The One Joke That Got Reba McEntire Booed Of The Stage

Reba McEntire faced several awkward moments throughout her career with the likes of Dick Clark, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert.

    Highlights

Reba McEntire was booed off stage for a bad joke in the late ’70s, but she didn’t take it too seriously and handled the situation well.
Reba McEntire took a bold stance during her career by shading Miranda Lambert at the ACM Awards, but it’s unclear if it was intentional or not.

Getting booed can be a tough reality, especially for anyone’s self-esteem. However, there are certain individuals that managed to turn this into a positive. Take Dave Chappelle as an example who was booed but reacted in the best way possible. The comedian received boos early on in his career at the Apollo, but realized that the booing didn’t affect him one bit. That only furthered his confidence moving forward.

As for Stephen Colbert, well, the host has had controversial guests in the past who were booed on his show. The host handled the moment in the best way possible alongside Ted Cruz. However, some acts weren’t able to handle it as well, and that included Reba McEntire.

During her interview on the Late Show alongside Stephen Colbert, McEntire retold the story of his worst experience as a host during the late ’70s. The moment resulted in Reba getting booed off the stage for a lame joke. We’re going to take a look back at what went down during the awkward moment, and other difficult predicaments Reba was forced to deal with throughout her career.

Reba McEntire Told Stephen Colbert A Joke During Her Earlier Days Got Her Booed Off The Stage

During her interview alongside Stephen Colbert, Reba McEntire was asked if a hosting gig in the past ever went completely south. Although Reba hesitated to answer, she revealed that an awful joke during the late ’70s got her booed off the stage. It was a tough moment for Reba to handle, though she didn’t take the ordeal too seriously given that it was an awful joke.

So what was the joke the got Reba booed off stage, “Do you know the difference between unlawful and illegal?” she asked. “Unlawful means it’s against the law, and illegal is a sick bird.”

Get it, the ill eagle… Reba discussed the moment in the video below.

At the very least, she got a minor smile from Stephen Colbert, who might’ve appreciated the joke a lot more than others. Nonetheless, it wasn’t the only awkward circumstance Reba faced during her career. Another moment took place alongside some major company, Dick Clark and Keith Urban.

Reba McEntire Had Another Forgettable Experience On Stage With Keith Urban And Dick Clark

Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire

During this particular moment, Keith Urban could not find his guitar, which would case a massive delay to his performance. It was at this point that Dick Clark advised Reba McEntire to speak with the audience and make some time pass. However, the moment turned completely awkward after the audience just wasn’t responding to Reba.

“Well, I can tell a joke, I did get booed off stage one time in 1978 for telling a horrible joke, so…probably not a good idea to do that. So I went out there and said, ‘Are y’all having a good time?’ And it was just crickets.”

Thankfully, the awkwardness was all short-lived as Dick Clark came out to rescue the moment. Reba realized that the best way to go about was to be truthful with the crowd.

“Pretty soon here comes Dick Clark out there and put his arm around me and said, ‘All right, folks, we’re going to tell you what’s going on.’ He was just honest with the audience, and I said, ‘Hmmm, lesson learned from the professional.”

Despite the awkward moments from the past, Reba hasn’t necessarily avoided controversy and standing up for others. That was especially apparent during the feud between Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. Not only did Reba stick up for Shelton, but she also shaded Lambert during the moment.

Reba McEntire Took Another Bold Stance During Her Career Taking A Dig At Miranda Lambert

Reba had all the fans talking during The 2019 ACM Awards. We’ll never really know if it was purposely done, but lots of fans felt as though it was a dig at Miranda Lambert, given her feud with Blake Shelton at the time. McEntire said during Shelton’s intro, “I love this next performer for many reasons, he’s charming, funny, handsome, talented, sings like an angel, and always writes his own introductions. Give it up for my fellow Oklahoman and friend, Blake Shelton.”

    Miranda Lambert and husband

Fans were all over the situation, claiming that Reba had clearly shaded Lambert.

Mirana Lambert instead did not discuss these rumors, choosing to keep quiet. As for Reba, she didn’t specify on the moment either, and others suggest she was sticking up for all artists from Oklahoma.

She explained that her doctor said she needed to focus on “vocal rest.” While it doesn’t sound like anything serious was going on, her fans were definitely concerned. Reba McEntire definitely focuses on eating well and exercising, which must be helpful for arthritis and the disc in her body that she deals with. Reba McEntire Defends Kelly Clarkson’s Claims About Ex Brandon Blackstock After Messy Divorce

Reba was married to Kelly’s former father-in-law, and she’s now making similar claims against him as Kelly’s ex has been accused of.

    Highlights

Ex-stepmom-in-law supports Kelly’s claims about Brandon Blackstock’s focus on business and money in relationships.
Reba McEntire describes her marriage with Narvel Blackstock as always business-oriented, leading to a $47.5 million settlement.
Brandon Blackstock allegedly manipulated Kelly Clarkson’s deals, leading to a court ruling requiring him to reimburse her $2.6 million.

Kelly Clarkson has been careful about what she’s said about her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, though it was clearly messy given how many years it dragged out and the million-dollar payout Kelly had to make to Brandon despite having a prenup.

Now, Kelly’s former step-mother-in-law, who was married to Brandon’s father Narvel Blackstock, has made similar claims against her ex, which seemingly backs up the allegations Kelly has made.

Reba Says The Blackstock Men Are All About Business And Money

Reba McEntire smiling on a red carpet at an awards show

During a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Reba, 68, characterized her marriage as “a situation that was always business.”

“I think it works for some people. They can be married or have a relationship and work together. Our work was all the time,” she explained. “Our marriage was 26 years. We started out working together in the band. He was part of the band, and then became my manager, later on then my husband, but it was a situation that was always business — whether we were getting ready in the morning, pillow talk, whatever, but it was business.”
“Even when we were on vacation to recharge the batteries, about three days into a vacation it was like, ‘You know what we can do?’” Reba continued.
Reba tied the knot with Blackstock, 67, back in 1989, but the couple parted ways in 2015, with Blackstock reportedly receiving a substantial $47.5 million settlement (Reba’s reported net worth is $95 million). Their union bore one son, Shelby, while Narvel also has three children from a prior marriage, notably including Brandon Blackstock, who was previously married to Kelly Clarkson.

Kelly has similarly implied that Brandon was very money and business-oriented. As a talent manager himself, he helped negotiate some of her deals himself, including her successful stint on The Voice, even though Kelly has alleged Brandon once said she didn’t look good enough for television.

Clarkson’s divorce from Blackstock in 2021 concluded with a significant multimillion-dollar settlement favoring Blackstock. However, recent developments in December led to a reversal of fortune for Kelly, as a court ruling mandated her ex to reimburse her $2.6 million in commissions he allegedly withheld during their marriage.

    Reba McEntire

Right before the holidays, a California labor commissioner determined that Brandon owes Kelly $2,641,374 in commissions, purportedly garnered while serving as her manager. Legal documents revealed Brandon’s involvement in negotiating lucrative brand deals and career opportunities for Clarkson. Despite his purportedly higher earnings from some of these deals, Brandon purportedly pocketed a booking fee.

The legal saga between Brandon and Kelly, which ensued for nearly two years following her 2020 divorce filing, involved contentious disputes over property and custody of their children. Kelly eventually secured primary custody of their kids, while Brandon received visitation rights. To settle the divorce, the American Idol star agreed to a one-time payment of $1.3 million to Brandon and committed to paying him $115,000 monthly in spousal support until January 2024, which Kelly just stopped paying months ago.

The former Boyzone star shared his emotional goodbye on social media as he wrote to Missy, who emigrated to Australia in 2022.

The 46-year-old flew to the Big Apple to meet up with her as she is believed to now be living there.

Taking to his Instagram account, Ronan shared a snap of wife Storm and Missy in the United States as he wrote: “Always hard to say goodbye. I’m not crying you’re crying.

“Well Most importantly Happy Birthday my brilliant daughter. Love you so much moo.

“You are such a bloody brave strong woman. Storm and I loved seeing you stand on your own two feet In the city that never sleeps. Storm Jack Ali Coops Coco and I are all so proud of you. Enjoy your Day. Love you always Dad X.”

Missy replied under the post, writing: “Love you so much [heart emoji] thank you dad. Best couple days with you both. Missing you already.”

Ronan previously admitted to having a “hurt” heart after Missy departed Ireland in 2022 to find a new life in Australia in the hopes of pursuing a career in acting after previously working as a model.

At the time, he posted a picture to Instagram of her hugging his youngest kids, Cooper and Coco, whom he has with new wife Storm.

The caption read: “Off she goes. Australia watch out @missyykeating is on her way. Heart hurts so much. We are all going to miss her like crazy.”

It has not been an easy year for Ronan after he lost his brother Ciaran, 57, in a tragic car crash while he was travelling to see his son play a soccer match for Cork City FC.

Though there was some light brought into the Keatings’ lives when son Jack, 24, welcomed a baby boy of his own into the world in February 2023.

Where Boyzone are now – P Diddy brawl, secret 15 year feud and life-changing tragedy

From messy divorces to fall outs with Louis Walsh, here’s what came next for Boyzone’s Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Stephen Gatley, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch

Formed in 1993 by X Factor judge Louis Walsh, Boyzone were intended to be Ireland’s answer to Take That.

But their appeal went global, with Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch selling more than 25 million records worldwide by 2013.

The No Matter What singers went their separate ways in 1999 before reuniting in 2007 and then splitting for good after their 25th anniversary in 2018.

But what have the boys been up to since? From messy divorces, feuds and fall outs to soap careers, splinter groups and the heartbreaking tragedy that bonded them forever, here’s what came next for the second biggest band in Britain…

    Stephen Gately

Boyzone had just reunited and finished their Back Again… No Matter What Tour when Stephen tragically died in October 2009.

He and his partner, internet tycoon Andrew Cowles, had just arrived at their £1million apartment in the upmarket Majorca resort of Port d’Andratx, for a month-long working holiday.

On the evening of Saturday, October 9, 2009, they headed out for dinner and drinks in the nearby city of Palma.

The next afternoon, Stephen was found dead on the sofa.

He had suffered ‘acute’ pulmonary oedema – or fluid on the lungs – caused by an undiagnosed heart condition.

The pathology report confirmed his death was not related to drink or drugs and he’d been on good form in the days before, with his widower telling The Mirror, “I do get some comfort from knowing how happy he was that day.

“The night he died, we’d had such a good time, a lovely evening in our favourite restaurant. He was the most happy and confident he’d been in his life.”

Stephen's bandmates were distraught over his tragic death

His distraught bandmates immediately flew to Majorca to bring Stephen’s body back.

And when his devastated mum fretted that her son didn’t “like to be alone”, his ‘brothers’ decided to hold an overnight vigil before the funeral at St Laurence O’Toole Roman Catholic church, spending the night in sleeping bags the floor next to the 33-year-old’s coffin.

“We cried and we laughed and we could hear him telling us jokes and we could hear him answering back…” Ronan later said. “It was a beautiful, amazing experience to be there with Steo that night.”

    Keith Duffy

Like his bandmates, Keith, 46, was deeply affected by the loss of Stephen. And when they were tasked with choosing a coffin, he described it as the, “hardest thing that any of us have had to do in our lives.”

“This was something that was going to be the last thing that your friend is going to lie in,” he added.

But once the funeral was over, it was then that the true horror of the situation began to take its cruel toll.

For Keith, his grief took the form of chilling nightmares – so terrifying that he didn’t dare go to sleep.

“I was distraught – I felt anger, disbelief, I cried a lot and had terrible nightmares,” he previously told Closer magazine.

“In the first few weeks they were terrifying. I couldn’t breathe, I’d go light-headed and it was incredibly frightening.”

For years he struggled to understand the loss and tried to “knock himself out” with alcohol.

And when the band hit the road just two years later with their grief still raw, he said it ended in disaster.

Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden now perform together as Boyzlife

Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden now perform together as Boyzlife
“He died in 2009 and we were back on the road in 2011, two years later – which was way too soon. Way too soon,” Keith told The Express.

“Emotionally and psychologically… I’ll be very honest, myself and Shane were drinking too much, trying to numb the pain, onstage and offstage.

“It just didn’t work, and it wasn’t enjoyable. We didn’t want to be together. That’s when we took a sabbatical.”

After Boyzone split, Keith joined Coronation Street as barman Ciaran McCarthy and also starred as John the security guard in 2014’s Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie.

He married wife Lisa in Las Vegas in 1998, with Ronan by his side as best man, and they have two children – Jay, 24, and Mia, 21.

As well as working the reality circuit with appearances on Celebrity Big Brother and Splash, in 2015 he formed a splinter group with Westlife star Brian McFadden – much to the mirth of Brian’s former bandmate Kian Egan, who branded the move ‘aggravating’.

“It’s a bit of an odd one – a member of Westlife who left the band after four years decides to use half the name for whatever it is that they’re doing,” he sniped.

However, Keith has vowed to keep doing what they’re doing as long as the fans want it.

“Myself and Brian have always been pals. We don’t take anything too seriously,” he told the Irish Independent.

“We’re doing gigs for cruise lines, for Euro Disney, it’s very busy.

“We’re going to keep going for as long as people want to see us.”

    Shane Lynch

Shane Lynch was the bad boy of Boyzone

With his piercings, tattoos and temper, Shane, 44, was quickly dubbed the bad boy of Boyzone and he once had an actual fight with rapper P Diddy.

The pair had a fall after the MTV European Music Awards when P Diddy apparently tried to hijack Boyzone’s VIP area.

Speaking to The Mirror after the 2001 incident, he said: “They were ordering everybody to get out – and right in the middle of all the hassle was my [ex] wife Easther [Bennett, of Eternal fame].

“I saw red. My mood changed. I was like a bull in a china shop, it was really strange and everybody stood back.

“Puff Daddy was standing on a table holding a bottle of champagne. He pointed it and started to shoot it at me for whatever reason, I don’t know.

“So I jumped through the air and gave him a solid one to the jaw and he fell off the table. Then all hell broke loose.”

After Boyzone split, Shane branched out into reality TV, appearing on Celebrity Love Island, The Games, Cirque Du Celebrite and Celebrity Big Brother.

As well as singing, devout Christian Shane has tried his hand at acting, appearing in several pantos, but his love of motor racing has never left him and he continues to compete at a high level.

He has also appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and co-owns three barbershops in northern Ireland.

You might also recognise his famous sisters – twins Keavy and Edele Lynch who were in girl group B*Witched.

Shane split from Easther in 2000 and in 2007 he married singer Sheena White, who he had two daughters with, Billie Rae and Marley Mae.

Now 48, Mikey made headlines in 2010 when he revealed he and Shane had secretly spent 15 years not speaking after a row about an exhaust pipe.

It was only when Boyzone made their comeback that the pair healed their ‘ridiculous’ rift – and became best pals.

He told The People: “For many years me and Mikey were the furthest apart – I mean we didn’t get on at all.

“When the band formed in 1993 I was 17, mad about cars and working as a car mechanic. Mikey was 21 and also a car mechanic but a more advanced one. One day we fell out. It wasn’t really ‘spanner envy’ but, quite ridiculously, we fell out over a bloody exhaust pipe.

“I remember it clearly. I was always into the racing side of cars and Mikey was more a straight mechanic on your average car.

“We were discussing the exhaust pipe and how it would get the car to go a little bit faster and he told me I was talking absolute nonsense and that was impossible.

“And, believe it or not, we fell out over that and we didn’t talk for years.”

He continued: “We worked together but there was always the clear understanding that at that moment we were two individuals who had absolutely nothing in common.

“We didn’t totally ignore each other but we never hung out together. I’d hang out with Ronan and Stephen while Keith and Mikey hung out because they were closer in age.

“That’s just how it always was, right up until our comeback two years ago.

“When we got back together to tour it was just very apparent that we were all adults. We all wanted the same things from life, shared the same values. All five of us instantly became very, very close and understood each other.

“Ever since then Mikey and I have become really good pals and he’s actually a brilliant lad to know. He is a very, very knowledgeable guy, a great reader and he’s very, very wise.”

Meanwhile, he competed on Irish Celebrity Apprentice in 2013 and got to the finals of the Irish Eurovision Song Contest act show in 2010.

Mikey has daughters Hannah and Sienna Nicole from a previous relationship and married wife Karen Corradi in 2004.

    Ronan Keating

Ronan’s first marriage to Yvonne ended in 2010
Ronan, 44, sold 20 million records as a solo artist with hits including Life is a Rollercoaster and When You Say Nothing At All.

he has worked as a judge on the Australian versions of The X Factor and The Voice and since September 2017 he has also hosted the breakfast show on Magic Radio..

His marriage to Yvonne Connolly collapsed in 2010 after his affair with dancer Francine Cornell, and soon after he met current wife, TV producer Storm Uechtritz, on the set of the X Factor Australia.

They tied the knot five years ago in a stunning Scottish ceremony and have since welcomed son Cooper, three, and 11-month-old daughter Coco.

Meanwhile, Ronan had a famous fall out with Louis Walsh when he dumped him as his manager in 2003.

Ronan and Louis Walsh have been feuding for years

Ronan and Louis Walsh have been feuding for years
They were were brought together again when Boyzone member Stephen Gately died unexpectedly during a holiday to Majorca in 2009.

But the feud reignited in 2013 when Louis told The Times they were no longer on ‘talking terms’ and branded Ronan “a manufactured popstar who actually believed his own publicity.

“Ronan thought he was George Michael,” he sniped. “He said he didn’t want to be a karaoke artist. Well, that’s what he is.”

For Ronan’s part, he told the Belfast Telegraph in 2020 that Boyzone’s former manager was just ‘bitter’.

“Boyzone happened because of Louis Walsh, he was fundamentally the reason we got our start,” he said. “After that it was all down to us and what we did individually.

“He was bitter. Someone like Louis, he’s been so successful and made so much money, he should be embracing everything about music that comes out of this country.”

Dolly Parton Tries Mending Feud Between Miley And Billy Ray Cyrus As His New Wife Gets In The Way

Dolly has reportedly encouraged Billy Ray to reach out to his daughter, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Dolly Parton is intervening in the Cyrus family feud, hoping to reconcile Miley and Billy Ray’s strained relationship.
Miley seemed to snub her father at the Grammys, leaving him out of her acceptance speech for Record of the Year.
Despite Billy Ray’s attempts to reach out and reconcile, Miley remains close with her mom and is standing by her.
The Cyrus family is reportedly in a huge feud, with some of Miley Cyrus’ younger siblings refusing to attend their mom Tish’s wedding to Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell. But the kids also seem on the outs with their father Billy Ray Cyrus, especially after they seemed to skip his wedding to much-younger singer Firerose last fall.
Even more telling, Miley seemed to indirectly diss her father Billy Ray Cyrus when she left him out of her Grammy’s acceptance speech earlier this year, despite touching words for her mom. This came amid reports that Miley and Billy Ray aren’t even on speaking terms, but it seems like her godmother Dolly Parton wants to fix that.

Miley Cyrus broke a Spotify record with one of her hits, but let’s take a look at how other Miley Cyrus songs rank on the streaming platform, too.

“Billy Ray and Miley are like family to Dolly,” a source claimed to the National Enquirer. “She can’t stand that they’re not talking.”
“Dolly told Miley she admires her principles, but cutting her own father out of her life is a mistake she’s going to regret forever,” they went on.
Dolly is also seemingly talking to Billy Ray about the situation, as she’s encouraged “Billy Ray to apologize to Miley — even if he feels like he has nothing to apologize for!”

Miley Seemed To Diss Her Dad At The Grammy’s

During the Grammy ceremony held in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4, Miley won out of eight artists nominated for Record of the Year,. While expressing gratitude to her “mommy” Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and “love” Maxx Morando, Miley notably omitted a similar acknowledgment to her father and fellow musician, Billy Ray, as she accepted the award for her track “Flowers.”
In her remarks, Miley conveyed appreciation for the honor while expressing a hope that it wouldn’t drastically alter her perspective on life. Further extending gratitude, Miley recognized the song’s cowriters and producers.

Dolly Parton’s successful career was pestered with baseless health rumors and false death reports.

Reflecting on the significance of the moment, Miley emphasized the importance of recognizing everyone’s inherent worth. “Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular,” she said. “So please don’t think that this is important — Even though it’s very important, right, guys? We are very excited. I want to thank everyone who is standing on the stage.”
Reports say Billy Ray tried reaching out to Miley after the Grammy’s (perhaps a la Dolly’s advice), but it seems to have gotten him nowhere.
“Miley and Billy Ray are on the outs,” a source told Us Weekly. “Miley’s very close with her mom and is standing by her.”
“He’s tried reaching out to Miley many times and congratulated her on her Grammys,” they continued. “The kids have chosen sides, but friends are hoping the rift doesn’t last forever.”
“[Miley] has always been close with Billy Ray,” they added. “It’s caused a rift between her and Miley.”
A separate insider added, “Family dynamics haven’t been the same since the divorce, and now that Tish and Billy Ray are with other people, there’s even more division among them all.”
For now, Miley hasn’t publicly addressed the rumors of a feud in her family.

Harry Styles opens up about his sexuality and addresses queerbaiting accusations

“I think everyone, including myself, has your own journey with figuring out sexuality and getting more comfortable with it,” the 28-year-old said in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Pop superstar Harry Styles is peeling back the curtain on his personal life, addressing accusations of queerbaiting, his sexuality and his romantic relationship with Olivia Wilde in a new interview with Rolling Stone.
Much has changed for Styles since his “X-Factor” days catapulted him to international stardom with the formation of One Direction, and then onto his solo career debut in 2017.

    Hình: Harry Styles
Styles, now touring for his third solo album, “Harry’s House,” opened up about the intense scrutiny into his private life, saying in his cover story interview with Rolling Stone published Monday: “I’ve never talked about my life away from work publicly and found that it’s benefited me positively.”
“There’s always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn’t going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way,” he explained.
Styles, known for his gender-fluid fashion emulating icons David Bowie and Mick Jagger before him, has fielded harsh criticism of queerbaiting — when one benefits from appearing as queer without claiming the community explicitly.

Unprompted, Styles brushed off comments regarding his sexual identity.

“Sometimes people say, ‘You’ve only publicly been with women,’ and I don’t think I’ve publicly been with anyone. If someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or something,” he said.

He’s previously called the need to define one’s sexuality “outdated,” in an April interview with Better Homes & Gardens.
“It doesn’t matter, and it’s about not having to label everything, not having to clarify what boxes you’re checking,” he told the magazine.
Styles is dating Wilde, the director of his upcoming September film “Don’t Worry Darling.” She’s been seen at several of his packed shows dancing along to his music, and the two have been snapped by paparazzi hand in hand.
The 28-year-old singer acknowledged the internet can be a toxic place that attacks people in his close circle, calling Twitter “a s—storm of people trying to be awful to people.”

“That obviously doesn’t make me feel good,” he told Rolling Stone.

“It’s obviously a difficult feeling to feel like being close to me means you’re at the ransom of a corner of Twitter or something,” he explained. “I just wanted to sing. I didn’t want to get into it if I was going to hurt people like that.”
Wilde, 38, also spoke on the online hate in the interview, saying, “What I don’t understand about the cruelty you’re referencing is that that kind of toxic negativity is the antithesis of Harry, and everything he puts out there.”
“I don’t personally believe the hateful energy defines his fan base at all. The majority of them are true champions of kindness,” she continued.

In addition to “Don’t Worry Darling,” Styles will star in the film “My Policeman,” in which he plays an officer in 1950s Britain hiding his sexuality. The film is set to be released in November.
“It’s obviously pretty unfathomable now to think, ‘Oh, you couldn’t be gay. That was illegal,’” Styles said about the role.
“I think everyone, including myself, has your own journey with figuring out sexuality and getting more comfortable with it,” he continued.

“It’s not like ‘This is a gay story about these guys being gay.’ It’s about love and about wasted time to me,” he added.

Brian took to Instagram to share the health diagnosis with his fans after getting an MRI scan to see where the source of the problem is coming from.

He explained: “I Had a lumbar MRI scan and finally discovered the root of the problem with my back pain!”

The 43-year-old shared a picture of the findings with the conclusion saying: “The L5 – S1 disc bulge with contact to both transiting S1 nerve roots.”

The L5-S1 is the lowest level of the disc of the spine, sitting at the junction between the lowest lumbar vertebrae and sacrum.

While it is not uncommon for the disc to bulge, it can cause terrible pain.

Brian explained his next step and said: “I just need to figure out what to do next.

“I’ve had it for years so I doubt it will get better without intervention.”

He captioned his post: “Big thanks to Pall mall medical for doing an MRI scan to finally figure out what’s wrong with my back.”

Brian’s fans all rushed to his post to wish him well on his recovery journey.

Natalie said: “Good news you finally have some answers. Fingers crossed they can find something for it to help you.”

Cristina wrote: “I am sure doctors will give you the best option for this. Please take care of yourself, and do whatever they recommend because your health is the most important thing.”

Claire commented: “It’s always good to finally find out what’s going on and know you’re not going mad!! Make sure you do as you’re told, your health is precious, as I well know.”

This comes after Mark Feehily was unable to perform five gigs of the Wild Dreams tour due to health reasons.

He previously battled pneumonia and it is unclear why he had to have surgery.

Mark had to take a few months off the stage to recover.

The Sligo native has recently reunited with his bandmates to perform on Good Morning America on Monday.

The two country stars watch old show clips together in honor of season 23 being Shelton’s last season

Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire are taking a walk down memory lane.

In a PEOPLE exclusive behind-the-scenes video of The Voice season 23, on which McEntire is currently appearing as a mega mentor, the two country stars take a look back on some of their memorable moments on the show together.

The first clip the duo watch is one from The Voice’s first season in 2011, during which McEntire, 68, served as the advisor for Shelton’s team.

“Right after this did your voice change?” McEntire quips as she watches the clip, to which Shelton replies, “It must have. Oh my God, that was before puberty. What happened to me?”

“I think we’ve weathered very well,” McEntire continues, as Shelton, 46, asks, “You think so? I think you have … I’m not even sure that I’m alive right now.”

At the end of the clip, McEntire concludes, “Things have changed a lot here on The Voice. That was the first year here in the United States. It’s a well-oiled machine now.”

The next clip shown is one of Shelton — who is stepping away from the show after the completion of this season — and McEntire working with season one contestant Dia Frampton.

“I remember she was so nervous,” McEntire says. “Stage fright is something I just had to get over. You just keep doing it. The only time I still get nervous is if I don’t know the song or if I’m wearing new shoes.”

For Shelton, he says “stage fright was always kind of the mystery of being on stage to begin with.”

“That’s part of the draw of it,” he says. “Like, ‘Woah, that freaked me out. I want to do it again.’”

“Like a ride at Disney World or something,” McEntire agrees. “I don’t get nervous anymore, I just have that anticipation, I can’t wait to get on stage. It’s kind of the same thing cause you do have the butterflies.”

Shelton, meanwhile, has a different mindset: “When I’m on stage, I’m thinking, ‘I can’t wait to get off stage and get a drink.’”

The third and final clip shown is one of McEntire and Shelton from season 8, when they met contestant Hannah Kirby’s mom Nancy.

“On season 8, things are starting to change, and already, I can tell a big difference,” McEntire says. “You’re still having fun and excited to see everybody.”

“You know what hasn’t changed? People’s reactions to you when they see you,” Shelton continues. “That woman was like she saw a ghost. Then she wanted a piece of your hair, and you humiliated her daughter.”

The Voice season 23 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST.

Dolly Parton is revealing her grandfather’s reaction to the fashion choices she made when she was younger.

Speaking ahead of the release of her new album Rockstar and book Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, Parton, 77, told The Guardian that her style inspiration in her younger years came from the “town tramp.”

According to the outlet, Parton explained that the “town tramp” was a particular woman who would wear tight skirts and high heels.

“She was flamboyant. She had bright red lipstick, long red fingernails,” Parton said. “She had high-heeled shoes, little floating plastic goldfish in the heels of them, short skirts, low-cut tops, and I just thought she was beautiful.”

The “Jolene” singer added that when people would describe the lady as “nothing but trash,” she would say, “Well, that’s what I’m gonna be when I grow up.”

Per The Guardian, Parton’s grandfather would punish her physically for the way she dressed, however, the country icon told the outlet that it didn’t stop her from sticking to her fashion choices.

“I was willing to pay for it,” Parton revealed. “I’m very sensitive, I didn’t like being disciplined – it hurt my feelings so bad to be scolded or whipped or whatever. But sometimes there’s just that part of you that’s willing, if you want something bad enough, to go for it.”

The 9-5 star’s book Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, which is expected to be released Oct. 17,  will celebrate Parton’s style and fashion choices over the years.

Parton’s album Rockstar is set for release on Nov. 17  and features many well-known names in music. Paul McCartney, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Sheryl Crow, Lizzo and Chris Stapleton are just a few of the starry collaborating artists that appear on the record.

Back in May, Parton and Garth Brooks spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about their friendship ahead of co-hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 18.

“A lot of people do think that we’re close friends and we feel close. We definitely have that kindred spirit, but we’ve never had a chance to spend a lot of time together,” the “Jolene” singer said at the time.

“We see each other now and then but over the last few weeks as we’ve been preparing for for this, I feel like we are beginning to build a really good lasting friendship. I’ve always admired him and respected him and I know who he is and what he does, and I have a lot of friends that are close to him,” she added.

Meanwhile, Brooks explained that he’d admired Parton for some time and that their bond had developed naturally.

“I’ve been a fan for a while. It’s not an everyday thing that you could just sit down with someone like Dolly Parton,” he said. “We did the promos about a month ago. But when we walked in we held hands. It was like all of a sudden now, I felt we’d known each other forever.”
