Geralt is.

The report also mentions that there will be a pause between the production of season 4 and that of season 5, giving writers plenty of time to come up with the story for season 5. The Witcher season 5 already being in development wouldn’t be a risky move if the show hadn’t gone through a huge recast, as the series has to see how well or badly received Hemsworth’s Geralt is and how well or not his take on the famous witcher will fit with the rest of the characters.

If Hemsworth’s Geralt fails to connect with the audience, interest in a new season of The Witcher will be lost, but even in that scenario, season 5 being in development can be greatly beneficial to the series.

The Witcher Season 5 Means The Show Can Cover Some Of The Books’ Best Stories

There are some big stories that Netflix’s The Witcher hasn’t covered yet.

A fifth season of The Witcher means that some of the biggest stories from the books will be covered, leaving as few loose threads as possible.

As risky as The Witcher season 5 already being in development way before Hemsworth’s debut as Geralt is, it’s good news for the show. A fifth season of The Witcher means that some of the biggest stories from the books will be covered, leaving as few loose threads as possible in the stories of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri (Freya Allan). The Witcher season 4 is expected to cover the novel Baptism of Fire, so season 5 would have to cover The Tower of the Swallow and, potentially, The Lady of the Lake as well.

The Tower of the Swallow sees Ciri being captured by bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, escaping, and being transported into an alternate reality, while Geralt continues looking for her with the help of Dandelion (Jaskier), Milva, Regis, and Cahir. The Lady of the Lake sees Ciri escaping from the elves and returning to her right dimension thanks to Nimue, and she eventually reunites with Geralt and Yennefer, though this one-of-a-kind family doesn’t have a happy ending.

It’s possible that The Witcher season 4 could mix Baptism of Fire and The Tower of the Swallow so season 5 can fully focus on the events of The Lady of the Lake, as many important things happen in the final novel.

How The Witcher Season 5 Can Give A Proper Ending To Its Characters

The Witcher season 5 will most likely be the show’s final one.

The novel leaves Geralt and Yennefer’s fates ambiguous, but the series can fix this and be more straightforward.

The Witcher season 5 can give Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer a proper ending by focusing on the novel The Lady of the Lake. The final entry in The Witcher book series not only sees Ciri escaping from the elves, who had a similar plan for her as Vilgefortz and Emhyr did, but also confronting the latter and reuniting with Geralt and Yennefer.

The novel leaves Geralt and Yennefer’s fates ambiguous, but the series can fix this and be more straightforward about what truly happens to the witcher and the sorceress. Although The Witcher season 5 is at risk of losing most of its audience depending on how Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt is received, it being already in development means that the show is on its way to getting the ending it deserves.

  • Ideal Kang replacement: Henry Cavill as the Marvel villain, as he faces this multiverse threat

Ideal Kang replacement: Henry Cavill as the Marvel villain, as he faces this multiverse threat

Henry Cavill as The Beyonder in the MCU could be a game changer.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is ever expanding. With new projects and new characters being added to the canon, there is no denying that the franchise is as big as they get. And Henry Cavill is an actor who has the range and capability to handle quite a few characters, that are allegedly being added to the MCU in the near future.

The Future of Kang the Conqueror in The MCU

Jonathan Majors as Kang in Ant-Man 3

Whether it is Captain Britain or Hyperion – the Superman of the MCU – Henry Cavill can take on any role and make it his own if given the chance. But there are many other characters that can easily be taken over by The Tudors actor in the franchise. One such character is The Beyonder, which is currently being hyped to replace Kang the Conqueror in the MCU.

After the Jonathan Majors fumble that led to his contract being terminated by the MCU, rumors say that the franchise is looking to replace Kang altogether. After being found guilty in the abuse trial against his ex-girlfriend, Jonathan Majors was shown the door by Marvel executives.

Since then, there are speculations and uncertainty regarding the character. While some believe MCU should just replace the actor and get someone else to fill in as Kang, others want to completely erase the character from the narrative in the future. But how does The Beyonder comes into this?

Henry Cavill Could Be Perfect as The Beyonder

With the superhero game in upheaval, Marvel is bearing the brunt of it all, especially with so many mediocre projects being released by the studio. After the blunder that was Ant-Man 3 and The Marvels, the MCU is in dire need of some change that can take them out of the slump. And what better way to change the landscape than introducing Henry Cavill to the scene!

The Beyonder is one of the most formidable villains from the Marvel Comics, and with Avengers: Secret Wars being the sixth movie in the Avengers storyline, Beyonder could be easily introduced to the story.

In the comics, The Beyonder kidnaps a lot of the superheroes from the multiverse and brings them to Battleworld to fight it out against each other. And for that to come to life, Henry Cavill could be the perfect person to bring this character to life.

After playing heroes for quite a while, it will be interesting to see an actor of Henry Cavill‘s caliber play a villainous role. He has the looks and the ability to bring a magnanimous character like The Beyonder to life. And given the narrative, it will be not be necessary for the actor to sign a long-term contract either.

In 2022, the two went red carpet official , attending their first event together: the Enola Holmes 2 premiere in New York City (Pictured)

The Superman actor confirmed he was dating Natalie in April 2021 on social media with an adorable chess photo and caption

The actor further explained that although it could, ‘be fun to speculate’ and gossip, the ‘passion is misplaced, and it causes harm to the people I care about most.’

‘I am happy in love, and in life. I’d be enormously grateful if you were happy with me. If you can’t bring yourself to be happy with me, then at the very least try to do yourself proud and be the best version of yourself,’ Henry concluded.

Henry’s last public relationship was with teenager Tara King, whom he dated for just under a year between 2016 and 2017.

In 2013, Henry briefly dated Kaley Cuoco and she credits him for boosting her career as few people knew who she was prior to the fling.

Henry had an on-off relationship with Fast & Furious 6’s Gina Carano between 2012 and 2014 and was engaged to showjumper Ellen Whittaker from 2011 to 2012.

They added: ‘It’s a chance for him to reset and look forward to his new role in the movie Warhammer 40,000. The decision was made earlier this year.’

A second insider said: ‘Garcia and Cavill made an amicable and mutually-agreed upon shift to working together in an advisory capacity for the last 12 months. The two continue to have a close friendship and avid respect for each other’s careers.’

It comes after Henry revealed he hates filming sex scenes and slammed them as being ‘overused’ in cinema and an ‘excuse to see people with less clothing on’.

The Jersey-born actor has endured raunchy shoots throughout his career, namely in his breakout The Tudors and more recently Netflix’s The Witcher.

But the former Superman star said the scenes left him feeling ‘uncomfortable’ and often added little to the narrative.

While he said they can sometimes be ‘great’ in aiding storytelling in movies, Henry claimed human imagination would ‘trump’ anything put on the screen anyway.

‘I don’t understand them – I’m not a fan,’ Henry said on an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

‘I think there are circumstances where a sex scene actually is beneficial to a movie, rather than just the audience.

‘I think sometimes they’re overused these days and it’s when you have a sense where you’re going “Is this really necessary or is it people just with less clothing on”.

The star (seen in an intimate scene in 2007’s The Tudors) said the scenes left him feeling ‘uncomfortable’ and often added little to the narrative.

Incredible truth about Superman Henry Cavill to celebrate ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

Henry Cavill may no longer be Superman, but the star gave his fans some rather memorable moments as the Son of Krypton.

From new takes on the character to brand-new looks, the 40-year-old put in a lot to keep up the air of mystery around the iconic character. Now, with the actor’s second DC film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, turning eight years old this week, let us take a peek at some fun facts about the Zack Snyder film that were previously unknown.

From Cavill and his co-star’s number of lines to his customized Clark Kent glasses and strict workout, here is everything you need to know about the 2016 film.

Fun fact #1 – Henry Cavill needed special glasses for Clark Kent

In every version of the superhero, Clark Kent had always worn glasses to throw people off about his real identity. When Henry Cavill took on the role, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice costume designer Michael Wilkinson realized that regular glasses were not working for the now 40-year-old. The problem was that they seemed too high on his nose. So, he found a solution to the problem.

The costume designer reached out to the well-known spectacle designer, Tom Davies, to find Cavill something that worked better for his chiseled face. Luckily, the creative managed to do just that and bring the team’s idea to life with customized glasses for the star.

While Cavill had already played the part of Superman once before, the problem could have occurred because of the star’s surprisingly sudden bulk.

Fun fact #2 – Henry Cavill got bigger every time he played Superman

When Henry Cavill became Superman, the actor understood the importance of bulking up to play such an iconically strong character. During Zack Snyder’s 2013 film, he stunned fans all over the world with his muscular build. However, the second time around, the star seemed to come back even bigger than he was before. With more defined muscle, it ended up being revealed that he had increased his weight to 220 lbs.

Although Cavill always put 110% effort into his character, the self-burdened responsibility ended up becoming too much for the actor to take. After all, with the 40-year-old having faced issues with his body when he was younger, the role took quite a toll on him and his mental health.

Fun fact #3 – Ben Affleck almost gave up Batman

Years before Henry Cavill landed his breakthrough role in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, Ben Affleck had been offered the opportunity to direct the film. Although the idea was intriguing, the actor turned it down because he believed that he did not know enough about visual effects, which would be a major chunk of the superhero film. Just shortly after that, the 51-year-old was approached to play the role of Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Although he was close to turning it down, Affleck changed his mind after a quick meeting with Snyder. The two had discussed the character and the director even shared some of the concept art for him to get an idea of the opportunity laid in front of him. Thankfully, it worked wonders as the star brought the caped crusader to life for the world to see.

Fun fact #4 – The lack of a detailed script

When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came out in 2016, the sheer amount of Hollywood stars captivated fans all over the world in the film. The entire scene was packed with various celebrities, from Henry Cavill to Gal Gadot and more. However, there was one thing that fans did not seem to notice much. It was the fact that the dialogue in the film was rather limited.

With Cavill having only 42 lines in the entire movie and Gadot 16, it proved that the Zack Snyder film was more of an experience than just another superhero film, which some celebrities seem to be getting tired of.

Fun fact #5 – Henry Cavill’s Superman suit was updated

Just 3 years before Zack Snyder put together his team of superheroes, Henry Cavill had already stunned the world in a beautiful blue and red Superman suit that left audiences in tears. With the next project being on a much larger scale with more stars and more intrigue, the decision was made to once again redo the 40-year-old’s suit.

After all, with Cavill gaining more muscle since filming Man of Steel, it made sense for the costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, to upgrade the iconic suit. Apart from being a brighter shade than the last one, the new suit also had a special embed. It was the Kryptonian script that had mentioned power and responsibility.
