From Twilight to Triumph: Embracing Henry Cavill’s Visual Mastery and Unrivaled Hotness, Crowned the ‘King of Hot Scenes’

Henry Cavill made the audience excited many times when participating in the 18+ historical series The Tudors

Perhaps thanks to Henry Cavill’s level of sexy and seductive charm at that time, author Stephenie Meyer really wanted this actor to play the role of Edward. She was also extremely open and frank about her decision. Unfortunately, author Stephenie Meyer has no decision-making authority over the film. The Twilight crew believes that Henry Cavill is “too old” for the role of Edward.

Disgruntled by this attitude of the crew, author Meyer once wrote: “The only actor I think can become Edward Cullen is Henry Cavill. The most disappointing thing for me is losing my perfect Edward. “

At that time, Henry Cavill was 24 years old – quite old compared to his role as a high school student. On the contrary, Robert Pattinson is only 21 years old and becomes a more reasonable choice for the crew. However, when filming, the audience also thought that Edward’s appearance did not look like a high school student at all.

Henry Cavill no longer has the chance to become Edward Cullen, but this male god’s career is still very brilliant and his reputation can even “surpass” Robert Pattinson. He participated in a series of major projects, typically playing the role of Superman in the DC universe or the movie The Man from UNCLE and the popular series The Witcher . Even the actor’s series The Tudors in the past made him known as the “king of hot scenes” because of a series of daring and sexual encounters with his co-stars in front of the camera.

Henry Cavill always makes the audience blush in every film project he participates in

After Twilight , Robert Pattinson also had a hard time proving his acting ability. Movies like The Lighthouse or Tenet have helped him assert his strength and become a talented actor in Hollywood.

Robert Pattinson is now making audiences look forward to his role as Batman

A long time after Henry Cavill became Superman, Robert Pattinson also “closed” on the role of Batman in DC’s upcoming blockbuster. Unfortunately, it seems that this is a separate project and these two male gods will not have the opportunity to “meet” each other in the same work.

Unrivaled Reign: Henry Cavill’s Dominance in the DCEU Continues as Aquaman 2 Struggles to Keep Pace

After half a decade, a sequel to the $1.14 billion blockbuster Aquaman finally made its way to theatres this year. Sadly, the response is grim. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was released today, the final addition to the DCEU films.

Despite high expectations from the James Momoa-led sequel, the film remains akin to the other poorly performing DC films like The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. However, there is still time to weigh in on that. Interestingly, amid all this, the spotlight has turned towards 2013’s Man of Steel as one of DC’s best, with fans cherishing Henry Cavill’s Superman on social media.

Amber Heard and Jason Momoa in Aquaman 2

The first installment of The Monarch of Atlantis was well-received by viewers, becoming the highest-grossing DCEU ever. Yet, Aquaman 2 was unable to follow suit. With a budget of $215 million, the film must collect over $400 million to be considered a box-office smash. But given the half-hearted reactions from fans and critics, we can hardly say.

Aquaman 2 on the way to get bombed

    Jason Momoa as Aquaman

As the festive season approaches, Aquaman 2 stands as a significant contender at the Christmas box office. However, Box Office Pro forecasts a challenging opening weekend for the DC film, with an expected range of $32 million to $42 million against its hefty $215 million budget. This projection suggests the possibility of the movie underperforming, potentially adding to DC’s list of disappointments this year.

Aquaman 2 serves as the DCEU’s final film of the year, featuring Jason Momoa in the titular role alongside a star-studded cast including Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, among others. Despite the anticipation surrounding the sequel, the looming possibility of it joining DC’s recent string of underwhelming releases raises concerns about the franchise’s future.

To revitalize the DCEU, new heads James Gunn and Peter Safran are poised to take the helm and steer the superhero franchise toward a more promising direction. With Aquaman 2 potentially marking another setback for DC, the pressure is on for Gunn, Safran, and the rest of the creative team to deliver a compelling and successful vision for the future of the cinematic universe.

With a 36% on Rotten Tomatoes, and critics not declaring themselves as big fans, the fate of Aquaman 2 is fairly decided. Meanwhile, comparisons to Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel have surfaced, which earned $670 million at the box office in 2013.

Film critic, Johnny Oleksinski from The New York Post wrote,

“You can tell from every second of the sequel just how disinterested DC Studios is in this film and in the future of this character. It must’ve been a real chore for them to finish the choppy follow-up to the popular 2018 original.”

Likewise, even fans were undivided on the matter on social media. A Twitter post chipped in a riveting insight on DCEU’s decade-old run, claiming Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel was the best the franchise ever had. The caption read,

“10 years and DCEU never topped Zack Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL”

This sparked a whole other discussion on the greatest DC movies in the comments section.

Fans debate the best DC movie ever made

    Hollywood actor Henry Cavill

Despite the disappointment surrounding Aquaman 2, fans have reaffirmed their appreciation for other DC films, particularly highlighting Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder’s Justice League as favorites, with some also praising Man of Steel. This retrospective reflection on the best of DC movies serves as a reminder of the franchise’s past successes amidst its current challenges.

Interestingly, the underperformance of Aquaman 2 has sparked renewed interest in Superman star Henry Cavill, suggesting a potential resurgence in popularity for the actor. As 2024 approaches, fans hold onto hope for the DC franchise, anticipating a revitalization under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran. With their concerted efforts, there’s optimism that DC will regain its footing and reclaim its status as a powerhouse in the superhero genre.

Now fans have taken to social мedia in coмplete shock at the eye-popping scene that shows the 33-year-old tackle a groυp of troυbleмakers on the beach after they steal all her clothing.

‘Why is Jennifer Lawrence in this мovie naked fighting?’ one shocked fan wrote jυst last night.

The particυlar scene, which occυrs мid-way throυgh the filм, shows Jennifer’s character Maddie going skinny-dipping with a 19-year-old stυdent who she is trying to sedυce.

Up υntil this point in the foυl-мoυthed coмedy, viewers had been following J-Law and the scene-stealing Andrew Barth Feldмan as they eмbarked on a very awkward roмance.

Maddie (Lawrence) has been tasked with dating Percy (Feldмan) by his parents, who are eager for their son to have soмe roмantic experience before he goes off to college.

A fan joked: ‘Never thoυght I’d see a naked Jennifer Lawrence body slaм a kid on the beach bυt мaybe natυre is healing.’

The filм was a мodest hit this sυммer, bringing in $87 мillion at the box office against its $45 мillion bυdget.

‘Everyone in мy life and мy teaм is doing the right thing and going, “Are yoυ sυre? Are yoυ sυre? Are yoυ sυre?”‘ she told Variety this year. ‘I didn’t even have a second thoυght. It was hilarioυs to мe.’

  • The DCU’s Exciting Wonder Woman Plans Make The Bitter Pill Of Wonder Woman 3’s Cancellation Easier To Swallow

The DCU’s Exciting Wonder Woman Plans Make The Bitter Pill Of Wonder Woman 3’s Cancellation Easier To Swallow

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman was canceled; however, the new DC Universe’s revealed plans for Diana Prince make up for the character’s canned project.

While Wonder Woman 3 will not be moving forward with Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and Patty Jenkins directing, the revealed plans for the character in the new DC Universe make the movie’s cancellation easier to digest. After two solo movies, Gadot will not get to conclude her trilogy as Wonder Woman. While there have been conflicting reports regarding Gadot’s involvement or not in the franchise going forward due to comments made by the actress, Wonder Woman 3 is not in development at DC. Wonder Woman 3’s cancellation stems from a larger plan.

According to reports, James Gunn’s new DC Universe will recast all the actors from 2017’s Justice League. That process has already started, with Henry Cavill being replaced as Superman by the DCU’s David Corenswet and a new actor confirmed to take on the Batman cowl from Ben Affleck for the announced The Brave and The Bold Batman reboot movie. While Gadot’s Wonder Woman will not be part of the DCU’s slate of projects, that does not mean that there are no plans for the character, with Gunn confirming Wonder Woman will appear within three years of the DCU and more.

Why The DCU’s Wonder Woman Plans Are More Exciting Than Wonder Woman 3

Two Projects Are Confirmed To Help Build Out Wonder Woman’s DCU Corner

While Gadot was good in the role of Diana, the DCEU failed to bring one of the most exciting parts of the character’s story to life: Wonder Woman’s connection to Greek mythology. Ares was poorly used in 2017’s Wonder Woman, being the weakest part of one of the DCEU’s best movies. There is so much untapped potential to be explored in the DCU about Diana’s dealings with the Greek gods and how her relationship with them has been shaped over the years, possibly since her birth in the DCU.

Wonder Woman’s story in the DCU can finally tap into that underexplored well of ideas. While there is currently no project announced for Wonder Woman’s DCU debut, there are two series that will help establish the character corner of the new universe. The Paradise Lost prequel series is the main Wonder Woman-focused project of the announced DCU slate. The show has been described as a Game of Thrones-inspired political drama about the Amazons of Themyscira hundreds of years before Diana’s birth. The animated Creature Commandos will also help set up Wonder Woman by including Anya Chalotra as the villain Circe.

Wonder Woman 3 Would Make It Harder To Distance The DCU From The Old DCEU

The Old Universe Was Already Running On Fumes

Besides the DCU having more exciting ideas to bring Wonder Woman closer to the comics than Wonder Woman 3 could, there is another main reason why Gadot returning to finish her trilogy as Diana Prince would not make sense right now. After years of controversial releases, with the final movies of the universe all underperforming and/or being panned by critics and fans, the DCEU has come to an end. Audiences showed through the poor numbers of 2023 DCEU movies such as The Flash that the universe was dying, and they were ready for the next step.

By bringing back Gadot as Diana for Wonder Woman 3, DC would be doing the exact opposite of what it should be. The studio needs to move forward and fully commit to fleshing out the new DC Universe, not focus on closing the story of DCEU characters that will not be brought into the new universe. Even if Gadot’s Wonder Woman 3 were developed as an Elseworlds project — outside the DCU canon — the mere act of having the actress back as Wonder Woman would generate confusion when Gunn casts the new Wonder Woman of the DCU.

Instead of having to deal with the DCEU’s baggage, the DCU needs to make the most out of the years-long break between Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom — the DCEU’s final movie — and James Gunn’s Superman — the DCU’s first movie.

Wonder Woman 1984 Was A Letdown

The DCEU’s Last Wonder Woman Movie Left Much To Desire

Adding to the reasons why Wonder Woman 3 is not in DC’s best interests is the fact that Gadot’s last solo movie as Diana fell short of expectations. There is no denying that 2017’s Wonder Woman stands tall as one of the best entries in not only the DCEU but among any DC project ever, but the same cannot be said about Wonder Woman 1984. From a cartoonish villain to a convoluted — and downright creepy — way of bringing back Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor and more, Wonder Woman 1984 left a lot to be desired.

Even Gadot herself was not at her strongest in the movie, with her acting falling flat in some scenes. While it would have been exciting to see how the actress and director Patty Jenkins planned to turn things around for the franchise with the third movie, it also makes sense that DC is choosing to move on from that iteration of the character after Wonder Woman 1984 was such a letdown. Thankfully, the DCU has great plans in store for the character and her world that should make up for Wonder Woman 3’s cancellation in a major way.

James Gunn Already Revealed His Dream MCU & DCU Crossover 3 Years Ago

An MCU and DCU crossover may be more likely than ever now, and James Gunn has already revealed which characters he’d want to bring together.

James Gunn proposed his dream idea for a crossover between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe three years ago. Ever since Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. began to develop their respective live-action superhero franchises, the prospect of a crossover has been floated, but has unfortunately never come to fruition.

Since the DCEU has now come to an end, there’s no chance that the MCU’s Avengers will cross paths with Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, but there may still be hope for a crossover between the MCU and James Gunn’s newly-rebooted DC Universe.

Filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran were hired as co-CEOs of the new DC Studios in November 2022, and the pair immediately set plans in motion to reboot the DCEU. While January 2023’s announcement of the new DCU’s Chapter 1, “Gods and Monsters”, may have damaged the performance of the DCEU’s 2023 releases, Gunn certainly raised excitement for the future by confirming ten new projects that will expand DC’s live-action universe more than ever before. James Gunn’s previous work on Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy franchise means an MCU and DCU crossover may be more likely than ever.

James Gunn Wanted A DC & Marvel Crossover In 2021

Prior to being rehired by Marvel Studios to lead production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn worked with Warner Bros. to deliver 2021’s The Suicide Squad and its spinoff, Peacemaker.

The Suicide Squad marked the return of Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, who are joined by new superpowered convicts following their debuts in 2016’s Suicide Squad. Shortly before The Suicide Squad’s release, however, James Gunn spoke to Jake’s Takes and revealed a much bigger live-action DC story he hoped to tell in the story, crossing over with the MCU.

James Gunn noted that he had not only thought about the prospect of an MCU and DCU crossover, but had actually spoken to the heads of both Marvel Studios and DC Films to garner their responses to the idea. He revealed that “everybody’s open to everything,” but questioned whether anything would actually happen.

Now that James Gunn himself is the head of DC Studios, it’s possible that a crossover between these two franchises could be even more possible, as it would only take a conversation with Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, whom Gunn already has a prior professional relationship with.

James Gunn Suggested Two Major Crossover Projects

During this interview, James Gunn interestingly shared two potential ideas for a crossover between the MCU and the DCU. Should he take on these plans, this would see him working once again alongside his former Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad families, as Gunn proposed a team-up movie featuring Groot and Harley Quinn, as well as a project including Rocket Raccoon, Groot, King Shark and Weasel. These ideas may seem outlandish, but the zaniness of each of these characters may gel perfectly on screen, similarly to how Gunn delivered the obscure Guardians of the Galaxy back in 2014.
I would do, I would really be happy to do a Harley Quinn and Groot movie, that would be exciting for me… I could also get really behind the Rocket, Groot, King Shark and Weasel movie, that would be fantastic as well, I think.

Will The MCU & DC Universe Actually Come Together In The Future?

Since James Gunn is now running the creative side of DC Studios, building his own live-action superhero franchise based on characters and stories from DC Comics, a crossover with the MCU seems more likely than ever.

Gunn worked with Marvel Studios for almost a decade, developing four projects in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, so he has a good working relationship with Kevin Feige and other executives at Marvel Studios. This suggests it could be fairly easy for Gunn and Feige to put plans in motion for an MCU and DCU crossover, though this likely won’t happen anytime soon.

The DC Universe hasn’t actually started yet, as its first projects, Creature Commandos and Superman, are premiering in 2024 and 2025, respectively. This new franchise needs time to find its feet before a crossover with the MCU can be considered, especially since many MCU characters have already been developed over the last 16 years. Gunn also notes that there would be a “Berlin Wall of lawyers” in planning something of this scale, so while it’s possible that the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe will come together at some point, it probably won’t be for a very long time.

Every DC Movie Max Just Removed From Its Streaming Service

The Max streaming service is implementing content rotation for DC movies, and the latest turn means 31 fewer projects to watch in April.

Max (formerly HBO Max) is the default home for DC movies and TV shows, but the service has just removed 31 projects as of April 1. Marvel and DC are still the two big names in the superhero media industry, and each is tied to some degree to one streaming service. Marvel movies and TV shows can be found on Disney+ with very few exceptions, and Warner Bros. is behind both Max and DC. However, while the streaming era makes watching more content easier than ever, it also has caveats.

While Disney+ has remained relatively consistent with its Marvel offerings, Max is employing a different approach. At the start of April, 31 animated and live-action DC movies have been removed from the program. They’ll almost definitely be back at some point, but when that is (and if they can be watched in the meantime elsewhere) is yet to be seen.

There doesn’t seem to be any particular rhyme or reason for which DC movies were removed from Max this month. However, a few franchises are safe in their entirety. Of note is that the movies of the DCEU, the Christopher Nolan Batman films, the Burton Batman movies and their sequels, and the Reeves Batman films are all still intact (sans the Supergirls spinn-off) on the service. With a few exceptions, at least one movie has been removed from most years between 2004 and 2023.

While the full list of removals can be seen above, it’s worth pointing out a few outliers. While the majority of the movies are animated DC projects, Ryan Reynolds’ and Halle Berry’s infamous live-action Green Lantern and Catwoman movies are out, as is Keanu Reeves’ cult classic Constantine. The documentary Batkid: The Wish Heard Around The World is also no longer available.

Animated features have taken a bigger hit (particular Batman-related movies). Spanning several continuities, audiences will have to look elsewhere for iconic stories like Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The Dark Knight Returns – Part 1 and 2, and Batman: Under the Red Hood. Of course, given DC’s prolific animation output over the years, plenty of other animated films remain on Max.

Why DC Movies Have Been Removed From Max

While it may be disappointing for some viewers that they can no longer watch certain DC movies on Max (at least for the time being), the move first in with the streaming service’s content strategy. Despite Max being owned by Warner Bros, who also owns DC, the platform uses a rotating content strategy that frequently seems movies and TV shows enter and exit availability. Usually, this is to license content out to other streaming services on limited contract.

So, it seems likely that most – if not all – the removed Max content will soon be available on other services. While that may not allay disappointment from those looking for their DC fix to stay under one roof, the above movies certainly aren’t gone for good. It is currently unclear when DC‘s removed movies will return to
